    I've googled for 3 days so far, with no success, so I'll be straightforward: How do you get it to work? this is the output for lspci -v: 03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43224 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 01) Subsystem: Apple Inc. Can someone help me? This is driving me insane! EDIT: for lspci -nn | grep 0280: 03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM43224 802.11a/b/g/n [14e4:4353] (rev 01) I can see the networks available, but when I try to connect, it gets stuck in a loop: tries to connect, fails, tries again, fails again and so on... EDIT 2: After a long break from this problem, I've just run a few tests again and found out that, although my macbuntu still fails to connect to my home wi-fi network, it works just fine at my university... Does that help in anyway? My home network is managed by a dual-band (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) 802.11n cisco e4200 wi-fi router.

  • Network traffic monitoring for unexperienced users

    I'm a really unexperienced Ubuntu user and I'm having a hard time monitoring my network traffic. I just need to know what websites each one of the devices connected to my network are accessing. I've tried to use ntop, but I couldn't work around it. Is that possible? I mean, is it possible to know that kind of data only by specifing a local IP address? How can I do that? It's a security issue that I'm facing and I need to work that "easy" monitoring out. Thanks

  • Wi-fi interface fails to authenticate on secured networks

    the problem is that I can't connect to wireless networks that have security enabled. I can connect fine to the unsecured network of my university, but not to the secured one in the same building. Also, it fails to connect to my home wireless router, which uses wpa2 encryption. Any ideas? I have a Broadcom Corporation BCM43224 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 01), with pci id [14e4:4353], running Ubuntu 12.10 on a macbook pro 6,2. I'm using bcmwl-kernel-source package with kernel module wl to enable my wi-fi device.

    I have a WCF Web Service which is kept under an Application Pool on IIS. Lately I've been getting "Service Unavaiable" when I'm trying to make calls to this Web Service. The first thing I tried to do was restarting the Application Pool. I did it and after a couple of seconds, it crashed and stopped. Looking at the Event Viewer, I found these messages, which by the moment couldn't help me to find where the problem is. A process serving application pool 'X' reported a failure. The process id was '11616'. The data field contains the error number. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. After getting a couple of these, I got this one: Application pool 'X' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.   • Changing App.config at Runtime

    I'm writing a test winforms / C# / .NET 3.5 application for the system we're developing and we fell in the need to switch between .config files at runtime, but this is turning out to be a nightmare. Here's the scene: the Winforms application is aimed at testing a WebApp, divided into 5 subsystems. The test proccess works with messages being sent between the subsystems, and for this proccess to be sucessful each subsystem got to have its own .config file. For my Test Application I wrote 5 separate configuration files. I wish I was able to switch between these 5 files during runtime, but the problem is: I can programatically edit the application .config file inumerous times, but these changes will only take effect once. I've been searching a long time for a form to address this problem but I still wasn't sucessful. I know the problem definition may be a bit confusing but I would really appreciate it if someone helped me. Thanks in advance! --- UPDATE 01-06-10 --- There's something I didn't mention before. Originally, our system is a Web Application with WCF calls between each subsystem. For performance testing reasons (we're using ANTS 4), we had to create a local copy of the assemblies and reference them from the test project.     Our globalization mechanism stores error messages in a SQL 2005 DB. Some of the error messages are used as subjects on email messages sent to the development team. Recently, with no clear reason, we started receiving emails with strangely encoded subjects, such as: =?utf-8?B?Qm1mQm92ZXNwYS5Qb3NUcmFkaW5nRXNwZWNpZmljYWNhbyAtIFN1Y2Vzc28gbm8gcmVwcm 9jZXNzYW1lbnRvLiBEYXRhIFByZWfDo28gPSAzMS8wMy8yMDEwIDAwOjAwOjAwIC0gTsO6bWVyby BkbyBFdmVudG8gZGUgTmVnw7NjaW8gPSAxMDAyIC0gQ8OzZGlnbyBOYXR1cmV6YSBkYSBPcGVyY cOnw6NvID0gQyAtIFNlcn...     Hello all, Where I can find DeskUtil documentation/help? I am trying to build Delphi add-in and I have some troubles with saving/registering/loading the add-in docking form into the active IDE desktop. I am using the DeskUtil methods after reading some examples here and there, but, examples don’t go deep in how these methods work, and in the mechanism of the IDE loading/destroying. Is there any official documentation/help about the DeskUtil or the OpenTools Api?     Hey, We have two tables in a SQL Server 2005 database, A and B.There is a service which truncates table A every day. Recently, a foreign key constraint was added to table B, referencing table A. As a result, it isn't possible truncating table A anymore, even if table B is empty. Is there any workaround to get the same result as truncating table A? I've already tried the approach below but the identity wasn't reset. DBCC CHECKIDENT (TABLENAME, RESEED, 0) PS. before anyone points this as a duplicate, the different thing here is that I'm not allowed to drop constraints, nor creating any.

