  • Coldfusion autorestart

    - by Comcar
Coldfusion is automatically restarting, a lot. It comes in waves, everything seems fine for a while then the server struggles for a few minutes, restarts a lot then settles down again. I have Fusion Reactor installed, but when CF goes down FR stops logging so it's not really helping. Looking through the archived logs just shows gaps in the logs. These are all the occourances of the phrase "Coldfusion started" today. [root@server2 logs]# grep -i "Coldfusion started" server.log | grep "11/27/12" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:49:35",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:50:46",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:52:39",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:54:08",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:55:12",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:56:29",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:57:36",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:58:57",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","01:59:56",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:01:38",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:03:11",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:04:41",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:07:53",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:10:45",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:11:49",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:13:09",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:14:18",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:15:44",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:17:06",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","02:34:19",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","03:01:20",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","05:25:59",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","06:30:48",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","06:36:20",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:34:07",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:35:39",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:36:41",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:39:15",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:40:42",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:42:55",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:44:23",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:46:18",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:47:35",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:48:53",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:50:04",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:51:51",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:53:05",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:54:24",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:55:28",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:56:38",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:58:03",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","09:59:03",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","10:04:37",,"ColdFusion started" "Information","main","11/27/12","12:04:02",,"ColdFusion started" I've been looking at the live server metrics in FR on a second screen all day, the CPU, Memory and requests all seemed fine about 12 midday, then the server rebooted. Looking at the logs for the hour between 9am and 10am (more than 15 restarts in the hour), the CPU never went over 44% usage and the Memory never exceeded 53% usage - in the recorded stats at least. There is no JDBC tracking at the moment, so I'll add that to tracking and see if it's MySQL causing a problem, but can anyone help me narrow down the problem, what would cause Cold Fusion to auto restart, and I'm assuming the auto restart is only happening because Fusion Reactor is installed. It's a Red Hat 5 LAMP stack running Coldfusion 9 and Fusion Reactor 4.5.2

  • Subdomain takes the position of main site in Google search result

    - by user3578586
We have one domain and one sub-domain. Until last week both of them appear in first page of Google search for very important keyword. Unfortunately Google dropped our main domain from search results. our main site has been in first page for 5 years! About one year ago we build this sub-domain. It simply has been redirected to one of pages of main domain. For solving problem we upload a independent site for sub-domain because we guessed that Google think this is our main page of our site. But problem did not solved. What should we do? our main site offer main services and we we want that will be on first page. Shout down sub-domain? Redirect to main site? Put the link of our main site in sub-domain? (About one year ago we put link of this sub-domain to our main site. Google indexed it and continuously bring that to top.) changing in robots.txt ....

  • Main Memory Database with C++ Interface

    - by myahya
I am looking for a main memory database with a C++ interface. I am looking for a database with a programmatic query interface and preferably one that works with native C++ types. SQLLite, for example, takes queries as string and needs to perform parsing ... which is time consuming. The operations I am looking for are: Creation of tables of arbitrary dimensions (number of attributes) capable of storing integer types. Support for insertion, deletion, selection, projection and (not a priority) joins.

  • R.layout.main error, no solutions have worked

    - by user3404278
I am just beginning to develop for Android. The tutorial book I am using uses the code below, but, put simply, it does not work. As I've searched for an answer, I find that none of the solutions people say have rid them of this error have worked for me. Here is a list of methods that did not work. -Cleaning: It just said it couldn't clean until I resolved the error. -Building the Project: It built it, but the error did not go away. -Deleting import R: The error did not go away. -Renaming import R to import me.package.R: The error persisted. Here is the code that is generating the error. public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); } Can anyone help me out?

  • Why should main() be short?

    - by Stargazer712
I've been programming for over 9 years, and according to the advice of my first programming teacher, I always keep my main() function extremely short. At first I had no idea why. I just obeyed without understanding, much to the delight of my professors. After gaining experience, I realized that if I designed my code correctly, having a short main() function just sortof happened. Writing modularized code and following the single responsibility principle allowed my code to be designed in "bunches", and main() served as nothing more than a catalyst to get the program running. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I was looking at Python's souce code, and I found the main() function: /* Minimal main program -- everything is loaded from the library */ ... int main(int argc, char **argv) { ... return Py_Main(argc, argv); } Yay Python. It seems as though Python did the "Intro to Programming 101" trick and just moved all of main()'s code to a different function called it something very similar to "main". Here's my question: Is this code terribly written, or are there other reasons reasons to have a short main function? As it stands right now, I see absolutely no difference between doing this and just moving the code in Py_Main() back into main(). Am I wrong in thinking this?

