    I am new to web services. I am dealing with testing APIs in my project. In the previous version the company used GET and POST methods but not PUT and DELETE methods. I need help for the HTTP DELETE method. I have browsed various websites where I found the example code snippets for GET and POST methods, but not for DELETE and PUT methods (why?). Can anyone give me an example code snippet (C#) for RESTful HTTP DELETE method and explain how to call the DELETE request?

    I'm coding up a small Vista/7 sidebar gadget for our web based employee schedule system and I've run into a Javascript problem that my Google-FU can't solve. I can't figure out how to fill in a login form from the client. I'm creating a new ActiveXObject, navigating to the site, but lost as to where to go from here. var conn = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); conn.open("POST", "url", false); conn.send(null); Can access the form from the ActiveXObject based on the form id? I'd also assume I'm going to need to change a few headers for a POST vs. a GET? Thanks for any tips or links to references! I can't seem to find much and JavaScript isn't my forte.

    I am trying to implement CSRF protection in an app built using node.js using the express.js framework. The app makes abundant use of Ajax post calls to the server. I understand that the connect framework provides CSRF middleware, but I am not sure how to implement it in the scope of client-side Ajax post requests. There are bits and pieces about this in other Questions posted here in stackoverflow, but I have yet to find a reasonably complete example of how to implement it from both the client and server sides. Does anyone have a working example they care to share?

    Hey Recently I'm interested in post's structure of Wordpress. They use a table named (wp_posts) and in this table they saved 3 related fields such as : post_title post_name guid It's clear that they save title of each story in post_title field , and slugs in post_name , and full url of a post in guild filed . But where the hell, they rewrite these urls in way it appears in browsers : http://localhost/wordpress/about/ There is no htaccess rules for this ! I checked rewrite.php and didn't understand an inch ?! i need to create similar pages , what steps should i take !?

I can't get it to work in FF/Safari; it works great in IE, but FF/Safari won't play ball.. orensanz.org/photos.html would very much appreciate some suggestions.. supposedly there's a google group (forum) for this thing (can't post url.. this thing limits how many urls u can include in a post, it's linked to from their home pg (url above.. oh brother..) but when you link to it you land on a pg that says they've been booted out b/c they violated google's terms of service....;-) thank you..

  • Why aren't my JQuery .ajax requests being made in parallel?

    I am trying to make two ajax requests in parallel using jQuery like this: var sources = ["source1", "source2"]; $(sources).each(function() { var source = this; $.ajax({ async: true, type: "POST", data: {post: "data", in: "here"}, url: "/my/url/" + source, success: function(data) { process_result(data); } }); }); I got the basic structure from this question, but my requests still aren't being made in parallel. "source1" takes a while to complete, and I can see on the server that the second request isn't made until the first is completed. As far as I can tell, I don't have any other active requests, so I don't think it's a problem with the maximum number of parallel requests for the browser. Am I missing something else here?

    I build a css file using PHP which allows me to easily customize the color of many elements. Is it possible for me to "rebuild" the stylesheet and apply it to the page in the DOM using Jquery? eg. <?php if (isset($_POST['mycolor'])){ $myColor = $_POST['mycolor']; } else { $myColor = "blue"; } ?> <style type='text/css'> .style1{ color:<?php $myColor;?>; } </style> Now on my page I have a link you can click called "change color to red" and when you click "red" it does a $.post to my php script, which rebuilds the css including .style1 - and allows the page to change the stylesheet. I haven't tested this but would it even work? If I echo'ed out the new stylesheet after the post into the dom... would it even apply to the page?

    I'm running Sinatra 1.0 with HAML, my form has a number of checkboxes, for example books I like, and you would select all the books you want. The checkbox name is "books". In sinatra params['books'] there should be an array of all the books that were checked, but it only has the last item that was checked, not an array. How can I get all the checked items? For example.. in the page "Insert Post", "Edit Post".. I need to insert html! I read on web that's necessary to disable validaterequest directly in page with attribute validaterequest = "false" or in webconfig file! I tryied all ways, but when I insert in my textarea html code, I get always the error of potential value dangerous! Any solutions?

  • What's the best way to debug AJAX to PHP calls?

    I'm having a miserable time debugging one small function on my new project. Essentially I'm having a user log out via an AJAX call to my log out script on my server called "userfFunctions.php" I'm using AJAX so that I don't have the headache of writing more regex to match my mod_rewrites. Anyway, every so often, it seems as though my Post data just flat out dies and since the PHP is running behind the scenes, I feel like I have no way of finding out where the data flow is being disrupted. BTW This function works 19 hrs of the day.   • How do I write to command line from a WPF application?

    Hi I know how to write to console but if I write to console in my program and call my program from the command line it won't display anything. How do I make it so that when I say Console.WriteLine or Console.Out.Writeline ir prints to the command prompt from which it was called and not somewhere else? Once again I know how to do Console.WriteLine so it's not that :-p unless I'm doing it wrong. From what I can tell it's probably something to do with Console.SetOut(TextWriter t) this is a WPF application and I need it to post its data to the command line while still retaining the GUI at startup. I've triple checked and my code hits the print lines, I can actually see the lines being printed to the Visual Studio output window, it just won't display in the command line when I run it manually without VS. If possible I need to conditionally have the console display. ie if run from command line (or even with command arguments), display or post to the prompt, otherwise do not.

    I have a table column called post_tags within a table called posts where assigned tags are stored separated by the @ symbol. I also have a table called tags where all tag names are stored. I would like to design my database in a more normalized way but for the purpose I am trying to achieve this is the easiest option. Anyway, I want to display on the screen all the entries from the tags table as checkboxes, so I do: $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM tags ORDER BY name"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $tag = $row['name']; echo "<input type='checkbox' name='tags[]' value='$tag' />\n"; } Next I want to have the tags that are assigned to a particular post be preselected. How can this be done?

If I'm on that page, I don't want to post a message if the user wont to leaf it without saving it...: if(/containers/.test(document.location.href)){ window.onbeforeunload = function(){ return exit_text; }; } This works fine, except that I if i save the content in the flash plugin.     I have a form on my site. The user enters their e-mail and selects a location from a dropdown. I then need to post that data to an external site by hitting a url with the user's location and e-mail in the query string. I'm doing this like so: string url = "http://www.site.com/page.aspx?location=" + location.Text + "&email=" + email.Text; HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url); HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); My client says that I am not hitting their server, but when going through the debugger, I'm getting a response from their server. I also tried tracking what was happening by using Firebug, and I noticed that there was no POST made to that external site. What am I doing wrong here?
