  • Get control instance in asp.net dynamic data

    - by Ashwani K
Hello All: I am creating a web application using Asp.net dynamic data. I am using GridView to show data from the database. In the grid view I am having following code for columns <Columns> <asp:DynamicField DataField="UserId" UIHint="Label" /> <asp:DynamicField DataField="Address" UIHint="Address"/> <asp:DynamicField DataField="CreatedDate" UIHint="Label" /> </Columns> But, before displaying I want to do some processing in C# code for each row. In normal ASP.net grid view we can handle OnRowDataBound method, and using FindControl("controlid") we can get the control instance, but in case of dynamic data, I am not getting any id attribute for columns, so I am not able to get the control instance to show updated data in that control depending on some conditions. Thanks, Ashwani

  • Default Values in XForms Input

    - by Josh
I have an XForm that has certain fields that may often be left blank (optional street address). Is there is technique to set a default value for that field, preferably a space (I am running into weird formatting issues with CSS). The html form way of value="" doesn't work, neither does setting a default value in the XML schema. EXAMPLE: <xforms:input ref="clientaddress/streetaddress2" model="model_inventory" > <xforms:label>Street Address (Line 2)</xforms:label> Leaving this field blank results in <streetaddress2/> in the resulting xml document I want <streetaddress> </streetaddress>

I would like an extension to render the label correctly (i.e. with the for="" attribute having the value of the input id), is there anything in MVC 2 that does this nativly before I go writing my own extension?

  • Functions as pointers in Objective-C

    - by richman0829
This is a question from Learn Objective-C on the Mac... Functions as pointers What I typed in, as per the recipe, was: NSString *boolString (BOOL yesNo) { if (yesNo) { return (@"YES"); } else { return (@"NO"); } } // boolString The pointer asterisk in the first line doesn't seem necessary, yet deleting it results in an error message. But what does it do? In NSString * boolString (yesNo); what seems to be going on is a function is defined as a pointer to an NSString. The function without the asterisk NSLog (@"are %d and %d different? %@", 5, 5, boolString(areTheyDifferent)); returns an NSString of YES or NO. But how can it return an NSString when it's a pointer? It might return the ADDRESS of an NSString; or if dereferenced it could return the CONTENTS of that address (an NSString such as YES or NO). Yet I see no place where it is dereferenced.

  • php cURL POST how to follow location

    - by webfac
Hi Guys, I am in a bit of a rut with a cURL issue. The post works greate, the data is POSTED just fine and received ok, but the url of the posted page never appears in the browser after the cURL session is executed, for example look at the following code: $ch = curl_init("http://localhost/eterniti/cart-step-1.php"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, "error=1&em=$em&fname=$fname&lname=$lname&email1=$email1&email2=$email2&code=$code&area=$area&number=$num&mobile=$mobile&address1=$address1&address2=$address2&address3=$address3&suburb=$suburb&postcode=$postcode&country=$country"); curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); The post works fine and I am taken to the cart-step-1.php where I can process the posted data, HOWEVER the location in the URL address bar of the browser remains that of the script page, in this case proc_xxxxxx.php Any ideas how to get the URL address to reflect the page I am actually POSTED to? Thanks a mill

  • Ajax method within a added method in jQuery validator

    - by nikospkrk
Hi, I'm kind of stuck with this pretty simple (I'm sure) jQuery/Javascript issue. Here's the code : jQuery.validator.addMethod("emailExists", function(value, element, param) { var email = value || ''; var valid = 0; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: param, data: "email=" + email, success: function(msg) { if (msg != '' && msg) { valid = 0; } else { valid = 1; } } }); return valid; }, "* Email address already registered, please login."); This function is called where a user type his email address in a registration form, and everything seems to work perfectly, except that my valid variable returned isn't updated, whereas when I use an alert box it is properly done! It looks like it return the value before the AJAX is done, any idea? Cheers, Nicolas.

