  • Run a command from Windows 7 Start Menu

    I'm trying to run commands such as "cmd.exe", "appwiz.cpl" etc by typing it in the Search box of the Start Menu in Windows 7 (x86). I'm able to do this just fine in Vista. After typing in "cmd" I notice that I see a link to "Programs" in the start menu so it seems that "cmd" is being recognized but when I click on "Programs" link which is shown,I get the following message. "These files can't be opened. Your internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened" P.S. - I'm not looking for enabling the "Run" command to show in the Start Menu Any help would be much appreciated

  • AMD Processors and the Windows Phone 8 Emulator

    I would madly appreciate it if anyone in this community would help me with my question. The background is that I want to develop Windows Phone 8 applications but both of my current computer processors do not have Hardware Virtualization & Second Level Address Translation that are needed to run the Emulator. I have my eyes on an AMD computer g7-2243us (I like it because it has 1600x900 screen res). I looked up this Link that shows that this computer's AMD processor (Next Gen AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M Accelerated 1.9GHz up to 2.8GHz 4MB L2 Cache Processor) supports AMD-V Hardware Virtualization. So, will this computer be able to run the emulator? Thank you so much for your answers. I'm pretty sure it will run the emulator, but I just want to make sure before spending $400.   • My WD passport detected but not shown on my computer

    1TB WD harddisk is detected in laptop but drives not visible on my computer. Under disk managment drives shown without letters. Right clicking on these drives give 2 options: Delete volume Help. The same harddisk was running well on the same laptop a day before. It is also showing full size of hard drives, Healthy (Primary Partition) etc. (this happened after harddisk usage by guest). Harddisk is new only (about 5 month usage) Please suggest: Is there hardware related problem inside harddisk, if so is it repairable? Is there any option to recover data?

    We have a java application running on linux (ubuntu server). We have been facing high recv-q problem since quite some time. Application gets hang and does not read data from socket every few hours. In thread dump, we have found below stack trace. Kindly help. We are using 16 core machine and load on the system is around 30-40 at the time of issue. We use command ss dst <ip> to find out recv-q. Recently we have been facing issues with recv-q size getting hung, were in receive buffer gets stuck at some point of time. But recvQ size is not decreasing and as a result we are losing a lot of hits from the other side, our application is not accepting any data.

  • Recycle remote IIS app pool

    I would like to use DirectoryServices to list and recycle App Pools hosted on any machine in my Workgroup. My approach is similar to some of the answers posted to this question,but in my case I'd like to do this for a remote machine running IIS 6. I'm prototyping this as a console app but will eventually be providing a web interface to allow recycling a selected app pool for a specified machine. Where can I specify the credentials to use for making Directory Services call to a remote machine. I hope I'm phrasing this correctly.

    I am using Selenium RC with IE 6 and XPath locators are terribly slow. So I am trying to see if javascript-xpath actually speeds up things. But could not find enough/clear documentation on how to use native x- path libraries. On some runs the time taken for a locator is halved; while sometimes its randomly high. Am I missing any configuration step here?     When would one choose to use Rx over TPL or are the 2 frameworks orthogonal? From what I understand Rx is primarily intended to provide an abstraction over events and allow composition but it also allows for providing an abstraction over async operations. using the Createxx overloads and the Fromxxx overloads and cancellation via disposing the IDisposable returned. TPL also provides an abstraction for operations via Task and cancellation abilities. My dilemma is when to use which and for what scenarios?

From that I am trying to access and retrieve data. but not display anything in the screen of Palm Pre emulator. So can anyone is having idea about this issue?
