  • Word 2007 - Pasted Text Not Spellchecked??

    My Word 2007 spell-check seems to work fine, except that when I paste in text from somewhere else, it won't detect any misspellings in that pasted text...no matter what I try. If it makes any difference, when I paste in text, the formatting is preserved (size color etc). I've tried doing a past-special and trying the different options there, but it's still bringing the formatting over. Any ideas on what to try?

I really only need to do 3 things: Rotate the image. Clip the image. Set a "transparent" color. I don't need anything that takes weeks to learn... or is super-powerful... or super expensive. Thanks.

    I need to find all compressed files/folders regardless of file format on a Windows Server 2003 machine. Search options do not provide this capability. Is there a way to list/view all compressed files? Perhaps, this can be done by PowerShell using file/folder attributes and put into a txt file with file location. UPD: Under compressed files/folders - I mean files which appear in blue color in Explorer after changing file/folder attribute.

    In a Google Spreadsheet, is it possible to take the sum of only the colored cells in a column? I have a column of numbers, where I've changed the background color of some of the cells to blue. All of the other cells in the column have the regular white background. Is it possible to create a formula to add up only the colored cells in the column? Thanks so much!

    I have 2 graphics cards, the output from the lspci: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV710 [Radeon HD 4350] I have one monitor connected to the 4850 and 2 connected to the 4350. However when I go into System Preferences Monitors the only monitor shown is the one connected to the 4850. Is there something I need to enable for it to be able to use the other card? How do I get this to work. Thanks.   • Workaround with paths in vista

    Not really a programming question but i think quite relative. I have a .exe running in my windows XP PC. This exe needs a file in the same directory to run and has no problem finding it in XP BUT in Vista(I tried this in several machines and works in some of them) fails to run. I'm guessing there is a problem finding the path.The program is written in basic(Yes i know..) I attach the code below. Can you think of any workarounds? Setting it to black resulted in a dark grey background. This only happens with gnome-terminal; konsole, xterm and rxvt are fine.

  • Mandatory profile on Terminal server fails to load. Userenv.log debug

    Hi, We're having a lot of corrupted profiles lately on our profile share. At the moment I have no clue why, but I decided to switch to one mandatory profile since the users can all use the same and there is no need to have seperate profiles for each user. Here's what I did. I logged into the Terminal server with a new user and configured some stuff (imported certificates and a few files). Then I logged out. Later as admin I copied the profile to another server and renamed it to bsilo. I made sure the user hive settings were adjusted. Everyone had access to the hive. I shared the bsilo folder with full access for everyone. I set the NTFS permissions to read, read & execute, list folder contents for domain users. I also renamed NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN. Now I set a env variable %manprofile% on the Terminal server that points to \server\bsilo\ntuser.man I set the env var as terminal services profile path for a test user. When I log in I as the user get the following output The system cannot find the path specified. Can somebody point me in the right direction.   • Buying a new printer instead of replacing ink?

    With prices of basic printers being around $40 - $50 and a ink cartridge being around $20 - $30 each for black AND color. It costs me more to replace the printer's ink than to just buy a brand new printer. This just seems like a total waste of materials though (I have 4 printers sitting in my basement with no ink). I know the ink cartridges are smaller (not as full) in a new printer but I go through it in about 1 to 1.5 years only and by then my $40 gets me a better printer to boot. Also with certain printers the heads are not part of the ink (Epson use to do this and still might) so I get new heads as well. Is this a bad practice? Are retailers making this a reality when they are selling working hardware cheaper than replacement parts? Is there something more I should be considering? Edit: Some background, long ago I bought an Epson printer which I used to print docs etc vary rarely. The ink started running low so I bought to new carts for around $60 if I recall. The printer then stopped working so I replaced the carts with the new ones but the head was dead on the black which was not worth repairing. I bought a new HP printer for $49. This lasted around 1.5yrs and then the ink ran out, I went to buy new carts and the guy at the store got me to buy a new printer (that was smaller, faster, higher dpi, etc) and it was cheaper than replacing the ink. When the ink ran out on that one I bought a new printer again, etc. The printer gets used maybe once a week at most and I never print photos or anything. It normally is jsut stored away unplugged accumulating dust. People say to buy a laser printer but they are much larger, do not print color, (in the price range I am looking at) and might have the exact same issues. The problem I see is the manufacturer is making my behaviour possible by selling new printers at a loss hoping that they will cash in on the ink later. How can they produce a printer for so cheap which HAS ink in it, and the refills cost more than the unit? It can't.

  • Bolding/underlining/strikethrough-ing text in mutt

    Is there any way to bold, strike, or underline text in mutt? For instance, I currently have a couple of lines in my muttrc to make URLs and email addresses blue text on white background: color body blue white regex but I'd rather have that be blueunderline on white background. Likewise, I'd like to be able to bold unread mails in the index. (dunno if it's relevant, but I'm using Ubuntu's mutt-patched, which is compiled with ncurses.)

  • How do I use a theme for my lockscreen?

    I have the "autumn colors in japan" theme and would like the lockscreen to use the same backgrounds. Specifically - what I want to do is make my lock screen use the same background as the theme I chose through Control Panel - Appearance and Personalization - Personalization. Currently it's set to Autumn Color in Japan. Do I have to locate the images and set them manually or is there a way to get the lockscreen to use the background I have for the desktop, set by my theme?

  • How do I remove the black statusbar on Vimperator for Firefox?

    I recently installed Vimperator and found it awesome, however not really fitting for my everyday tasks. So instead of disabling and enabling it each time, I decided to keep it enabled and show the Firefox toolbar. My only problem is that the black (or other colors depending on the security of the site) bar at the bottom breaks the persona induced eye-candy. Is there any way to permanently change the color of the bar, or hide it while I'm using Vimperator?
