  • Integrating Java webapps with Adobe Professional: Resources?

    I'm interested in learning what resources there are for integrating Java and Adobe Professional, in general. If it helps, my projects already use the Spring Framework. My boss is particularly interested in being able to fill out a PDF form from within a Java webapp and have that data go directly to our database. She mentioned that .net had a lot of bridges to Adobe Professional. I would rather new projects be in Java so I am eager to find if there are any easy bridges between Java and Adobe Professional. Thanks in advance for any information. So far a Google search on "Java Adobe Professional" didn't turn up anything, so I thought I would ask here. Thanks.

  • Adobe Illustrator - Objects are Expanded on Restart

    I use Adobe Illustrator extensively for mobile development. For example, for Android app, I have many illustrations with different densities and sizes. I use many effects such as outer glow, round corners and such. However, sometimes, when I close the .ai file and re-open it later, I found all my objects expanded. Effects are expanded. For example, the round corner effect is now expanded and I cannot re-size any object. I am using a MacBook Pro. I am suspecting both Time Machine and Dropbox. As much as I can recall, it also appears with CS6 version, not CS5.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader don't zoom out the page enough in "one page" mode

    I'm using Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9.4 under Debian Lenny. I'm experiencing a problem: when I push the "Show one page at a time" button, I expect the page to zoom such that pressing PgUp/PgDn would turn to the next/previous page. However, the zoom seems to be not enough - very thin bottom portion of the page doesn't fit inside the reader window, and pressing PgUp/PgDn gives the jitter of the same page, and I have to push twice to get to the next page. It is even worse in continuous page mode - a roll of pages begin to be non-synced with window boundaries, ending up with page break right in the middle of the view after several turns of the pages. This behaviour doesn't occur on windows version - I have a page properly zoomed in single/continuous modes, so that turning the pages is performed as page-at-once, as intended. How to make the Acrobat Reader fit the page to window properly?     So, I am new to Applescript editor and I am trying to write code to automatically update computers. For some odd reason I can not seem to get Adobe to update successfully. I tried using Accessibility Inspector, but nothing appeared like AXButton So is there even a way of writing code for Adobe when there is not an AXButton option?   • Adobe Master Collection CS3 wont run on my Windows 7 64bit

    I have a brand new HP p6230y. My first step after booting it up was to install Master Collection. It installs fine, but when I go to run each of the applications, and they all behave differently. I have re-installed twice already. Photoshop opens, but freezes. Acrobat tells me that I need to reinstall. Nothing else even opens (no freezing, no process in taskman). Any Ideas? I went to youtube and it said I needed to upgrade Adobe Flash Player and litte window in the to left hand corner came up saying to install plugin needed so I pressed it and then it said no suitable plugins found. So then I Pressed download from Adobe and I just downloded the first thing which was Yum assuming thats the linux version of the plugin I needed.   • Performance Bottleneck with Photoshop CS3 on XPSP3

    I have an intel core 2 4400, with 4GB of ram running on XP 32-BIT SP3. Photoshop CS3 becomes sluggish & unresponsive even after loading up small files, and this is with only Bridge open as well, plus McAffee AV. My photos are loaded in from a USB 2 external drive, and my c: drive is used only for programs and windows itself. Even with 4GB of RAM, i am seeing the pagefile increase to 1.6GB, whilst there appears to be 1.5GB of RAM free to use. I've defragged the drive, with defraggler, and after that the only file reported to be fragmented was the pagefile itself. Anyone have any ideas what i can do to improve/solve this?

  • Can't double click files to open them in inDesign (CS5)

    I cannot open a file unless I open inDesign (the program) and then do File-Open If I double click, it starts to open, then just hangs forever. AFTER I close it, and look in the directory where they're saved, I see a (temporary?) "lock" file. Now I can double click the original file and it opens just fine. However, now when I close iD it deletes the file and the whole process starts again... I have tried updating the software, uninstalled COMPLETELY and reinstalled, tried a brand new Win7 install. These files are all saved on a network drive, the computer is a new quad-core Dell with 12GB of RAM and a fresh x64 Win7 install on the SSD. Does not happen with other programs.

