  • Including configuration files while compiling a Flex application with MXMLC

    - by Daniel
Hello there, I'm using: - Flex SDK 3.5.0 - Parsley 2.2.2. - Flash Builder 4 Down in my src folder (which is configured as part of the source path in the Flash Builder), I have a logging.xml which I configure via Parsley: FlexLoggingXmlSupport.initialize(); XmlContextBuilder.build("com/company/product/util/log/logging.xml"); When I run my application through Flash Builder, the XmlContentBuilder seems to locate the logging.xml (the implementation is a regular URLLoader one). When I compile my application using MXMLC (whether in Ant or command-line), and then run the swf, I get the following error: Cause(0): Error loading com/company/product/util/log/logging.xml: Error in URLLoader - cause: Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: file:///C|/workspace/folder01/product/target/com/company/product/util/log/logging.xml - cause: Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: file:///C|/workspace/folder01/product/target/com/company/product/util/log/logging.xml Here is the MXMLC tag in Ant: <mxmlc file="${product.src.dir}/com/company/product/view/Main.mxml" output="${product.target.dir}/${product.release.filename}" keep-generated-actionscript="false"> <load-config filename="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/flex-config.xml" /> <!-- source paths --> <source-path path-element="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks" /> <compiler.source-path path-element="${product.src.dir}" /> <compiler.source-path path-element="${product.locale.dir}/{locale}" /> <compiler.library-path dir="${product.basedir}" append="true"> <include name="libs" /> </compiler.library-path> <warnings>false</warnings> <debug>false</debug> </mxmlc> And here is the command line: \mxmlc.exe -output "C:\temp\Rap.swf" -load-config "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plug-in\sdks\3.5.0\frameworks\flex-config.xml" -source-path "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plug-in\sdks\3.5.0\frameworks" C:\workspace\folder01\product\src C:\workspace\folder01\product\locale\en_US -library-path+=C:\workspace\folder01\product\libs -file-specs C:\workspace\folder01\product\src\com\company\product\view\main.mxml Now perhaps I don't get this correctly, but as far as I understand the SWF should be compiled with all of the resources in the paths I give MXMLC as source-paths. For some reason it seems that the XML file is not compiled into the SWF, hence the relative path of the XmlContentBuilder isn't located successfully. I could not find any argument to provide the MXMLC with that might solve this. I tried using the -dump-config option with the Flash Builder's compiler, then giving that configuration to MXMLC, but it didn't work either. I tried providing the XmlContentBuilder with an absolute path. That worked fine when I compiled with MXMLC via Ant, but still didn't work when I used MXMLC in the command-line... I'd be happy to be enlightened here, regarding all subjects - using MXMLC, accessing resources with relative paths, configuring logging in Parsley, etc. Many thanks in advance, Daniel

  • Eye candy in OpenGL

    - by anon
I'm interested in creating realtime visual special effects. I am limited to OpenGL (in particular, computing power of a MacBook Pro). I want to learn more about doing cool UI/special effects (think the "computers/displays" in Iron Man / Avatar). What are good books/resources for this? Thanks!

  • Cannot use standard android color attribute in custom color selector

    - by Manish Gupta
So, android defines the following in themes.xml: <style name="Theme"> ... <item name="colorPressedHighlight">@color/legacy_pressed_highlight</item> </style> and: <style name="Theme.Holo"> ... <item name="colorPressedHighlight">@color/holo_blue_light</item> </style> I want to use this colorPressedHighlight as the background color for my custom Button when it is pressed. So I defined the following in res/color/app_button_background.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" > <item android:state_pressed="true" android:drawable="?android:colorPressedHighlight"/> <item android:drawable="@android:color/transparent" /> </selector> Finally, I define my custom ImageButton style: <style name="App_ImageButtonStyle" parent="@android:style/Widget.ImageButton"> <item name="android:gravity">center</item> <item name="android:background">@color/app_button_background</item> </style> I crash on app launch with the following call stack: 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): Caused by: org.xmlpull.v1.XmlPullParserException: Binary XML file line #6: <item> tag requires a 'drawable' attribute or child tag defining a drawable 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): at android.graphics.drawable.StateListDrawable.inflate(StateListDrawable.java:178) 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): at android.graphics.drawable.Drawable.createFromXmlInner(Drawable.java:867) 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): at android.graphics.drawable.Drawable.createFromXml(Drawable.java:804) 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): at android.content.res.Resources.loadDrawable(Resources.java:1920) I know that directly accessing @color/legacy_pressed_highlight or @color/holo_blue_light instead of accessing them through the colorPressedHighlight fixes the crash but it does not solve the problem. Themes can vary, hence I need to access it through the colorPressedHighlight attribute. PS: I had a similar problem to which I haven't found an answer yet. Can someone please help!

