  • How can I distribute a bookmarklet in FBML?

    - by Eric
I have a JavaScript bookmarklet that I'd like fans of a certain page to take. Unfortunately, the only way I've found of distributing it is giving them the raw JavaScript source, which is then problematic to add as a bookmark. Ideally, I'd use Drag this to the bookmarks bar But FBML filters out the JavaScript href. Any advice?

    - by Andre
Im trying to understand how to learn reading the source of a facebook fan page. So far, I can only get the layout displayed while viewing the source. Here is an example: If you go here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/See-oho-nieps-YothG-RRofiLe/106340746065367#!/pages/Milton-Keynes-United-Kingdom/IF-MR-BEAN-WAS-IN-AVATAR-HE-WOULD-LOOK-LIKE-THIS/302690570115 That canvas page requires you to be a fan of the page. This is done with: content here My question is, why cant I find the FB:visible code in the source of that page? I would be grateful for any guidance!

  • Snatching the code of a Facebook fan page canvas?

    - by Andre
I am trying to snatch the code of this fan page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/See-oho-nieps-YothG-RRofiLe/106340746065367 I need the function that suggests the fan page to the users friends automatically (not for spamming purposes as the above fan page is used for). Now by looking at the source, I know that the code is under the pagelet_tab_content, but not all of it. I have copied that part and pasted it into my own fan page. The layout looks identical but the functions does not work. Obviously something is missing. For instance, I cant find the in the source which is strange, as I know for definate that it is being used. I have been working with this all day without any result. Maybe there is someone more intelligent and experienced that could help me out?

  • Need some help synch'ing outer loop counter with dialog.onconfirm()

    - by Chris Barnhill
    I am writing a game for Facebook. IN the following code, I have a problem. I have a for loop executing, and in that loop, I call a dialog and implement 'onconfirm' for the dialog. The problem is that I need to access th e loop counter inside of the onconfirm function. But because the onconfirm is called outside of the scope of the for loop, the counter value is no longer valid because it's been incremented. I need some way to pass the counter value to the dialog onconfirm as it was at the time the dialog was displayed, not after the loop has finished. Or maybe someone has a better solution. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. function unloadCargo() { //debugger; var actionPrompt = document.getElementById('action-prompt'); actionPrompt.setTextValue('Unloading cargo...'); var ajax = new Ajax(); ajax.responseType = Ajax.JSON; ajax.ondone = function(data) { debugger; if(data.unloadableCargo.length == 0) { loadCargo(); } else { //console.log('unloadable cargo='+dump(data.unloadableCargo)); var i = 0; var j = 0; var ucCount = data.unloadableCargo.length; for(i = 0; i < ucCount; i++) { cargoDialog = new Dialog(); cargoDialog.showChoice('Unload Cargo', 'Unload ' + data.unloadableCargo[i].goods_name + ' at ' + data.unloadableCargo[i].city_name + ' for ' + data.unloadableCargo[i].payoff + 'M euros?'); cargoDialog.onconfirm = function() { //console.log('unloadable cargo onconfirm='+dump(data.unloadableCargo)); var ajax = new Ajax(); var param = {"city_id": data.unloadableCargo[i].city_id, "goods_id": data.unloadableCargo[i].goods_id, "payoff": data.unloadableCargo[i].payoff}; ajax.ondone = function(demandData) { var demands = document.getElementById('demands'); var innerXhtml = '<span>'; for(var j = 0; j < demandData.demands.length; j++) { innerXhtml = innerXhtml + ' <div class="demand-item"><div class="demand-city">' + demandData.demands[j].city + '</div><div class="demand-pay">' + demandData.demands[j].cost + '</div><div class="demand-goods">' + demandData.demands[j].goods + '</div></div>'; } innerXtml = innerXhtml + ' </span>'; demands.setInnerXHTML(innerXhtml); // update balance loadCargo(); } ajax.post(baseURL + "/turn/do-unload-cargo", param); } cargoDialog.oncancel = function() { loadCargo(); } } //loadCargo(); } } ajax.post(baseURL + '/turn/unload-cargo'); }

  • Facebook: Requires a valid user is specified (either via the session or via the API parameter for specifying the user.

    - by Stoic
Hey Everyone, I am receiving this error: Requires a valid user is specified (either via the session or via the API parameter for specifying the user. when I am trying to utilize Facebook's FB.api with JS SDK for method: users.hasAppPermission I am constantly receiving this error, for any uid I pass on. Here is my code: $(document).ready(function() { var perms_requested = <?php echo PERMS;?>; var user_id = <?=$user_id;?>; $('#perms_check').html(loading); ask_for_perms(perms_requested, function(data) { $('#perms_check').html(data); }); function ask_for_perms(perms_requested,cb) { var request = []; $.each(perms_requested,function(i,permission) { FB.api({ method: 'users.hasAppPermission', ext_perm: permission, uid: user_id }, function(response) { if (response == 0) request.push(permission); if (i == perms_requested.length - 1) cb(request.join(', ')); }); }); } }); Also, I am utilizing nearly the same code in some other part of the same application, and I am getting fine results with that.

  • How to secure an AJAX call from a facebook canvas application.

    - by user259349
Reading this Ajax example, http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/FBJS/Examples/Ajax#Working_Example I found the following line. I'm not sure what to understand out of it, how do you "check the sig values per Platform spec"? "Note: For brevity's sake we are trusting $_POST['fb_sig_user'] without checking the full signature. This is unsafe as anyone could easily forge a user's action. Always be sure to either use the Facebook object which is supplied with the client libraries, or check the sig values per Platform spec"

  • How to Communicate between minifb and a GAE-Hosted Silverlight Client

    - by Nick Gotch
I have a minifb app (technically gminifb) running on Google App Engine with a bunch of handlers for processing all kinds of requests from a Silverlight client. What's the recommended approach for adding the FB GET variables, such as fb_sig, to the HTTP requests? I believe I can technically pass the session key and uid directly and get things to work but it seems there's probably a much better way to do this. I was reading about FBJS AJAX and I'm trying to figure out how I can use it to proxy the HTTP requests from the Silverlight client through it. Is this a good way to do it? And if so, how would I go about doing so? Any other recommendations would be appreciated too. Thanks,

  • How to make a div float in and scroll with the center of page?

    - by Murvinlai
So, I work on a Facebook FBML App. What I want is simple. Just have a div shows in the center of the page, and scroll with the page. i.e. always in the center. It would be easy with normal JS. I just use the pageYOffset However, in Facebook using FBJS, I am not sure what I should use. It doesn't have getPageYOffset().. and I tried getScrollTop().. it doesn't seem the right thing. So, anyone knows how?
