  • Libgdx actor bounds are wrong

    - by Undume
    The Actor's boundaries are not centered at the ButtonText but I used the setBounds() method. The higher the Y position is, the less centered is the boundary. The weird thing is that i only created and added to the Stage one button but the screen shows two. When i click the top button, the bottom one is the one highlighted. How can i fix that? import com.badlogic.gdx.Game; import com.badlogic.gdx.Gdx; import com.badlogic.gdx.files.FileHandle; import com.badlogic.gdx.scenes.scene2d.Stage; import com.badlogic.gdx.scenes.scene2d.ui.Skin; import com.badlogic.gdx.scenes.scene2d.ui.TextButton; public class MyGame extends Game { Stage stage; @Override public void create() { stage=new Stage(); FileHandle skinFile = new FileHandle("data/resources/uiskin/uiskin.json"); Skin skin = new Skin(skinFile); TextButton sas=new TextButton("dd",skin); sas.setBounds(0, 500, 100, 100); stage.addActor(sas); Gdx.input.setInputProcessor(stage); } @Override public void dispose() { super.dispose(); } @Override public void render() { super.render(); stage.act(Gdx.graphics.getDeltaTime()); stage.draw(); } @Override public void resize(int width, int height) { super.resize(width, height); } @Override public void pause() { super.pause(); } @Override public void resume() { super.resume(); } }

  • creating a pre-menu level select screen

    - by Ephiras
    Hi I am working on creating a tower Defence java applet game and have come to a road block about implementing a title screen that i can select the level and difficulty of the rest of the game. my title screen class is called Menu. from this menu class i need to pass in many different variables into my Main class. i have used different classes before and know how to run them and such. but if both classes extend applet and each has its individual graphics method how can i run things from Main even though it was created in Menu. what i essentially want to do is run the Menu class withits action listeners and graphics until a Difficulty button has been selected, run the main class (which 100% works without having to have the Menu class) and pretty much terminate Menu so that i cannot go back to it, do not see its buttons or graphics menus. can i run one applet annd when i choose a button close that one and launch the other one? IF you would like to download the full project you can find it here, i had to comment out all the code that wasn't working my Menu class import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.applet.*; public class Menu extends Applet implements ActionListener{ Button bEasy,bMed,bHard; Main m; public void init(){ bEasy= new Button("Easy"); bEasy.setBounds(140,200,100,50); add(bEasy); bMed = new Button("Medium");bMed.setBounds(280,200,100,50); add(bMed); bHard= new Button("Hard");bHard.setBounds(420,200,100,50); add(bHard); setLayout(null); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){ Main m = new Main(20,10,3000,mapMed);//break; switch (e.getSource()){ case bEasy: Main m = new Main(6000,20,"levels/levelEasy.png");break;//enimies tower money world case bMed: Main m = new Main(4000,15,"levels/levelMed.png");break; case bHard: Main m = new Main(2000,10,"levels/levelEasy.png");break; default: break; } } public void paint(){ //m.draw(g) } } and here is my main class initialising code. import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.applet.*; import java.io.IOException; public class Main extends Applet implements Runnable, MouseListener, MouseMotionListener, ActionListener{ Button startButton, UpgRange, UpgDamage; //set up the buttons Color roadCol,startCol,finCol,selGrass,selRoad; //set up the colors Enemy e[][]; Tower t[]; Image towerpic,backpic,roadpic,levelPic; private Image i; private Graphics doubleG; //here is the world 0=grass 1=road 2=start 3=end int world[][],eStartX,eStartY; boolean drawMouse,gameEnd; static boolean start=false; static int gridLength=15; static int round=0; int Mx,My,timer=1500; static int sqrSize=31; int towers=0,towerSelected=-10; static int castleHealth=2000; String levelPath; //choose the level Easy Med or Hard int maxEnemy[] = {5,7,12,20,30,15,50,30,40,60};//number of enimies per round int maxTowers=15;//maximum number of towers allowed static int money =2000,damPrice=600,ranPrice=350,towerPrice=700; //money = the intial ammount of money you start of with //damPrice is the price to increase the damage of a tower //ranPrice is the price to increase the range of a tower public void main(int cH,int mT,int mo,int dP,int rP,int tP,String path,int[] mE)//constructor 1 castleHealth=cH; maxTowers=mT; money=mo; damPrice=dP; ranPrice=rP; towerPrice=tP; String levelPath=path; maxEnemy = mE; buildLevel(); } public void main(int cH,int mT,String path)//basic constructor castleHealth=cH; maxTowers=mT; String levelPath=path; maxEnemy = mE; buildLevel(); } public void init(){ setSize(sqrSize*15+200,sqrSize*15);//set the size of the screen roadCol = new Color(255,216,0);//set the colors for the different objects startCol = new Color(0,38,255); finCol = new Color(255,0,0); selRoad = new Color(242,204,155);//selColor is the color of something when your mouse hovers over it selGrass = new Color(0,190,0); roadpic = getImage(getDocumentBase(),"images/road.jpg"); towerpic = getImage(getDocumentBase(),"images/tower.png"); backpic = getImage(getDocumentBase(),"images/grass.jpg"); levelPic = getImage(getDocumentBase(),"images/level.jpg"); e= new Enemy[maxEnemy.length][];//activates all of the enimies for (int r=0;r<e.length;r++) e[r] = new Enemy[maxEnemy[r]]; t= new Tower[maxTowers]; for (int i=0;i<t.length;i++) t[i]= new Tower();//activates all the towers for (int i=0;i<e.length; i++)//sets all of the enimies starting co ordinates for (int j=0;j<e[i].length;j++) e[i][j] = new Enemy(eStartX,eStartY,world); initButtons();//initialise all the buttons addMouseMotionListener(this); addMouseListener(this); }

