  • Sendmail problem

    - by trobrock
I am trying to get my server to be able to send email from PHP. Currently it is using send mail, but whenever I try to send mail to a gmail address I get this sort of response: --o54Mqd5s008981.1275691959/ServerName Content-Type: message/delivery-status Reporting-MTA: dns; ServerName Received-From-MTA: DNS; localhost Arrival-Date: Fri, 4 Jun 2010 22:52:38 GMT Final-Recipient: RFC822; [email protected] Action: failed Status: 5.7.1 Remote-MTA: DNS; gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; 550-5.7.1 [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] The IP you're using to send mail is not authorized Last-Attempt-Date: Fri, 4 Jun 2010 22:52:39 GMT How can I set this up to relay through a google account that I own? Is sendmail the best thing to use, or should I switch to Postfix or something? This is on an Ubuntu Server 9.10

  • Send Gmail emails from Facebook address

    - by Mikulas Dite
Is it somehow possible to link Facebook address each username is given to Gmail? Obviously, there is the "Accounts, Send mail as" feature, but that used to return an error ... Final-Recipient: rfc822; [email protected] Action: failed Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.1.1 RCP-P2 http://postmaster.facebook.com/response_codes?ip=209.85.210.181#rcp Refused due to recipient preferences You have requested to add [email protected] to your Gmail account. Confirmation code: XXXXXXXX ... The XXX part is actually how the email actually reads, the daemon does in fact obfuscate the code prior to sending it back. I tried again recently, but Facebook mailer does not even return the error message nowadays (alas, it doesn't show in the message center either). So, is there a way to link those to services nowadays?

  • Getting a lot of postmaster undeliverable notices for non-existent users

    - by Mike Walsh
I've had my domain (straightpathsql.com) for a few years now. I host my e-mail with Google Accounts for business and have for awhile. ALl of the sudden in the past week I am starting to get a lot of postmaster delivery fail notices from various domains, most of them involving bogus e-mail addresses at my domain ([email protected], for example)... My assumption here is that someone is trying to relay on some other host (not my hosts which are secure through google apps for business, I presume) and there isn't much I can do to stop it. But I just want to make sure there isn't something else I need to be looking at here.. An example delivery fail notice is below.. I know nothing of those addresses below and they look like garbage... (Quick edit: the reason I get these messages is I set myself up as a catch all, so it doesn't matter what e-mail you send a note to at my domain, I'll get it if the account isn't setup... All of the failure messages are sent to bogus addresses on my domain) The following message to <[email protected]> was undeliverable. The reason for the problem: 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 553-'sorry, this recipient is in my badrecipientto list (#5.7.1)' Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected] Action: failed Status: 5.0.0 (permanent failure) Remote-MTA: dns; [118.82.83.11] Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 553-'sorry, this recipient is in my badrecipientto list (#5.7.1)' (delivery attempts: 0) ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Howard Blankenship <[email protected]> To: omiivi2922 <[email protected]> Cc: Date: Subject: Hi omiivi2922

