  Hi I want to add some options to my magento, lets say i print on clothing, a customer buys some t-shirts, shirts and jackets from me, it totals to £60+ VAT on the checkout area where i signup and not before I need to add an option where I can add a text box and upload option, can i do this? I ideally then want to add some pricing options if the user has chosen to add some branding to a product or multiple products e.g. if the branding was on the top right of the shirt it will cost £5.00, if on the back it costs £7.00 etc all if possible to be done via the admincp. I also want an option so when they upload their logo for the first time they are charged a one off charge, like a setup fee but If the customer has allready sent in there logo then no charge applies. thanks Graham

  You have an N x N chessboard and you wish to place N kings on it. Each row and column should contain exactly one king, and no two kings should attack each other (two kings attack each other if they are present in squares which share a corner). The kings in the first K rows of the board have already been placed. You are given the positions of these kings as an array pos[ ]. pos[i] is the column in which the king in the ith row has already been placed. All indices are 0-indexed. In how many ways can the remaining kings be placed? Input: The first line contains the number of test cases T. T test cases follow. Each test case contains N and K on the first line, followed by a line having K integers, denoting the array pos[ ] as described above. Output: Output the number of ways to place kings in the remaining rows satisfying the above conditions. Output all numbers modulo 1000000007. Constraints: 1 <= T <= 20 1 <= N <= 16 0 <= K <= N 0 <= pos_i < N The kings specified in the input will be in different columns and not attack each other. Sample Input: 5 4 1 2 3 0 5 2 1 3 4 4 1 3 0 2 6 1 2 Sample Output: 1 0 2 1 18 Explanation: For the first example, there is a king already placed at row 0 and column 2. The king in the second row must belong to column 0. The king in the third row must belong to column 3, and the last king must beong to column 1. Thus there is only 1 valid placement.   Hi guys, I just finished participating in the 2009 ACM ICPC Programming Conest in the Latinamerican Finals. These questions were for Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, etc. My team and I could only finish two questions out of the eleven (not bad I think for the first try). Here's one we could finish. I'm curious to seeing any variations to the code. The question in full: ps: These questions can also be found on the official ICPC website available to everyone. In the land of ACM ruled a greeat king who became obsessed with order. The kingdom had a rectangular form, and the king divided the territory into a grid of small rectangular counties. Before dying the king distributed the counties among his sons. The king was unaware of the rivalries between his sons: The first heir hated the second but not the rest, the second hated the third but not the rest, and so on...Finally, the last heir hated the first heir, but not the other heirs. As soon as the king died, the strange rivaly among the King's sons sparked off a generalized war in the kingdom. Attacks only took place between pairs of adjacent counties (adjacent counties are those that share one vertical or horizontal border). A county X attacked an adjacent county Y whenever X hated Y. The attacked county was always conquered. All attacks where carried out simultanously and a set of simultanous attacks was called a battle. After a certain number of battles, the surviving sons made a truce and never battled again. For example if the king had three sons, named 0, 1 and 2, the figure below shows what happens in the first battle for a given initial land distribution: INPUT The input contains several test cases. The first line of a test case contains four integers, N, R, C and K. N - The number of heirs (2 <= N <= 100) R and C - The dimensions of the land. (2 <= R,C <= 100) K - Number of battles that are going to take place. (1 <= K <= 100) Heirs are identified by sequential integers starting from zero. Each of the next R lines contains C integers HeirIdentificationNumber (saying what heir owns this land) separated by single spaces. This is to layout the initial land. The last test case is a line separated by four zeroes separated by single spaces.   I just read some artical about publishing software and I am personally developing some random metero application at the moment. The artical were suggesting the software should have a publisher website. But what I have to put down in the publisher website to keep my copyright? Is it simply really just "Designed/Developed @ 2012 By King Chan" at the bottom of the site and software and is enough? Or do I have to even write a long paragraph of license/agreement said the user who download/use the software cannot copy the icon/functionality etc? (The Apple and Samsung things get me worry about CopyRight now....)

• In MMO game, how to handle user characters, who are offline?

  In my medieval MMO game, players have their own character, that represents themselves inside game. Like a King. Players could have cities and armies, but King acts as main driving force. Then it comes to player, going offline/vacation/disconnect. How to deal with "offline King", to keep some sort of reality in game, without ruining everything for player. I have never liked unrealistic stuff in games, like appearing/dissapearing from thin air, like in WoW or other MMO RPG's, when it comes to connect/disconnect, like in Matrix movie, when you are disconnected, your "avatar" inside the system just vaninshes. Ok, if player char stays where it was left, other players who are online could kick his ass like offline player char was frozen? I see only one solution - give player char, while offline, some sort of AI, that controls char. Is there any other solutions? May be, some sort of legend/story, could make users only as inner-voice, leaving King just passively controlled by user, or other stuff... Please, help! I hope you understand my question.