  • android custom map marker bounds

    - by max4ever
    Hello i am using a resized version of this marker( http://www.clker.com/clipart-orange-pin-4.html ) for showing markers in google maps on android. The problem is i don't know how to make the marker point match the coordinates. The arrow point is at about 1/5 of the Width coordinates and MAX of the Height. here is my class public class GestionaleItemizedOverlay extends com.google.android.maps.ItemizedOverlay { public GestionaleItemizedOverlay(Drawable defaultMarker, Context context) { //super(boundCenterBottom(defaultMarker)); super(boundCenter(defaultMarker)); this.mContext = context; } ... And this this.marker_poi = this.getContext().getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.marker); this.marker_poi.setBounds(this.marker_poi.getIntrinsicWidth() / 2, this.marker_poi.getIntrinsicHeight(), this.marker_poi.getIntrinsicWidth() / 2, 0); new GestionaleItemizedOverlay(this.poi, this.context); Do i need to setBounds on the marker before passing it to the constructor? and why does super(defaultMarker) makes all the markers not to show ?

  • Swing Panel Question

    - by dalton conley
    Ok, so I've been pulling my hair out over this all day. I cannot get my panels to resize. I add a panel to anything.. a frame, a content pane, and It wont .. "force" setBounds for some strange reason. Container pane = window.getContentPane(); JPanel calendarPanel = new JPanel(); pane.add(calendarPanel); calendarPanel.setBounds(0,0, 320, 335); note that window is of JFrame. Any suggestions to sizing a panel would be appreciated!