  • What is the difference between Java RMI and JMS?

    - by Sanoj
When designing an distributed application in Java there seams to be a few technologies that address the same kind of problem. I have briefly read about Java Remote Method Invocation and Java Message Service, but it is hard to really see the difference. Java RMI seams to be more tightly coupled than JMS because JMS use asynchronous communication, but otherwise I don't see any big differences. What is the difference between them? Is one of them newer than the other one? Which one is more common/popular in enterprises? What advantages do they have over eachother? When is one preferred over the other? Do they differ much in how difficult they are to implement? I also think that Web Services and CORBA address the same problem.

  • How to embed html table into the bpdy of email

    - by Michael Mao
Hi all: I am sending info to target email via PHP native mail() method right now. Everything else works fine but the table part troubles me the most. See sample output : Dear Michael Mao : Thank you for purchasing flight tickets with us, here is your receipt : Your tickets will be delivered by mail to the following address : Street Address 1 : sdfsdafsadf sdf Street Address 2 : N/A City : Sydney State : nsw Postcode : 2 Country : Australia Credit Card Number : *************1234 Your purchase details are recorded as : <table><tr><th class="delete">del?</th><th class="from_city">from</th><th class="to_city">to</th><th class="quantity">qty</th><th class="price">unit price</th><th class="price">total price</th></tr><tr class="evenrow" id="Sydney-Lima"><td><input name="isDeleting" type="checkbox"></td><td>Sydney</td><td>Lima</td><td>1</td><td>1030.00</td><td>1030</td></tr><tr class="oddrow" id="Sydney-Perth"><td><input name="isDeleting" type="checkbox"></td><td>Sydney</td><td>Perth</td><td>3</td><td>340.00</td><td>1020</td></tr><tr class="totalprice"><td colspan="5">Grand Total Price</td><td id="grandtotal">2050</td></tr></table> The source of table is directly taken from a webpage, exactly as the same. However, Gmail, Hotmail and most of other emails will ignore to render this as a table. So I am wondering, without using Outlook or other email sending agent software, how could I craft a embedded table for the PHP mail() method to send? Current code snippet corresponds to table generation : $purchaseinfo = $_POST["purchaseinfo"]; //if html tags are not to be filtered in the body of email $stringBuilder .= "<table>" .stripslashes($purchaseinfo) ."</table>"; //must send json response back to caller ajax request if(mail($email, 'Your purchase information on www.hardlyworldtravel.com', $emailbody, $headers)) echo json_encode(array("feedback"=>"successful")); else echo json_encode(array("feedback"=>"error")); Any hints and suggestions are welcomed, thanks a lot in advance.

  • Hibernate: How do I link a subclass to its superclass?

    - by Markus
Hey there! I'm having a little problem setting up my webshop project. Thing is, I have a User() superclass and two subclasses, PrivateUser and BusinessUser. Now, I'm not quite sure how to get my head around storing this relationship via hibernate. For the purpose of this question, the User() class contains only one field: String address; the PrivateUser contains: String firstName; and the BusinessUser contains: String CompanyName; Each field has its getter and setter. As is right now, I would only store and be able to get firstName and companyName. When I fetch a user from my DB using Hibernate I would get a PrivateUser/BusinessUser with a null address. Bottom line is, could someone point me towards a useful tutorial or better yet show a similar example code? Thanks!

