  • Injecting Mockito mocks into a Spring bean

    - by teabot
    I would like to inject a Mockito mock object into a Spring (3+) bean for the purposes of unit testing with JUnit. My bean dependencies are currently injected by using the @Autowired annotation on private member fields. I have considered using ReflectionTestUtils.setField but the bean instance that I wish to inject is actually a proxy and hence does not declare the private member fields of the target class. I do not wish to create a public setter to the dependency as I will then be modifying my interface purely for the purposes of testing. I have followed some advice given by the Spring community but the mock does not get created and the auto-wiring fails: <bean id="dao" class="org.mockito.Mockito" factory-method="mock"> <constructor-arg value="com.package.Dao" /> </bean> The error I currently encounter is as follows: ... Caused by: org...NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type [com.package.Dao] found for dependency: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate for this dependency. Dependency annotations: { @org...Autowired(required=true), @org...Qualifier(value=dao) } at org...DefaultListableBeanFactory.raiseNoSuchBeanDefinitionException(D...y.java:901) at org...DefaultListableBeanFactory.doResolveDependency(D...y.java:770) If I set the constructor-arg value to something invalid no error occurs when starting the application context.

  • Spring @PostConstruct function in a @Repository called multiple times

    - by Seth
    I have a DAO that I'm trying to inject into a couple different places: @Repository public class FooDAO { @Autowired private HibernateManager sessionFactory; @PostConstruct public void doSomeDatabaseStuff() throws DataAccessException { ... } } And my application-context.xml is a fairly simple context:component-scan: <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-2.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/context http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-2.5.xsd" default-init-method="init" default-destroy-method="destroy"> <context:component-scan base-package="top.level"/> </beans> The DAO is accessed from a couple servlets in my application server through @Autowired properties. As far as I understand, anything annotated with @Repository should default to being a singleton and thus doSomeDatabaseStuff() should only be called once (as is my intention). The problem is that I'm seeing doSomeDatabaseStuff() called multiple times. What's going on here? Have I set something up incorrectly? I'm using spring 3.0.0. Thanks for the help.

  • Why do I get Detached Entity exception when upgrading Spring Boot 1.1.4 to 1.1.5

    - by mmeany
    On updating Spring Boot from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 a simple web application started generating detached entity exceptions. Specifically, a post authentication inteceptor that bumped number of visits was causing the problem. A quick check of loaded dependencies showed that Spring Data has been updated from 1.6.1 to 1.6.2 and a further check of the change log shows a couple of issues relating to optimistic locking, version fields and JPA issues that have been fixed. Well I am using a version field and it starts out as Null following recommendation to not set in the specification. I have produced a very simple test scenario where I get detached entity exceptions if the version field starts as null or zero. If I create an entity with version 1 however then I do not get these exceptions. Is this expected behaviour or is there still something amiss? Below is the test scenario I have for this condition. In the scenario the service layer that has been annotated @Transactional. Each test case makes multiple calls to the service layer - the tests are working with detached entities as this is the scenario I am working with in the full blown application. The test case comprises four tests: Test 1 - versionNullCausesAnExceptionOnUpdate() In this test the version field in the detached object is Null. This is how I would usually create the object prior to passing to the service. This test fails with a Detached Entity exception. I would have expected this test to pass. If there is a flaw in the test then the rest of the scenario is probably moot. Test 2 - versionZeroCausesExceptionOnUpdate() In this test I have set the version to value Long(0L). This is an edge case test and included because I found reference to Zero values being used for version field in the Spring Data change log. This test fails with a Detached Entity exception. Of interest simply because the following two tests pass leaving this as an anomaly. Test 3 - versionOneDoesNotCausesExceptionOnUpdate() In this test the version field is set to value Long(1L). Not something I would usually do, but considering the notes in the Spring Data change log I decided to give it a go. This test passes. Would not usually set the version field, but this looks like a work-around until I figure out why the first test is failing. Test 4 - versionOneDoesNotCausesExceptionWithMultipleUpdates() Encouraged by the result of test 3 I pushed the scenario a step further and perform multiple updates on the entity that started life with a version of Long(1L). This test passes. Reinforcement that this may be a useable work-around. The last two tests pass as expected. Now change Spring Boot version to 1.1.4 and rerun, all tests pass. Are my expectations wrong? • @Autowire strange problem

