  • Iphone SDK - tap to undo a zoom inside of a scroll view

    Hi, I was just wondering how I can get a single tap to undo the zoom inside of a scroll view? I cant seem to figure it out. I was also wondering how do you know what size to set your scroll view contentSize, as I find this issue a little confusing at the moment I have it set at 460x320. Thanks

    Hello, I have a problem acessing a IBOutlet. I have a NIB inside which there is a tableview, a toolbar and an UILabel (encasulated into a view). The controller (that is the file's owner) is defined as : @interface ChoixPeriodeController : UIViewController <UITableViewDelegate> { IBOutlet UILabel* __periodeInitialeLabel; } @property(nonatomic, retain) UILabel* periodeInitialeLabel; - (void) setSelectedPeriode:(Tache_TypePeriode)typePeriode; In the .m file, this function is called by the parent window to init the Label : - (void) setSelectedPeriode:(Tache_TypePeriode)typePeriode { NSMutableString* tmpString = [NSMutableString string]; [tmpString appendFormat:bla bla bla;....]; self.periodeInitialeLabel.text = tmpString; } Into this function, I can see that self.periodeInitialeLabel is at nil. I can't see why ? Everything is connected into IB... Do you see what can be the problem ?

    I'm doing an application that puts tons of sprites on the screen in random position, like throwing cards on a table, but after a while it starts to drop the fps, because all the sprites still there. What I would like to do is adding the sprites but like an image, what's behind isn't stored. There are some way to do that? the code looks like this: var mySprite:MySprite = new MySprite(); mySprite.x = random; mySprite.y = random; mySprite.rotation = random; addChild(mySprite); Ps: I will not have to mess with them after they are on the screen.

    I have 2 Tables, User and Mail. In User Table i have 2 columns that i will use, the ID column which makes the relation with the Mail Table and it is the Index of User Table and the Name column. In Mail Table i have Receiver Column and Sender Column. Both columns, Receiver and Sender have a number that relates to the ID Column in the User Table. In the User Table is where the name columns resides and i want to make a query that shows me the Receiver and Sender Columns but with the name of the user, not the ID. Up to this point i have this: SELECT name AS Send, name AS Receive FROM mail,user WHERE sender=guid; I know there is still a part of the query missing but i can not figure out what else to put to tell it to show in the SEND output column the name of the sender and in the RECEIVE output column the name of the receiver.

    Hello, The query below works just fine. It pulls fields from two MySQL tables, "comment" and "login". It does this for rows where "username" in the table "login" equals the variable "$profile." It also pulls fields for rows where "loginid" in the table "comment" equals the "loginid" that is also being pulled from "login." I would like to pull data from a third table called "submission," which has the following fields: submissionid loginid title url displayurl datesubmitted I would like to pull fields from rows in "submission" where "loginid" equals the "loginid" that is already being pulled from the other two tables, "login" and "comment." How can I do this?   • Why can't you call a non-static method from a static method?

    I have a static method [Method1] in my class, which calls another method [Method2] in the same class and is not a static method. But this is a no-no. I get this error: An object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property "ClassName.MethodName()" Can someone please briefly describe why? including other things that might be related to this.

    My initial question was here and was related to the postgres backend. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2408965/postgres-subquery-ordering-by-subquery Now my problem has moved onwards to the Django ORM layer. I essentially want to order a query by a postgres function ('idx', taken from the above stackoverflow work) I've gone through trying to use model.objects.extra(order_by ) or simply order_by but I believe both of these need the order_by parameter to be an attribute or a field known to Django. I'm trying to think how to solve this without having to revert to using an entirely raw SQL query through a model manager.

  • How to pass a class method as an argument for another function in C++ and openGL?

    I know this thing works: void myDisplay() { ... } int main() { ... glutDisplayFunc(myDisplay) ... } so I tried to include myDisplay() function to a class that I made. Because I want to overload it in the future with a different class. However, the compiler complains that argument of type 'void (ClassBlah::)()' does not match 'void(*)()' . Here is the what I try to make: class ClassBlah { .... void myDisplay() .... } ...... int main() { ... ClassBlah blah glutDisplayFunc(blah.myDisplay) ... } Does anybody knows how to fix this problem?   • Loading UINavigationController subclass from a Nib

    My situation is as follows: My class SettingsViewController is a subclass of UINavigationController. That class contains the logic of its rootViewController. For example, it acts as the delegate and data source for two table views in that root view controller. I have no problem setting this up programmatically. In the initializer of SettingsViewController, I can create an additional UIViewController to serve as the root view controller, position the table views in its view, and set their delegates and data sources to self. But I want to load that root view via a Nib. The problem is, I do not know how to connect that Nib with my SettingsViewController, how to set the delegates and data sources. The SettingsViewController is not accessible from within the Nib. 'File Owner' represents the root view controller, not the SettingsViewController. How do I access my UINavigationController subclass from within my root view controllers Nib? Thanks in advance.

    I have a class MyController that inherits from Controller, so all my controllers inherit from MyController. I have a property in MyController: public class MyController : Controller { public string SomeProperty {get;set;} } if I set this property in MyController's OnExecuting method, my HtmlHelper extension method works fine: public static string SomeExtension(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper) { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); string result = ""; var controller = htmlHelper.ViewContext.Controller as MyController; if (controller != null) { result = controller.SomeProperty; } return result; } it doesn't work if I set 'SomeProperty' in my controllers action method. I guess because I am doing 'as MyController' in the extension method? is there a way for it to work in both situations? I am using the value of SomeProperty to be outputted on my view pages.

The method runs (outputs a message) but it doesn't add anything to the array, and the array seems empty. Code is below, any suggestions?   • Save NSWindow Size on Resize & Close For User

    I've noticed that all applications on OS X seem to save the size you set it at. The next time you open it it's typically in the same position and size. I'm making an app and I've noticed that after resizing, if I launch the application again it's just the size of what I've set in Xcode 4's IB and not the size that I resized it to on launch. Do I have to manually save the window size each time its changed? Or is there an easier way to do this through IB? (My window does have a minimum size set if that changes anything.)

  • Need help optimizing MYSQL query with join

    I'm doing a join between the "favorites" table (3 million rows) the "items" table (600k rows). The query is taking anywhere from .3 seconds to 2 seconds, and I'm hoping I can optimize it some. Favorites.faver_profile_id and Items.id are indexed. Instead of using the faver_profile_id index I created a new index on (faver_profile_id,id), which eliminated the filesort needed when sorting by id. Unfortunately this index doesn't help at all and I'll probably remove it (yay, 3 more hours of downtime to drop the index..) Any ideas on how I can optimize this query? In case it helps: Favorite.removed and Item.removed are "0" 98% of the time. Favorite.collection_id is NULL about 80% of the time.   • Implement Combobox/Option Menu funcionality on an iPhone interface?

    I want to give a list of choices on an iPhone GUI that works like a Combobox/Option menu. It needs to display the current selection, but on tapping it you should be able to change the current selection which will trigger a refresh of the screen. The option menu is letting the user choose which category a search is being performed under. So there is a default category and there are about 6 other choices. Idea 1: Use a label or button and when clicked on a new screen overlays that has all 6 options in a tableview, clicking on one closes the overlay screen and goes back to the main page with the updated value displayed. Idea 2: Should I use a totally different but native iPhone GUI widget like a Navbar at the bottom of the screen to reflect the different options?
