• Automatic Site Creation

  I have created a platform that i want users to sign up and a new site is created for them instantly. Users will register and afterwards they will receive a username and password for their personal site. The system will work like ecommerce platforms such as www.shopify.com, www.bigcommerce.com, etc.. where users sign up and a new web-shop is created for them instantly. I have been searching for a while how i can create a script to automate this task but couldn't find any tutorials. Am using LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP). Am asking if someone can guide me how to write such script or maybe point me to a tutorial or a book or probably similar scripts to automate this task. • Hanging page loads every n loads - SOLVED

  Hi Guys I recently moved my site to a new server (Apache 2, PHP5, MySQL5). The site is an Invision based forum. Every few posts / topics it just hangs. The data has been written because if you stop and reload, the post / thread is there. I thought it was a write issue initially, but nope. So, the data is written but the page load never completes. It doesn't leave the page where the data has been input. Whats the best way to trouble shoot this issue? The only thing I have done recently is reduce my MySQL timeouts, but I can't see that being an issue as the values are still big enough and there are no mentions of timeouts in the MySQL log. (For the record there is nothing in PHP's error log either) Thanks in advance! EDIT: I checked my server-status. It all looked ok, but I have a suspicion I was hitting my ServerLimit, so I doubled that. Also enabled my Keepalives. Will keep an eye on it. EDIT 2: Its now been a few days and this is still occuring. I have more info though; Apache is throwing seg faults, but enabling core dumps does not produce them. I have tried disabling the modules in apache but it just stops things from working. I fear it may actually be DNS related. If I watch Live Headers in Firefox, absolutely nothing happens during this 'hanging' period. After that, the responses come back fairly promptly. UPDATE (05/04): I built the latest versions of Apache and PHP from source, no luck. I then removed those and used the remi repo to update all my packages to the latest stable. Segfaults seem to have stopped, but the hanging is continuing. ini's are at; www.skylinesaustralia.com/php.ini www.skylinesaustralia.com/my.cnf www.skylinesaustralia.com/httpd.conf UPDATE - SOLVED! - The issue was having a gigantic query cache size in MySQL. • Problem Installing Xubuntu 12.04 Audio-Video codecs

  I used Crouton to install Xubuntu 12.04.4 LTS with the XFCE environment on my HP Chromebook 11. I've gotten it all fully installed and everything; the only thing I'm doing now is the basic setup things, like adding codecs and other things like LibreOffice, VLC, Firefox, Ubuntu Software Center, etc. This information I got from 2 sources: http://www.efytimes.com/e1/fullnews.asp?edid=137269 http://www.binarytides.com/better-xubuntu-14-04/ . I'm currently on the same step at both URLs, which is #6 on Link 1 and #8 on Link 2. Per the articles, which both said the same thing, I typed in sudo apt-get install xubuntu-restricted-extras libavcodec-extra and it didn't do anything. It just kept on saying the same thing: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package libavcodec-extra I've spend the last hour or so scouring the internet for a solution, for a hint even at what is going on. I don't want to do a clean reinstall, for two reasons: 1) it's takes like 1.5h just to get the croot fully installed, and 2) everything but this out of what I've done so far (up to #6 at Link 1 & up to #8 at Link 2) works except the audio. I've already installed flash, so YouTube works fine. It's just I can't hear any audio. Please help? Thanks in advance. I appreciate all the great help I've been getting from AskUbuntu lately. You all are great.

  Much like every other Public Sector organization, school districts in the US and Canada are under tremendous pressure to deliver consistent and modern services while operating with reduced budgets, IT personnel shortages, and staff attrition.  Electronic/remote learning and the need for immediate access to resources such as grades, calendars, curricula etc. are straining IT environments that were already burdened with meeting privacy requirements imposed by both regulators and parents/students.  One area viewed as a solution to at least some of the challenges is the use of "Cloud" in education.  Although the concept of "Cloud" is nothing new in education with many providers supplying educational material over the web, school districts defer previously-in-house-hosted services to established commercial vendors to accommodate document sharing, app hosting, and even e-mail.  Doing so, however, does not reduce an important risk, that of privacy.  As always, Cloud implementations are viewed in a skeptical manner because of the perceived reduction in sensitive data management and protection thereof, although with a careful approach and the right tooling, the benefits realized by Clouds can expand to security and privacy.   Oracle's comprehensive approach to data privacy and identity management ensures that the necessary tools are available to support regulations, operational efficiencies and strong security regardless of where the sensitive data is stored - on premise or a Cloud.  Common management tools, role-based access controls, access policy management and engineered systems provided by Oracle can be the foundational pieces on which school districts can build their Cloud implementations without having to worry about security itself. Their biggest challenge, and it is a positive one, is how to best take advantage of Oracle's DB Security and IDM functionality to reduce operational costs while enabling modern applications and data delivery to those who needs access to it. On opening the contact on my desktop, I was surprised to see, I need to upgrade my account to view the contact. Doing some research along with my wife, I found this simple security vulnerability from LinkedIn that can let anyone view a contact’s full profile even when you have a “not upgraded” LinkedIn account and that the contact is a “3rd + Everyone Else”. Here’s an example of what I am talking about. I just made a random search on LinkedIn for a contact whose name starts with Sacha. Do note, this is just a walkthrough and I am not publicizing any Sacha. I check the “3rd + Everyone Else” and find a “LinkedIn Member”. On clicking this person’s profile to view, I am presented with the following page, asking me to upgrade. Make a note of this page’s web address and you get the profile id from it. For example, for this contact, the page address is: http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=868XXX35 The Profile Id for this contact is 868XXX35. Now, open following page where the Profile Id is the same as the one we grabbed a moment earlier. https://touch.www.linkedin.com/?#profile/868XXX35 The mobile page exposes this contact information and you even get the possibility to connect to this person without an introduction mail (InMail). I hope someone from LinkedIn sees and issues a fix for this. I am pretty sure, it’s something that they don’t want the user to do without purchasing an upgrade package.