    - by Javi
    Hello, I have a strange behaviour when autowiring I have a similar code like this one, and it works @Controller public class Class1 { @Autowired private Class2 object2; ... } @Service @Transactional public class Class2{ ... } The problem is that I need that the Class2 implements an interface so I've only changed the Class2 so it's now like: @Controller public class Class1 { @Autowired private Class2 object2; ... } @Service @Transactional public class Class2 implements IServiceReference<Class3, Long>{ ... } public interface IServiceReference<T, PK extends Serializable> { public T reference(PK id); } with this code I get a org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type for Class2. It seems that @ Transitional annotation is not compatible with the interface because if I remove the @Transitional annotation or the "implements IServiceReference" the problem disapears and the bean is injected (though I need to have both in this class). It also happens if I put the annotation @Transitional in the methods instead of in the Class. I use Spring 3.0.2 if this helps. Is not compatible the interface with the transactional method? May it be a Spring bug? Thanks

  • SpringMvc Annotations for DAO interface and DAO implementation

    - by dev_darin
    I would like to know if I am annotating these classes correctly, since I am new to the annotations: Country.java @Component public class Country { private int countryId; private String countryName; private String countryCode; /** * No args constructor */ public Country() { } /** * @param countryId * @param countryName * @param countryCode */ public Country(int countryId, String countryName, String countryCode) { this.countryId = countryId; this.countryName = countryName; this.countryCode = countryCode; } //getters and setters } CountryDAO.java @Repository public interface CountryDAO { public List<Country> getCountryList(); public void saveCountry(Country country); public void updateCountry(Country country); } JdbcCountryDAO.java @Component public class JdbcCountryDAO extends JdbcDaoSupport implements CountryDAO{ private final Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(getClass()); @Autowired public List<Country> getCountryList() { int countryId = 6; String countryCode = "AI"; logger.debug("In getCountryList()"); String sql = "SELECT * FROM TBLCOUNTRY WHERE countryId = ? AND countryCode = ?"; logger.debug("Executing getCountryList String "+sql); Object[] parameters = new Object[] {countryId, countryCode}; logger.info(sql); //List<Country> countryList = getJdbcTemplate().query(sql,new CountryMapper()); List<Country> countryList = getJdbcTemplate().query(sql, parameters,new CountryMapper()); return countryList; } CountryManagerIFace.java @Repository public interface CountryManagerIFace extends Serializable{ public void saveCountry(Country country); public List<Country> getCountries(); } CountryManager.java @Component public class CountryManager implements CountryManagerIFace{ @Autowired private CountryDAO countryDao; public void saveCountry(Country country) { countryDao.saveCountry(country); } public List<Country> getCountries() { return countryDao.getCountryList(); } public void setCountryDao(CountryDAO countryDao){ this.countryDao = countryDao; } }

  • How to collect and inject all beans of a given type in Spring XML configuration

    - by GrzegorzOledzki
    One of the strongest accents of the Spring framework is the Dependency Injection concept. I understand one of the advices behind that is to separate general high-level mechanism from low-level details (as announced by Dependency Inversion Principle). Technically, that boils down to having a bean implementation to know as little as possible about a bean being injected as a dependency, e.g. public class PrintOutBean { private LogicBean logicBean; public void action() { System.out.println(logicBean.humanReadableDetails()); } //... } <bean class="PrintOutBean"> <property name="loginBean" ref="ShoppingCartBean"/> </bean> But what if I wanted to a have a high-level mechanism operating on multiple dependent beans? public class MenuManagementBean { private Collection<Option> options; public void printOut() { for (Option option:options) { // do something for option } //... } } I know one solution would be to use @Autowired annotation in the singleton bean, that is... @Autowired private Collection<Option> options; But doesn't it violate the separation principle? Why do I have to specify what dependents to take in the very same place I use them (i.e. MenuManagementBean class in my example)? Is there a way to inject collections of beans in the XML configuration like this (without any annotation in the MMB class)? <bean class="MenuManagementBean"> <property name="options"> <xxx:autowire by-type="MyOptionImpl"/> </property> </bean>