• How to PERMANENTLY disable touchpad tap-to-click on Dell Inspiron/Windows 7

  Hi all - my first time here, so I hope you can help. I've seen a lot of stuff on various forums (including here) about disabling the annoying "tap" function on a laptop touchpad. I learned the hard way not to de-install the driver (as the software suggests), since you then loose the Synaptic tab in the mouse control settings, and with it all means to modify the touchpad settings ... indicentally, if this happens to you, reboot in safe mode and do a restore, and the synaptic tab comes back. Not ideal, I know, but it works. Anyway, I have the most up-to-date drivers, and I can go to the Synaptics tab and can disable the tap-to-click function no problem. However, next time the machine is booted, tap-to-click is back on. It can alsways be disabled, but it's pain having to reset it every time the mchine is powered up. Is there a way to permanently disable it, once and for all? Thanks in advance, Graham

• How can I set a Windows user environment variable that takes effect for the current session?

  I am trying to set a Windows user environment variable and then launch an application via either batch file or a script. However, the environment variable is not set to the appropriate value until after the user logs off and logs back on. (I think a more accurate description would be that the new value is not available to the app until after the next logon.) Is there any way to set a variable in the user's environment so that it's immediately available? I'm doing this because this program's functionality can be controlled by environment variables, and users will need different functionality at different times. Because of license constraints I need to set this dynamically, if possible. Thanks, Graham

• Loop through several servers, find specific dlls , get the dll version, internal filename and path?

  I am a newby to Powershell, and using PS v2. I can see the massive potential it has, but I just can't get the following code to work fully. I am trying to end up with a csv file that contains the wild carded required dlls in the GAC_MSIL or sub-directory, get the dll version, internal filename and path, and the server IP address. The code is below, and it is in single line format because it appears easier to remote onto one of the servers in the server farm and run the single line from that console, ue to security log-ins etc. The code has produced a set of results, but only for the last server, it probably does the first server, then overwrites it but I am not sure about that. I have done a lot of reading about using arrays, and custom objects, and had a go at doing that, but my scripting skills in PS are not yet up to it. • TransactionScope and Connection Pooling

  Hi, I'm trying to get a handle on whether we have a problem in our application with database connections using incorrect IsolationLevels. Our application is a .Net 3.5 database app using SQL Server 2005. I've discovered that the IsolationLevel of connections are not reset when they are returned to the connection pool (see here) and was also really surprised to read in this blog post that each new TransactionScope created gets its own connection pool assigned to it. Our database updates (via our business objects) take place within a TransactionScope (a new one is created for each business object graph update). But our fetches do not use an explicit transaction. So what I'm wondering is could we ever get into the situation where our fetch operations (which should be using the default IsolationLevel - Read Committed) would reuse a connection from the pool which has been used for an update, and inherit the update IsolationLevel (RepeatableRead)? Or would our updates be guaranteed to use a different connection pool seeing as they are wrapped in a TransactionScope? Thanks in advance, Graham

  Hi Guys, I'm just starting out and I'm looking for an easy way to sum a simple array. I've read into apple developer site on key value coding and I don't understand how to apply that to my array or if that's the appropriate way to sum this. My stumbling block with the key value coding is the .keypathToProperty - I can sort of understand that you need a further reference in a 2D array but they don't show the array code, only the keypath to the title of the row so I can't figure it out yet. Should have all editor features (can be done using open office api, google docs api, Microsoft office web apps api) 2. Should be shared between multiple users and can be edited by multiple users and other sync features (can be done using google docs api, Microsoft office web apps) 3. Can save the document created and edited on my own/ custom server addr. (Which api can support this??? I know open office can support this) Guys can you please suggest me one api which can be used to do all the above. • Associating File Types with AutoVue Desktop Deployment