    One of the users at our company has a *.pdf file she received from the state of Pennsylvania. The version of Adobe Reader she is using is Adobe Reader XI 11.0.3. She uses this pdf file to send in a report. Her workflow goes like this: She makes a copy of the file. She opens the file and the file displays in purple at the top: Please fill out the following form. You can save data typed into this form. Highlight Existing Fields She fills in the specifics by entering values into the form fields. A few weeks later she returns to the same pdf document and can no longer edit the fields, instead she gets the following message: "This document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document." She's also running Windows 7 and I've been told that the issue was once fixed by setting compatibility mode on Adobe Reader XI to Windows XP SP3.

    I cannot get Adobe Flash working in either Firefox or Chrome. I have tried the Flash-Aid plug in for Firefox but it has not made any difference. As far as I can see, Flash installs without error and Firefox thinks it can run Flash but (for example) YouTube just shows a blank square where the movie should be me.     Using UBUNTU 11.10 the FireFox error message says "A plugin is needed to display this content: Adobe Flash Player Installer" So I install it. Then it says "Installed - restart FireFox" I restart FireFox and the same error message appears.     I am a heavy user of Tweetdeck and few other apps that are built on AIR. It appears that AIR has discontinued support for Linux. Even the older versions in the Adobe AIR Archives seem to support only 32 bit Linux distros and I am on 64 bit Oneiric currently. However, there is no information on how to obtain Adobe Indesign from the Adobe licensing portal. This is our first time dealing with Adobe volume licensing so I'm a bit lost as to what we're suppose to do.   • Adobe Reader not loading form content

    We have an FDL file which is used to offer an online application possibility. The FDL is filled out and sent to a mailbox. When I open the received file, Adobe Reader starts, loads the document in Internet Explorer (had to change my default browser because it doesn't work in chrome - the customer uses IE as default) and displays a warning that Adobe Reader has blocked the connection to the server where the initial document is saved: I can then click on "Trust this document once" (translated by me!) or "Add this host to trusted hosts" (also translated by me!). The second option doesn't work at all. The first option works but is a little bit annoying. I looked into Adobe Readers options (Edit - "Voreinstellungen" in german / the last option - Security (advanced)) and found the possibility to add hosts, files and directories or allow Adobe Reader to use the "Trusted Websites" list from Internetoptions. When I add the website either to Trusted Websites or the trusted list in Adobe Readers options, the warning doesn't pop up but the content in the prefilled (by the applicant) input boxes of the document doesn't show up on Windows 7 but it does show up on Windows XP. This Screenshot shows the settings window described in the last paragraph. The big input box at the bottom normally holds the trusted files/directories/hosts list. System Information: Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Adobe Reader X multiple IE versions (mine is latest but there's also IE 7 or 8) How do I get Adobe Reader to load the content of the form? This behaviour can be reproduced on a PC. When opening an fdf from a command line the form fields are blank even though there is data in the fdf and the pdf is located in a mnaully entered trsuted folder. Steps to reproduce: Clean install a Windows 7 PC (or use a virtual box) Map a network drive to a shared folder with a subfolder e.g. c:\test\docs becomes m:\docs Set security permissions to allow full control to everyone Add an fdf and a matching pdf file in the subfolder Manually add m:\docs to each of the trusted folders in the trust manager registry settings Ensure that Enhanced Security is on Run a command line to open the fdf file Expected result: pdf is opened in Adobe Reader with form fields filled out with data Actual results: pdf is opened with blank fields 'Yellow bar' appears asking to add document to trusted locations It appears that Adobe Reader XI is ignoring the privileged locations entries in the registry. Adding the document via the 'yellow bar' adds the individual document, with the same folder, to the privileged locations but means that the process has to be repeated for every document that needs to be opened from the folder.
