I built application by using Netbeans and its working fine. Friends-- Cannot connect reliably to ethernet nor at all to Internet: Symptoms: About 2 weeks ago did an upgrade. Have not been able to connect to ethernet nor Internet. Connecting Windows 7 to legacy Linux Samba share

I have had to rebuild my Windows 7 PC and all has gone fairly well until I tried to connect to a Samba share on a legacy Linux box running Redhat 8. No matter what combination of domain / user /password I would just see the same message of: "The specified network password is not correct." This is a misleading error, very annoying and a little confusing until I found a hint that Windows 7 default authentication was not supported on older Samba implementations. I guess I figured this out once before as it used to work before the rebuild! Anyway here is the solution: 1. Control Panel->System and Security->Administrative Tools->Local Security Policy (or run secpol.msc). 2. Select Local Policies->Security Options->Network security: LAN Manager authentication level. 3. Select 'Send LM and NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated' and click OK. #

I run a few blogs on topics like programming, linux tips and network security. I noticed the following: Till last year had only 1 blog that had posts on PHP, linux tips, network security etc. The AdSense RPM was around 1.00. Then I split the content into 3 separate blogs, one focused on web development/PHP/MySQL. second one focused on Linux/Windows how-tos and tips and third one focused on network security and related network topics. The Adsense RPM rose significantly for 2 blogs, and was 1.38 (PHP blog), 0.87 (tech tips blog) and 1.90 (network security blog). In the month of april 2013 the site on network security had the highest traffic and the Adsense income of that site was twice that of all three sites combined previously. My question is simple, does focusing on one topic lead to higher CPC/CPM?

Hi, I have been busy creating an app for Red5. Imagine what was my surprise when I tried to configure basic/digest authentication and I couldn't. What struck me as strange is that I have a running tomcat instance that works and authenticates correctly with the following xmls: web.xml (part of) <security-constraint> <web-resource-collection> <web-resource-name>A Protected Page</web-resource-name> <url-pattern>/stats.jsp</url-pattern> </web-resource-collection> <auth-constraint> <description/> <role-name>tomcat</role-name> </auth-constraint> </security-constraint> <login-config> <auth-method>DIGEST</auth-method> <realm-name>BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA</realm-name> </login-config> <security-role> <description/> <role-name>tomcat</role-name> </security-role> and a tomcat-users.xml in /conf that looks kinda like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <tomcat-users> <role rolename="tomcat"/> <user username="ide" password="bogus" roles="tomcat"/> </tomcat-users> The annoying thing is that configuration authenticates correctly when on tomcat's servlet container, but on the red5's modified one, it just keeps asking for authentication. Am I becoming mad or it should work like a charm? Red5 is version 0_9_1 The stats.jsp is accessible in both servlet containers, the only difference is that when you input the correct password and username in tomcat, you are logged in, and in red5 you are not, it just keeps asking you for the password. My application is been live from 6 months. The application is host on jboss 7.1 server. From last few days I am finding numerous problem of hanging of jboss server. Though I restart the jboss server again, it does not invoke. I need to restart the server machine itself. Can't add domain users to Reporting Services 2008

I have SSRS 2008 setup on the database server. The server is part of the domain. Reporting Services is running under NetworkService. When I try to add a domain user using the web interface (Site Settings -- Security -- New Role Assignment), the page posts back but the user is not in the list. I'm looking to buy an evaluation security token (combined smart card/usb reader) for my business that works on: Windows 7 x64 OS X 10.6.x x64 Ubuntu Linux (64 or 32 bit, 10.04 or 10.10, I can bend based on possible tokens) Functionality I need is: Login authentication Authentication for whole-disk encryption (in Linux/Windows, Mac is flexible here) Signing/encryption using PGP and x.509 certificates RSA-2048 key-capable (1024 not good enough.) I can manage the certificates myself Open source middleware/drivers (not necessarily FOSS, just source available. Can flex on this, I just want to be able to audit the code. OpenSC-compatible on Linux would be great.) Is there any token that can do all of this? Or would I need multiple ones to accomplish this? Or do I need to look at smart cards and readers to get this? I have been researching this for a while and have had a heck of a time even getting accurate information about products. Also, I am in the USA, and it appears that EU export laws prevent me from buying from there, so those vendors are out. I was looking at Feitian tokens from Gooze, but since they are in France I can't buy.