  Windows users take for granted that when they double click on a document or design, that it will open up in its application automatically. One of the questions I'm commonly asked is "How can I get the same behavior with AutoVue Desktop Deployment?". It's pretty easy, but there are a few tricks to doing it. Step 1: Download new jvue_direct.bat and icon The first thing you'll need to do is download a slightly modified version of jvue_direct.bat. You can find it here (Document 1075784.1) on Oracle's Support Portal. You also want to download the AV.ico file. This is the icon that will be used for all file types associated with AutoVue. Place both of these files in your <AutoVueInstallDirectory>\bin directory. Step 2: Associate File Types With AutoVue There are two ways to do this. You can do this through the Windows user interface, or you can set up a batch file to do this. Associating File Types Through Windows The way most people associate file types to an application is using the Windows user interface. You've probably tried to open a file type that Windows doesn't recognize and seen this window pop up: Although you can use this dialog to associate that file type with AutoVue, I don't recommend it. I much prefer using a batch file to associate file types with AutoVue. Associating File Types Using A Batch File There are a few good reasons to associate file types using a batch file instead of using the pop-up dialog method: If you have several file types to associate with AutoVue, it's much easier to use a batch file to do them all at once. Doing it through the Windows user interface requires having files of each type available. Using a batch file doesn't require having the files you're associating. Associating file types through the dialog may work well for one person, but what if you're an administrator doing an enterprise wide deployment of AutoVue Desktop Deployment for several hundred users? You don't want to do this manually for each user. You can have one simple batch file that's run on each user's PC to set up all the file types. You can easily associate an icon with the file types you're opening with AutoVue. To use the batch file method follow these steps: Create a file called filetype.bat using a text editor and copy and paste the following into it: @assoc .dwg=AVFile @assoc .jpg=AVFile @assoc .doc=AVFile @ftype AVFile="%~dp0jvue_direct.bat" "%%1" @reg add HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AVFile\DefaultIcon /v "" /f /d "%~dp0AV.ico" Change the lines starting with @assoc. Each of these lines associates a file extension with AutoVue. You can have as many @assoc lines as you want. Save this file in your <AutoVueInstallDirectory>\bin directory. Double click this file, or run it from a command prompt. Restart Windows to get the icons to show up. How Does This Work? The first three lines are creating a file type called AVFile. We are associating the extensions .dwg, .jpg, and .doc with this file type. You will want to change these lines when creating your own batch file. For example, to associate Microstation designs, which have extension .dgn, you should delete the @assoc lines above and add the line: @assoc .dgn=AVfile The line beginning with @ftype tells Windows that all AVFile type files should be opened using AutoVue Desktop Deployment. The final line associates the AutoVue icon with these file types. You may need to restart Windows to see the new icons. Warning: One Size Doesn't Fit All When deciding which file types should be associated with AutoVue, remember that there are different types of users using it. Your engineers may be pretty surprised to find that after installing AutoVue, double clicking their .dwg file opens up AutoVue instead of AutoCAD. If you have more than one type of AutoVue user, make sure you've considered what file types each user group will and will not want to be associated with AutoVue. If necessary, create a separate file association batch file for each user type. So that's it. In two simple steps you can double click your favorite designs and have them open automatically in AutoVue Desktop Deployment. I'd love to hear how are you using AutoVue Desktop Deployment. • How do I convert my matrix from OpenGL to Marmalade?

  I am using a third party rendering API, Marmalade, on top of OpenGL code and I cannot get my matrices correct. One of the API's authors states this: We're right handed by default, and we treat y as up by convention. Since IwGx's coordinate system has (0,0) as the top left, you typically need a 180 degree rotation around Z in your view matrix. I think the viewer does this by default. In my OpenGL app I have access to the view and projection matrices separately. How can I convert them to fit the criteria used by my third party rendering API? I don't understand what they mean to rotate 180 degrees around Z, is that in the view matrix itself or something in the camera before making the view matrix. Any code would be helpful, thanks.

  I have been updating a Wordpress blog lately and found the turnaround time for content creation and editing is much worse than for Stack Overflow posts. Part of this has to do with being original compositions rather than riffing off a question. But part of it is the software. I am looking for CMS/blog software that has an overall editing experience similar to Stack Overflow. The most important features I'm looking for: Inline editing (mostly) Real-time preview on the same page are all important features for speeding up data entry. Markdown support (with inline and block-level code support) Syntax hilighting The features I must maintain from my self-hosted Wordpress: Somewhat popular/supported software, with extensibility support Self hostable Will work with MySql Wordpress has plugins for all these, but they don't necessarily work together. For example I've found a few markdown-on-save plugins, but I doubt those have a chance of ever supporting inline editing or real time previews. Also the most popular syntax hilighting plugins don't support inline code blocks, and I doubt previews would work with other syntax hilighting methods. • Are You In The Know About Knowledge?