  • Cannot complete a JSONP call from jQuery to WCF

    - by Dusda
    Okay, I am trying (poorly) to successfully make a JSONP call from jQuery on a test page to a WCF web service running locally, as a cross-domain call. I have, at one point or another, either gotten a 1012 URI denied error, gotten a response but in Xml, or just had no response at all. Currently, the way I have it configured it spits back a 1012. I did not write this web service, so it is entirely possible that I am just missing a configuration setting somewhere, but I've become so frustrated with it that I think just asking on here will be more productive. Thanks guys. Details below. I have a WCF web service with the following method: [ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)] public decimal GetOrderStatusJson(int jobId) I am trying to call this method from a jQuery test page, via a cross-domain JSONP call. <script type="text/javascript"> getJsonAjaxObject( "http://localhost:3960/ProcessRequests.svc/json/GetOrderStatusJson", { "jobId": 232 }); function getJsonAjaxObject(webServiceUrl, jsonData) { var request = { type: "POST", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", url: webServiceUrl, data: jsonData, dataType: "jsonp", success: function(msg) { //success! alert("blah"); }, error: function() { //oh nos alert("bad blah"); } }; $.ajax(request); } </script> Below are the chunks of the web.config I configure for this purpose: <services> <service behaviorConfiguration="MWProcessRequestWCF.ProcessRequestsBehavior" name="MWProcessRequestWCF.ProcessRequests"> <endpoint address="json" behaviorConfiguration="AspNetAjaxBehavior" binding="webHttpBinding" contract="MWProcessRequestWCF.IProcessRequests" /> <endpoint address="" binding="wsHttpBinding" contract="MWProcessRequestWCF.IProcessRequests"> <identity> <dns value="localhost" /> </identity> </endpoint> <endpoint address="mex" binding="mexHttpBinding" contract="IMetadataExchange" /> </service> </services> <behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name="MWProcessRequestWCF.ProcessRequestsBehavior"> <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true"/> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="false"/> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> <endpointBehaviors> <behavior name="AspNetAjaxBehavior"> <enableWebScript/> </behavior> </endpointBehaviors> </behaviors>

  • iPhone link to map directions using string "current location" not lat and lng for saddr

    - by Nick
I know there are numerous questions about how to construct a sharedApplication link to the maps app specifying the start and end address with coordinates. I've got that working no problem. Has anyone found a way to link with a source address generically specified as "current location". I ask because the scenario I'm working on having Core Location or a UIMapView would only be necessary in order to determine the user location prior to handing off to the map app where the user locating would seem to just happen again. I've tried throwing UTF8'd "Current Location" and "[Current Location]" into the saddr parameter which amusingly starts from Current Montana. I've also tried simply excluding the saddr param. I know this is often tread territory but this particular situation wasn't covered by anything I found searching here or on mapki. Before I add the core location code I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a more limited way to tackle this. Thanks

  • how iterate over class members java (app-engine)

    - by Alexandre H. Tremblay
Hello, I am using the java version of the google app engine. I would like to create a function that can receive as parameters many types of objects. I would like to print out the members of the object. Each objects may be different and the function must work for all objects. Do I have to use reflection - if so, what kind of code do I need to write? public class dataOrganization { private String name; private String contact; private PostalAddress address; public dataOrganization(){} } public int getObject(Object obj){ // This function prints out the name of every // member of the object, the type and the value // In this example, it would print out "name - String - null", // "contact - String - null" and "address - PostalAddress - null" } How would I write the function getObject?

  • How to set the base path in IIS 7 hosting a WCF application?

    - by curiouscoder
I've been fighting my way through the process of migrating a (previously self-hosted) WCF application to IIS7 (I've never used IIS before and I realise that this is a very simplistic question but I failed to google/SO the answer so far). My service is hosted at http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/SampleWebsite/Service.svc but when I access it with ?wsdl all the references that should read http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ are actually set to the window machine's local network name (i.e. http://localpc3/). I've tried using the WCF tool to add the external IP address to the base address section under the service I'm configuring as well as a number of setting inside IIS but I can't seem to track down the correct place. Where do I set this? IIS manager, web.config, somewhere else?