I'm tryed to the following Linux OS with the server: 2.6.32-22-generic-pae #36-Ubuntu SMP. and discovered my OS has not proper Network drive installed (for the NIC adapter described above). After investigation I made, I discovered that the driver I need is "be2net" placed in "net" directory of the linux under the folder "be2net". I managed to download this driver with the latest package for my kernel. Cannot run a VM with more than three network interfaces with KVM

I'm running KVM on top of Ubuntu 10.10 Server I can create VM's (Virtual Machine) and network interfaces fine but I cannot seem to add more than three network interfaces. As soon as I have a VM with four network interfaces it gets stuck on startup at the starting SeaBIOS page with this message: Starting SeaBIOS (version pre-0.6.1-20100702_143500-palmer) So far I've verified this with two VM's, a Ubuntu 10.10 desktop and a Vyatta router. The specific network hardware I assign to the VM's doesn't seem to matter. I'm trying to have one bridged interface and three private networks using Vyatta to route between them. Does anyone know why I can't run a VM with more than three network interfaces? Edit: Additionally the KVM thread responsible for the specific VM hangs using ~100% CPU (i.e. one core). Installing Glassfish 3.1 on Ubuntu 10.10 Server

I've used the directions here to successfully install Glassfish 3.0.1 on an virtualized (VirtualBox and VMWare) Ubuntu 10.10 Server instance without any real difficulty not resolved by more closely following the directions. However when I try applying them to Glassfish 3.1, I seem to keep getting stuck at section 6. "Security configuration before first startup". In particular, there are some differences I noted: 1) There are two keys in the default keystore. The 's1as' key is still there, but another named 'glassfish-instance' is also there. When I saw this, I deleted and recreated them both along with a 'myAlias' key which I was going to use where needed. 2) When turning the security on it seems like part of the server thinks it's on, but others don't. I'm attempting to use the pciback module to hide some of the Ethernet ports from the host and reserve them for a domU I intend to use for a firewall (process described here). kvm process has too large a memory footprint on host

Now after a few hours I can see that the kvm process of this guest is around 2700 MB, so 700 MB more than the guest should be able to consume. DIsable my nv video card driver in linux

I'm trying to passthrough my nv video card to my domU, but I could not bind my video card to the pciback driver I only have one video card with the pci number 0000:03:00.0, so I used the following command echo -n "0000:03:00.0" > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/nouveau/bind to unbind the nouveau driver from my video card. The screen went black because I have forcefully removed the video driver, therefore I ssh'd into the computer to run further commands I ran: echo -n "0000:03:00.0" > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/pciback/bind to try to bind it to my pciback driver, but I got: bash: echo: write error: No such device I found out that this was the message shown when trying to bind a PCI device which is already bound. Therefore, I think that something was still using my video card Can anyone help me out? Thanks a lot!

Sound & video problem with Toshiba Satellite L35-SP1011

I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 on a Satellite L35-SP1011 and there's no sound. Actually i have many video problems cause i had to disable effect because when it had effect activated, laptop got frozen many times. I saw this problem but in older ubuntu versions and tried some fixes without success. Any idea on how to solve my audio and video problems? Strange Ubuntu Random Display [Video]

I had this random display issue ever since Ubuntu 11.04 and now running Ubuntu 11.10 and this problem still persist. It is very hard for me to explain, so I uploaded a video to elaborate itself. Before I convert from Windows 7, this issue never happened. The symptom is so random that I cannot reproduce or tell precisely when will this happen again. My wild guess is, should this be related to driver?