    I really like the new People pane in Outlook 2010. Not for the "Social" features, but for finding related emails and attachments. But.. I does not work. It is totally broken. On some people does not show any mail, and only some mails in others. I've tried re-indexing and recreating the profile, not to avail. Do you know some trick to make it work? Using 32bits outlook, without Exchange, only local.

    I'm trying to get Eclipse to compile and run a HelloWorld class but it can't even do that. I have installed Eclipse x86 SDK 4.2.0 together bit with the latest JRE and JDK both in 64 bit as well. I also have the PATH variables set to respond to command prompts. When I try to run the following code: class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World!" ) ; } } And it returns the following error: Exception occurred executing command line. Cannot run program "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" (in directory "C:\Users\Default\workspace\devs"): CreateProcess error=5, Access is denied. Can you help me fix this? Thanks!

    partition magic is reporting multiple 'bad file record signature' and 'lost clusters' errors on my 250GB samsung sata disk (connected via usb on a xp sp3). Unfortunately PM is unable to fix. PM shows the drive as being NTFS, detects used space ok and also drive name. But PM browser (right click on partition, browse...) won't show anything (as if disk was empty) Windows Explorer is not even picking the drive name and reports 'the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable' PTDD partition table doctor demo tells me the boot sector is fine, and I can see all disk content on its browser - but crucially cannot copy that content over to a new disk (PTDD browser is pretty arid to say the least) Also tried - photorec-6.11.3 - it actually started to extract files but wouldn't keep file names or any folder structure (maybe I missed sth on the configuration options) - find and mount - intellectual scan went well, the only partition on the disk was detected, then tried to mount into p: but got this error on windows explorer: 'p:\ is not accesible. The media is write protected'. Find and mount allows you to create an image from partition but I don't have a disk big enough at hand. Does anyone know if this will keep the extracted files/folders structure intact? I'm starting to think the disk is pretty screwed and my chances to recover this data are slim. Please someone enlighten me with that marvellous piece of software I am missing :-) Thanks in advance

  • Internet connection & IIS stopped on windows xp after VMware server 2 installation

    Hi, I'm running a local network. My IP ranges from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.15. All IP are static ones. And my router's IP is 192.168.1.1 and I provide it as default gateway and preferred DNS server on client machines. Everything worked fine on this scenario. I could use internet and reach services on other machines. BUT I have installed VMware server 2 on the windows XP to host windows 2003 Virtual Machine (VM). I set the following configuration: Windows XP's => 192.168.1.11. Windows 2003 => 192.168.1.12. (virtual machine) This approach worked just fine as it used to work with Microsoft Virtual PC. I can access mysql & IIS websites on the windows 2003 virtual machine. BUT two things doesn't work anymore on the Windows XP: internet connection - but I can see the MAC address on the wireless router IIS - Ping on 127.0.0.1 it's ok as I can hit localhost:8222 nor localhost Does anyone knows how to fix any of this? (at least the internet connection)

If a manager removes access to a supervised group, then all the subgroups will also lose access. Web based User Interface.     I have an old PC in the den without Video Card (I have to remove it after it start failing). I access it through Remote Desktop. I don't want to invest in a new video card since the PC is old. If I buy a USB monitor I can use it as a secondary monitor in the main pc, and plug to the old PC when need. The question is: Does the USB monitor work during booting before the OS was loaded?