    - by Soren

I have found "Spanned fromHtml(String source)", but I don't know how to plug it into my java code. Here is my Java: package com.SorenWinslow.TriumphHistory; import android.app.ListActivity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.ArrayAdapter; public class TriumphHistory extends ListActivity { String[] HistoryList; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); ArrayAdapter<String> adapter; HistoryList = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.history); adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String> (this,R.layout.historylistlayout,HistoryList); setListAdapter(adapter); } } Here is a sample of history: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <resources> <string-array name="history"> <item><b>1883</b><br/>Some stuff happened</item> <item><b>1884</b><br/>Some more stuff happened <i>before</i> the other stuff </item> <resources> Here is my historylistlayout.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <TextView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@android:id/text1" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceLarge" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:textColor="#ffffff" android:background="#000050" android:layout_marginTop="5px" android:minHeight="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight" android:padding="3px" android:textSize="8pt" android:layout_gravity="top|left"/> And here is my main.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:textColor="#ffffff" android:background="#000080" android:isScrollContainer="true" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:scrollbarStyle="insideOverlay"> <ListView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@android:id/list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:clickable="true" android:dividerHeight="1px"/> </LinearLayout>

  • Programming for Multi core Processors

    - by Chathuranga Chandrasekara
As far as I know, the multi-core architecture in a processor does not effect the program. The actual instruction execution is handled in a lower layer. my question is, Given that you have a multicore environment, Can I use any programming practices to utilize the available resources more effectively? How should I change my code to gain more performance in multicore environments?

  • Generic styles for DataGridTemplateColumn Headers & Cells

    - by user557765
    I am struggling to define templates for my DataGrid columns. Here is the code that I have working at the moment: <t:DataGrid.Columns> <t:DataGridTemplateColumn Width="75" > <t:DataGridTemplateColumn.HeaderTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Style="{StaticResource FieldNameVertical}" Text="Date" /> </DataTemplate> </t:DataGridTemplateColumn.HeaderTemplate> <t:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Style="{StaticResource FieldValue}" Text="{Binding ModifiedDate, StringFormat='{}{0:MM/dd/yyyy}'}" /> </DataTemplate> </t:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </t:DataGridTemplateColumn> .. .. .. </t:DataGrid.Columns> I would like to define HeaderTemplate & CellTemplate as reusable styles -- so that each column would be as brief as something like this: <t:DataGrid.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="dgHeaderStyle"> <TextBlock Style="{StaticResource FieldNameVertical}" Text="{Binding}" /> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate x:Key="dgCellStyle"> <TextBlock Style="{StaticResource FieldValue}" Text="{Binding}" /> </DataTemplate> </t:DataGrid.Resources> <t:DataGrid.Columns> <t:DataGridTemplateColumn Width="75" Header="Date" Binding="{Binding ModifiedDate, StringFormat='{}{0:MM/dd/yyyy}'}" HeaderTemplate="{StaticResource dgHeaderStyle}" CellTemplate="{StaticResource dgCellStyle}" /> <t:DataGridTemplateColumn Width="100" Header="Dealer" HeaderTemplate="{StaticResource dgHeaderStyle}" CellTemplate="{StaticResource dgCellStyle}" /> ... </t:DataGrid.Columns> Every attempt I make has failed. I had hoped to implement something like the "solution" snippet in the initial entry of WPF DataGrid HeaderTemplate Mysterious Padding. However, I can't seem to adapt it to what I'm doing.

  • Parallel programming patterns for C#?