  • Convert json to a string using jquery

    - by becomingGuru
I have a nested json. I want to post it as a form input value. But, seems like jquery puts "Object object" string into the value. It seems easier to pass around the string and convert into the native form I need, than dealing with json as I don't need to change anything once it is generated. What is the simplest way to convert a json var json = { "firstName": "John", "lastName": "Smith", "age": 25, "address": { "streetAddress": "21 2nd Street", "city": "New York", "state": "NY", "postalCode": "10021" }, "phoneNumber": [ { "type": "home", "number": "212 555-1234" }, { "type": "fax", "number": "646 555-4567" } ], "newSubscription": false, "companyName": null }; into its string form? var json = '{ "firstName": "John", "lastName": "Smith", "age": 25, "address": { "streetAddress": "21 2nd Street", "city": "New York", "state": "NY", "postalCode": "10021" }, "phoneNumber": [ { "type": "home", "number": "212 555-1234" }, { "type": "fax", "number": "646 555-4567" } ], "newSubscription": false, "companyName": null }' Following doesn't do what I need: Json.stringify()

  • Javascript closures with google geocoder

    - by DaNieL
Hi all, i still have some problems with javascript closures, and input/output variables. Im playing with google maps api for a no profit project: users will place the marker into a gmap, and I have to save the locality (with coordinates) in my db. The problem comes when i need to do a second geocode in order to get a unique pairs of lat and lng for a location: lets say two users place the marker in the same town but in different places, I dont want to have the same locality twice in the database with differents coords. I know i can do the second geocode after the user select the locality, but i want to understand what am i mistaking here: // First geocoding, take the marker coords to get locality. geocoder.geocode( { 'latLng': new google.maps.LatLng($("#lat").val(), $("#lng").val()), 'language': 'it' }, function(results_1, status_1){ // initialize the html var inside this closure var html = ''; if(status_1 == google.maps.GeocoderStatus.OK) { // do stuff here for(i = 0, geolen = results_1[0].address_components.length; i != geolen) { // Second type of geocoding: for each location from the first geocoding, // i want to have a unique [lat, lan] geocoder.geocode( { 'address': results_1[0].address_components[i].long_name }, function(results_2, status_2){ // Here come the problem. I need to have the long_name here, and // 'html' var should increment. coords = results_2[0].geometry.location.toUrlValue(); html += 'some html to let the user choose the locality'; } ); } // Finally, insert the 'html' variable value into my dom... //but it never gets updated! } else { alert("Error from google geocoder:" + status_1) } } ); I tryed with: // Second type of geocoding: for each location from the first geocoding, i want // to have a unique [lat, lan] geocoder.geocode( { 'address': results_1[0].address_components[i].long_name }, (function(results_2, status_2, long_name){ // But in this way i'll never get results_2 or status_2, well, results_2 // get long_name value, status_2 and long_name is undefined. // However, html var is correctly updated. coords = results_2[0].geometry.location.toUrlValue(); html += 'some html to let the user choose the locality'; })(results_1[0].address_components[i].long_name) ); And with: // Second type of geocoding: for each location from the first geocoding, i want to have // a unique [lat, lan] geocoder.geocode( { 'address': results_1[0].address_components[i].long_name }, (function(results_2, status_2, long_name){ // But i get an obvious "results_2 is not defined" error (same for status_2). coords = results_2[0].geometry.location.toUrlValue(); html += 'some html to let the user choose the locality, that can be more than one'; })(results_2, status_2, results_1[0].address_components[i].long_name) ); Any suggestion? EDIT: My problem is how to pass an additional arguments to the geocoder inner function: function(results_2, status_2, long_name){ //[...] } becose if i do that with a clousure, I mess with the original parameters (results_2 and status_2)