  • Java accessing variables using extends

    - by delo
    So here I have two classes: Customer Order Class and Confirmation Class. I want to access the data stored in LastNameTextField (Customer Order Class) and set it as the text for UserLastNameLabel (Confirmation Class) after clicking a "Submit" button. For some reason however, the output displays nothing. Snippet of my code: package customer_order; public class customer_order extends Frame{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private JPanel jPanel = null; private JLabel LastNameLabel = null; protected JTextField LastNameTextField = null; private JButton SubmitButton = null; public String s; public customer_order() { super(); initialize(); } private void initialize() { this.setSize(729, 400); this.setTitle("Customer Order"); this.add(getJPanel(), BorderLayout.CENTER); } /** * This method initializes LastNameTextField * * @return javax.swing.JTextField */ public JTextField getLastNameTextField() { if (LastNameTextField == null) { LastNameTextField = new JTextField(); LastNameTextField.setBounds(new Rectangle(120, 100, 164, 28)); LastNameTextField.setName("LastNameTextField"); } return LastNameTextField; } /** * This method initializes SubmitButton * * @return javax.swing.JButton */ private JButton getSubmitButton() { if (SubmitButton == null) { SubmitButton = new JButton(); SubmitButton.setBounds(new Rectangle(501, 225, 96, 29)); SubmitButton.setName("SubmitButton"); SubmitButton.setText("Submit"); SubmitButton.addActionListener(new java.awt.event.ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent e) { System.out.println("actionPerformed()"); // TODO Auto-generated Event stub actionPerformed() //THE STRING I WANT s = LastNameTextField.getText(); java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { new confirmation().setVisible(true); } }); } }); } return SubmitButton; } package customer_order; public class confirmation extends customer_order{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private JPanel jPanel = null; // @jve:decl-index=0:visual-constraint="58,9" private JLabel LastNameLabel = null; private JLabel UserLastNameLabel = null; // @jve:decl-index=0: /** * This method initializes frame * * @return java.awt.Frame */ public confirmation() { super(); initialize(); } private void initialize() { this.setSize(729, 400); this.setTitle("Confirmation"); this.add(getJPanel(), BorderLayout.CENTER); } /** * This method initializes jPanel * * @return javax.swing.JPanel */ private JPanel getJPanel() { if (jPanel == null) { UserLastNameLabel = new JLabel(); UserLastNameLabel.setBounds(new Rectangle(121, 60, 167, 26)); //THE PROBLEM?   • Determing size of visible area of a ScrollingGraphicalViewer in Eclipse GEF

    - by Simon
    I am attempting to create a simple application using Eclipse GEF that displays a diagram inside a ScrollingGraphicalViewer. On start-up I want the diagram to be centered inside the viewer (imagine a star layout where the center of the star is in the center of the view). Here are what I think are the relevant code sections: My view: public class View extends ViewPart { public static final String ID = "GEFProofOfConcept.view"; ... public void createPartControl(Composite parent) { viewer.createControl(parent); viewer.setRootEditPart(rootEditPart); viewer.setEditPartFactory(editPartFactory); viewer.setContents(DummyModelCreator.generateModel()); } The edit part code: @Override protected void refreshVisuals() { Project project = (Project) getModel(); // This is where the actual drawing is done, // Simply a rectangle with text Rectangle bounds = new Rectangle(50, 50, 75, 50); getFigure().setBounds(bounds); Label label = new Label(project.getName()); projectFont = new Font(null, "Arial", 6, SWT.NORMAL); label.setFont(projectFont); label.setTextAlignment(PositionConstants.CENTER); label.setBounds(bounds.crop(IFigure.NO_INSETS)); getFigure().add(label); setLocation(); } private void setLocation() { Project project = (Project) getModel(); if (project.isRoot()) { // Place in centre of the layout Point centrePoint = new Point(0, 0); // This is where I need the center of the view getFigure().setLocation(centrePoint); } else { ... } } And the parent of the above edit part: public class ProjectDependencyModelEditPart extends AbstractGraphicalEditPart { @Override protected IFigure createFigure() { Figure f = new FreeformLayer(); f.setLayoutManager(new XYLayout()); return f; } ... Alternative solutions to the problem also welcome, I am most certainly a GEF (and Eclipse in general) newbie.