  • Hibernate Lazy init exception in spring scheduled job

    - by Noam Nevo
    I have a spring scheduled job (@Scheduled) that sends emails from my system according to a list of recipients in the DB. This method is annotated with the @Scheduled annotation and it invokes a method from another interface, the method in the interface is annotated with the @Transactional annotation. Now, when i invoke the scheduled method manually, it works perfectly. But when the method is invoked by spring scheduler i get the LazyInitFailed exception in the method implementing the said interface. What am I doing wrong? code: The scheduled method: @Component public class ScheduledReportsSender { public static final int MAX_RETIRES = 3; public static final long HALF_HOUR = 1000 * 60 * 30; @Autowired IScheduledReportDAO scheduledReportDAO; @Autowired IDataService dataService; @Autowired IErrorService errorService; @Scheduled(cron = "0 0 3 ? * *") // every day at 2:10AM public void runDailyReports() { // get all daily reports List<ScheduledReport> scheduledReports = scheduledReportDAO.getDaily(); sendScheduledReports(scheduledReports); } private void sendScheduledReports(List<ScheduledReport> scheduledReports) { if(scheduledReports.size()<1) { return; } //check if data flow ended its process by checking the report_last_updated table in dwh int reportTimeId = scheduledReportDAO.getReportTimeId(); String todayTimeId = DateUtils.getTimeid(DateUtils.getTodayDate()); int yesterdayTimeId = Integer.parseInt(DateUtils.addDaysSafe(todayTimeId, -1)); int counter = 0; //wait for time id to update from the daily flow while (reportTimeId != yesterdayTimeId && counter < MAX_RETIRES) { errorService.logException("Daily report sender, data not ready. Will try again in one hour.", null, null, null); try { Thread.sleep(HALF_HOUR); } catch (InterruptedException ignore) {} reportTimeId = scheduledReportDAO.getReportTimeId(); counter++; } if (counter == MAX_RETIRES) { MarketplaceServiceException mse = new MarketplaceServiceException(); mse.setMessage("Data flow not done for today, reports are not sent."); throw mse; } // get updated timeid updateTimeId(); for (ScheduledReport scheduledReport : scheduledReports) { dataService.generateScheduledReport(scheduledReport); } } } The Invoked interface: public interface IDataService { @Transactional public void generateScheduledReport(ScheduledReport scheduledReport); } The implementation (up to the line of the exception): @Service public class DataService implements IDataService { public void generateScheduledReport(ScheduledReport scheduledReport) { // if no recipients or no export type - return if(scheduledReport.getRecipients()==null || scheduledReport.getRecipients().size()==0 || scheduledReport.getExportType() == null) { return; } } } Stack trace: ERROR: 2012-09-01 03:30:00,365 [Scheduler-15] LazyInitializationException.<init>(42) Hi I've been trying to integrate reCaptcha with my application built on Spring framework, but I am getting this error: org.springframework.web.bind.MissingServletRequestParameterException: Required String parameter 'recaptcha_challenge_field' is not present Could someone help me understand that why am I getting this error. I've got both recaptcha_challenge_field and recaptcha_response_field parameters bound to the User domain object. Could anybody help me understand what am I missing? Thanks Here is the code of the controller I am using, all I am trying to do is register a user with reCaptcha functionality but what I am getting is a http status 400 with the error org.springframework.web.bind.MissingServletRequestParameterException: Required String parameter 'recaptcha_challenge_field' is not present: UserManagementController.java @Controller public class UserManagementController { private static final String RECAPTCHA_HTML = "reCaptchaHtml"; @Autowired private UserService userService; @Autowired private ReCaptcha reCaptcha; @RequestMapping(method=RequestMethod.GET, value="/addNewUser.do") public ModelAndView addNewUser() { User user = new User(); String html = reCaptcha.createRecaptchaHtml(null, null); ModelMap modelMap = new ModelMap(); modelMap.put("user", user); modelMap.put(RECAPTCHA_HTML, html); return new ModelAndView("/addNewUser", modelMap); } @RequestMapping(method=RequestMethod.POST, value="/addNewUser.do") public String addNewUser(@Valid User user, BindingResult result, @RequestParam("recaptcha_challenge_field") String challenge, @RequestParam("recaptcha_response_field") String response, HttpServletRequest request, Model model) { verifyBinding(result); String remoteAddr = request.getRemoteAddr(); ReCaptchaResponse reCaptchaResponse = reCaptcha.checkAnswer(remoteAddr, challenge, response); if (!reCaptchaResponse.isValid()) { result.rejectValue("captcha", "errors.badCaptcha"); } model.addAttribute("user", user); if (result.hasErrors()) { result.reject("form.problems"); return "addNewUser"; } return "redirect:showContent.do"; } @InitBinder public void initBinder(WebDataBinder binder) { binder.setAllowedFields(new String[] { "firstName", "lastName", "email", "username", "password", "recaptcha_challenge_field", "recaptcha_response_field" }); } private void verifyBinding(BindingResult result) { String[] suppressedFields = result.getSuppressedFields(); if (suppressedFields.length > 0) { throw new RuntimeException("You've attempted to bind fields that haven't been allowed in initBinder(): " + StringUtils.join(suppressedFields, ", ")); } } } Here is the addNewUser.jsp element on the form page for the above controller: <tr> <td>Please prove you're a person</td> <td>${reCaptchaHtml}</td> <td><form:errors path="captcha" cssStyle="color:red"></form:errors></td> </tr> Could you help me understand what am I missing here? Thanks for reply.

