  • Reading large excel file with PHP

    I'm trying to read a 17MB excel file (2003) with PHPExcel1.7.3c, but it crushes already while loading the file, after exceeding the 120 seconds limit I have. Is there another library that can do it more efficiently? I have no need in styling, I only need it to support UTF8. Thanks for your help

  • Target not being executed when imported to the main *.proj file

    I use the TFS 2008 build facilities. I have a large MSBuild project (TFSBuild.proj) and I wanted to split it into a few files because it is becoming hard to maintain. I found a strange behavior; when I extracted one of the targets (BeforeInitializeWorkspace) to a separate file and then imported it into the main *.proj file, it was not executed. Although, in my MSBuild log, there was information that the target has been imported and overridden, but hasn't been executed. If I have the same target defined in my main *.proj file, it is executed. Can someone explain why the target isn't executed when imported from a file? Thanks,

  • How to parse an XML string in TDI

    I am new to TDI. I have a TDI assembly line that calls a web service (ibmdi.InvokeSoapWS) which returns the result as a string in the work attribute 'xmlString'. I then have an AttributeMap that attempts to parse the xml and extract a value (the node it seeks is a few nodes deep). var parser = system.getParser('ibmdi.SOAP'); var xmlString = work.getString('xmlString'); var entity = parser.parseRequest(xmlString); task.dump(entity); The trouble is, the parsed object does not contain an accurate representation of the XML. It contains only two attributes, the first is correctly the first node following the soap body (e.g., ns0:SomeNodeReply), the second being a node inside the first (e.g., ns0:DetailCount). And as far as I can determine, both attributes are just strings so I cannot recurse into the object graph.   • [PHP] Using cURL to download large XML files

    I'm working with PHP and need to parse a number of fairly large XML files (50-75MB uncompressed). The issue, however, is that these XML files are stored remotely and will need to be downloaded before I can parse them. Having thought about the issue, I think using a system() call in PHP in order to initiate a cURL transfer is probably the best way to avoid timeouts and PHP memory limits. Has anyone done anything like this before? Specifically, what should I pass to cURL to download the remote file and ensure it's saved to a local folder of my choice?

Nothing so far has worked, from using sys.path.append('.') to just import foo I have a python file that wishes to import a file (that is in its parent directory). Can you help me figure out how my child file can successfully import its a file in its parent directory.     Here is an example bit from the xml file: <array> <dict> <key>Name</key> <string>Joe Smith</string> <key>Type</key> <string>Profile</string> <key>Role</key> <string>User</string> <key>Some Number</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>Some Boolean</key> <true/> </dict> </array> I have two separate goals. The first is to extract an array from the dictnode that would look like: [Name] => Joe Smith [Type] => Profile [Role] => User [Some Number] => 1 [Some Boolean] => true It's not crucial that the boolean be included, so if that adds too much complexity, I'd rather just know how to deal with the others for now. The second goal is to be able to select the value node (<string>, <integer>,etc) so that I can change the value. I would need to select it based on the text value of the preceding key element. I think the following XPath should work: //key[.=$keyname]/following-sibling[1] But I'm not sure. Basically, this whole system that Apple uses seems logical, but totally contrary to the XML is supposed to work. If I ran the world, the original XML would look more like: <dict type="array"> <value key="Name" type="string">Joe Smith</value> <value key="Type" type="string">Profile</value> <value key="Role type="string">User</value> <value key="Some Number" type="integer">1</value> <value key="Some Boolean" type="boolean">true</value> </dict> But since it is fairly logical, I am wondering if I'm missing some obvious way of handling it.

  • Does importing of packages change visibility of classes?

    I jsut learned that A class may be declared with the modifier public, in which case that class is visible to all classes everywhere. If a class has no modifier (the default, also known as package-private), it is visible only within its own package. This is a clear statement. But this information interfere with my understanding of importing of packages (which easily can be wrong). I thought that importing a package I make classes from the imported package visible to the importing class. So, how does it work? Are public classes visible to all classes everywhere under condition that the package containing the public class is imported? Or there is not such a condition? What about the package-private classes? They are invisible no mater if the containing package was imported or not? ADDED: It seems to me that I got 2 answers which are marked as good (up-voted) and which contradict eachother.

  • Consuming WCF REST service in multiple ways (.Net, plain XML)

    I have become quite frustrated of WCF as I just want to use this simple scenario: Provide a webservice using REST, with a UriTemplate like /method/{param1}/{param2}/ and a 3th parameter that is sent to the service as XML as POST data. Use just plain XML, no SOAP overhead. Be able to generate a proxy in Visual Studio so a .Net using client can easily use the service (don't care about SOAP overhead here). I can create 1. and 2. but no way I can use 3. I tried adding both webHttpBinding and basicHttpBinding endpoints in my services config; I fooled around with the <services/> tag, but I just can't get this working. What am I missing here?! N.B. I checked out this article: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/186631/rest-soap-endpoints-for-a-wcf-service but nothing what is described there seems to work here?!

  • .NET Web Service Proxy is adding special characters in XML

    My web service proxy seems to be adding special characters like "*" and "#" etc. within the xml nodes. My proxy created lists using arrays of objects. I am trying to create a generic list and then doing list.ToArray() to set the proxy MyProxyObject[] object. Is this the cause of the problem I am having? I plan on running fiddler on the request later but it is over SSL and I do not have access to the URL at the moment.