  • More than one JPanel in a Frame / having a brackground Image and another Layer with Components on the top

    - by user1905203
    I've got a JFrame with a JPanel in which there is a JLabel with an ImageIcon(). Everything's working perfectly, problem is i now want to add another JPanel with all the other stuff like buttons and so on to the JFrame. But it still shows the background Image on top and nothing with the second JPanel. Can someone help me? Here is an extract of my code: JFrame window = new JFrame("Http Download"); /* * Background Section */ JPanel panel1 = new JPanel(); JLabel lbl1 = new JLabel(); /* * Component Section */ JPanel panel2 = new JPanel(); JLabel lbl2 = new JLabel(); /* * Dimension Section */ Dimension windowSize = new Dimension(800, 600); Dimension screen = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize(); public HTTPDownloadGUI() { window.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); panel1.setLayout(null); panel1.setSize(windowSize); panel1.setOpaque(false); panel2.setLayout(null); panel2.setSize(windowSize); panel2.setOpaque(false); lbl1.setSize(windowSize); lbl1.setLocation(0, 0); lbl1.setIcon(new ImageIcon(getClass().getResource("bg1.png"))); panel1.add(lbl1); lbl2.setBounds(0, 0, 100, 100); //lbl2.setIcon(new ImageIcon(getClass().getResource("bg2.png"))); lbl2.setBackground(Color.GREEN); panel2.add(lbl2); panel1.add(panel2); window.add(panel1); int X = (screen.width / 2) - (windowSize.width / 2); int Y = (screen.height / 2) - (windowSize.height / 2); window.setBounds(X,Y , windowSize.width, windowSize.height); window.setVisible(true); }

  • JScrollPane content to image

    - by Sebastian Ikaros Rizzo
    I'm trying to save the main viewport and headers of a JScrollPane (larger than screen) to PNG image files. I created 3 classes extending JPanel (MainTablePanel, MapsHeaderPanel and ItemsHeaderPanel) and set them to the viewports. Each of them has this method: public BufferedImage createImage() { BufferedImage bi = new BufferedImage(getSize().width, getSize().height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB); Graphics g = bi.createGraphics(); paint(g); g.dispose(); return bi; } Each class has also a paint method, which paints the background and then call the super.paint() to paint some label. For example: public void paint(Graphics g){ g.setColor(Color.BLACK); g.fillRect(0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight()); g.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 0, 50)); // for loop that paints some vertical yellow lines for(int i=0; i<getWidth(); i+=K.mW){ g.fillRect(i-1, 0, 2, getHeight()); if(i%(K.mW*5)==0){ g.fillRect(i-2, 0, 4, getHeight()); } } // called to pain some rotated JLabels super.paint(g); } From an external JFrame I then tried to save them to PNG file, using this code: BufferedImage tableImg = mainTableP.createImage(); BufferedImage topImg = mapsHeaderP.createImage(); BufferedImage leftImg = itemsHeaderP.createImage(); ImageIO.write(tableImg, "png", new File(s.homeDir+"/table.png")); ImageIO.write(topImg, "png", new File(s.homeDir+"/top.png")); ImageIO.write(leftImg, "png", new File(s.homeDir+"/left.png")); This is a screenshot of the application running: screenshot And this is the header exported: top If I comment the "super.paint(g)" instruction, I obtain a correct image (thus without all JLables, clearly). It seems like the second paint (super.paint(g)) is painted shifted into the BufferedImage and taking elements outside its JPanel. Somebody could explain me this behaviour? Thank you. ========== EDIT for SSCCE ==================================== This should compile. You can execute it as it is, and in c:\ you'll find two images (top.png and left.png) that should be the same as the two headers. Unfortunately, they are not. Background is not painted. Moreover (especially if you look at left.png) you can see that the labels are painted twice and shifted (note, for example, "Left test 21"). import java.awt.*; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import java.io.File; import javax.imageio.ImageIO; import javax.swing.*; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { JFrame frame = new JFrame(); frame.setLayout(null); frame.setSize(800, 600); JScrollPane scrollP = new JScrollPane(); scrollP.setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS); scrollP.setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS); MyPanel top = new MyPanel(); for(int i=0; i<30; i++){ JLabel label = new JLabel("Test "+i); label.setOpaque(false); label.setBounds(50*i, 40, 50, 20); label.setForeground(Color.GREEN); top.add(label); } top.setLayout(null); top.setOpaque(false); top.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(50*30, 200)); top.validate(); MyPanel left = new MyPanel(); for(int i=0; i<30; i++){ JLabel label = new JLabel("Left test "+i); label.setBounds(0, 50*i, 100, 20); label.setForeground(Color.RED); left.add(label); } left.setLayout(null); left.setOpaque(false); left.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(200, 50*30)); MyPanel center = new MyPanel(); center.setLayout(null); center.setOpaque(false); center.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(50*30, 50*30)); scrollP.setViewportView(center); scrollP.setColumnHeaderView(top); scrollP.setRowHeaderView(left); scrollP.setBounds(0, 50, 750, 500); frame.add(scrollP); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(javax.swing.WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); frame.setVisible(true); try{ BufferedImage topImg = top.createImage(); ImageIO.write(topImg, "png", new File("C:/top.png")); BufferedImage leftImg = left.createImage(); ImageIO.write(leftImg, "png", new File("C:/left.png")); }catch(Exception e){ e.printStackTrace(); } } } class MyPanel extends JPanel{ public void paint(Graphics g){ g.setColor(Color.BLACK); g.fillRect(0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight()); g.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 0, 50)); for(int i=0; i<getWidth(); i+=50){ g.fillRect(i-1, 0, 2, getHeight()); } super.paint(g); // COMMENT this line to obtain background images } public BufferedImage createImage() { BufferedImage bi = new BufferedImage(getSize().width, getSize().height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB); Graphics g = bi.createGraphics(); paint(g); g.dispose(); return bi; } }

