  • Help with jQuery 'zoom' script

    Hi All I'm using this script on my site - http://www.suuronen.org/esa-matti/projects/panfullsize/ Got it all working fine, only problem is that it always defaults to the zoomed image when you load a page. I'd rather it showed the scaled down image first, and then zoomed when requested. Anyone know how I can fix it? Cheers Sam

    How can I have a localized default values in the Settings bundle? I encounter this problem for regionally sensitive defaults. Consider an option in the settings bundle to indicate whether to show distances in miles or kilometers. The default settings for en_US and en_GB is 'miles, and km for everywhere else. Does the SDK provide a settings for that? Or should I just add a third option: 'Infer metric system, miles, kms'

  • .Net System.Net.HttpWebRequest & Authentication Cookies

    I would like to know if the following is possible: As part of the PageLoad of an ASP.Net page request: Use HttpWebRequest (POST) to make a request to a forms authentication webpage of a different web application Examine the response to see if the authentication succeeded (identifiable if an authentication cookie has been set) If it fails, then finish the ASP.Net page request, which will display a message saying "couldn't auto-login" or some such thing If success, then instead of completing the ASP.Net page lifecycle, use "Response.Write" to send the response from the HttpWebRequest back to the browser (thus essentially displaying the webpage from the HttpWebRequest) If the above is possible, then, is there also a way to transfer the authentication cookie from the HttpWebResponse to the requesting browser? My gut feeling is probably not - but if this is the case, then how do proxy servers handle such things? Is that not essentially what they are doing? Thanks for any help

  • Language in a Sandbox in Rails

    I've found that there WAS a sandbox gem (created by the guys that made try ruby in your browser but it was compatible only with Ruby 1.8. Another problem is that I cannot find it anymore (it seems they stop serving the gem from the servers...). So, is there any secure way of running ruby in a sandbox (so you can run it from your browser)? Or an easy way to run (for example lua/python) in a sandbox (no filesystem access, no creation of objects etc) and be called from Ruby (Rails 2.2)? I want to make an application like try_ruby even without having a ruby underneath. But it has to be an easy language (I saw there was a prolog in ruby, even a lisp but I don't think they are easy to learn languages...). So, do you have any suggestions or tips? Or should I just start creating my own DSL in Ruby (if there is a solution in creating a somewhat safe system)? Thx

  • Linking to non-home panel in JQTouch site

    I'm trying to create a link from an external site that arrives at a particular, internal panel on a JQTouch site I'm building. However the browser always opens the home panel of the JQT site no matter what anchor tag I use in the link. e.g. If I try to link to the User Interface panel in the official JQTouch demo I use http://www.jqtouch.com/preview/demos/main/#ui but the home panel shows in the browser and not the sub-panel I requested. Any suggestions would be very welcome. I have control of the both the linked and linking sites so can tweak code is necessary. Thanks

  • Should I replace string patterns in asp.net mvc using a custom viewengine?

    Have an ASP.NET MVC site that is localized. The localization functionality adds the two digit language ID to the URL, e.g. /es/Page. If no language Id is found in the URL, the site switches to the user's browser culture. All's good. However, the site's hyperlinks, a mixture of hard-coded href tags, actionlinks, etc., don't include the base language ID, so when clicking through the site the set culture is lost, and the site reverts to the user's browser culture. My (lazy) thought is to replace all href values, that don't point to an external site, with the localized URL (e.g. include the /es/). Otherwise, all site links will need to be updated to include the culture code. Is this just plain dumb? Or, reasonable, and should be done using a custom view engine, or some other approach?

    Im looking for a way, in javascript, to calculate the size of the browser (px) then calculate the size of a <div> taking away 50px from that full screen size: E.g. Browser screen size: 800px (Height) Existing <div> that is always 50px (Height) Leaves 750px (Height) for the remaining <div> to fill the page. Then take that 750px and apply it as inline style: <div style="height: 50px"> <img src="banner.png" /> </div> <div style="height: x"> This fills the remainder of the page </div>

  • Is there an online user agent database?

    How do you parse your user agent strings? I'm looking to get: Browser Browser Version OS OS Version from a user agent string. My app is written in perl and was previously using HTTP::BrowserDetect. It's a bit dated and is no longer maintained. I'm in no way tied to using perl for the actual lookup. I've come to the conclusion that automagic parsing is a lost cause. I was thinking of writing a crud type app to show me a list of unclassified UA's and manually keep them up to date. Does such an resource already exist that I can tap into? It would be awesome if I could make an HTTP call to look up the user agent info. Thanks!

  • FTP in NetBeans 6.1

    Is there an FTP browser hiding away in NetBeans 6.1? The help manual doesn't even suggest FTP exists. All I've been able to find so far is a tree viewer in the Services panel (no edit controls) and the ability to upload projects, folders and specific files from the Projects/Files views. Is there anywhere to delete or rename or will I have to keep switching back to my browser? I can see from the previews that there's a nice FTP controller in 6.5 but I'm not desperate enough to completely convert to a beta (yet).

  • Android back button does not restart activity?

    My app intiates an activity. On the click of a button, the app opens up the browser with a webpage. When I hit the back button, it comes back to my initial activity screen, but does not resume or restart the activity. When I put all the layout code and activity code in onResume instead of onCreate, the activity gets restarted. My question is whether this is the right way to go about it? Can I use onResume to draw my layout and initiate the activity, or is this poor design? When the browser fires up, does the initial activity forget its layout? Please let me know what you suggest.     Hi, Could someone please help me with this- I've 2 applications AAA and BBB. The homepage of AAA contains an iFrame which displays the application BBB. When I login to AAA, the same login details should be used to login to BBB(single signon) and on pageload of the homepage of AAA, homepage of BBB should also be loaded in the iFrame. I tried to use javascript to access the form elements of login page of BBB to enter the login data and submit. But the browser gives me a 'Access is denied' error. I did a little reading and came to know that cross- domain communication is not allowed by the browser. Could someone tell me how i can go about achieving this?

