  • Drupal using views with CCK custom fields

    I've got a Drupal site which uses a custom field for a certain type of node (person_id) which corresponds to a particular user. I want to create a view so that when logged in, a user can see a list of nodes 'tagged' with their person_id. I've got the view working fine, with a url of my-library/username but replacing username with a different username shows a list of all nodes tagged with that user. What I want to do is stop users changing the URL and seeing other users' tagged nodes. How can I do this? Is there somewhere where I can dictate that the only valid argument for this page is the one that corresponds with the current logged in user's username?

  • Drupal 6 CCK - Having a textbox appear when 'Other' is selected

    I have a special content-type that I have created, and one of the fields is a radio button list. The last element is named 'Other' and I would like to have a textbox appear and allow the user to enter in a non-defined value. Is this sort of capability provided by any sort of module, or is this something that needs to be coded by hand? (If so, would you mind pointing me in the correct direction?)

  • Changing CCK content-types details results in numerous DB calls for the menu system

    Every time I make a change in the details of a content-type it takes too long. I though it had to do with the fact that I had too many content-types and fields (~500), but when I load the devel module to see the queries that take that long I see: Executed 32212 queries in 12267.57 milliseconds. Queries taking longer than 5 ms and queries executed more than once, are highlighted. Page execution time was 55763.32 ms When I see the details I notice that the vast majority of db calls come from the menu system, e.g.: _menu_route menu_local_tasks admin_menu_link_save Why is that? Can I avoid some of these? It doesn't seem logical!

Since I want to expose it, I want an unique text-input field for all CCK Fields: is that possible ? At the moment I can only add a new filter for each CCK field. Thanks

    Hi I have a multi value cck field in my cck content type. I want to simulate click on "add another item" using jquery. which is like $('#edit-field-supp-quan-field-supp-quan-add-more').trigger('click'); but it causes whole content form to submit instead of adding extra multi value cck field. Manuall clicks are working perfectly. Can anyone tell me why behavior of manual clicks and simulated clicks are different. thanks ----Update ---- This is the code I was using:- $('#edit-field-freightamount-0-value').click(function(){ alert('hello'); $('#edit-field-supp-quan-field-supp-quan-add-more').trigger('click'); //$('.form-submit ahah-processed').trigger('click'); }); I actually intended to call this from inside some other function but I just wanted to test it before that .     I'm not intimately familiar with CCK but I have a one-time custom setup and know that I could get some performance gains if I created indexes and changed the field type and length of some of the fields in my CCK table.     I'm trying to create a node (B type) & assign it to a A type node's CCK nodereference field using node_save() method. $node_type_A = node_load($some_nid); $node_type_A->field_type_B_node_ref[]['nid'] = $node_type_B_nid; $node_type_A = node_submit($node_type_A); node_save($node_type_A); As the result, a new B type node will be created, but no reference will be assigned to the A type node. any help would be appreciated.

I am using drupal_execute to create a node programatically. The first line is working for field_prx_mp3_labels. The second (for taxonomy) is not. This content type is also bound to a module, but this module doesn't have any admin screens, all node creation is done through the standard cck interface. any ideas?     Is there a way to do the following. We need to have a few basic cck types that will allow users to track their chosen parameters over a length of time. For example, one cck type may be called "numeric tracker" It would have a field for labeling the type and a field for entering a number. User A might label one numeric tracker "miles driven". Then each day user A would use this type to enter a number. User B might label a numeric tracker "hours slept". Each day user B would enter a number. Is there a way to use cck in this way?

    I'm probably going about this the wrong way but... I’ve added a field to the User Profile called profile_real_name which is required by the user. Is there a way to access the details in CCK? For example in CCK when creating a new field I can access the user’s username with the ‘User reference’ Field type and setting the ‘Widget type’ to ‘Autocomplete text field’.   • Drupal 6: How to quickly theme a view ?

    I've defined a view with the cck and view2 modules. I would like to quickly define a template specific to this view. Any tutorial or information on this ? What are the files I need to modify ? Here are my findings: (Edited) In fact there are two ways to theme a view : the "field" way and the "node" way. In "edit View", you can choose "Row style: Node", or "Row style: Fields". with the "Node" way, you can create a node-contentname.tpl.php wich will be called for each node in the view. You'll have access to your cck field values with $field_name[0]['value']. (edit2) You can use node-view-viewname.tpl.php wich will be only called for each node displayed from this view. with the "Field" way, you add a views-view-field--viewname--field-name-value.tpl.php for each field you want to theme individually. Thanks to previous responses, I've used the following tools : In the 'Basic Settings' block, the 'Theme: Information' to see all the different templates you can modify. The Devel module's "Theme developer" to quickly find the field variable names. View 2 documentation, especially the "Using Theme" page.
