SharePoint 2013 Licensing Simplified

SharePoint 2010 Training: more information Before I begin, let me preface this by saying, I don't work for Microsoft, I don't sell SharePoint, this is merely my understanding of the SharePoint 2013 licensing model. As always, before making any money decisions based on the below, talk to your Microsoft rep. The below is just my understanding, you are responsible for any decision you may take. With that aside, here is how I understand SharePoint 2013 licensing. Note that everything below is for on-prem SharePoint only. Also it goes without saying that you need to purchase windows server and SQL server licenses etc. on top of what you read below. The Basics. You need to buy two things - the SharePoint server, and CALs. SharePoint server comes in SharePoint foundation, standard and enterprise. CALs can be either enterprise or standard, and they can be bought as CALs for SharePoint or a CAL suite which includes exchange and lync. CALs can also be purchased and user CAL or device CAL. Custom Rails Validation (Doesn't seem to be working)

Thanks :) Its also defiantly at least connecting to the website as my firewall asked me if the Terminal was aloud to access it. At the moment not only is it displaying no errors its actually letting anything through and saving it.

I can't download or stream for more then 3 sec, and then the conection activity just dies

Just got a new internet connection installed at my sisters place, but it randomly just stops working. At first it was only affecting flash videos. they would randomly just stop buffering. I did a lot of research on this and found that there can be many things that cause this exact trouble. I then tried IE and some flash would stream fine, but still random deaths. So I told my brother in law to reset the router and modem and that fixed the problem for them but not my laptop. I then started trying to fix the flash problem only to fined that downloads of any kind were affected. Now it is so bad that 50% of page loads will never finish because the connection drops to 0% usage with in a split sec. I can't get flash reinstalled because the installer is trying to download but the download dies at 8% I tried up loading a large file by FTP to a web server with no troubles. Yet any activity on my end that takes longer then about 1 sec to finish, just never finishes I can watch the network log in the taskmanager and it spikes for ruffly one sec then drops back to zero and when I go back to the web page it says it is still loading and no matter how long I let it sit it never does any thing more till I reload then it will again create a very short spike of activity on the connection and then drop to zero. Also if I start a download and it does drop off I can restart the download where it left off and get up to 100Kb/s for around the same one sec then it drops to around 14Kb/s then zero a sec latter... I am running Win 7 home prem x64 with FF11 and IE8 I have simply tried every thing I can short of calling up the ISP which very likely will get me no where fast. any advice on what step to take to figure this out would be nice. I am not even sure it is not just an ISP problem. (at least I should be able to get flash reinstalled once I get back home)

Exchange 2010 issuing NDRs to Hotmail/Live & few other domains on receipt of message

I'm working through a beast of an issue at the moment. Exchange 2010 single server on prem Hybrid deployment to Office 365 ESMTP filtering turned off on ASA Certain domains (most consistently, Hotmail/Live) cannot send us mail. At one point, we couldn't send out either, but I created a new Send Connector that forces HELO instead of EHLO. I turned on SMTP logging, an example of the failed inbound message connection is below. I've read that it could be that reverse DNS is the problem, i.e., the exchange banner smtp address needs to reverse-DNS back to the same IP. Since it's the default exchange connector, its banner is the server's name, but the DNS name of the MX record is different. I'm waiting for the PTR records to update to reflect the internal name as well. Is that the right direction? Is this all DNS or something different? PC -> TV HDMI suddenly doesn't work, any other option does