  • JLabel animation in JPanel

    - by Trizicus
    After scratching around I found that it's best to implement a custom image component by extending a JLabel. So far that has worked great as I can add multiple "images" (jlabels without the layout breaking. I just have a question that I hope someone can answer for me. I noticed that in order to animate JLabels across the screen I need to setlayout(null); and setbounds of the component and then to animate eventually setlocation(x,y);. Is this a best practice or a terrible way to animate a component? I plan on eventually making an animation class but I don't want to do so and end up having to chuck it. I have included relevant code for a quick review check. import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.swing.Timer; public class GraphicsPanel extends JPanel { private Timer timer; private long startTime = 0; private int numFrames = 0; private float fps = 0.0f; private int x = 0; GraphicsPanel() { final Entity ent1 = new Entity(); ent1.setBounds(x, 0, ent1.getWidth(), ent1.getHeight()); add(ent1); //ESSENTIAL setLayout(null); //GAMELOOP timer = new Timer(30, new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { getFPS(); incX(); ent1.setLocation(x, 0); repaint(); } }); timer.start(); } public void incX() { x++; } @Override public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g.create(); g2.setClip(0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight()); g2.setColor(Color.BLACK); g2.drawString("FPS: " + fps, 1, 15); } public void getFPS() { ++numFrames; if (startTime == 0) { startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); } else { long currentTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); long delta = (currentTime - startTime); if (delta > 1000) { fps = (numFrames * 1000) / delta; numFrames = 0; startTime = currentTime; } } } } Thank you!