  • SharpSSH gets stuck in an infinite stream read in C# SSH app

    - by Ric Coles
Afternoon all, I'm having a small problem with the SharpSSH library for .Net (see http://www.tamirgal.com/blog/page/SharpSSH.aspx) SshStream ssh = new SshStream("some ip address", "some username", "some password"); ssh.Prompt = "\n"; ssh.RemoveTerminalEmulationCharacters = true; ssh.Write("ssh some ip address"); // Don't care about this response ssh.ReadResponse(); ssh.Write("lss /mnt/sata[1-4]"); // Don't care about this response (for now) ssh.ReadResponse(); // while the stream can be read while (ssh.CanRead) { Console.WriteLine(ssh.ReadResponse()); } ssh.Close(); As you can see, it's fairly straight forward. However, when the while-loop gets stepped into, it won't break out of the loop when everything has been printed to the console and there is nothing else to read. Is there anyway I can manually force it to break when there is nothing else to be read? Cheers, Ric

  • A couple questions using fwrite/fread with data structures

    - by Nazgulled
Hi, I'm using fwrite() and fread() for the first time to write some data structures to disk and I have a couple of questions about best practices and proper ways of doing things. What I'm writing to disk (so I can later read it back) is all user profiles inserted in a Graph structure. Each graph vertex is of the following type: typedef struct sUserProfile { char name[NAME_SZ]; char address[ADDRESS_SZ]; int socialNumber; char password[PASSWORD_SZ]; HashTable *mailbox; short msgCount; } UserProfile; And this is how I'm currently writing all the profiles to disk: void ioWriteNetworkState(SocialNetwork *social) { Vertex *currPtr = social->usersNetwork->vertices; UserProfile *user; FILE *fp = fopen("save/profiles.dat", "w"); if(!fp) { perror("fopen"); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } fwrite(&(social->usersCount), sizeof(int), 1, fp); while(currPtr) { user = (UserProfile*)currPtr->value; fwrite(&(user->socialNumber), sizeof(int), 1, fp); fwrite(user->name, sizeof(char)*strlen(user->name), 1, fp); fwrite(user->address, sizeof(char)*strlen(user->address), 1, fp); fwrite(user->password, sizeof(char)*strlen(user->password), 1, fp); fwrite(&(user->msgCount), sizeof(short), 1, fp); break; currPtr = currPtr->next; } fclose(fp); } Notes: The first fwrite() you see will write the total user count in the graph so I know how much data I need to read back. The break is there for testing purposes. There's thousands of users and I'm still experimenting with the code. My questions: After reading this I decided to use fwrite() on each element instead of writing the whole structure. I also avoid writing the pointer to to the mailbox as I don't need to save that pointer. So, is this the way to go? Multiple fwrite()'s instead of a global one for the whole structure? Isn't that slower? How do I read back this content? I know I have to use fread() but I don't know the size of the strings, cause I used strlen() to write them. I could write the output of strlen() before writing the string, but is there any better way without extra writes?

  • How do I display two different objects in a search?

The following method displays objects which are close to 2, but it does not display object 2. How do I display object 2 in conjunction with the nearby objects? @adds = Add.find(2).nearbys(10) While the above code functions, when I use search, @adds = Add.search(params[:search]).nearbys(10) a no method error is returned, undefined methodnearbys' for Array:0x30c3278` How can I search the model for an object AND use the nearbys() method AND display all results returned? • is there a way using Ruby's net/http to post form data to an http proxy?

    - by Derek P.
I have a basic Squid server setup and I am trying to use Ruby's Net::HTTP::Proxy class to send a POST of form data to a specified HTTP endpoint. I assumed I could do the following: Net::HTTP::Proxy(my_host, my_port).start(url.host) do |h| req = Net::HTTP::Post.new(url.path) req.form_data = { "xml" => xml } h.request(req) end But, alas, proxy vs. non-proxied Net::HTTP classes don't seem to use the proxy IP Address. my remote service responds telling me that it received a request from the wrong IP address, ie: not the proxy. I am looking for a specific way to write the procedure, so that I can successfully send a form post via a proxy. Help? :)