  • Hibernate @Transactional not starting transaction

    - by rhinds
    I have a web app using Hibernate, and I am attempting to persist some data, but it is failing to persist within a Transaction despite using the @Transactional annotation. My service class is as follows: @Service("profileService") public class ProfileService { private EntityManager entityManager; @Autowired private AccountService accountService; @Autowired private ProfileDAOImpl profileDao; @PersistenceContext public void setEntityManager(EntityManager em) { this.entityManager = em; } @Transactional public void addConnectionToAccount(SocialConnection sc) { entityManager.persist(sc); } } The addConnectionToAccount() method is being called from another Spring bean in a normal method, and the ProfileService class is currently being injected there: public class HibernateConnectionRepository implements ConnectionRepository { @Inject private ProfileService profileService; @Override @Transactional public void addConnection(SocialConnection sc) { try { profileService.addConnectionToAccount(accountId, sc); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } I tried putting the @Transactional annotation on the calling method in the vain hope that it might make a difference but nothing. Previously I have experienced problems like this its been because the object being persisted does not satisfy table restrictions (such as non-nullable columns as null) or because the method is being called from within the same class and the calling method is not Transactional, but neither of those are the case here.. Any ideas? it just fails silently, the logs are as follows: 2012-03-26 22:25:04,702 [http-bio-8085-exec-9] DEBUG com.mchange.v2.resourcepool.BasicResourcePool - trace com.mchange.v2.resourcepool.BasicResourcePool@1bc25c8 [managed: 3, unused: 2, excluded: 0] (e.g. com.mchange.v2.c3p0.impl.NewPooledConnection@e5b006) 2012-03-26 22:25:04,710 [http-bio-8085-exec-9] DEBUG org.hibernate.SQL - select SEQ_COUNT from SEQUENCE where SEQ_NAME = 'PO_SEQ' for update 2012-03-26 22:25:04,711 [http-bio-8085-exec-9] DEBUG org.hibernate.SQL - update SEQUENCE set SEQ_COUNT = ? where SEQ_COUNT = ? and SEQ_NAME = 'PO_SEQ' 2012-03-26 22:25:04,723 [http-bio-8085-exec-9] DEBUG com.mchange.v2.resourcepool.BasicResourcePool - trace com.mchange.v2.resourcepool.BasicResourcePool@1bc25c8 [managed: 3, unused: 2, excluded: 0] (e.g. com.mchange.v2.c3p0.impl.NewPooledConnection@e5b006) 2012-03-26 22:25:04,723 [http-bio-8085-exec-9] DEBUG org.hibernate.event.internal.AbstractSaveEventListener - Generated identifier: 2200, using strategy: org.hibernate.id.MultipleHiLoPerTableGenerator UPDATE Also wanted to mention that the HibernateConnectionRepository bean is not annotated and is actually being configured in an @Configuration class (if this makes any difference? not used @Configuration classes much). The method to create the bean is as follows: @Bean @Scope(value = "request", proxyMode = ScopedProxyMode.INTERFACES) public ConnectionRepository connectionRepository() { Authentication authentication = SecurityContextHolder.getContext().getAuthentication(); if (authentication == null) { throw new IllegalStateException("Unable to get a ConnectionRepository: no user signed in"); } ApplicationUser user = (ApplicationUser) authentication.getPrincipal(); return usersConnectionRepository().createConnectionRepository(String.valueOf(user.getAccountId())); } The bean is scoped to the logged in user, but may also be created multiple times for each user..

