  • Reading from a oracle temp table in a separate procedure than the one it was populted in

    - by Bob
I have a 2 stored procedures, the first creates an oracle temp table and the second reads from it. The temp table only has scope for that session. I'm calling the procedures from .Net and the second procedure never returns any results. However if I use the same sprocs and parameters in SQL*Plus it works fine. I've tried creating an Oracle Transaction object and had hoped I'd be able to read the tables in while still using the same transaction - trying to emulate an SQL Plus type of single connection environment. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong??

  • How to add sort function for the table via ajax in ASP.NET MVC?What is the best practice.

    - by Eric Wang
How to add sort function for the table via ajax in ASP.NET MVC?What is the best practice. If not use Ajax, it maybe much easier, just return View, but if use AJAX, what data structure should return?I just use Json to return the data, but i found each JSON data model return to the client browser, the JS have to use different code to parse it, remove the originally table rows, add the new data rows(because the column is different) etc. It make me crazy, is there any better way to do that? Thank you for any advice.

  • JavaFx 2.1, 2.2 TableView update issue

    - by Lewis Liu
My application uses JPA read data into TableView then modify and display them. The table refreshed modified record under JavaFx 2.0.3. Under JavaFx 2.1, 2.2, the table wouldn't refresh the update anymore. I found other people have similar issue. My plan was to continue using 2.0.3 until someone fixes the issue under 2.1 and 2.2. Now I know it is not a bug and wouldn't be fixed. Well, I don't know how to deal with this. Following are codes are modified from sample demo to show the issue. If I add a new record or delete a old record from table, table refreshes fine. If I modify a record, the table wouldn't refreshes the change until a add, delete or sort action is taken. If I remove the modified record and add it again, table refreshes. But the modified record is put at button of table. Well, if I remove the modified record, add the same record then move the record to the original spot, the table wouldn't refresh anymore. Below is a completely code, please shine some light on this. import javafx.application.Application; import javafx.beans.property.SimpleStringProperty; import javafx.collections.FXCollections; import javafx.collections.ObservableList; • In django models, how to make all table names not have the app label?

    - by Luigi
I have a database that was already being used by other applications before i began writing a web interface with django for it. The table names follow simple naming standards, so the django model Customer should map to the table "customer" in the db. At the same time I'm adding new tables/models. Since I find it cumbersome to use app_customer every time i have to write a query (django's ORM is definitely not enough for them) in the other applications and I don't want to rename the existing tables, what is the best way to make all models in my django app use tables without applabel_, besides adding a Meta class with db_table= to each model? Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this? I have only one web app that needs to access this db, everything else doesn't use django models.

  • Semantic Fish-eye zoom on table cells in UIKit?

    - by niblha
How would I go about implementing a table view that looks and works something as illustrated in the link below, with UIKit for the iPhone? http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/4177/uifisheyeview.png I was thinking of using UITableView, and was looking a bit at the UITableViewDelegate methods tableView:willDisplayCell:forRowAtIndexPath: tableView:heightForRowAtIndexPath: But it seems as the UITableView will modify the cell frames after these methods are called and just before the cells are drawn? Maybe skipping the UITableView and go straight for some subclassing of a UIScrollView would be a better approach? So my question is basically that I would just like some overall thought in what might be the best ways to use existing UIKit components to implement this type of table view.

  • How to make awkward pivot of sql table in SQL Server 2005?