  • Mouse event in Java

    I am trying to move a JComponent say a label over a table.I am tracking this event using MouseMotionListener's mouseDragged method.This method perfectly helps me in tracking the item.Is there a way to track the mouse release after dragging is complete(.ie the dropping event). tktLabel1.addMouseMotionListener(new MouseMotionListener() { public void mouseDragged(MouseEvent arg0) { tktLabel1.setBounds(tktLabel1.getX() + arg0.getX(), tktLabel1.getY() + arg0.getY(), width, height); } public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent arg0) { } });

  • Contact Bubble EditText

    - by toobsco42
    I am trying to create contact bubbles in the MultiAutoCompleteTextView similiar to how it is implemented in the Google+ app. Below is a screen shot: . I have tried to extend the DynamicDrawableSpan class in order to get a spannable drawable in the background of a span of text public class BubbleSpan extends DynamicDrawableSpan { private Context c; public BubbleSpan(Context context) { super(); c = context; } @Override public Drawable getDrawable() { Resources res = c.getResources(); Drawable d = res.getDrawable(R.drawable.oval); d.setBounds(0, 0, 100, 20); return d; } } Where my oval.xml drawable is defined as so: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <shape xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:shape="oval"> <solid android:color="#00000000"/> <stroke android:width="4dp" android:color="#99000000" android:dashWidth="4dp" android:dashGap="2dp" /> <padding android:left="7dp" android:top="7dp" android:right="7dp" android:bottom="7dp" /> <corners android:radius="4dp" /> </shape> In my Activity class that has the MulitAutoCompleteTextView, I set the bubble span like so: final Editable e = tv.getEditableText(); final SpannableStringBuilder sb = new SpannableStringBuilder(); sb.append("some sample text"); sb.setSpan(new BubbleSpan(getApplicationContext()), 0, 6, Spannable.SPAN_EXCLUSIVE_EXCLUSIVE); e.append(sb); However, instead of the oval shape displaying behind the first 6 characters in the string, the characters are not visible and there is no oval drawable in the background. If i change the BubbleSpan's getDrawable() method to use a .png instead of a shape drawable: public Drawable getDrawable() { Resources res = c.getResources(); Drawable d = res.getDrawable(android.R.drawable.bottom_bar); d.setBounds(0, 0, 100, 20); return d; } Then the .png will show up but the characters in the string that are a part of the span will not show up. How can I make it so that the characters in the span are displayed in the foreground, meanwhile a custom shape drawable gets displayed in the background? I attempted to also use an ImageSpan instead of subclassing DynamicDrawableSpan but was unsuccessful.

  • Simple Physics Simulation in java not working.

    - by Static Void Main
    Dear experts, I wanted to implement ball physics and as i m newbie, i adapt the code in tutorial http://adam21.web.officelive.com/Documents/JavaPhysicsTutorial.pdf . i try to follow that as i much as i can, but i m not able to apply all physical phenomenon in code, can somebody please tell me, where i m mistaken or i m still doing some silly programming mistake. The balls are moving when i m not calling bounce method and i m unable to avail the bounce method and ball are moving towards left side instead of falling/ending on floor**, Can some body recommend me some better way or similar easy compact way to accomplish this task of applying physics on two ball or more balls with interactivity. here is code ; import java.awt.*; public class AdobeBall { protected int radius = 20; protected Color color; // ... • LWJGL Java 2D collision when lagging

    - by user1990950
    I'm using a tile based collision, but when the game is lagging (the lag isn't the problem) the collision fails and the player falls through tiles. This is the movement/collision detection code of my Player class: gravity.y = gspeed; speed.y+=gravity.y; position.set(position.x + direction.x * speed.x * deltaSeconds, position.y + direction.y * speed.y * deltaSeconds); for (int i = (int) Math.round(position.x / 32) - 2 * t; i < (int) Math.round(position.x / 32) + 3 * t; i++) { for (int j = (int) Math.round(position.y / 32); j < (int) Math.round((position.y + height + 64) / 32); j++) { checkCollision(i, j, deltaSeconds); } } public void checkCollision(int i, int j, float deltaSeconds) { bbox.setBounds((int) position.x, (int) position.y, (int) width, (int) height); Tile t = null; t = Map.getTile(i, j); if (t != null) { if (t.isSolid()) { if (t.getTop().intersects(bbox)) { if (position.y + height < t.y * 32 + 32) { if (speed.y >= 0) { position.y = t.y * 32 - height; speed.y = 0; gravity.y = 0; jumpState = 0; } } } if (t.getBottom().intersects(bbox)) { if (position.y < t.y * 32 + 32) { position.y = t.y * 32 + 32; speed.y = 0; } } else { if (t.getLeft().intersects(bbox)) { if (position.x + width > t.x * 32) { position.x = t.x * 32 - width; speed.x = 0; } } if (t.getRight().intersects(bbox)) { if (position.x < t.x * 32 + 32) { position.x = t.x * 32 + 32; speed.x = 0; } } } } } } Is it possible to fix my code, if yes how? Or is it possible to tell if the game is lagging?