  "Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information on it." To me, this simple and elegant quote from the great English author Samuel Johnson is a reflection of Oracle's knowledge base strategy. The knowledge base in the My Oracle Support portal (https://support.oracle.com) hosts nearly a half million documents, including how-to instructions, problem-solution descriptions, code samples, FAQs, critical alerts, technical whitepapers, and so on. AutoVue's footprint in the Oracle knowledge base - although relatively small at just around 400 documents - is a steadily-expanding assortment of valuable info. This information is designed to complement what you have already learned from the AutoVue documentation, or in some cases, to examine topics not yet covered in the documentation. Similar to the documentation, the knowledge base is one of the highest-value self-service avenues, since it delivers answers in real-time and is driven by the topics most relevant to customers. There are many different ways to leverage the AutoVue knowledge content, or what Oracle often refers to as "KM Notes": 1. Knowledge Browser: To browse the knowledge hierarchy, click on the 'Knowledge' tab at the top of the My Oracle Support webpage. In the list of product areas at the left, click on 'More Applications', then on 'Oracle AutoVue'. From here, you can either view the full set of KM Notes under the AutoVue product family (AutoVue, VueLink, Web Services, Document Print Services, etc) by clicking on 'All of Oracle AutoVue', or you can drill down further by clicking on 'Enterprise Visualization'. 2. Search: To execute simple keyword searches, use the Search bar at the top-right of the My Oracle Support webpage: 3. Advanced Search: Beside the same Search bar at the top-right of the My Oracle Support webpage, click on the 'Advanced' link in order to increase your control over the search string as well as the product to search against: 4. In your Dashboard: By clicking on the 'Customize' link at the top-right of the Dashboard page in My Oracle Support, you can drag & drop multiple "Knowledge Articles" widgets onto your dashboard. Then, click on the pencil icon at the top-right of the widget to customize it by product. This allows you to keep an active monitor on the most recently updated KM Notes across any product: 5. During SR Creation: As you submit a new Service Request, after entering the product information, SR title, and SR description, you will be presented with a frame at the left containing KM Note suggestions based on the information entered: Let Oracle know what you think! If you like or dislike an article, or would like to comment on how easy/difficult it was to find the article, click on the "Rate this document" link at the bottom of the KM Note. • Node.js MMO - process and/or map division

  I am in the phase of designing a mmo browser based game (certainly not massive, but all connected players are in the same universe), and I am struggling with finding a good solution to the problem of distributing players across processes. I'm using node.js with socket.io. I have read this helpful article, but I would like some advice since I am also concerned with different processes. Solution 1: Tie a process to a map location (like a map-cell), connect players to the process corresponding to their location. When a player performs an action, transmit it to all other players in this process. When a player moves away, he will eventually have to connect to another process (automatically). Pros: Easier to implement Cons: Must divide map into zones Player reconnection when moving into a different zone is probably annoying If one zone/process is always busy (has players in it), it doesn't really load-balance, unless I split the zone which may not be always viable There shouldn't be any visible borders Solution 1b: Same as 1, but connect processes of bordering cells, so that players on the other side of the border are visible and such. Maybe even let them interact. Solution 2: Spawn processes on demand, unrelated to a location. Have one special process to keep track of all connected player handles, their location, and the process they're connected to. Then when a player performs an action, the process finds all other nearby players (from the special player-process-location tracking node), and instructs their matching processes to relay the action. Pros: Easy load balancing: spawn more processes Avoids player reconnecting / borders between zones Cons: Harder to implement and test Additional steps of finding players, and relaying event/action to another process If the player-location-process tracking process fails, all other fail too I would like to hear if I'm missing something, or completely off track.

• Unity 3D (with Nvidia driver) becomes very slow and laggy

  How can I prevent my Unity 3D desktop from becoming slow after a while, given that I have an Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 graphics in TwinView mode? The desktop starts out fast on login, but becomes slow / lagging / hesitant / high latency after a while, symptoms being spikes in CPU usage by /usr/bin/X whenever I cause any graphical activity with the mouse or keyboard (e.g. typing, changing tabs, dragging windows). The desktop remains slow even with all windows (except htop in Terminal) and extraneous processes killed. Detail: Changing tabs in Terminal takes about a second, and X spikes to 76% CPU. As I type into Firefox, X spikes to 95% CPU. Dragging Termiinal window, X goes to 70% CPU. Basically, every graphical action sends CPU usage of X through the roof. Device: Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 Driver package: binary driver nvidia-current-updates (280.13-0ubuntu5) Dual Monitors: Pair of DELL UltraSharp 1908FP in TwinView (X screen 2560x1024) OS: Fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 amd64 Desktop with all updates. Hardware: Dell Precision T5400 Workstation Pastebin of Xorg.0.log Pastebin of xorg.conf Pastebin of nvidia-xconfig -t output (easier to read than xorg.conf) Output of /usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p: To obtain the following htop screenshow I typed "asdf" several times in in this text box, alt-tabbed to Terminal and took a screenshot of the high X CPU usage. This also happens when firefox is not running: Quadro NVS 290 has "No" thermal sensor according to sensors-detect: Next adapter: NVIDIA i2c adapter 0 at 2:00.0 (i2c-0) Do you want to scan it? (YES/no/selectively): Client found at address 0x50 Probing for `Analog Devices ADM1033'... No Probing for `Analog Devices ADM1034'... No P robing for `SPD EEPROM'... No Probing for `EDID EEPROM'... Yes (confidence 8, not a hardware monitoring chip) I tried the nouveau driver by disabling the nvidia-current-updates under Additional Drivers, but Ubuntu and xrandr -q fail to detect the second monitor. This may be issue 737349. Funniest thing is that Nouveau wiki says that XRandR 1.2 dual-monitor is supported so it should work with a second monitor.