    - by Oliver
    I have to rotate a given table from an SQL Server but a normal pivot just doesn't work (as far as i tried). So has anybody an idea how to rotate the table into the desired format? Just to make the problem more complicated, the list of given labels can vary and it is possible that a new label name can come into at any given time. Given Data ID | Label | Numerator | Denominator | Ratio ---+-----------------+-------------+---------------+-------- 1 | LabelNameOne | 41 | 10 | 4,1 1 | LabelNameTwo | 0 | 0 | 0 1 | LabelNameThree | 21 | 10 | 2,1 1 | LabelNameFour | 15 | 10 | 1,5 2 | LabelNameOne | 19 | 19 | 1 2 | LabelNameTwo | 0 | 0 | 0 2 | LabelNameThree | 15 | 16 | 0,9375 2 | LabelNameFive | 19 | 19 | 1 2 | LabelNameSix | 17 | 17 | 1 3 | LabelNameOne | 12 | 12 | 1 3 | LabelNameTwo | 0 | 0 | 0 3 | LabelNameThree | 11 | 12 | 0,9167 3 | LabelNameFour | 12 | 12 | 1 3 | LabelNameSix | 0 | 1 | 0 Wanted result ID | ValueType | LabelNameOne | LabelNameTwo | LabelNameThree | LabelNameFour | LabelNameFive | LabelNameSix ---+-------------+--------------+--------------+----------------+---------------+---------------+-------------- 1 | Numerator | 41 | 0 | 21 | 15 | | 1 | Denominator | 10 | 0 | 10 | 10 | | 1 | Ratio | 4,1 | 0 | 2,1 | 1,5 | | 2 | Numerator | 19 | 0 | 15 | | 19 | 17 2 | Denominator | 19 | 0 | 16 | | 19 | 17 2 | Ratio | 1 | 0 | 0,9375 | | 1 | 1 3 | Numerator | 12 | 0 | 11 | 12 | | 0 3 | Denominator | 12 | 0 | 12 | 12 | | 1 3 | Ratio | 1 | 0 | 0,9167 | 1 | | 0

  • Consolidate loan, purchase & sale tables into one transaction table.

    - by Frank Computer
INFORMIX-SE with ISQL 7.3: I have separate tables for Loan, Purchase & Sales transactions. Each tables rows are joined to their respective customer rows by: customer.id [serial] = loan.foreign_id [integer]; = purchase.foreign_id [integer]; = sale.foreign_id [integer]; I would like to consolidate the three tables into one table called "transaction", where a column: transaction.trx_type char(1) {L=Loan, P=Purchase, S=Sale} identifies the transaction type. Each transaction will be assigned a unique transaction number [serial]. Is this a good idea or is it better to keep them in separate tables? Storage space is not a concern, I think it would be easier programming & user-wise to have all types of transactions under one table, whenever possible. This implies denormalization.

  • How to insert bulk data into mysql table from asp.net at once.

    - by kranthi
Hi, I have a requirement that I need to read an excel sheet using asp.net/C# and insert all the records into mysql table. The excel sheet consists of around 2000 rows and 50 columns. Currently, upon reading the excel records ,I am inserting the records one by one using a prepare statement into mysql table. But its taking around 70 secs to do so because of the huge data. I've also thought of creating a new datarow, assigning values to each cell, adding the resulting datarow to datatable and finally calling dataadapter.update(...).But it seems to be complex because I got around 50 columns and hence I'll have to assign 50 values to the datarow. Could someone please suggest if there is an alternate to improve the performance of the insertion? Thanks

  • is a mysql temporary table unique for each user accessing the script that creates it...?

    - by SpikETidE
Hi everyone... While looking for a way to temporarily save the search results when a user searches for a hotel free between particular dates i came across temporary tables. But certain questions are not answered even in mysql manual.... like... Will the temporary table be unique for each user that executes the script...? Or will it be overwritten when two different users run the script at the same time...? When will the table be destroyed..? When the user closes the browser window or just navigates away from the page in which the script runs...? Thanks for your clarifications...

  • How to create a view of table that contains a timestamp column?

    - by Matt Faus
This question is an extension of a previous one I have asked. I have a table (2014_05_31_transformed.Video) with a schema that looks like this. I have put up the JSON returned by the BigQuery API describing it's schema in this gist. I am trying to create a view against this table with an API call that looks like this: { 'view': { 'query': u 'SELECT deleted_mod_time FROM [2014_05_31_transformed.Video]' }, 'tableReference': { 'datasetId': 'latest_transformed', 'tableId': u 'Video', 'projectId': 'redacted' } } But, the BigQuery API is returning this error: HttpError: https://www.googleapis.com/bigquery/v2/projects/124072386181/datasets/latest_transformed/tables?alt=json returned "Invalid field name "deleted_mod_time.usec". Fields must contain only letters, numbers, and underscores, start with a letter or underscore, and be at most 128 characters long." The schema that the BigQuery API does not make any distinction between a TIMESTAMP data type and a regular nullable INTEGER data type, so I can't think of a way to programmatically correct this problem. Is there anything I can do, or is this a bug with BigQuery's view implementation?