  • Rails, gmail: howto get plain/text from body

    - by atmorell
    Hello, I am loading am email with IMAP and parsing it with mail. This works very well, however the mail.body.decoded field contains a lot of formatting. How do I dig out the plain/txt body of the email - ignore attachements, formatting etc. It works fine if I try with an email without html. source = imap.uid_fetch(uid, ['RFC822']).first.attr['RFC822'] mail = Mail.new(source) This body content looks like this: Mail::Body:0x7f36ed468270 @epilogue="", @boundary="_004_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_", @encoding="7bit", @raw_source="--_004_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_\r\nContent-Type: multipart/alternative;\r\n\tboundary=\"_000_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_\"\r\n\r\n--_000_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_\r\nContent-Type: text/plain; charset=\"iso-8859-1\"\r\nContent-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable\r\n\r\ndasdsasda\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMed venlig hilsen / Med V=E4nlig H=E4lsning / Best Regards\r\r\nAsbj=F8rn Toke Morell. .\r\n+45 7020 0160\r\n+45 2152 0015\r\n[cid:[email protected]]\r\nhttp://www..dk\r\n\r\n\r\n--_000_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_\r\nContent-Type: text/html; charset=\"iso-8859-1\"\r\nContent-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable\r\n\r\n<html>headheadbody style3D"word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode:=\r\n space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">dasdsasda<br><div apple-co=\r\nntent-edited=3D"true">\r\n<span class=3D"Apple-style-span" style=3D"border-collapse: separate; color:=\r\n rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium; font-style: norma=\r\nl; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-=\r\nheight: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transf=\r\norm: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-borde=\r\nr-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-te=\r\nxt-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-tex=\r\nt-stroke-width: 0px; "><span class=3D"Apple-style-span" style=3D"font-famil=\r\ny: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; "><span class=3D"Apple-style-span"=\r\n style=3D"border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helv=\r\netica; font-size: medium; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-we=\r\night: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text=\r\n-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-sp=\r\nacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical=\r\n-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-=\r\nadjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; "><span class=3D"Apple-style-=\r\nspan" style=3D"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; "><div st=\r\nyle=3D"margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-=\r\nleft: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><font class=\r\n=3D"Apple-style-span" color=3D"#000080" face=3D"'Times New Roman', serif" s=\r\nize=3D"3"><span class=3D"Apple-style-span" style=3D"font-size: 13px; "><br =\r\nclass=3D"Apple-interchange-newline"><br></span></font></div><div style=3D"m=\r\nargin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0c=\r\nm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><font class=3D"Appl=\r\ne-style-span" color=3D"#000080" face=3D"'Times New Roman', serif" size=3D"3=\r\n"><span class=3D"Apple-style-span" style=3D"font-size: 13px; "><br></span><=\r\n/font></div><div style=3D"margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom=\r\n: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-s=\r\nerif; "><span style=3D"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', ser=\r\nif; color: navy; ">Med venlig hilsen / Med V=E4nlig H=E4lsning / Best Regar=\r\nds&nbsp;<br>firm<br>Asbj=F8rn Toke Morell...   • File created using MODE_WORLD_READABLE not getting sent as attachment by email

    - by Dheeraj
I created the SQLite DB using the following code: context.openOrCreateDatabase(dbName, Context.MODE_WORLD_READABLE, null); And tried to send it as attachment by email using the following code: Intent emailIntent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_SEND) .setType("message/rfc822") .putExtra(android.content.Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, Uri.fromFile(getDatabasePath(dbName))); startActivity(Intent.createChooser(emailIntent, null)); This opens the GMail compose activity with the attachment icon. But the recipient did not receive the attachment. This has been asked before. But it looks like there is no solution other than to copy the db file to SD card. My question then is: What is the use of the MODE_WORLD_READABLE flag if another app like GMail is unable to read the file?

  • Same domain only : smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 530-'SMTP authentication is required

    - by user124672
I have a very strange problem after moving my netwave.be domain from WebHost4Life to Arvixe. I configured several email adresses, like [email protected] and [email protected]. For POP3 I can use mail.netwave.be, a mailserver hosted by Arvixe. However, for SMTP I have to use relay.skynet.be. Skynet (Belgacom) is one of the biggest internet providers in Belgium and blocks smtp requests to external mailservers. So for years I've been using relay.skynet.be to send my messages using [email protected] as the sender. The worked perfectly. After moving my domain to Arvixe, this is no longer the case. I can send emails to people, no problem. I have received emails too, so I suspect that's ok too. But I can't send emails from one user of my domain to another user. For example, if I send a mail from [email protected] to [email protected], relay.skynet.be picks up the mail just fine. A few seconds later, I get a 'Delivery Status Notification (Failure)' mail that contains: Reporting-MTA: dns; mailrelay012.isp.belgacom.be Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected] Action: failed Status: 5.0.0 (permanent failure) Remote-MTA: dns; [69.72.141.4] Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 530-'SMTP authentication is required.' (delivery attempts: 0) Like I said, this only seems to be the case when both the sender and recipient are adresses of a domain hosted by Arvixe. I have serveral accounts not related to Arvixe at all. I can use relay.skynet.be to send mail to [email protected] using these accounts. Likewise, I can use relay.skynet.be to send mail from [email protected] to these accounts. but not from one Arvixe account to another. I hope I have clearly outlined the problem and someone will be able to help me.

