  • Asp.net MVC, after using jeditable (Edit in place)

    Ok, i can use jeditable to edit-in-place some content on a page and the content will be saved to a database. But whats the best way to re get that text-content from db to show into a place holder? p id="paraNo34" class="editable" --What i will write here so that it will get content from a db's table: [Content], where id=="paraNo34". /p The problem is if i will use some hard coded text like p id="paraNo34" class="editable" --Some text here /p I will able to edit-in-place using jeditable but when i will refresh page it will show the same "Some text here" as its not getting data from db.

  • In Jeditable, how do I make it so that when I click the div to edit, the text box content has initial value that is processed?

    When the user clicks on the div, jeditable will make a text box. However, I want the initial text to be done with function stripTags(), instead of what's on the page. The reason is that I'm using some URL techniques to turn plain text links into URLs. When the user clicks on the div, jeditable is turning them into <a href=>..</a> Is there a "beforeSubmit" option in jeditable? http://www.appelsiini.net/projects/jeditable

  • Can jQuery UI's Sortable handle complex selectors for the items option?

    I have list items in an unordered list that when double clicked, can be edited in place via a wysiwyg editor. $('ul.mtm_section').sortable({ disabled: true, distance: 10, items: '> li:not(:has(form))' }); My goal is to prevent the list item from being sorted while it is being edited - aka once a form element has been swapped in place of the contents. Unfortunately my selector for items is not working. Is sortable able to handle complex selectors like these? If not, are there other clever means to disable some items from being sortable, perhaps a callback function? I would prefer to rely on this sortable option, as the wysiwyg plugin is deeply nested with jEditable and as far as I know does not open up any events for me to hook into. Using jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.1

  • jQuery.post() issues with passing data to jQuery UI

    Hello, I am trying to get jQuery.post() to run my php script and then open a jQuery UI dialog with the data that php script returns. Its supposed to come back as a form with a table and a textarea in it. It works great with alert(data); and i get a pop-up with all my data. The problem starts if i turn off alert(). Now it opens 2 dialogs. One containing only the table, without textarea, and the second one absolutely empty. What am i doing wrong here? How come all my data shows up in the alert(), but not in dialog? What do i need to do to fix it? Oh, and do i need to also include $.ajax() before the $.post()?   • jEditable - how do I get the edited textfield variable?

    I have a table that I use jEditable with. Saving to the server works, but the callback for refreshing my table element (that I just edited and saved to the server) does not work. /* Apply the jEditable handlers to the table */ $('#example tbody td').editable( '<%= url_for :controller => 'impact_matrix', :action => 'post', :scenario => params[:id] %>', { "callback": function( sValue, y ) { ^ goes missing var aPos = oTable.fnGetPosition( this ); oTable.fnUpdate( sValue, aPos[0], aPos[1] ); }, "submitdata": function ( value, settings ) { temp = value return { "row_id": this.parentNode.getAttribute('id') }; }, sValue (that I point to in the code) - seems to be blank. I do get values for aPos[0] and aPos[1], but not sValue. Could someone please explain to me 'what triggers the callback function?' Or, if I could just see where to get the 'newly edited text' and then just run fnUpdate() on that, I'd be fine. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Inline-editing: onBlur prevents onClick from being triggered (jQuery)

    Hello StackOverflow community! I'm currently working on my own jQuery plugin for inline-editing as those that already exist don't fit my needs. Anyway, I'd like to give the user the following (boolean) options concerning the way editing is supposed to work: submit_button reset_on_blur Let's say the user would like to have a submit button (submit_button = true) and wants the inline input element to be removed as soon as it loses focus (reset_on_blur = true). This leads to an onClick handler being registered for the button and an onBlur handler being registered for the input element. Every time the user clicks the button, however, the onBlur handler is also triggered and results in the edit mode being left, i.e. before the onClick event occurs. This makes submitting impossible. FYI, the HTML in edit mode looks like this: <td><input type="text" class="ie-input" value="Current value" /><div class="ie-content-backup" style="display: none;">Backup Value</div><input type="submit" class="ie-button-submit" value="Save" /></td> So, is there any way I could check in the onBlur handler if the focus was lost while activating the submit button, so that edit mode isn't left before the submit button's onClick event is triggered? I've also tried to register a $('body').click() handler to simulate blur and to be able to trace back which element has been clicked, but that didn't work either and resulted in rather strange bugs: $('html').click(function(e) { // body doesn't span over full page height, use html instead // Don't reset if the submit button, the input element itself or the element to be edited inline was clicked. if(!$(e.target).hasClass('ie-button-submit') && !$(e.target).hasClass('ie-input') && $(e.target).get(0) != element.get(0)) { cancel(element); } }); jEditable uses the following piece of code. Short: Is there a possibility to change the name of a processed file (eXist-DB) after serialization?