  • What is the relationship between WebProxy & IWebProxy with respect to WebClient?

    I am creating an app (.NET 2.0) that uses WebClient to connect (downloaddata, etc) to/from a http web service. I am adding a form now to handle allowing proxy information to either be stored or set to use the defaults. I am a little confused about some things. First, some of the methods & properties available in either WebProxy or IWebProxy are not in both. What is the difference here with respect to setting up how WebClient will be have when it is called? Secondly, do I have to tell WebClient to use the proxy information if I set it using either WebProxy or IWebProxy class elsewhere? Or is it automatically inherited? Thirdly, when giving the option for the user to use the default proxy (whatever is set in IE) and using the default credentials (I assume also whatever is set in IE) are these two mutually exclusive? Or you only use default credentials when you have also used default proxy? This gets me to the whole difference between WebProxy and IWebProxy. WebRequest.DefaultProxy is a IWebPRoxy class but UseDefaultCredentials is not a method on the IWebProxy class, rather it is only on WebProxy and in turn, How to set the proxy to the WebRequest.DefautlProxy if they are two different classes? Here is my current method to read the stored form settings by the user - but I am not sure if this is correct, not enough, overkill, or just wrong because of the mix of WebProxy and IWebProxy: private WebProxy _proxyInfo = new WebProxy(); private WebProxy SetProxyInfo() { if (UseProxy) { if (UseIEProxy) { // is doing this enough to set this as default for WebClient? The IStream will contain a series of bytes, but the problem is what do those bytes represent? They could, for example, contain bytes where: each byte represents a character from the current Windows code-page (e.g. 1252) each byte could represent a character from the ISO-8859-1 character set the bytes could represent UTF-8 encoded characters every 2 bytes could represent a character, using UTF-16 encoding In my particular case, i am providing the IWebBrowser an IStream that contains a series of double-bytes characters (UTF-16), but the browser (incorrectly) believes that UTF-8 encoding is in effect. This results in garbled characters.

    Is it possible to have a separate php.ini file that overrides the default php.ini file for each virtual host? I'm running Apache/2.2.14, PHP 5.3.2-1. For example I have several vhosts pointing to domains in my /var/www/ directory: /var/www/website1.com /var/www/website2.com What I'd like is to be able to place a custom php.ini file in each directory that would override the default values only for that vhost, but keep the original defaults if the value isn't specified: /var/www/website1.com/htdocs/ /var/www/website1.com/php.ini

  • Printing pdf without opening

    Hello there, I want to open a PDF-print dialog (not regular browser dialog) without visually opening the document so that I can print a pdf without having the header and footer information from a regular webpage print. I know this is possible, because I have seen it in the past on a postal service website for printing postage labels, but cannot remember where. As far as I know, printing it from an iframe doesnt work, as it only opens regular browser print dialog and gives me ugly page and url information: frames['name'].focus(); frames['name'].print(); Thank you for your time.     They seem to open in an internet explorer type window, does anyone know: How long have HTA files been around? Have they been around since Windows 98? Do they rely on Internet Explorer being installed, and/or a certain version of it? If you choose another browser on the browser selection screen update for Windows 7, will HTA files still work? Do HTA files open on other browsers? Are HTA files windows-only? There is a huge lack of documentation on google about HTA files, so it's tricky to work out. I need to present the client with a list of minimum requirements to ensure our HTA content CD will work.

  • Making JSP page not set the response content-type

    Is it possible to make JSP pages not set any content type on response? In my setup, JSP doesn't directly generate the response, but rather an intermediate presentation, which is then processed by additional Java code that creates HTML or JSON based on that. So, can I somehow make JSP not set content-type on the response and leave it to the intermediate code? If I just remove contentType="..." in a JSP, it still defaults to text/html.

  • Very slow remote page load performance in QtWebKit (Windows)

    I get very slow load times on QtWebKit on Windows 7, through ADSL. I am using the Qt Demo Browser, on a Core2 Quad, 64 bit Windows 7, 4GB ram, 2gb processor. through a VPN. Simplest example: google search page takes ~18 seconds to load, compared to 2.5 on Chrome (cash cleared). On larger pages, with scripts etc. it is worse. I tried Qt 4.6 and also the Qt 4.7 beta, but don't see any difference. I see the same results with Arora browser. Are there any settings, or patches that can be applied to fix this? Thanks

    Some of the images are not being displayed in the web browser in android while they work fine on all other machines and mobile devices. this is an example of one of those images http://s3.amazonaws.com/itriage/logos/19/iphone_list.jpg?1261515055 So I tried to pull the image to see it if it works from code. This is what I did URL url = new URL(address); InputStream is = (InputStream) url.getContent(); Drawable d = Drawable.createFromStream(is, "src"); It works for most images but for some images including this images it gives this error D/skia (28314): --- decoder-decode returned false Why is this happening and how can I prevent this. I saw an example on the developers forum but thats when we are accessing the image directly. But what I want is the browser to handle it. So how do I encode my images on my server for the android devices to recognise them correctly?

    From a Java program, I need to launch the default browser on a local HTML file, pointed to an anchor inside the file. In Java SE 6, the java.awt.Desktop.browse method will open the file, but will not honor the anchor, so something like the following opens the file at the top, but does not page the browser to the anchor: Desktop.getDesktop("file:///C:/foo/bar.html#anchor"); Sun says here http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6477862 that anchors are not supported in the file URI protocol. Does anyone have a better answer? I can use Java SE 6. I would be OK with a Windows only solution.