  • Condensing multiple else if statements, referencing them from a table?

    - by Haskella
Hi I'm about to type some 500 else if statements into my code (PHP) which have the exact same coding each: if (color=White); rgb = 255-255-255; print rgb; else if (color=Black); rgb = 0-0-0; print rgb; else if (color=Red); rgb = 255-0-0; print rgb; else if (color=Blue); rgb = 0-0-255; print rgb; [the list keeps going] I also (luckily) have a table that displays the color in the first column and rgb value in the next column for 500 of them... how do I use this to save time typing all those else if statements? Some how I have to reference the table file (made in excel, I'm guessing I'll have to save it as .csv?)

  • iPhone: App crashes when I click on a cell in table view.

    - by Jack Griffiths
Hi there, Compiling my application works—everything is fine. The only errors I get are by deprecated functions (setText). The only problem is now, is that when I tap on a cell in my table, the app crashes, even though it's meant to push to the next view in the stack. Any solutions are appreciated, if you need any code, just ask. Also, how can I only make sure that one cell goes to only one view? For example: When I tap on CSS, it takes me to a new table with different levels of CSS. WHen I tap on an item in that new view, it comes up with an article on what I just selected. Regards, Jack

  • How can I explain to a programmer that CSS positioning has many benefits over table based layouts?

    - by Pat
I have a friend who wishes to work as a freelance web developer, but insists that tables are the way forwards for layouts. Several points he maintains in favour of tables: 1 This is what was taught at the beginning of 10 years of programming & computer science degrees. 2 Large companies use tables to achieve 'technical' things. 3 It saves time I have coded him some examples of CSS exactly matching table based layouts, and provided many links to articles explaining SEO and accessibility benefits. From the perspective of a client, I have been explaining to him that I wouldn't hire someone using outdated methods as their main strategy for layout. As he is my friend and I wish him every success, I believe it is important for him to gain the best start when pitching for work. The question again: How can I explain to a programmer that CSS positioning has many benefits over table based layouts?

  • I've created a database table using Visual Studio for my C# program. Now what?

    - by Kevin
Hi! I'm very new to C#, so please forgive me if I've overlooked something here. I've created a database using Visual Studio (add new item service-based database) called LoadForecast.mdf. I then created a table called ForecastsDB and added some fields. My main question is this: I've created a console application with the intention of writing some data to the newly created database. I've added LoadForecast.mdf as a data source for my program, but is there anything else I should do? I saw an example where the next step was adding a "data diagram", but this was for a visual application, not a console application. Do I still need to diagram the database for my console app? I just want to be able to write new records out to my database table and wasn't sure if there were any other things I needed to do for the VS environment to be "aware" of my database. Thanks for any advise!

  • SQL update fields of one table from fields of another one.

    - by Nir
I'm having two tables: A [ID, column1, column2, column3] B [ID, column1, column2, column3, column4] A table will always be subset of B table (meaning all columns of A are also in B). I want to update a record with a specific ID in B with their data from A for all columns of A. This ID exists both in A and B. Is there an UPDATE syntax or any other way to do that without specifying the column names, just saying "set all columns of A"? I'm using postgresql, so a specific non-standard command is also accepted (however, not preferred). Thanks.

  • Fluent nHibernate - How to map a non-key column on an association table?

    - by The Matt
    Taking an example that is provided on the Fluent nHibernate website, I need to extend it slightly: I need to add a 'Quantity' column to the StoreProduct table. How would I map this using nHibernate? An example mapping is provided for the given scenario above, but I'm not sure how I would get the Quantity column to map: public class StoreMap : ClassMap<Store> { public StoreMap() { Id(x => x.Id); Map(x => x.Name); HasMany(x => x.Employee) .Inverse() .Cascade.All(); HasManyToMany(x => x.Products) .Cascade.All() .Table("StoreProduct"); } }