  • Smooth Camera Zoom Factor Change

    - by Siddharth
    I have game play scene in which user can zoom in and out. For which I used smooth camera in the following manner. public static final int CAMERA_WIDTH = 1024; public static final int CAMERA_HEIGHT = 600; public static final float MAXIMUM_VELOCITY_X = 400f; public static final float MAXIMUM_VELOCITY_Y = 400f; public static final float ZOOM_FACTOR_CHANGE = 1f; mSmoothCamera = new SmoothCamera(0, 0, Constants.CAMERA_WIDTH, Constants.CAMERA_HEIGHT, Constants.MAXIMUM_VELOCITY_X, Constants.MAXIMUM_VELOCITY_Y, Constants.ZOOM_FACTOR_CHANGE); mSmoothCamera.setBounds(0f, 0f, Constants.CAMERA_WIDTH, Constants.CAMERA_HEIGHT); But above thing create problem for me. When user perform zoom in and leave game play scene then other scene behaviour not look good. I already set zoom factor to 1 for this purpose. But now it show camera translation in other scene. Because scene switching time it so much small that player can easily saw translation of camera that I don't want to show. After camera reposition, everything works perfect but how to set camera its proper position. For example my loading text move from bottom to top or vice versa based on camera movement. Any more detail you want then I can able to give you.

  • libGDX using Stage and Actor produces different camera angles on desktop and Android Phone

    libGDX using Stage and Actor produces different camera angles on desktop and Android Phone. Here are pictures demonstrating the problem: http://brandonyuh.minus.com/mFpdTSgN17VUq On the desktop version, the image takes up most all the screen. On the Android phone it only takes up a bit of the screen. Here's the code (not my actual project but I isolated the problem): package com.me.mygdxgame2; import com.badlogic.gdx.*; import com.badlogic.gdx.graphics.*; import com.badlogic.gdx.graphics.Texture.TextureFilter; import com.badlogic.gdx.graphics.g2d.*; import com.badlogic.gdx.scenes.scene2d.*; public class MyGdxGame2 implements ApplicationListener { private Stage stage; public void create() { stage = new Stage(); stage.addActor(new ActorHi()); } public void render() { Gdx.gl.glClearColor(0, 1, 0, 1); Gdx.gl.glClear(GL10.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); stage.draw(); } public void dispose() {} public void resize(int width, int height) {} public void pause() {} public void resume() {} public class ActorHi extends Actor { private Sprite sprite; public ActorHi() { Texture texture = new Texture(Gdx.files.internal("data/hi.png")); texture.setFilter(TextureFilter.Linear, TextureFilter.Linear); sprite = new Sprite(new TextureRegion(texture, 0, 0, 128, 128)); sprite.setBounds(0, 0, 300.0f, 300.0f); } public void draw(SpriteBatch batch, float parentAlpha) { sprite.draw(batch); } } } hi.png is included in the above link Thank you very much for answering my question. • Provide A Scrolling "Camera" View Over A 2D Game Map