    - by VoidDweller
With Intel's launch of a Hexa-Core processor for the desktop, it looks like we can no longer wait for Microsoft to make many-core programming "easy". I just order a copy of Joe Duffy's book Concurrent Programming on Windows. This looks like a great place to start, though, I am hoping some of you who have been targeting multi/many core systems would point me to some good resources that have or would have helped on your projects?

  • Preview SMS format when sending email to SMS

    - by jarrett
I'm using carrier-specific addresses to send email to SMS, which works fine. In reference to the answer of this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1179854/limitations-on-sms-messages-sent-using-free-email-sms-gateways is there any websites or other resources that list the format that is delivered for each carrier. ATT for example delivers the SMS with some added formatting that is not present with T-Mobile. I realize this is not a coding question, but since I can only see this question arising for someone that is creating email to SMS specific applications, it seems relevant to SO.

  • java.lang.Error: "Not enough storage is available to process this command" when generating images

    - by jhericks
I am running a web application on BEA Weblogic 9.2. Until recently, we were using JDK 1.5.0_04, with JAI 1.1.2_01 and Image IO 1.1. In some circumstances (we never figured out exactly why), when we were processing large images (but not that large - a few MB), the JVM would crash without any error message or stack trace or anything. This didn't happen much in production, but enough to be a nuisance and eventually we were able to reproduce it. We decided to switch to JRockit90 1.5.0_04 and we were no longer able to reproduce the problem in our test environment, so we thought we had it licked. Now, however, after the application server has been up for a while, we start getting the error message, "Not enough storage is available to process this command" during image operations. For example: java.lang.Error: Error starting thread: Not enough storage is available to process this command. at java.lang.Thread.start()V(Unknown Source) at sun.awt.image.ImageFetcher$1.run(ImageFetcher.java:279) at sun.awt.image.ImageFetcher.createFetchers(ImageFetcher.java:272) at sun.awt.image.ImageFetcher.add(ImageFetcher.java:55) at sun.awt.image.InputStreamImageSource.startProduction(InputStreamImageSource.java:149) at sun.awt.image.InputStreamImageSource.addConsumer(InputStreamImageSource.java:106) at sun.awt.image.InputStreamImageSource.startProduction(InputStreamImageSource.java:144) at sun.awt.image.ImageRepresentation.startProduction(ImageRepresentation.java:647) at sun.awt.image.ImageRepresentation.prepare(ImageRepresentation.java:684) at sun.awt.SunToolkit.prepareImage(SunToolkit.java:734) at java.awt.Component.prepareImage(Component.java:3073) at java.awt.ImageMediaEntry.startLoad(MediaTracker.java:906) at java.awt.MediaEntry.getStatus(MediaTracker.java:851) at java.awt.ImageMediaEntry.getStatus(MediaTracker.java:902) at java.awt.MediaTracker.statusAll(MediaTracker.java:454) at java.awt.MediaTracker.waitForAll(MediaTracker.java:405) at java.awt.MediaTracker.waitForAll(MediaTracker.java:375) at SfxNET.System.Drawing.ImageLoader.loadImage(Ljava.awt.Image;)Ljava.awt.image.BufferedImage;(Unknown Source) at SfxNET.System.Drawing.ImageLoader.loadImage(Ljava.net.URL;)Ljava.awt.image.BufferedImage;(Unknown Source) at Resources.Tools.Commands.W$zw(Ljava.lang.ClassLoader;)V(Unknown Source) at Resources.Tools.Commands.getContents()[[Ljava.lang.Object;(Unknown Source) at SfxNET.sfxUtils.SfxResourceBundle.handleGetObject(Ljava.lang.String;)Ljava.lang.Object;(Unknown Source) at java.util.ResourceBundle.getObject(ResourceBundle.java:320) at SoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.wxvw.yxWW(Ljava.lang.String;Z)Ljava.lang.Object;(Unknown Source) at SoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.wxvw.vxWW(Ljava.lang.String;)Ljava.lang.Object;(Unknown Source) at SoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.CommandBar.YWww(LSoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.wxvw;IIII)V(Unknown Source) at SoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.Internet.Server.xxvw.YzzW(LSoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.Internet.Server.ChartCore;Z)LSoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.CommandBar;(Unknown Source) at SoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.Internet.Server.xxvw.XzzW(LSoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.Internet.Server.ChartCore;)V(Unknown Source) at SoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.Internet.Server.ChartCore.OnDeserialization(Ljava.lang.Object;)V(Unknown Source) at SoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.Internet.Server.ChartCore.Zvvz(LSoftwareFX.internal.ChartFX.Base.wzzy;)V(Unknown Source) Has anyone seen something like this before? • DataMining / Analyzing responses to Multiple Choice Questions in a survey