  • Forwarding an email with python smtplib

    - by robbles
I'm trying to put together a script that automatically forwards certain emails that match a specific criteria to another email. I've got the downloading and parsing of messages using imaplib and email working, but I can't figure out how to forward an entire email to another address. Do I need to build a new message from scratch, or can I somehow modify the old one and re-send it? Here's what I have so far (client is an imaplib.IMAP4 connection, and id is a message ID): status, data = client.fetch(id, '(RFC822)') email_body = data[0][1] mail = email.message_from_string(email_body) # ...Process message... # This doesn't work forward = email.message.Message() forward.set_payload(mail.get_payload()) forward['From'] = '[email protected]' forward['To'] = '[email protected]' smtp.sendmail(user, ['[email protected]'], forward.as_string()) I'm sure there's something slightly more complicated I need to be doing with regard to the MIME content of the message. Surely there's some simple way of just forwarding the entire message though? # This doesn't work either, it just freezes...? mail['From'] = '[email protected]' mail['To'] = '[email protected]' smtp.sendmail(user, ['[email protected]'], mail.as_string())

  • Adding an encapsulated email (like a forwarded email) from Zend Mail.

    - by Kieran
I'm trying to get Zend_Mail to send an encapsulated message - as though it's forwarding an email. $attachedContent = "<h1>H1 Email</h1>"; $emailContent = "<h1>Email Content>"; $mail = new Zend_Mail(); $mail->setBodyText('text content'); $mail->setBodyHtml($emailContent); $mail->setFrom('[email protected]', 'GAS'); $mail->addTo('[email protected]', 'GAS'); $at = $mail->createAttachment($attachedContent); $at->type = 'message/rfc822; name="forwarded message"'; $at->disposition = Zend_Mime::DISPOSITION_INLINE; $at->encoding = Zend_Mime::ENCODING_7BIT; $mail->setSubject('Test'); $mail->send(); Mail clients are getting the email, rendering the normal HTML content, and displaying the forwarded message and rendering its contents, however, it's formatting like: <h1>Email Content</h1> Can you see what I'm doing wrong? I've not found anything online, and have tried my best to copy the formatting from looking at email source. Cheers, Kieran

  • Sending Email with attachment, sends a blank file.

I checked it from file explorer, where myfile.csv is not blank and contains right data. How can I solve this?

  • How should I ask for help in getting my emails to stop bouncing?

    - by Gregg Williams
For several months, people have been telling me that emails they sent to me have been bouncing back, marked as undeliverable. The bounce message would contain portions like this: Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected] Action: failed Status: 5.7.1 Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550 5.7.1 <[email protected]>... Recipient declines email from 69.64.159.2, <spamhaus-xbl>, Ref: http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=69.64.159.2 Clicking the link on the last line, the destination page told me that "this IP address is infected with/emitting spamware/spamtrojan traffic and needs to be fixed." I could temporarily de-list this node by clicking a link on that page, but it would get back on the list and more emails to me to bounce. I own a domain, innerpaths.net, and I normally use [email protected] for my email. I have my domain registrar, namecheap.com, forward all email from innerpaths.net to the email account [email protected]. (BTW, I had this same problem at a former registrar. I changed registrars, hoping that would fix the problem. It didn't.) Trying to isolate the problem, I asked namecheap.com what I should do. Their answer, though substantial, left me scratching my head: We have received feedback from our upstream provider which informed us that the mail server that you are trying to email subscribes to a 3rd party blacklist service which they appear to be listed on at the present time and is causing destination mail server to reject the messages. Being blocked with one of these services can happen to anyone for many reasons and is something that is beyond our control. 3rd party blacklist services require companies whose mail servers they have blacklisted, pay fees in order to be removed from their lists. As we cannot pay fees to blacklist services which require them for removal, you should contact your email provider and have them whitelist our mail server IP address: 69.64.157.73. My best guess is that I should email my ISP, sonic.net, tell them what is going on and ask them to whitelist the IP address 69.64.157.73. (If not, please let me know.) But I want to know what is going on and how email works. I understand that there's a device at location 69.64.159.2 that is doing something bad that causes the "destination mail server [sonic.net's, I assume --gw] to reject the messages." I know that email is sent through multiple devices in a way that eventually gets it to its destination. Beyond that, here are my questions: 1) I thought the Internet "routed around damage." Why does email starting at namecheap.com always (or is it 'sometimes'?) go through 69.64.159.2? 2) Who is the "upstream provider" that the namecheap.com representative mentions, and what is their role? 3) How does having sonic.net's whitelisting namecheap.com's mail server prevent my email being bounced by 69.64.159.2? I've searched the Internet for answers but have found nothing useful. Thanks for whatever answers you can provide.