  • Problem getting correct parameters for C# P/Invoke call to C++ dll

    - by Jim Jones
Trying to Interop a functionality from the Outside In API from Oracle. Have the following function: SCCERR EXOpenExport {VTHDOC hDoc, VTDWORD dwOutputId, VTDWORD dwSpecType, VTLPVOID pSpec, VTDWORD dwFlags, VTSYSPARAM dwReserved, VTLPVOID pCallbackFunc, VTSYSPARAM dwCallbackData, VTLPHEXPORT phExport); From the header files I reduced the parameters to: typedef VTSYSPARAM VTHDOC, VTLPHDOC * typedef DWORD_PTR VTSYSPARAM typedef unsigned long DWORD_PTR typedef unsigned long VTDWORD typedef VTVOID* VTLPVOID #define VTVOID void typedef VTHDOC VTHEXPORT, *VTLPEXPORT These are for 32 bit windows Going through the header files, the example programs, and the documentation I found: 1. That pSpec could be a pointer to a buffer or NULL, so I set it to a IntPtr.Zero (documentation). 2. That dwFlags and dwReserved according to the documentation "Must be set by the developer to 0". 3. That pCallbackFunc can be set to NULL if I don't want to handle callbacks. 4. That the last two are based on structs that I wrote C# wrappers for using the [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)]. Then instatiated an instance and generated the parameters by first creating a IntPtr with Marshal.AllocHGlobal(Marshal.SizeOf(instance)), then getting the address value which is passed as a uint for dwCallbackData and a IntPtr for phExport. The final parameter list is as follows: 1. phDoc as a IntPtr which was loaded with an address by the DAOpenDocument function called before. 2. dwOutputId as uint set to 1535 which represents FI_JPEGFIF 3. dwSpecType as int set to 2 which represents IOTYPE_ANSIPATH 4. pSpec as an IntPtr.Zero where the output will be written 5. dwFlags as uint set to 0 as directed 6. dwReserved as uint set to 0 as directed 7. pCallbackFunc as IntPtr set to NULL as I will handle results 8. dwCallBackDate as uint the address of a buffer for a struct 9. phExport as IntPtr to another struct buffer still get an undefined error from the API. Meaning that the call returns a 961 which is not defined in any of the header files. In the past I have gotten this when my choice of parameter types are incorrect. I started out using Interop Assistant which was helpful in learning how many of the parameter types get translated. It is however limited by how well I am able to glean the correct native type from the header files. For example the hDoc parameter used in the preceding function was defined as a non-filesytem handle, so attempted to use Marshal to create a handle, then used an IntPtr, and finally it turned out to be an int (actually it was &phDoc used here). So is there a more scientific way of doing this, other than trial and error? Jim

  • Drupal Customizing User Registration Form

    - by Asif Mulla
Hi All, I am newbie in Drupal 6. I am looking for customizing User registration form. Apparently found that while adding user using Admin login allows registration form to have fields like email address, username, password, confirm password, etc with validations. But when anonymous use wants to register, then only fields like email address and username are displayed. I tried with Profile module available. But now how could I add some fields (password, confirm password, terms & condition check and receive news letter check box)and behavior (password, confirm password validation etc.)? If I am adding such fields they are also get visible in AdminAdd user form resulting duplicate fields like Password,Confirm password. Could you please suggest me how can I do this? I tried googling but confused me a lot as I am beginner to Drupal.

  • Is it possible to implement a GC.GetAliveInstancesOf<T>() (for use in debugging)?

    - by Omer Raviv
Hi, I know this was answered before, but I'd like to pose a somewhat different question. Is there any conceivable way to implement GC.GetAliveInstancesOf(), that can be evaluated in Visual Studio Debug Watch window? Sasha Goldstein shows one solution in this article, but it requires every class you want to query inherit from a specific base class. I'll emphasize that I only want to use this method during debugging, so I don't care that the GC may change an object's address in memory during runtime. One idea might be to somehow harness the !dumpheap –type command of SOS, and do some magic trick to create a temporary variable and have it point out to the memory address printed by SOS. Does anyone have a solution that works?