• wget not converting links

  I am trying to mirror a fairly large site (20,000+ pages) prior to a major overhaul. Basically, I need a backup before cutting over to the new one in case we forgot something we need (we'll have about 1,000 pages at launch). The site is run on a CMS that I cannot easily extract usable data from, so I'm trying to make the copy with wget. My problem is that wget does not appear to be actually converting links, despite the presence of --convert-links or -k in the command. I've tried a couple of different combinations of flags, but I haven't been able to get the output I need. Most recent failed attempt was: nohup wget --mirror -k -l10 -PafscSnapshot --html-extension -R *calendar* -o wget.log http://www.example.org & I've also included the --backup-converted, and --convert-links instead of -k (not that it have mattered). I've done it with and without -P and -l, again no that they should matter. Results in files that still have links like: http://www.example.org/ht/d/sp/i/17770

• Incomplete mesh using DrawIndexedPrimitives after rotating mesh

  Through help on this site I was able to draw the triangles of an unrotated, nonscaled nontransformed mesh created in Blender and exported to OBJ, accurately imported through Assimp and rendered in XNA Graphics. However after applying rotation on a single axis in Blender(Z) and adding materials(I wanted to test loading of materials through Assimp) the same mesh appears incomplete. Is something wrong with my view matrix or is it something else?   After installing redmine, i cann only access the filesystem! I reinstalled redmine 2-3 times in different ways. This change wouldn't be a problem. I use this on a bunch of other services. The Database does exist and i can enter it. The configuration file config/database.yml is set up right, with the data i use to enter as redmineuser. So does one have an idea why it is not working like i wish?

• Using a Custom Domain Name In Place of etsy

  I am thinking about creating an online shop at etsy, the one requirement I have is, I want user to see my domain name (www.myname.com), instead of myname.etsy.com. Given that I don't have access to the etsy server, is there thing I can do on my domain redirect( assuming I am using apache), so that whatever request on www.myname.com will be translated to the etsy side? This is so that whoever comes to my website won't see the word etsy in the url. Another particular thing is that I want my custom domain name to show in the web browser location bar when the redirect completes. Is there anyway to do this with apache?

• System boots in console + login loop

  I messed up my system while trying to fix permission problems for setting up a LAMP local server. I tried this solution: How to avoid using sudo when working in /var/www? without success. Then I saw this solution: Permissions issue: how can Apache access files in my Home directory? I understood that I had to change the permissions of my root directory (among others), so I executed: sudo chmod 710 / I also changed the user group on / to www-data. I also did these operations on /home. I'm pretty sure one of those commands broke something, because it's the last commands I executed, and after that, my system showed strange/broken behavior: Firefox stopped showing pages Some icons got replaced by an red X icon (meaning "Icon not found" I guess) Applications refused to launch (no reaction) After rebooting: I got a strange graphical message talking about not being able to mount something, asking me if I wanted to wait, and talking about /tmp (I forgot the message since I was in shock) My system now boots in console, and when I login, it flashes unsignificant stuff* before re-asking me to login. My important data is on Ubuntu One. I'd prefer not having to reinstall from scratch. Is there a way to regain access to my system? Thanks a lot for your help. *Looks like a terminal header with the name of the OS and other info. Doesn't seem important.

• Can I create an SSH user which can access only certain directory?

  I have a Virtual Private Server which I can connect to using SSH with my root account, being able to execute any linux command and access all the disk area, obviously. I would like to create another user account, which would be able to access this server using SSH too, but only to a certain directory, for example /var/www/example.com/ For example, imagine this user has a HUGE error.log file (500 MB) located in /var/www/example.com/logs/error.log When accessing this file using FTP, this user needs to download 500 MB to view the last lines of the log, but I'd like him to be able to execute something like this: tail error.log Therefore I need him to be able to access the server using SSH, but I don't want to grant him access to all server areas. How can I do this?