So my parents wanted to connect their PC to their TV, so they bought a 10m (35 ft) cable. It all worked perfectly. Then my mom tripped over the cable, breaking it. She somehow got a free replacement, but at the same time some more expensive one from an uncle. Now the problem is that this suddenly doesn't work anymore (TV saying "Format not supported"). I've tried several other things to pinpoint the actual problem, but none brought me something conslusive: PC (hdmi) to TV doesn't work (both cables) PC (hdmi) to TV doesn't work (short cable) Laptop (hdmi) to TV work (same cables) BluRay (hdmi) to TV works (same cables) PC (hdmi) to monitor works (same cables) PC (DVI w/ adapter HDMI) to TV works (same cables) I've tried different ports, tried Linux, reinstalling drivers (the graphics card is internal using an i5 sandy bridge. Normally it's running Windows 7 Home Prem, the TV being a Philips 37PFL7605H). So basically, everything works, except that thing what we want. The only things I am thinking of is that the sound is interfering or that the HDMI-output is somehow broken. Or is it anything else? I'm kind of lost.

External HDD incorrectly detected as internal - how change to enable hot swap/eject?

Hi All, I have win 7 x64 Home Prem. The HDD is a seagate barracuda, 7200.7 ST3120827AS. 3.5", Serial: 3ms006n6, Firmware: 3.42 (no further updates) NexStar CX External case (drivers installed). I have three drives: WD320 with OS installed WD750 data storage (internal) seagate 120 (external) - connected via esata board connected to sata on motherboard (MSI p43 neo) Tried uninstalling HDD in device manager to no effect. Also the internal WD750 is detected as an external drive and win taskbar icon allows for it to be ejected (unlike the seagate). All drives are configured - Online, Simple, Basic, NTFS, Active, Primary Partition (except c drive). The seagate was previously used as a primary disk with XP operating system so I deleted the volume and created/reformatted (not quick). HDD is no longer "Active". But did not fix problem. Background Originally, I installed win 7 with the bios set to IDE and forgot to install the chipset drivers. Then I changed win 7 to install the AHCI drivers, changed the bios to AHCI and rebooted. Win 7 loaded drivers but WD HDD gave problems/crashed. I installed chipset drivers and latest intell storage matrix software thingie (in safe mode). Everything worked fine after that except for the problem of not corrrectly detecting the external drive] I have noticed that under the driver properties (and similarly in the registry) the two drives are configured differently (e.g. in driver details property capabilities for the WD the value is set to 0000006, CM_DEVCAP_REMOVABLE & EJECTSUPPORTED - whereas the seagate shows 0000080 & CM_DEVCAP_SURPRISEREMOVALOK). Any easy way to configure things? Defining a variable in a class and using it in functions

I am trying to learn PHP classes so I can begin coding more OOP projects. To help me learn I am building a class that uses the Rapidshare API. Here's my class: <?php class RS { public $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; function apiCall($params) { echo $baseUrl; } } ?> $params will contain a set of key pair values, like this: $params = array( 'sub' => 'listfiles_v1', 'type' => 'prem', 'login' => '746625', 'password' => 'not_my_real_pass', 'realfolder' => '0', 'fields' => 'filename,downloads,size', ); Which will later be appended to $baseUrl to make the final request URL, but I can't get $baseUrl to appear in my apiCall() method. I have tried the following: var $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; private $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; And even tried $this->baseUrl = $baseUrl; in my apiCall() methid, I don't know what the hell I was thinking there though lol. Android Plugin for Eclipse problem

I am using a laptop with Windows 7 Home Prem x64. I have installed Java JDK1.6.0_18 and Eclipse Gallileo. I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Android SDK with several Platforms loaded and a AVD defined. I can install the Android Eclipse plugin from the remote site stated in the instructions. The plugin installation performs without any errors and I can verify that the plugins are indeed installed. My problem begins when I go to Windows - Preferences, there is no Android section to configure. And when I go to File - New - Project, there is no Android Project to choose. I have uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled at least 10 times, trying different things and still no luck. I originally had the 64 bit version of the JDK installed, but removed it and installed the 32 bit version. Has anyone heard of this type of problem? Is it because I am using Windows 7? After I had a lot of problems with preemptive authentication , I got it finally working. Now the next problem. I want to get a file with it, but I don't know how. I thought the file data might be in the variable response, but it isn't. Any ideas how this might work?
