  • LDAP over SSL with an EFI Fiery printer

    I've got a printer with a Fiery running 8e Release 2. I can authenticate users against AD using the LDAP configuration, but I can only get it to work if I don't use SSL/TLS, and only if I use SIMPLE authentication. Right now, it's authenticating using a fairly low-impact user, but it's also the only system on our network that's not using LDAPS. I can get AD info fine over LDAPS using ldp.exe from my machine, our firewall, our mail filter, our linux boxes, etc. The only problem child is the Fiery. I've added the LDAP server certificate as a trusted cert to the Fiery, but after I check the box for Secure Communication and change the port to 636, pressing Validate results in a dialog box coming up saying: LDAP Validation Failed Server Name invalid or server is unavailable. I've tried changing the server name to use just the name, the FQDN, and the IP address, and changed it to another server, just to see if it was just this AD server that was fussy with the Fiery. EDIT: removed LDP output, added packet capture analysis from wireshark: The conversation seems pretty normal to me, up to the point where the Fiery terminates the connection after the server sends back a handshake response. Maybe they messed up their TLS implementation? I'm trying support, but it's been fairly useless so far. The cert is a SHA-2 (sha256RSA) 2048-bit certificate. Also, it looks like the Fiery is specifying TLS 1.0. Looking at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa374757(v=vs.85).aspx, I'm not seeing SHA256 and TLS 1.0 combination being supported by SChannel. headdesk perhaps that's why, after the DC changes the cipher spec, the connection is terminated by the Fiery? TLS 1.1 and 1.2 are enabled on the DC.   • Need help configurating my Tomcat server without any WAR files

    I just reinstalled my entire server, and now I can't seem to get my JSP-based website to work on Tomcat anymore. As I said, this configuration worked before, but now with the latest verion of XAMPP and Tomcat it doesn't work anymore. All I get is a 404 message saying The requested resource () is not available.

What could be the reason, similar code generated by seam gen is apparently working. Here is the entity class.   • PHP Templated site w/ file_get_content links

    Ok so i have a template script my friend built for me. I'll include all file names OK so what is not working is file_get_contents is not grabing the content (1 I don't know where the content should be placed and 2 i want it placed in a directory so that IF i change the template the area where content stays is the same.   • Anyone willing to help out a javascript n00b? :-)

