  • How do I tweet, using the DotNetOpenAuth library?

    I just downloaded the DotNetOpenAuth library and ran the AuthConsumer demo. It is an excellent library so far! Everything worked as advertised, which has not been my experience with a lot of Facebook and Twitter sample code that I have been working with recently. What I am trying to figure out is: How do I tweet using this library? I am currently planning to implement this in ASP MVC, but my initial thoughts is that the presentation platform doesn't matter all that much at the level I'm looking at.

  • DotNetOpenAuth for previously authorized site

    I've had great luck with DotNetOpenAuth to do 3 legged authorization. Currently, I am connecting and pulling in some Google data. My question is that apparently, if you have already auth'd my web application to your Google account, when I call var accessTokenResponse = google.ProcessUserAuthorization(); It basically does nothing. How do I get the token for an account that has already auth'd my application? I see no callback of any kind. I'm chocking this up to my ignorance about OAuth in general.

    I'm trying to implement an OpenID provider with DotNetOpenAuth. I supply an OpenID url, and the consumer discovers my endpoint. I log into my provider, and the provider returns a Claimed Identifier and a Local Identifier to the consumer. But the consumer response has the following exception: The OpenID Provider issued an assertion for an Identifier whose discovery information did not match. Assertion endpoint info: ClaimedIdentifier: http://localhost/OpenIDUser.aspx/myuser ProviderLocalIdentifier: http://localhost/OpenIDUser.aspx/myuser ProviderEndpoint: http://localhost/OpenIDAuth.aspx OpenID version: 2.0 Service Type URIs: Discovered endpoint info: [] http://localhost/OpenIDAuth.aspx is my endpoint. http://localhost/OpenIDUser.aspx/myuser is my user identifier url, and I can browse to it successfully. It has a link to the endpoint in the header as follows: <link rel="openid.server" href="http://localhost/OpenIDAuth.aspx"></link> No matter what I try, the "Discovered endpoint info: []" part of the exception is always an empty array. Can anyone please help?

  • DotNetOpenAuth I need some help please

    I know this has been posted before, but never really answered, I'm using the DotNetOpenAuth to try and do GoogleID login, and every time I do details = OResponse.GetExtension<ClaimsResponse>(); I always, always, always get back null, I don't get whats the point of the GoogleID if I can't get back any information, I would think at the very least I would get an email address, so I could associate it other login information in my databse. I just don't understand could really use some help, Im probably just looking at openID in the wrong way. I'm using ASP.NET and looking to use openID/Facebook as my sole means of logging in users, I really don't want to mess with membership roles, or extra junk that ASP.NET likes to add.

I'm currently running version 2.5.49045 but plan to update soon. using <blacklistHostsRegex> <add name=".*" /> </blacklistHostsRegex> blocked ever site even ones in the whitelist.

    I am using OpenIdLogin (with OpenIdButton) control on my login page, I noticed that there are properties "RememberMe", "RememberMeText" and "RememberMeVisible". However I can't get it to work, is there any example? Say, after the user logged on to my site successufully via Google, the user then decided to close the browser. If the user launch a new browser again, the user should not have to type the login/password again, right? Thanks for help

  • ASP.Net MVC DotNetOpenAuth Sample Issue on publish

    I'm trying to use the MSDN Open ID project template for ASP.NET MVC C#. I've been able to configure a local copy to run well. But when I publish it to my hosting provider - it craps out. The error is "500 internal server error". Is there something I should know about publishing this template that I haven't noticed? Here are some more details (for diligence): Hosting provider is GoDaddy/SQL2005/IIS7. When I configure & publish the blank MVC template, it works. The local database publishes successfully, but I haven't been able to troubleshoot the connection in web.config yet. I expect there are connection string problems in the file. I tried disabling all of the references to log4net, as it seemed to be invoked several times on startup. But those changes did not seem to make a difference in either the local or published application performance. My IDE is Visual Studio 2010 Pro Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • DotNetOpenAuth getting return_To url as the provider

    I have a provider that I'm upgrading from version 2 to version 3. basically a user comes to one of our sites and we say "if you don't have an openID sign up with this one" They click that and are sent to our in house provider what signs them up for an account and has to verify their email address. In the link I send via Email I included the return to url . This way when they click the link to verify their email (sometimes up to a week later) they are sent to our page that knows to send them back to the returnTo to login. I could not find a good way to do this in version 2 so I used a hack.   • dotnetopenauth with asp.net mvc proving too frustrating to use.

    I've been trying excessively hard to implement a good open id solution into asp.net mvc - and everywhere I turn is absolute dead ends. DotNetOpenAuth is just too big and I have been thusfar unable to get even the most simplistic, basic, absolute cut and dry implementation of it to work. NerdDinner had a promising implementation, but it is impossible to track down all of the dependant files and scripts. The DotNetOpenAuth website has virtually no information that helps, either, unfortunately. Does ANYONE know of a simple approach to just implementing this that actually explains and details how it is working with some kind of selector? It is talked about so much, but everything I find for it is so difficult to work with that it is really putting my whole team off from even considering it. We want to implement it similar to how stack overflow already does - using a selector that'll popup a login page if it needs to. I realize there is a lot of code that needs to be done for this, but everything just hails and praises dotnetopenauth, and nothing really teaches it. Even the sample projects do not open or compile. It looks like a wonderful library - but it really just isn't clicking for me.

    Hi I know stackoverflow uses open authentication. I want to try and use this as well. I am using asp.net mvc 2.0 with C#. I found this http://www.dotnetopenauth.net/ and I am wondering if this is what was used for stackoverflow. Also any tutorials would be nice as well.     When I run in visual studio I am able to connect to openid provider, But if I host app in IIS ,I am not able to connect to openid provider.     I am currently playing with DotNetOpenAuth to make an ASP.NET (C#) website use OpenID instead of the normal login-password routine for user and session handling. Up till now, I have added the DotNetOpenAuth.dll into my project and tried a test login page with the following: <rp:OpenIdLogin ID="OpenIdLogin1" runat="server" /> When I run the page, I enter a valid myopenid url and the website redirects to the myopenid page, where I enter my password, and upon success, it returns back to my default.aspx, due to the following in my web.config: <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms defaultUrl="/Default.aspx" loginUrl="~/Login.aspx"/> </authentication> Now that the user is "logged in", how can handle my session? At the moment, I don't know how I can, for example, check if the session is still alive or how to terminate the session. My basic question is, how can I manage the session once the user is authenticated with OpenID ?

    I'm using DotNetOpenAuth with a MVC 4 application. All the sudden Google auth is failing (MS is working). I also looked at this page to use log4net.     I'm trying to add the Hyves API with DotNetOpenAuth. It requires me to add a method name and some other stuff when accessing RequestTokenEndpoint and AccessTokenEndpoint. (http://trac.hyves-api.nl/wiki/APIUserAuthorization) RequestTokenEndpoint is no problem with "PrepareRequestUserAuthorization(Uri, requestParameters, null)" However I can't find a way to do this with AccessTokenEndpoint. Is there an easy way or can I intercept "ProcessUserAuthorization()" in a way? I tried to manual build a request but no luck yet.