  • Two Persistence Units, Two entityManagerFactory(s), SPring, JPA, Hibernate

    - by sebajb
    I am using Two entityManagerFactory{1,2} based on two persistence units, autowired through spring, hibernate, with resource local. My DaoImpls are configured with the PersistenceUnit(unitName='...') according to the unit needed. I was under the impression that using them with the unitName specified would allow me to use x number of PUs without problem but I still get: expected single matching bean but found two: [emf1, emf2]. Am I missing some other configuration?

  • NoSuchMethodError with Spring MutableValues

    Hello experts! I have written a test where i specify my application context location with annotations. I then autowire my dao into the test. @ContextConfiguration(locations = {"file:service/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml"}) public class MyTest extends AbstractTestNGSpringContextTests { @Autowired protected MyDao myDao; private PlatformTransactionManager transactionManager; private TransactionTemplate transactionTemplate; @Test public void shouldSaveEntityToDb() { transactionTemplate.execute(new TransactionCallbackWithoutResult() { protected void doInTransactionWithoutResult(TransactionStatus status) { Entity entity = new Entity(); //test myDao.save(entity) //assert assertNotNull(entity.getId()); } }); } When i run the test i get an exception which states that the application context could not be loaded and it boils down to: Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.springframework.beans.MutablePropertyValues.add(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/Object;)Lorg/springframework/beans/MutablePropertyValues; I have no idea where to start looking, why do i get this error and how can i resolve it? • Spring MVC Web PetClinic Tutorial?

    - by wuntee
    Is there a tutorial that goes along with the PetClinic application? I have been trying to find one, but google is not helping me today. Specifically, I dont understand things like: @Autowired - what does that even mean? @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.GET) public String setupForm(@RequestParam("petId") int petId, ModelMap model) { Pet pet = this.clinic.loadPet(petId); model.addAttribute("pet", pet); return "petForm"; } How can a request return just a string? Shouldnt it need to return some sort of ModelAndView? Or does the application somehow redirect to whatever is returned? A lot of confusing concepts - if there is a tutorial, or video (like spring-security has) that would be very helpful. Thanks.

  • Spring constructor injection of SLF4J logger - how to get injection target class?