    Since I am asking for a lot, and know it, the following is a wall of text for those who might show some interest and want to know a little before offering their help to me. First a little about my level of programming skills, and a little about what I ask for. Where I'm at: I am not totally new to Javascript, and have dabbled a little with PHP earlier - well have dabbled a lot with PHP in fact, but never got good at it because I program alone. And I have until now never used forums to get help etc. other that searching to see if anyone else had my problem before and what the solution was. So I am not a intuitive or talented programmer, I'm more of a very maticulate programmer and you would be surprised how far you can get with if else... (ok that's a joke hehe). My solutions are usually (I am guessing here) not the best ones - and slow I take it, and the code is usually too long and I have to look up most of the stuff I use (really a lot of it is not done in "freehand"). I have a LOT of experience with HTML and CSS, and have always done well formed markup, as well as I am really into x-browsing and always require that my work validates when it's done. I also worry about optimizing a lot, and work with sprites for images, minimize the number of http requests etc, using H1,H2 etc. where it is logically correct, as well as use the correct elements and not just div span or p it... So because I am a workhorse and very maticulate I can actually pull off some quite "advanced" features, but it's always the basics that bite me in the end. Not fully understanding the syntax and so on usually gives me problems. Have recently discovered jQuery - wich is a lot of fun.... But I want to use it for the DOM node manipulation/handling only. As I mentioned I worry about optimizing, and jQuery used for everything seems... well not optimal, it strikes me as doing it yourself when possible is faster than accesing another script that may take a whole lot of other considerations into perspective when handling your variables and objects (and I am just guessing here since I as explained know nothing). So thats where I'm at... As mentioned I just started with javascript for "real" so I do not have much to show, but at the end of my WOT you can see two unfinisheded scripts I have made so you can see where I'm at roughly - just check out the URL without the /feedback.html for the second example (I am only allowed to post 1 link since I am also a SO n00b) (and for those rushing over to a validation service, remember I wrote "when it's done"...) What I ask for: I am figuring this... I have a piece of code I am working on at the moment, and this little project has taught me a whole lot already, and I have "grown" a lot as a javascript programmer.     I'm trying to configure CAS authentication. It requires both CAS and client application to use HTTPS protocol. Unfortunately we should use self-signed certificate (with CN that doesn't have anything in common with our server). Also the server is behind firewall and we have only two ports (ssh and https) visible. As far as there're several application that should be visible externally, we use Apache for ajp reverse proxying requests to these applications. Secure connections are managed by Apache, and all Tomcat are not configured to work with SSL.     Hi all I receive that message in debugger console since I added the following arguments for debugging my application with XCode. NSZombieEnabled: YES NSZombieLevel: 16 I was looking for zombie objects... Before doing so, the application failed before I could know where what and why was happening.... Now I´m pretty sure that 'something' outside code is trying to access an object previously released and I can't know where or why it happens neither where it was released... My application is based on this proof of concept (very interesting and colorful) of QuartzCore Framework: http://www.cimgf.com/2008/03/03/core-animation-tutorial-wizard-dialog-with-transitions/ Based on it, I added a few more nsviews to my project and a title and an index to each one, also I added some buttons, text and images depending on what 'dialog' (ACLinkedView object) it was... The transition from an ACLinkedView object to another is going through a validation that depends on the view where you are ... As you see I used this proof of concept as the foundation of my application and it grew and grew into an application that makes use of configuration files, web services (using gSOAP and C ...) I hope you can give me some clues to where is my error ... I´ve been the hole week debugging unsuccessfully, as I said before, I think that that message comes from a point outside my code. I'd say that the problem s related with bad memory allocation or automatisms (nearly completely unknowns for me) during loading the nib components... When I try to deploy the site to Windows 2008 R2 , IIS 7.5 , the url always return 404. First, my application pool is running on .Net 4.0, and Integration mode. But now I need to prevent the page from going to the script page or refreshing. Then primefaces datatable behaves unpredictable. After filling in datatable with new data - it still stores old values. Clear data of list (arrayList of string) - click "clear" button (imagine that you click cancel on form because you don't want to store data to database) 3. Load new data - click "update" button (imagine that you are openning new form with new data) Question: Why p:dataTable with p:inputText still stores manually changed data, not the loaded ones? Is there any way to force p:dataTable to behaving like h:dataTable in this case?

As I said, this configuration worked before, but now with the latest verion of XAMPP and Tomcat it doesn't work anymore. All I get is a 404 message saying The requested resource () is not available.

  • IE7 doesn't render part of page until the window resizes or switch between tabs

    I have a problem with IE7. I have a fixed layout for keeping the header and a sidepanel fixed on a page leaving only the "main content" area switch can happily scroll it's content. This layout works perfectly fine for IE6 and IE8, but sometimes one page may start "hiding" the content that should be showing in the "main content" area. The page finishes loading just fine. For a split second IE7 will render the main content just fine and then it will immediately hide it from view.. somewhere.. It would also seem that it only experiences this problem when there is enough content to force the "main content" area to scroll. By resizing the window or switching to another open tab and back again will cause IE7 to show the page as it was intended. Note the same problem does occur with IE8 in compatibility mode, but the page is rendered correctly in IE8 mode. If need be I can attach the basic CSS styling I use, but I first want to see if this is a known issue with IE7. Does IE7 have issues with positioned layout and overflow scrolling that is sometimes likes to forgot to finish rendering the page correctly until some window redraw event forces to finish rendering? Please remember, this exact same layout is used across multiple pages in the site as it is set up in a master page. It is just (in this case) one page that is experiencing this problem. Other pages with the exact same layout do render correctly. Even if the main content is full enough to also scroll. UPDATE: A related question which doesn't have an answer at this point. LATE UPDATE: Adding example masterpage and css Please note this same layout is the same for all the pages in the application. My problem with IE7 only occurs on one such page. All other pages have happily render correctly in IE7. Just one page, using the exact same layout, has issues where it sometimes hides the content in the "work-space" div. It seems as though my options are to: Return the Country with a populated States collection, then map over in the UI layer. The downside to this approach is that I'm returning a lot more data than is actually needed. -or- Put all my view models into my Common dll library (as opposed to having them in the Models directory in my MVC app) and expand my repository to return specific view models instead of just the domain pocos. The downside to this approach is that I'm leaking UI specific stuff (MVC data validation annotations) into my previously clean POCOs. -or- Are there other options? How are you handling these types of things?

