    I'm using three Ubuntu systems in an irregular pattern, and since I use Chrome/Chromium anyway and have a Google account, I decided to make my life a bit easier and sync them. Now I am having a problem: When I want to remove bookmarks from my lists, they not only come back when I switch the machine, they double. By now, I have up to ten identical bookmarks in the list and I spend a lot of time scrolling over them. Is there any way to remove them permanently? EDIT: Apps, too.

    I'm trying Google's PageSpeed online service Ironically, it's primarily highlighting Google's own services as something that needs improvement on my site 1) jQuery from Google: blocking. So I moved all javascript from <head> to the end of the document before </body>. That helped 2) Linking to external Google Font CSS (in <head>): blocking. But the font is critical to the design of the page and should load before much else 3) Google Analytics: Caching is not good. (Google has set it internally to 2 hours expiration). Don't know how to change this (this is also placed at the bottom of page) The Google Font is highlighted as a big priority to change. How can I fix this? Where/how should I call the the font?

    I was wondering if anyone knows if Google uses the data it receives from Google Analytics to help determine a websites SERP (Search Engine Rank Position). For example, if my website is getting 1000 users visiting my website from Canada and only 100 users visiting my website from the USA, does that mean my website will be ranked higher on Google.ca and lower on Google.com? And, if a website is using Google Analytics will it be ranked higher for the organic search engine keywords?

As I, currently, understand, Google Chrome puts bookmarks seperatly from Google Bookmarks, which is accessible in Firefox by using Google Toolbar for Firefox. Right?     I have changed in the searched preferences to google.com but still when I do search from the address bar (instant or non-instant) it will go to google.co.kr. Even though I change "Google.com in English", still same... The only way is to open google.com website first, then do search in it. So the question - is there any way to force Chrome to search in Google.com instead of google.co.kr? I understand there is some geolocational checking/redirecting, but there must be some way to force...

    My site has many modules which are indexed by google. Recently there has been a database problem so the site was not appearing well like many links returned 404 i think. Now i have make it working and all the content what previously google indexed are as it were. How do we update google that i have corrected and the pages which sent 404 are not 200? That is now i wanted to tell google that the urls which sent 404 are now working fine so that google will update it soon before it removes from its database.

    I have a site with address www.exam.com and I have put Google analytics javascript scripts in it. I have made an app for my site, I want that everytime a user uses app, he visit the site in the application with built in browser which is inside the application ( I am using C# for application and .NET web browser ). User will address www.example.com/appvisit in the app and I just have put google analytics scripts in that page and nothing else. And I want to disallow this address /appvisit in my robots.txt file . I want to know that Is there any problem with doing this? will google crawl in the /appvisit directory ? Does google hate this work? and will google think this traffic is true and normal? thanks

    Hi folks, it’s been quite calm at Developer IT’s this summer since we were all involved in other projects, but we are slowly comming back. In this post, we will present a simple way of tracking files download with Google Analytics with the help of jQuery. We work for a client that offers a lot of pdf files to download on their web site and wanted to know which one are the most popular. They use Google Analytics for a long time now and we did not want to have a second interface in order to present those stats to our client. So usign IIS logs was not a idea to consider. Since Google already offers us a splendid web interface and a powerful API, we deceided to hook up simple javascript code into the jQuery click event to notify Analytics that a pdf has been requested. Somewhere I read that I can manage the ads that are being shown in my website (480 x 60) and filter out the ads on a CPM/CPC basis. NOTE: I don't have any ads to be displayed on other's websites.   • How do I get rid of phantom bookmarks in Google Chrome on Mac OS X 10.6?

    I'm running Chrome 5.0.375.38 on OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and although I'm positive that when I installed it I told it NOT to import my Firefox bookmarks, it nevertheless still accessed my OLD Firefox bookmarks (including some that I deleted) when I used the location bar. HOWEVER, when I opened the bookmarks manager, it said that I have no bookmarks whatsoever. Seeking to solve this problem, I installed XMarks on both FF and Chrome, and forced Chrome to download the server bookmarks. Now Chrome lists all my current FF bookmarks, but STILL sees the old, phantom bookmarks from when I first installed Chrome in the location bar, even though when I search for these same bookmarks in the bookmarks manager they don't show up. Aargh! Any ideas? Even if there's some way to force-kill-wipeout-clean-erase ALL my Chrome bookmarks that's fine as long as it kills the phantom ones b/c I can still overwrite with XMarks. Thanks!

I find this extremely useful as it allows me to have roaming bookmarks rather than having to maintain bookmarks on individual machines and also restore them when rebuilding a machine. Is there currently any way to use Google Bookmarks in Chrome? This is the one thing I'm waiting for that is preventing me from switching from Firefox to Chrome.

    I'm using a tool to generate the sitemap.xml file for me, it started to crawl my website, got the pages and all images, but when exporting it, I review the xml(to make sure nothing is wrong) and I noticed that the images in my website are wrapped in url tags(I think it should be in image tags). See this: <url><loc>http://mywebsite.com/images/12.jpg</loc><lastmod>2012-05-23T13:39:02+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>weekly</changefreq><priority>0.50</priority></url> Shouldn't it be wrapped in image tag?(just like videos wrapped in video tag) Thanks.

    I have been looking around to try and find some confirmation and clarity on the limit of pageviews that Google allow per month for a Google Analytics account. I have read that the limit of hits per month is 10,000,000, and the limit of pageviews is 5,000,000. Putting 2 and 2 together I am thinking this is to allow the other 5,000,000 for events and social clicks and the like? Google's documentation states 5m, but the hits/pageviews is a bit of a grey area as i've read suggestions that the limit can be considered as 10m
