  • need the right way to setcookie in wordpress

    i've been looking the whole day how to setcookies in wordpress. in my way i found out (using the developer toolbar) that the cookie is set but still not working. i have 2 files the first contains the login form redirecting to another page to set the cookie and return to another page to check if it's working. domain which is tested on is like this : blog.mydomain.com. here's the setcookie file : <?php setcookie("user_name","test",time()+3600); ?> and chcking the cookie like this : if(isset($_COOKIE["user_name"])){ echo "cookie exists"; } else{ echo "cookie doesn't exist"; } i've read many topics about this issue but there was no clear answer.     I was assigned to integrate MangoSlick theme to our current admin panel, Its a jQuery, Slick(?) and Responsive template. First, let me explain how the API goes In the documentation, it only says this is the only way data-[options]=[value] Example: If I wanna make a progress bar I can use this format <div class="progress"> <div class="bar" data-title="[title]" data-value="[value]" data-max="[max]" data-format="[format string]"></div> </div> so filling-in values <div class="progress"> <div class="bar" data-title="Space" data-value="1285" data-max="5120" data-format="0,0 MB"></div> </div> I will have this as output Now, the main question is when I use jQuery attr() to change the attribute values for data-title, data-max, data-value and data-format.     I have page1.aspx and page2.aspx in a website I need to navigate as: Page1-- Page 2(on click of go back button, back to page1)-- page 1 I am using jQuery code to navigate: var pagename= "page2.aspx"; jQ(location).attr('href', pagename); I tried using same code in page2 to navigate back to page 1: var path2 = "page1.aspx"; jq(location).attr('href', path2); also tried below code and similar few others as well. document.location.pathname = '../Pages/page1.aspx'; But all it does is, navigate me to show Directory Listing, where it shows all page names under pages folder. Is there anything wrong with the code ? I tried to do it as per levels too, that is ../pages/page1.aspx .

    I have a CDbActiveRecord setup and I have a instance of the CGridView class setup as a widget. Basically my end game is I need a table, but each row to contain the primary key of the row associated with the Active Record. Such as: <tr id="123"> <td> Column value 1 </td> <td> Col 2 </td> <td> Col 3 </td> </tr> That's the specific of the row that I'm looking for. Here's the code I've got so far to produce a table.     I'm trying to create a jQuery plugin that will create something like an autoCompleteBox but with custom features. How do I store member variables for each matching jQuery element? For example I'll need to store a timerID for each. I'd also like to store references to some of the DOM elements that make up the control. I'd like to be able to make a public method that works something like: $("#myCtrl").autoCompleteEx.addItem("1"); But in the implementation of addItem() how can I access the member variables for that particular object like its timerID or whatever?   • jquery cycle not working/playing in IE7

    got the jq cycle plugin to work nicely on all the other major browsers, but IE7 just shows the first nested element (an img with a anchor wrapped around it) with no fade/animation. http://alitedesigns.com/ I checked for trailing commas after the custom attributes for cycle, any thoughts on why IE won't play nice? thanks!

    I'm a newb to jQ so please forgive my ignorance. I'm using Asa Wilson's plugin jquery.dirtyform.js to prompt a user of unsaved changes before they nav away from a page (ASP.Net C# 3.5). It basically loops through all controls and appends a class and handler to each input. Controls w/i an ajaxToolkit:TabPanel are ignored, unfortunately. I'd appreciate if anyone knows of this type of error and how to resolve it short of manually manipulating each control (as I have this logic in the master page). Thank you.

    Hello all, I have a page, which uses jQuery Autocomplete on the second two textboxes (investigator and institution). It is getting the data fine, and displaying it, but for some reason it is not filtering the list of data as i continue to type. Anyone know why? Is there something i need to do to turn this on? According to the jQuery site, the only options to the autocomplete initializer are delay, minLength and source. Thanks in advance! I'm using jQ v1.4.1 and jQui v.1.8rc1. I'm running over it for (i = 0; i < sugestionsArray.length; i++) { $('li.groupCode' + sugestionsArray[i] + ' span').addClass('checkedInput'); $('option[value=' + sugestionsArray[i] + ']').attr('selected', 'selected'); } And this loop runs 3 times perfectly, adding classname and playing with the option. instead of adding a clasname, i'm trying to trigger a click over the span $('li.groupCode' + sugestionsArray[i] + ' span').trigger('click'); which in his turn has a click event bind to it using jq as well Span.click(function() {}) for some reason my loop breaks after the first click. he is leaving the loop and don't continue to the next 2 loops after him. only the first span is been clicked. does anyone has an idea?

    Does anyone know if it is possible with javascript to to tell the position of a mouse click in some text? I know it's easy to get the x,y coordinates, but I'm wanting the position in the text. For example if I clicked inside <p>foo bar</p> I want to be able to tell that the click was on/after the 5th character. Or that foo b is before the click and ar is after it. By the way, I'm using jQuery too, I'm happy with pure JS and solutions that use jQ. Thanks in advance.

If I empty the parentheses after $this.datepicker it works fine. I have also tried another way to assign settings. ("option",...) no dice.

  • jQuery get value from checked element with a given name

    I've got an input like so: I'd like to use jQuery to grab that element, and add the function call foo() to the change event. Currently I can get it done, but there are two hacks involved. My (working) code: $(":input[name*=myfield]").change( function( $(":input[name*=myfield]") ) { foo(); }); )}; There are two hacks in there I'd like to eliminate. Keeping in mind that the input names are multidimensional arrays, how can I use the :input[name=somename], versus [name*=someone]? I'd imagine it's faster using an exact name rather than *=, but I can't get the escape sequence correct for the brackets on the multidimensional arrays. Can I chain the call together so that I don't have to select the element twice? Is the standard practice for that to select the HTML element into a var, then use that var? Or can I chain it together? Thanks for the help. Still working on getting my footing in JS/JQ.

    I've got a nice looking horizontal scroller that uses the Range Input feature of jQ Tools. Mouse wheel scrolling support would be awesome, and I'm sure it can work, just not sure how to get it set up. I've got the generic setup: var scroll = jQuery('#scroll'); jQuery(':range').rangeinput({ speed: 0, progress: true, onSlide: function(ev, step) { scroll.css({left: -step}); }, change: function(e, i) { scroll.animate({left: -i}, "fast"); } }); The doc page ( http://jquerytools.org/documentation/toolbox/mousewheel.html ) for mousewheel gives an example: $("#myelement").mousewheel(function(event, delta) { }); But I'm not sure how this hooks in. Other tools in the package simply allow the option: mousewheel: true Unfortunately that doesn't work on range input. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

  • Loading an XML file with todays date in the filename... need to fallback to old file if one with tod

Using javascript/jQuery I am currently loading in an XML file that has a file name such as carousel_large_2010-06-08.xml.. the way I am doing it is checked for todays date then grabbing a file that has that date in the filename... the issue is sometimes they wont be uploading a new file for a given day so it needs to fallback to a older date that exists.. Wondering how to do it?