  • Courier Maildrop error user unknown. Command output: Invalid user specified

    - by cad
Hello I have a problem with maildrop. I have read dozens of webs/howto/emails but couldnt solve it. My objective is moving automatically spam messages to a spam folder. My email server is working perfectly. It marks spam in subject and headers using spamassasin. My box has: Ubuntu 9.04 Web: Apache2 + Php5 + MySQL MTA: Postfix 2.5.5 + SpamAssasin + virtual users using mysql IMAP: Courier 0.61.2 + Courier AuthLib WebMail: SquirrelMail I have read that I could use Squirrelmail directly (not a good idea), procmail or maildrop. As I already have maildrop in the box (from courier) I have configured the server to use maildrop (added an entry in transport table for a virtual domain). I found this error in email: This is the mail system at host foo.net I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below. • Exchange 2003 mail non-delivery (NDR), spam activity? events 7002 & 7004

    - by HighTechGeek
Windows Server 2003 Small Business Server SP2 Exchange Version 6.5 (Build 7638.2: Service Pack 2) This network has been neglected and has been having email problems for years and was on many blacklists. I was called in after the server eventually crashed... I got the server back up and running, but email problems persist. Outgoing mail delivery is sporadic. Sometimes the mail goes through, sometimes a delayed delivery report is generated after a day or more, and sometimes it seems to go through, but the recipient never receives it. Not sure if spammers are successfully using the server as a relay (see event entries below after turning on maximum SMTP logging)... User PCs infected with viruses and server was blacklisted on many sites (I used mxtoolbox.com) I have cleaned all the PCs and changed all passwords (including administrator) I have requested removal from all of the blacklists - most have removed the listing, some take more time. I have setup rDNS pointer records with the ISP (Comcast) - that was one reason for some of the blacklistings. I have tested that it's not an open relay using telnet as described here: www.amset.info/exchange/smtp-openrelay.asp I followed the advise of a Spamhaus & Microsoft article to enable maximum SMTP logging. http://www.spamhaus.org/faq/answers.lasso?section=isp%20spam%20issues#320 which directed me to Microsoft KB article 895853, specifically, the part 2/3 down titled: "If mail relay occurs from an account on an Exchange computer that is not configured as an open relay" . The Application Event Log is filling with this type of activity (Event ID 7002, 7002 & 3018 errors): Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeTransport Event Category: SMTP Protocol Event ID: 7004 Date: 1/18/2011 Time: 7:33:29 AM User: N/A Computer: SERVER Description: This is an SMTP protocol error log for virtual server ID 1, connection #621. The remote host "212.52.84.180", responded to the SMTP command "rcpt" with "550 #5.1.0 Address rejected [email protected] ". The full command sent was "RCPT TO: ". This will probably cause the connection to fail. and this: Event Type: Warning Event Source: MSExchangeTransport Event Category: SMTP Protocol Event ID: 7002 Date: 1/18/2011 Time: 7:33:29 AM User: N/A Computer: SERVER Description: This is an SMTP protocol warning log for virtual server ID 1, connection #620. The remote host "212.52.84.170", responded to the SMTP command "rcpt" with "452 Too many recipients received this hour ". The full command sent was "RCPT TO: ". This may cause the connection to fail. or a variant of: Event Type: Warning Event Source: MSExchangeTransport Event Category: SMTP Protocol Event ID: 7002 Date: 1/18/2011 Time: 8:39:21 AM User: N/A Computer: SERVER Description: This is an SMTP protocol warning log for virtual server ID 1, connection #661. This may cause the connection to fail. also Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeTransport Event Category: NDR Event ID: 3018 Date: 1/18/2011 Time: 9:49:37 AM User: N/A Computer: SERVER Description: A non-delivery report with a status code of 5.4.0 was generated for recipient rfc822;[email protected] (Message-ID ). Causes: This message indicates a DNS problem or an IP address configuration problem Solution: Check the DNS using nslookup or dnsq. Verify the IP address is in IPv4 literal format. • Debugging PHP Mail() and/or PHPMailer

    - by Agos
Hi, I'm quite stuck with a problem sending mail from a PHP script. Some data: Shared hosting, no SSH access, only hosting provider panel PHP version 5.2.5 Last year I built a site which had no problems sending mail with the same hosting Let's say the domain is “domain.com” and my private address is “[email protected]” for anonimity's sake in the following code.