    - by disown
    I'm trying to use Spring to inject a SLF4J logger into a class like so: @Component public class Example { private final Logger logger; @Autowired public Example(final Logger logger) { this.logger = logger; } } I've found the FactoryBean class, which I've implemented. But the problem is that I cannot get any information about the injection target: public class LoggingFactoryBean implements FactoryBean<Logger> { @Override public Class<?> getObjectType() { return Logger.class; } @Override public boolean isSingleton() { return false; } @Override public Logger getObject() throws Exception { return LoggerFactory.getLogger(/* how do I get a hold of the target class (Example.class) here? */); } } Is FactoryBean even the right way to go? When using picocontainers factory injection, you get the Type of the target passed in. In guice it is a bit trickier. But how do you accomplish this in Spring?

(I want to avoid using EAGER loading). Do I need to setup some form of session management for transactions? Thanks

  • Is it possible to inject a bean into a spring form bean

    - by Mike
    I tried to do it 2 different ways, but neither way worked. @Component public class EmailForm{ ... private QuestionDAO questionDAO; ... @Autowired public void setQuestionDAO(QuestionDAO questionDAO) { this.questionDAO = questionDAO; } ... Another way: @Component public class EmailForm implements ApplicationContextAware { ... public void setApplicationContext(ApplicationContext applicationContext) throws BeansException { this.questionDAO = (QuestionDAO)applicationContext.getBean("questionDAO"); } ... Neither way results in questionDAO being injected Form bean is populated by spring: @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.POST) public String submit(@Valid final EmailForm emailForm, BindingResult result, final Model model) {

  • Starting new transaction in Spring bean

    - by Marcus
    We have: @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRED) public class MyClass implementes MyInterface { ... MyInterface has a single method: go(). When go() executes we start a new transaction which commits/rollbacks when the method is complete - this is fine. Now let's say in go() we call a private method in MyClass that has @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRES_NEW. It seems that Spring "ignores" the REQUIRES_NEW annotation and does not start a new transaction. I believe this is because Spring AOP operates on the interface level (MyInterface) and does not intercept any calls to MyClass methods. Is this correct? Is there any way to start a new transaction within the go() transaction? Is the only way to call another Spring managed bean that has transactions configured as REQUIRES_NEW? Update: Adding that when clients execute go() they do so via a reference to the interface, not the class: @Autowired MyInterface impl; impl.go();