    - by Shailesh Tainwala
Hi, I have a set of training data consisting of 20 multiple choice questions (A/B/C/D) answered by a hundred respondents. The answers are purely categorical and cannot be scaled to numerical values. 50 of these respondents were selected for free product trial. The selection process is not known. What interesting knowledge can be mined from this information? The following is a list of what I have come up with so far- A study of percentages (Example - Percentage of people who answered B on Qs.5 and got selected for free product trial) Conditional probabilities (Example - What is the probability that a person will get selected for free product trial given that he answered B on Qs.5) Naive Bayesian classifier (This can be used to predict whether a person will be selected or not for a given set of values for any subset of questions). Can you think of any other interesting analysis or data-mining activities that can be performed? The usual suspects like correlation can be eliminated as the response is not quantifiable/scoreable. Is my approach correct?

  • DataTrigger only works on first TabItem in TabControl

    - by JustusJonas
    Hi! It seems like a bug in WPF, but maybe someone has an answers to this. I have a DataTrigger for an editable ComboBox. It works on the first TabItem of my TabControl, but not on the second. If you switch the first with the second TabItem, the "second" will work. The same effect happens when you give the style exactly to the ComboBox (ComboBox.Stye ...). <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="640" Height="480"> <Window.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}"> <Setter Property="Height" Value="25" /> <Setter Property="Width" Value="125" /> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding ElementName=PART_EditableTextBox, Path=IsFocused}" Value="True"> <Setter Property="BitmapEffect"> <Setter.Value> <OuterGlowBitmapEffect GlowColor="Red" GlowSize="5" /> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Window.Resources> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <TabControl> <TabItem Header="TabItem1"> <Grid> <ComboBox IsEditable="True"/> </Grid> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem2"> <Grid> <ComboBox IsEditable="True"/> </Grid> </TabItem> </TabControl> </Grid>

  • WPF - Redrawing a Context Menu when Items change?

    - by Rachel
I have a ItemsControl in a ScrollViewer, and when the items exceed the width of the ScrollViewer they are put into a ContextMenu and shown as a DropDown instead. My problem is that when the Context Menu is first loaded, it saves the saves the size of the Menu and does not redraw when more commands get added/removed. For example, a panel has 3 commands. 1 is visible and 2 are in the Menu. Viewing the menu shows the 2 commands and draws the control, but then if you resize the panel so 2 are visible and only 1 command is in the menu, it doesn't redraw the menu to eliminate that second menu item. Or even worse, if you shrink the panel so that no commands are shown and all 3 are in the Menu, it will only show the top 2. Here's my code: <Button Click="DropDownMenu_Click" ContextMenuOpening="DropDownMenu_ContextMenuOpening"> <Button.ContextMenu> <ContextMenu ItemsSource="{Binding Path=MenuCommands}" Placement="Bottom"> <ContextMenu.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type MenuItem}"> <Setter Property="Command" Value="{Binding Path=Command}" /> <Setter Property="Visibility" Value="{Binding Path=IsVisible, Converter={StaticResource ReverseBooleanToVisibilityConverter}}"/> </Style> </ContextMenu.Resources> <ContextMenu.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=DisplayName}" /> </DataTemplate> </ContextMenu.ItemTemplate> </ContextMenu> </Button.ContextMenu> </Button> Code Behind: void DropDownMenu_ContextMenuOpening(object sender, ContextMenuEventArgs e) { Button b = sender as Button; b.ContextMenu.IsOpen = false; e.Handled = true; } private void DropDownMenu_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { Button b = sender as Button; ContextMenu cMenu = b.ContextMenu; if (cMenu != null) { cMenu.PlacementTarget = b; cMenu.Placement = System.Windows.Controls.Primitives.PlacementMode.Bottom; } } I have tried using InvalidateVisual and passing an empty delegate on Render to try and force a redraw, however neither works. I'm using .Net 4.0.
