  • Apache Unclean shutdown of previous apache run

    I'm having problem with running Apache2.2 on my Vista machine. When I clean install Apache it works just fine, but after I installed PHP, I'm getting this error message in logs. [Fri Oct 23 21:29:02 2009] [warn] pid file C:/Dev/Apache2.2/logs/httpd.pid overwritten -- Unclean shutdown of previous Apache run? Apache service was stopped when installing PHP. I did only one shutdown before instalation via Apache Service Monitor. Deleting httpd.pid and starting again doesn't help. I even tried to lookup process with PID in that file, but there is no such process.

  • Can't Login to phpPgAdmin

    I'm trying to set up phpPgAdmin on my test machine so that I can interface with PostgreSQL without always having to use the psql CLI. I have PostgreSQL 9.1 installed via the RPM repository, while I installed phpPgAdmin 5.0.4 "manually" (by extracting the archive from the phpPgAdmin website). For the record, my host OS is CentOS 6.2. I made the following configuration changes already: PostgreSQL Inside pg_hba.conf, I changed all METHODs to md5. I gave the postgres account a password I added a new account named webuser with a password (note that I did not do anything else to the account, so I can't exactly say that I know what permissions it has and all) phpPgAdmin config.inc.php Changed the line $conf['servers'][0]['host'] = ''; to $conf['servers'][0]['host'] = '127.0.0.1'; (I've also tried using localhost as the value there). Set $conf['extra_login_security'] to false. Whenever I try to log in to phpPgAdmin, I get "Login failed", even if I use successful credentials (ones that work in psql). I've tried to go through some of the steps noted in Question 3 in the FAQ, but it hasn't worked out well so far there. It likely does not help that this is my first day working with PostgreSQL. I'm farily familiar with MySQL, but I have to use PostgreSQL for the project I'm working on. Could anyone offer some help for how to set up phpPgAdmin on CentOS 6.2? If I've done something terribly wrong in my configuration so far, it's no big deal to blow something/everything away, as it's not like I've stored any data there yet! I appreciate any insight you may have!

    I'm trying to install my own git server with these instructions. http://cisight.com/how-to-setup-git-server-using-gitolite-in-ubuntu-11-10-oneiric/ But I am get stuck at this point. git clone --verbose [email protected]:testing.git Cloning into 'testing'... Permission denied (publickey). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly And I think it has something to do with this: gitolite@ip-xxxx:~$ gl-setup tmp/john.pub key_read: uudecode Aklkdfgkldkgldkgldkgfdlkgldkgdlfkgldkgldkgdlkgkfdnknbkdnbkdnbkdnbkfnbkdfnbkdnfbkdfnbdknbkdnbkfnbkdbnkdbnkdfnbkd [email protected] failed fprint failed I always get the fail and I think its preventing me from cloning repo.The repo is there along with gitolite-admin.git repo.   • "Open file location" is broken for Win Live Photo Gallery and Chrome

    Symptoms: Windows Live Photo Gallery: Right clicking on an image (.jpg, .png) and selecting the context menu item "Open file location" should open the containing folder in explorer. Instead, I get an error dialog stating "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel." Chrome: After downloading a file (of any type), clicking the down arrow on the download status bar at the bottom and clicking "Show in folder" results in the same error dialog mentioned above. I'm using Windows 7. I'm pretty sure this is a registry entry gone bad but I've been unable to locate any information about this specific problem. It's not a file type association problem as I am not trying to open the files concerned, I'm trying to open an explorer window at the location for the file. I've found a similar issue that somebody had with explorer itself. However, the suggested registry fixes here for "Folder", "Directory" and "Drive" did not solve the problem. Also, If I use the searchbar in explorer to do a search, right click on a file and choose "Open file location", explorer jumps to that location without any trouble. I have not yet identified other programs with this issue.

  • Windows XP - removing write protection for usb drives

    I have a laptop who used to belong to my company and when I plug in a usb memory drive, I cannot write any files to it. This is because company policy did not allow writing to usb drives without a special authorization (to prevent theft of files). However the laptop is now mine, and I was given the administrator password, so I am guessing that as administrator I can remove this protection somehow. How can I do this? Currently if I try to copy a file to the drive, Windows simply tells me that the drive is write-protected, whatever usb drive I plug in. Maybe it is some registry setting? Thank you.

  • Problem with running open office from the command line

    Yesterday I installed OpenOffice on my Linux server. But when I go to run it through the command line, it says command cannot be found. I've also tried other things like OOWriter, etc. Has anyone had this problem?   • Editing sudoers file to restrict a user's commands

    Is it possible to edit the sudoers file so a user can use sudo for any command except for a specified one? I reverse is true, I believe, that the sudoers file can be setup so that a user can only execute a given list of commands. EDIT: the commands I really want to take away are halt and reboot... this makes me think there are special system calls for halt and reboot. Can you take system calls away from a user? If not, is it because the unix permission system abstracts over system calls neglecting this?

  • Cobalt Qube 3 Unresponsive

    I recently bought a used Cobalt Qube 3 server off of eBay. The seller listed it as working before it was shipped. After starting it up for the first time, the "Cobalt Networks" logo scrolled across the LCD screen (this is normal), but then it stayed there. It will not go away, and the server will not respond to any of the buttons besides turning it off. I read the manual, and it does not say anything about this normally occurring. If necessary, could anyone walk me through or provide links to a reset tutorial? I have the OS Restore CD. Please help? I'm not sure why my question is being downvoted but if you need any more information please comment.