  • spring mvc forward to jsp

    - by jerluc
    I currently have my web.xml configured to catch 404s and send them to my spring controller which will perform a search given the original URL request. The functionality is all there as far as the catch and search go, however the trouble begins to arise when I try to return a view. <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.ContentNegotiatingViewResolver" p:order="1"> <property name="mediaTypes"> <map> <entry key="json" value="application/json" /> <entry key="jsp" value="text/html" /> </map> </property> <property name="defaultContentType" value="application/json" /> <property name="favorPathExtension" value="true" /> <property name="viewResolvers"> <list> <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.BeanNameViewResolver" /> <bean id="viewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver"> <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/jsp/" /> <property name="suffix" value="" /> </bean> </list> </property> <property name="defaultViews"> <list> <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.json.MappingJacksonJsonView" /> </list> </property> <property name="ignoreAcceptHeader" value="true" /> </bean> This is a snippet from my MVC config file. The problem lies in resolving the view's path to the /WEB-INF/jsp/ directory. Using a logger in my JBoss setup, I can see that when I test this search controller by going to a non-existent page, the following occurs: Server can't find the request Request is sent to 404 error page (in this case my search controller) Search controller performs search Search controller returns view name (for this illustration, we'll assume test.jsp is returned) Based off of server logger, I can see that org.springframework.web.servlet.view.JstlView is initialized once my search controller returns the view name (so I can assume it is being picked up correctly by the InternalResourceViewResolver) Server attempts to return content to browser resulting in a 404! A couple things confuse me about this: I'm not 100% sure why this isn't resolving when test.jsp clearly exists under the /WEB-INF/jsp/ directory. Even if there was some other problem, why would this result in a 404? Shouldn't a 404 error page that results in another 404 theoretically create an infinite loop? Thanks for any help or pointers! Controller class [incomplete]: @Controller public class SiteMapController { //-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @Autowired(required=true) private SearchService search; @Autowired(required=true) private CatalogService catalog; //-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @RequestMapping(value = "/sitemap", method = RequestMethod.GET) public String sitemap (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) { String forwardPath = ""; try { long startTime = System.nanoTime() / 1000000; String pathQuery = (String) request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.error.request_uri"); Scanner pathScanner = new Scanner(pathQuery).useDelimiter("\\/"); String context = pathScanner.next(); List<ProductLightDTO> results = new ArrayList<ProductLightDTO>(); StringBuilder query = new StringBuilder(); String currentValue; while (pathScanner.hasNext()) { currentValue = pathScanner.next().toLowerCase(); System.out.println(currentValue); if (query.length() > 0) query.append(" AND "); if (currentValue.contains("-")) { query.append("\""); query.append(currentValue.replace("-", " ")); query.append("\""); } else { query.append(currentValue + "*"); } } //results.addAll(this.doSearch(query.toString())); System.out.println("Request: " + pathQuery); System.out.println("Built Query:" + query.toString()); //System.out.println("Result size: " + results.size()); long totalTime = (System.nanoTime() / 1000000) - startTime; System.out.println("Total TTP: " + totalTime + "ms"); if (results == null || results.size() == 0) { forwardPath = "home.jsp"; } else if (results.size() == 1) { forwardPath = "product.jsp"; } else { forwardPath = "category.jsp"; } } catch (Exception ex) { System.err.println(ex); } System.out.println("Returning view: " + forwardPath); return forwardPath; } }

  • Spring @Value annotation not using defaults when property is not present

    - by garyj
    Hi All I am trying to use @Value annotation in the parameters of a constructor as follows: @Autowired public StringEncryptor( @Value("${encryptor.password:\"\"}") String password, @Value("${encryptor.algorithm:\"PBEWithMD5AndTripleDES\"}") String algorithm, @Value("${encryptor.poolSize:10}") Integer poolSize, @Value("${encryptor.salt:\"\"}") String salt) { ... } When the properties file is present on the classpath, the properties are loaded perfectly and the test executes fine. However when I remove the properties file from the classpath, I would have expected that the default values would have been used, for example poolSize would be set to 10 or algorithm to PBEWithMD5AndTripleDES however this is not the case. Running the code through a debugger (which would only work after changing @Value("${encryptor.poolSize:10}") Integer poolSize to @Value("${encryptor.poolSize:10}") String poolSize as it was causing NumberFormatExceptions) I find that the defaults are not being set and the parameters are in the form of: poolSize = ${encryptor.poolSize:10} or algorithm = ${encryptor.algorithm:"PBEWithMD5AndTripleDES"} rather than the expected poolSize = 10 or algorithm = "PBEWithMD5AndTripleDES" Based on SPR-4785 the notation such as ${my.property:myDefaultValue} should work. Yet it's not happening for me! Thank you

  • @Secured not working

    - by user3640507
    I am new to spring and trying to implement Role based authorization with the help of @Secured annotation. I have a method which is specifically for ADMIN and I have written @Secured ("ROLE_ADMIN") to secure it. @Secured ("ROLE_ADMIN") public void HelloUser(String name) { System.out.println("Hello ADMIN"); } Now when I call this method by creating a class object it gets called eventhough user dont have ADMIN authority But when I dont create an object and use @autowired annotation instead then it works i.e User is not allowed to access this method. In my security.xml as well as servlet.xml I have added <global-method-security secured-annotations="enabled" /> Can some one please tell me where I am going wrong or is this the natural behaviour in spring ?