When I fill out the formular and submit it, there is an error message displayed on the page: Bestellung:lieferantenBestellungForm:lieferant: Validierungsfehler: Wert ist keine gültige Auswahl translated: validation error: value is not a valid selection Unfortunaltely it does not say which value it is talking about. The converter seems to work correctly. I found this similar question from stackoverflow and this article about selectOneMenu and converters, but I was not able to find the problem in my code. Why is List<SelectItem> used in the example from the second link. Gives the same error for me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Rails unknown action suddenly everywhere

    The weird thing is that my app was working perfectly on Sat, and when I check it out on Monday (after doing nothing to it) I kept getting this problem: This behaviour is only happening on my production server. When I try to login or create a new user or do something that interacts with a form I am getting an unknown action error. A simple retrieval of rows does not throw this error however. I don't have all CRUD operations in most of my controllers because it's not necessary - but Rails always looks for the one that doesn't exist - it seams so anyway. If I make a mistake in the form that would normally throw a validation message to the user it will throw this error too, does that mean it has something to do with the model too (I'm not too Rails experienced and didn't know if that would be the case or not)? This is a general error I am getting - I have super_exception_notifier gem installed, so that's what all the extra params are.     On a Windows 2008 R2, using DNS and IIS I've established my development test server; i.e. I'll have a web application that I can browse on http://test.dev I've moved all the static content files like images, js files and css files into another application which is visible on http://cdn.test.dev test.dev, uses cdn.test.dev urls like http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js to load js, css and images. When I first load "~/" of test.dev, all files will load with a response code of 200; when I press F5 in Firefox, all files, except the "~/default.aspx", will load with 304 response code; but pressing Ctrl+F5 loads them again with a 200 code; if I browse another url like "~/pages/" in test.dev, all of those static files will reload with a 200 code... Is this normal or I'm doing something wrong? Actually, I'm looking for a behavior like this: I want the client to load http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js, only once. I want the client's browser to use this jquery.js file, from cache, in all other pages of test.dev Is this possible?   • Php template caching design

    Hello to all, I want to include caching in my app design. Caching templates for starters. The design I have used so far is very modular. I have created an ORM implementation for all my tables and each table is represented by the corresponding class. All the requests are handled by one controller which routes them to the appropriate webmethod functions. I am using a template class for handling UI parts. What I have in mind for caching includes the implementation of a separate Cache class for handling caching with the flexibility to either store in files, apc or memcache. Right now I am testing with file caching. Some thoughts Should I include the logic of checking for cached versions in the Template class or in the webmethods which handle the incoming requests and which eventually call the Template class. In the first case, things are pretty simple as I will not have to change anything more than pass the template class an extra argument (whether to load from cache or not). In the second case however, I am thinking of checking for a cached version immediately in the webmethod and if found return it. This will save all the processing done until the logic reaches the template (first case senario). Both senarios however, rely on an accurate mechanism of invalidating caches, which brings as to Invalidating caches As I see it (and you can add your input freely) a template cached file, becomes invalidate if: a. the expiration set, is reached. b. the template file itself is updated (ie by the developer when adding a new line) c. the webmethod that handles the request changes (ie the developer adds/deletes something in the code) d. content coming from the db and ending in the template file is modified I am thinking of storing a json encoded array inside the cached file. The first value will be the expiration timestamp of the cache. The second value will be the modification time of the php file with the code handling the request (to cope with option c above) The third will be the content itself The validation process I am considering, according to the above senarios, is: a. If the expiration of the cached file (stored in the array) is reached, delete the cache file b. if the cached file's mod time is smaller than the template's skeleton file mod time, delete the cached file c. if the mod time of the php file is greated than the one stored in the cache, delete the cached file. d. This is tricky. In the ORM implementation I ahve added event handlers (which fire when adding, updating, deleting objects). I could delete the cache file every time an object thatprovides content to the template, is modified. The problem is how to keep track which cached files correpond to each schema object. Take this example, a user has his shortprofile page and a full profile page (2 templates) These templates can be cached. Now, every time the user modifies his profile, the event handler would need to know which templates or cached files correspond to the User, so that these files can be deleted. I could store them in the db but I am looking for a beter approach
