• setting upload/space limit for FTP client

  As part of my web hosting plan i've also got a few domain hosted for family and friends. I have my own FTP account with full access and I would like to give FTP to a web designer and a user. Is there a way for restricing uploads larger than a certian size, or setting a size limit on the folder that the FTP access has access to? I'd rather not let them upload files ridiciously big. • Pros and Cons of Creating an Internal Cerificate Authority

  What are the pros and cons of spinning up an internal certificate authority (primarily Windows 2003 CA)? We have the need to encypt server-server traffic on a project that has 20+ certificates. We could buy certs from Verisign, but I was thinking that an internal CA might be a better long term solution. • Is it possible to install custom software on Amazon EC2

  I'm trudging through the Amazon docs for a quick answer, but while I'm looking I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here. My client uses custom software that uses (wait for it) Microsoft Excel to store data as opposed a RDBMS. Either way, their server is outdated and they are interested in using Amazon's cloud services, but would installing this software be possible, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Links are welcome! • FreeBSD 32bit to 64bit migration

• Postfix and google apps email limit

  I installed postfix on my ubuntu vps. The server is hosting mysite.com. I set the MX records for mysite.com to use google apps for email: ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM ... I am using php's mail() function, and emails are working. Google apps has a 500 email / day limit. Am I using this limit? I'm not sure what postfix is doing exactly. Thanks

• Can Azure host ColdFusion?

  A friend has a site developed in ColdFusion with MySQL and is looking for better cost-effective hosting as the traffic scales up rapidly. Azure comes to mind. I haven't used Azure myself, however, I believe it is possible to setup and interact with the web-server via RDP into a hosted Virtual Machine? I am curious if ColdFusion can be installed in the hosted Azure VM. Also, would the site have to be tweaked to run on Azure SQL, or could it continue to use MySQL? Thanks.

• Need help with setting up MS-SQL on EC2.

  I have a large MS-SQL database that i need to send to the aws cloud. The issue is how do i persist my sql data and how to setup MS-SQL cluster using windows AMI. The real issue is that for replication i need to use the private ip's of the instances. However, these ip's are always dynamic and will change on server launch.