  • How to run "mongodb --repair" if it's an Upstart job?

    My MongoDB server died. The log says something about an unclean shutdown and an existing mongodb.lock file. It recommends to remove the lock file, then restart the mongodb server with --repair. However, on my system (Ubuntu 10.10), I've installed MongoDB via an apt-get package, and it's set up as Upstart job. If I run mongodb from the command line, it won't find the data, none of the paths are set correctly. Surely, I could read the man page, try to emulate what Upstart would do, give it all the correct parameters plus --repair but that seems like a lot of trouble. There must be a simpler way, that's not fighting Upstart. What is it?

  • How do I disable administrator prompt in Windows 8?

    I am using Windows 8 Enterprise on my development machine. Most of the time, I need full administrator for debugging, changing system files, etc. In Windows 7, setting UAC to "never notify" would disable any administrator prompts. In Windows 8 this is no longer the case. Even with UAC disabled I get prompted to grant programs elevated privileges. Is there a way disable this behaviour? Note: I am fully aware of the repercussions. I have antivirus, firewall, etc and am generally quite careful about what I download or install on my machine.

  • Changed file and now I cannot access my SSH anymore

    I was trying to get my dedicated server to have a couple of VPS's installed using this tutorial: http://linux-vserver.org/Installation_on_CentOS In the process I had to change a file: /etc/ssh/sshd_config The documentation advises to change it into: ListenAddress <host IP address> Guess what? I literally added <host IP address> instead of the dedicated servers IP. I restarted the server and now I'm not able to access my SSH anymore. Can anyone help me to gain access to my SSH again? I'm using CentOS 6.

    I’m using TextMate 1.5.10 on OS X Lion, and for some weird reason I don‘t get autocomplete for single quotes ('). Double quotes (") work fine. Since I personally prefer to use single quotes whenever I code in JavaScript or PHP, that thing annoys me a little. And as far I have googled, TextMate is actually supposed to autoclose single quotes by default. So why doesn’t this work for me and how do I force-enable this feature?

  • Why doesn't this script work?

    I've been using this bash script: for i in $(ls); do mv $i a$i; done to prepend all filenames in a folder with the letter a. I'm afraid that at some point I'll accidentally use this script in the wrong directory and prepend a ton of filenames that I don't want prepended. So I decided to explicitly cite the path to the file. So now my script looks like this: for i in $(ls /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images); do mv /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images/$i /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images/a$i; done It does prepend the filename with the letter a, but it also appends the filename with this ? symbol. Any ideas why it would do that? If it helps any, I'm using cygwin on a Windows 7 box. Thanks for the help!

  • SQL Reporting Services - Subreports Broken into multiple columns

    Hi, I inherited an SQL Reporting Services .rdl project from somebody and need help fixing some functionality. In each row of the report, there is a subreport. In order to save space the subreport is divided into 3. Such that in each row of the report, it splits the data of the subreport into 3 smaller tables. Right now, it fills these 3 subreports horizontally. (ie. if the result has 9 values, the first subtable will have 1, 4 & 7, the second subtable will have 2, 5 & 8, etc) Is there a way to have it fill the subtables vertically? (ie. the first subtable would have 1,2 & 3) Thanks!

Since it's a non-fatal error , there is no crash and all seems to works fine..but i don't like the error.     I'm trying to write a Greasemonkey script to update the onclick value of a bunch of links on a page. The HTML looks like this: <a onclick="OpenGenericPopup('url-99.asp','popup',500,500,false)" href="javascript:void(0)">text</a> I need to update the url-99.asp part of the Javascript into something like urlB-99.asp. In my script, I'm collecting all the links with an XPath expression and iterating through them: var allEl = document.evaluate( 'td[@class="my-class"]/a', document, null, XPathResult.UNORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE, null); for (var i = 0; i < allEl.snapshotLength; i++) { var el = allEl.snapshotItem(i); //something here; } If I try to alert(el.onclick), I get an error in the console: Component is not available I've read up on unsafeWindow and other Greasemonkey features, and I understand how to set an event handler for that link with a new onClick event, but how do I read the current onclick value into a string so I can manipulate it and update the element?

  • iPhone SDK: TextView, Keyboard in Landscape mode

    Hello. How do I make sure that the textview is shown and the keyboard is not obscuring the textview, while in landscape. Using UICatalog I created a TextViewController which works. In it there are two methods for calling the keyboard and making sure that textView is positioned above the keyboard. his just works great in Portrait mode. I got the Landscape mode working, but on the textView is still being put to the top of the iPhone to compensate for the keyboard in portrait mode. I changed the methods for showing the keyboards.   • Breakpoints are ignored when debugging in Visual Studio 2008 on 64-bit system

    I'm trying to debug an ASP.NET web application in this environment: Windows Server Standard 2008 SP2 x64 Single-core CPU 4GB RAM Visual Studio 2008 with Remote Debugger SP1 .NET 3.5 Web Application running in IIS in 64-bit mode The code I am trying to debug is a simple event handler with some basic sequential code. What I observe is that breakpoints get randomly ignored and VS often exits debug mode when I try to step through the code. The code is compiled in debug mode. I've tried all the usual steps: iisreset, reboot VM, rebuild solution, reinstall Visual Studio. Any ideas?

Why is my code not working? Are there any intermediate results I can check? I am not posting the IntegerPolynomial code because it isn't too interesting and I have unit tests for it that pass. CompResResult is just a simple "Java struct".