It seems as though Python did the "Intro to Programming 101" trick and just moved all of main()'s code to a different function called it something very similar to "main". Here's my question: Is this code terribly written, or are there other reasons to have a short main function? As it stands right now, I see absolutely no difference between doing this and just moving the code in Py_Main() back into main(). Am I wrong in thinking this?

  • android sdk main.out.xml parsing error?

    - by mobibob
I just started a new Android project, "WeekendStudy" to continue learning Android development and I got stumped compiling the default 'hello weekendstudy' compile / run. I think that I missed a step in configuration and setup, but I am at a loss to find out where. I have an AVD configured, set and launched. When I press 'run', the SDK is building a file main.out.xml and then fails as this: [2010-03-06 09:46:47 - WeekendStudy]Error in an XML file: aborting build. • Where and why JVM checks that the return type of entry method main(String args[]) is void and not an

    - by akjain
I will try to answer both, please correct me if I am wrong: Where: If a static method is being called using Classname.method() or using reflection then it doesn’t matter even if you change the return type of the calling method, the same method will still be called. So JVM probably checks this in one of the native methods of jvm.cpp methodHandle m (THREAD, init_klass-find_method(vmSymbols::object_initializer_name(), vmSymbols::void_method_signature())); if (m.is_null()) { ------ THROW_MSG_0 ……….. Why: Although it’s of useless to return a value from main, as java does not do anything with it but if we try to change the return type of main to int for example, JVM throws public static int main(String[] args) { return 1; } java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main Exception in thread "main" So may be Java mandates the use of same signature for entry method main() to maintain a symmetry in all Java programs written.

  • Cannot update, apt-get cannot fetch index files

    - by Evan
I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 from the iso 'ubuntu-11.10-desktop-amd64.iso'. I installed this in VMWare Fusion 4.1.1 running on OSX 10.7.3. When setting up the VM, I allowed easy install to take care of creating my user and installing VMWare tools. No problems during installation, everything seems to be working great. The problem is that apt-get will NOT update, so I can't do software updates or install any software with apt-get install. I have been searching high and low, and have found several threads covering similar issues. How to fix a ruined package catalog? is one, Update manager generates 404 error while attempting update. Will not update is another, Ubuntu 11.10 Update issue (failed to fetch...) is a third I have tried changing my software source download location to "Main Server" rather than "Server for United States", to no avail. Same errors. Tried sudo apt-get clean, sudo apt-get autoclean, Have done a sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*, still having the exact same problem. As I said, this is a brand new installation as of yesterday evening. Since I know it will be needed, here is my output from a sudo apt-get update: evan@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get update Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com oneiric InRelease Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com • Should main method be only consists of object creations and method calls?

    - by crucified soul
A friend of mine told me that, the best practice is class containing main method should be named Main and only contains main method. Also main method should only parse inputs, create other objects and call other methods. The Main class and main method shouldn't do anything else. Basically what he is saying that class containing main method should be like: public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { //parse inputs //create other objects //call methods } } Is it the best practice?

    - by sam
how can i link subdomains to my main domain to get the seo benefit ? ive seen examples using all sorts of clever redirects and php where you get the subdomains content on the main site.. but what i want is for the subdomain to be linked with the main domain, i dont mind it sitting by itself, but id just like to get the seo benefit of it, im aware that google see subdomains as seperate domains but can change / help them to be seen more as one site ?

  • Tracking subdomains in the same profile as the main domain

    - by Osvaldo
I have a site, let's call it http://www.example.com with a non-universal Google analytics account. Now we have to add new functionalities in a subdomain like https://subdomain.example.com as a micro site. On that subdomain the URL's will be something like https://subdomain.example.com?param1=foo&param2=bar We can't change the requirements as both main site and mini-site use a different CMS/application. This is strictly a Google Analytics question. But we need to count pageviews and events that happen in that subdomain (with URLs like https://subdomain.example.com?param1=foo&param2=bar) as belonging to the main domain. So pageviews and events in https://subdomain.example.com?param1=foo&param2=bar need to be recorded as if they happened in http://www.example.com/path/to/whatever/I/want Fortunately we have full control on JavaScript in the main domain site and in the subdomain site too. How can we make this work? Do we need to change tracking code both in the main domain and subdomains? Do we need to reconfigure Google Analytics? Please note again that we do not want to create a new view for the subdomain. Both mini-site and main site should be in the same account, property and view.
