  • Insert character infront of each word in a string using C++

    Hi all, I have a string, for example; "llama,goat,cow" and I just need to put a '@' in front of each word so my string will look like "@llama,@goat,@cow", but I need the values to be dynamic also, and always with a '@' at the beginning. Not knowing a great deal of C++ could someone please help me find the easiest solution to this problem? Many thanks in advance.

    i am to design a server that needs to serve millions of clients that are simultaneously connected with the server via TCP. the data traffic between the server and the clients may be sparse. so bandwidth issue can be ignored. one important requirement is that whenever the server needs to send data to any client it can use the existing TCP connection instead of opening a new connection toward the client (because client can be behind a firewall). does anybody know how to do it and what hardware/software is needed (at the least cost)? thanks in advance for any suggestion.

  • body onload cache not clearing

    I'm using an image swapping function generated by Dreamweaver to allow an image to change when moused over. The images are small. I have a problem because the images are getting stored in cache and without clearing it out I cant get the new images to show. It works on some browsers, but unfortunately not on all... I've read about putting "a random query" into the javascript to force the page to reload, but I dont know where to put it (the code was generated for me by dreamweaver).     I am trying to use NetBeans to bind a JTextField to the selected element of a JTable. The JTable gets its data from an AbstractTableModel subclass which returns Cow objects. At present, each Cow object is displayed as a string through its toString method. The binding seems obvious but does not work; the bound value of the text field is always null.     Hi! The end of my loop causes a EXC_BAD_ACCESS. Here's my dictionary (AppDelegate.data): 1 = ( 3, "Test 1", False, "" ); 2 = ( 4, "Test 2", False, "" ); And here is my loop: for (id theKey in AppDelegate.data) { if (theKey = nil) { NSLog(@"HOLY COW"); } else { NSLog(@"Key: %@ ?", theKey); } } It never says holy cow, and it says the right key but at the end it crashes... Do you have any idea why? It should only loop on 1 and two and then exit the loop... I know that there's always a "nil" object at the end that's why I did a condition with it but it doesn't look like it works at all.. Thanks!

  • Using svn remove - preserve file on disk instead of having it deleted?

    Hi, I am creating an eclipse project, which generates a lot of files I don't want to keep under version control. For example, it creates a project folder like: project/ bin/ horse.class cow.class src/ horse.java cow.java so what I do is add the project folder to svn, like: svn add project this puts everything under control, even the bin and .class files. All of those files will have the little 'a' next to them. How can I simply remove the 'add' status from those files? If I try: svn remove bin/horse.class I have to use the --force option and it deletes the file from disk. Is there a way to simply remove it from source but not delete the file from disk? Thanks

    hi all, I'm using jQuery to parse some XML, like so: function enumOptions(xml) { $(xml).find("animal").each(function(){ alert($(this).text()); }); } enumOptions("<root><animal>cow</animal><animal>squirrel</animal></root>"); This works great. However if I try and look for nodes called "option" then it doesn't work: function enumOptions(xml) { $(xml).find("option").each(function(){ alert($(this).text()); }); } enumOptions("<root><option>cow</option><option>squirrel</option></root>"); There's no error, just nothing gets alerted, as if the find isn't finding anything. It only does it for nodes called option everything else I tested works ok! I'm using the current version of jQuery - 1.4.2. Anyone any idea? TIA. bg

Author Seth Godin delivered an entertaining presentation that included an in-depth exploration of the always-connected, always-sharing experience revolution that we are witnessing and yes, talked about the purple cow. It turns out that customer experience is your way to be the purple cow. Before everyone headed out to see Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon at the Oracle customer appreciation event, the day wrapped up with a discussion around building a customer-centric culture. Where do you start? Whom does it involve? What are some pitfalls to avoid? Day 2: The second day addressed the details behind all the questions brought up at the end of Day 1. Before you start on a customer experience initiative, Paul Hagen noted that you must understand you will forge a path similar to Copernicus. You will be proposing ideas and approaches that challenge current thinking in your organization. Just as Copernicus' heliocentric theory started a scientific revolution, your customer-centric efforts will start an experience revolution. If you think customer experience is like a traditional marketing approach, think again. It’s not about controlling your customers and leading them where you want them to go. It might sound like heresy to some, but your customers are already in control, whether or not your company realizes and acknowledges it. And, to survive and thrive, you'll have to focus on customers by thinking outside-in and working towards a brand that is better and more authentic. We learned how Vail Resorts takes this customer-centric approach. Employees must experience the mountain themselves and understand the experience from the guest’s standpoint. This has created a culture where employees do things for guests that are not expected. We also learned a valuable lesson in designing and innovating customer-centered experiences from Kerry Bodine. First you make the thing, and then you make the thing right. In this case, the thing is customer experience. Getting customer experience right means iterative prototyping and testing of your ideas. This is where shampoo comes in—think lather, rinse, repeat. Be prepared to keep repeating until the customer experience is right.     I have migrated a file based Xen guest to LVM using dd bs=1M if=/dev/zero of=/dev/vg00/vm10 qemu-img convert ~/vm10.qcow2 -O raw /dev/vg00/vm10 and changed the Xen domain file for the VM to use the LV instead of the old file. I've seen many games like this, but it seems that most don't have a home page or have an unknown publisher. I saw this thing called the "impossible object", while they're many different images of this online, it's suppost to be impossible geometry. Here is an example: Now as far as logic goes, I know you don't have to obey it in games, such as a flying cow, or an impossible object. So that's out of the way, but what stands in my way is whether or not there is a way to draw this onto a 3D scene. Like is there a way to represent it as a 3D object? Thanks!

  • Looking for a good C++ based RSS API

    I tried http://code.google.com/p/feed-reader-lib but holy cow, talk about difficult to build. It has a nightmare of dependencies on Xerces and Xalan, both of which seem to be choking under the new VisualStudio 2010 C++ compiler. I've wasted hours trying to build this thing which is a shame. Does anyone have anything a little easier to hit the ground running with?