My situation: As a programmer myself in one company i use all my knowledge, 20++ hours a day (office , home, office, home) because every-time its challenge/complex/stress/over-time feature-requests, at the end of the year in Europe i was getting in total not even the lowest amount shown here (UK pound vs Euro + high-tech most of the time they use + speed in development): http://www.itjobswatch.co.uk/ In one company i have to use my best performance knowledge for whole year with: C, Java, PHP (Zend Framework, Cakephp), BASH, MySQL/DB2, Linux/Unix, Javascript, Dojo, JQuery, Css, Html, Xml. Company wants to pay lesser but always it has to be perfect and it has to be solid gold and diamond like quality. And the total amount in Europe is not sufficient for me if i compare with other countries and living cost in Europe including taxes. Is there any developers/community site where we can see by country, zone what is minimum to maximum income source getting offered to the developers? So that some developers who is in troubles, they can shout and speak up louder with those references?

• Allow HTTPS cookies but not HTTP?

  I want to allow cookies for a domain but only over HTTPS -- not cookies from the same domain that come from HTTP. For example, I don't want any http://www.google.com cookies, but I do want to allow https://www.google.com cookies (because Calendars are there). Is there a way to do this? Does the goal even make sense? In Chrome, it only allows domain names, not URLs, to be added to the cookie exception list. In Firefox, it allows a protocol, but it only records the domain name, and if you click "Allow" or "Deny", it changes the same entry in the list.

  I have a Cisco router (model 887VA, IOS 15.4) used to connect a LAN to the Internet via ADSL. The WAN interface uses DHCP: interface ATM0.1 point-to-point ip address dhcp I need the router to use a statically-defined DNS server for name resolution: ip name-server A.B.C.D However, the router insists on using the DNS servers supplied by the ISP via DHCP: Router#ping www.google.com Translating "www.google.com"...domain server (<ISP DNS>) [OK] Type escape sequence to abort. Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 173.194.116.208, timeout is 2 seconds: !!!!! Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 44/45/48 ms How can I tell the router to ignore the ISP-supplied DNS servers and only use the statically-configured one?

• How to prevent multiple playing sounds from destroying your hearing?

  The problem is that when I play 100 sounds almost at same time, all I hear is noise. It's not very attractive to listen it for 30 minutes straight. I tried to fix this by allowing only 1 sound of each sound type to be played at once. But it still sounds really ugly; eventually my brain keeps hearing only the very end of the shot sounds (or the start of it?), and that gets on my nerves really quickly. Eventually I would just decide to turn off the sounds completely. So is there any point of using sounds in a game like this at all? How does our dear reality handle this problem? If there is a war out there, how does it sound when hundred of men shoot almost at the same times? Edit: Here is how the game sounds currently; there isn't even 100 sounds playing at once, maybe 20? http://www.speedyshare.com/VTBDw/headache.mp3 At the beginning it sounds OK, but then it becomes unbearable! In that audio clip there is allowed only 1 sound to be played at once, so it will stop the previous playing sound when new sound is played. • SSL Ajax type of certificate for the static domain (image + js)

  Hi, I have a page that is SSL and has a valid certificate extended. (mainpage.com) But this page request some static content to another domain(page-static.com), basicly images and js. Actually i have only a certificate for my mainpage.com. So now when i request this page i get invalid ssl page because it contains invalid encrypted data (the one provided by the www.page-static.com) What kind of certificate do i need for the www.page-static.com. Do i need the same one as the mainpage.com, because this certificate are expensive (it's a extended certificate). Or a cheap certificate from godaddy will do the trick. This is another question do both certificates have to be signed by the same root provider and/or the same encryption key length (or it can be only 128 bits)? Thanks for your help

• Squid/Kerberos authentication with only Linux

  Hi, I would like to know if it possible to let a Windows Xp machine authenticate to Squid (Linux) using Kerberos without the need of an Active Directory domain. I only want to create a Kerberos ticket on the client side, which should give the client access to squid (using I.E.). I only found tutorials about configuring A.D./Squid, not an environment with only Linux servers. Thanks Update: The kerberos setup is correctly done, the proxy and client can get tickets. As for the browser (FF/IE), I get: ERROR Cache Access Denied While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.google.com/ The following error was encountered: * Cache Access Denied. Sorry, you are not currently allowed to request: http://www.google.com/ from this cache until you have authenticated yourself. In kerberos, I get: squid_kerb_auth: Got 'YR ElRNTVMTUABBAABAB4IIogAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAFASgDAAAADw==' from squid (length: 59). squid_kerb_auth: parseNegTokenInit failed with rc=101 squid_kerb_auth: received type 1 NTLM token This message is strange, as I didn't configure NTLM. It looks like the browser uses the wrong authentication methode.

  We're trying to enforce HTTPS on certain URLs and HTTP on others. We are also rewriting URLs so all requests go through our index.php. For example if we try to goto https:// www.domain.com/en/customer/login, it redirects to http:// www.domain.com/index.php?query=en/customer/login. It's like the last rule is being applied before the redirection is done and after the [L] flag indicating the the redirection is the last rule to apply.
