  • handling javaScript alerts when running a selenium test?

    Hi I am am running some selenium tests(ruby) on my web page and as i enter an invalid characters in to a text box i have the JavaScript throw a alert like so if(isNaN($(this).val()) || Number($(this).val().valueOf() <=0)){ alert("Please Enter A Number"); } how can i handle this alert when its made and close the pop up? i tried to use the wait_for_pop_up() and close() but i think that's only for browser pop up's and not JavaScript alerts. any ideas? thanks

  • What jquery rails 3 tutorial has worked well for you?

    Hi! I have looked at several tutorials involving rails 3 and jquery. The tutorial at http://www.blog.bridgeutopiaweb.com/post/how-to-use-jquery-for-rails-3/ looked promising. However, I get the errors of document.on is not a function and $("a[data-remote=true]").livequery is not a function I get the feeling that I should look at another tutorial or just use jquery raw and not install a ruby gem for jquery. Any advice? Thanks!

We're gonna use mainly open source tools and languages like, ruby, rails, PHP and mysql and photoshop (or something equivalent on Linux) for design.   • validation of password with ()-=_+

    I am not able to validate passord with ()-=_+ , i.e it should accept these special characters but its not working when i use the regular expression as `validates_format_of :password, :with => /^[A-Za-z0-9. ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ - + = ]*\z/` its only excepting till * but not accepting ()-=_+ in ruby on rails.

    I'm learning Ruby on Rails. I'm using some associations (has_many :through, ...) But i'm having some problems with it when i'm combining my views. How exactly do i combine these nested forms? Can i do this with partial forms and where do i have to write extra code for this? I have seen examples only use the "view" and others also edit the controller.... An example would be very nice :-)

    HI, I used to have PHP websites and using url rewriting on picture to have SEO friendly urls, On php I had links like /image/blablablabla-1234-blablabla rewriting to: /image/1234.jpg by using a url rewrite rule on apache .htaccess file.   • File size in Python server

    We have server on Python and client + web service on Ruby. That works only if file from URL is less than 800 k. It seems like "socket.puts data" in a client works, but "output = socket.gets" - not. I think problem is in a Python part. For big files tests run "Connection reset by peer". Is it buffer size variable by default somewhere in a Python?

    I'm creating a simple paste-bin in Ruby on Rails, which will have an expire-feature. With this, people can select a date when the paste will be deleted automatically. How can I implement this? In Ruby you can override any built-in object class with custom method, like this: class String def sayHello return self+" is saying hello!" end end puts 'JOHN'.downcase.sayHello # >>> 'john is saying hello!'   • Paperclip not running tasks but not showing errors

    This is strange. I just did a deploy to a cluster server, and since then, pictures have not been processing. Reading the logs, I usually do not get an error at all, but they never finish. However, on one particular image, I found this little bit at least, but this might not explain everything.. Any ideas?