    - by BitCrash
    I'm in the process of attempting to create a 2D MMO type game with Kryonet and some basic sprites, mostly for my own learning. I have the back end set up great (By my standards) and I'm moving on to actually getting some things drawn onto the map. I cannot for the life of me figure out a solid way to have a "Camera" follow a player around a large area. The view pane for the game is 640 x 480 pixels, and each tile is 32x32 pixels (Thats 20 tiles wide and 15 high for the viewpane) I have tried a couple things to do this, but they did not seem to work out so well. I had a JScrollPane with 9 "Viewpane"-sized canvases in it, and tried to have the JScrollPane move in accordance with the player. The issue came when I reached the end of the JScrollPane. I tried to "Flip" canvases, sending the canvas currrently drawing the player to the middle of the 9 and load the corresponding maps onto the other ones. It was slow and worked poorly. I'm looking for any advice or previous experience with this; any ideas? Thank you! Edit and Clarification: I did not mean to mention Kryonet, I was merely providing peripheral information in case there was something that would help which I could not foresee. Instead of having an array of 9 canvases, why not just have one large canvas loading a large map every once in a while? I'm willing to have "load times" where as with the canvas array I would have none (in theory) to give the user a smooth experience. I could just change the size and location of the map with a modified setBounds() call on the canvas in a layered pane (layered because I have hidden swing items, like inventories and stuff) I'll try it out and post here how it goes for people asking the same question.

  • Why does windows XP minimize my swing full screen window on my second screen ?

    - by Laurent K
    Hello dear fellows, In the application I'm developping (in Java/swing), I have to show a full screen window on the second screen of the user. I did this using a code similar to the one you'll find below... Be, as soon as I click in a window opened by windows explorer, or as soon as I open windows explorer (i'm using windows XP), the full screen window is minimized... Do you know any way or workaround to fix this problem, or is there something important I did not understand with full screen windows? Thanks for the help, import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.swing.JWindow; import java.awt.BorderLayout; import java.awt.Dimension; import java.awt.GraphicsDevice; import java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment; import java.awt.Window; import javax.swing.JButton; import javax.swing.JToggleButton; import java.awt.Rectangle; import java.awt.GridBagLayout; import javax.swing.JLabel; public class FullScreenTest { private JFrame jFrame = null; // @jve:decl-index=0:visual-constraint="94,35" private JPanel jContentPane = null; private JToggleButton jToggleButton = null; private JPanel jFSPanel = null; // @jve:decl-index=0:visual-constraint="392,37" private JLabel jLabel = null; private Window window; /** * This method initializes jFrame * * @return javax.swing.JFrame */ private JFrame getJFrame() { if (jFrame == null) { jFrame = new JFrame(); jFrame.setSize(new Dimension(474, 105)); jFrame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); jFrame.setContentPane(getJContentPane()); } return jFrame; } /** * This method initializes jContentPane * * @return javax.swing.JPanel */ private JPanel getJContentPane() { if (jContentPane == null) { jContentPane = new JPanel(); jContentPane.setLayout(null); jContentPane.add(getJToggleButton(), null); } return jContentPane; } /** * This method initializes jToggleButton * * @return javax.swing.JToggleButton */ private JToggleButton getJToggleButton() { if (jToggleButton == null) { jToggleButton = new JToggleButton(); jToggleButton.setBounds(new Rectangle(50, 23, 360, 28)); jToggleButton.setText("Show Full Screen Window on 2nd screen"); jToggleButton.addActionListener(new java.awt.event.ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent e) { showFullScreenWindow(jToggleButton.isSelected()); } }); } return jToggleButton; } protected void showFullScreenWindow(boolean b) { if(window==null){ window = initFullScreenWindow(); } window.setVisible(b); } private Window initFullScreenWindow() { GraphicsEnvironment ge = GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment(); GraphicsDevice[] gds = ge.getScreenDevices(); GraphicsDevice gd = gds[1]; JWindow window = new JWindow(gd.getDefaultConfiguration()); window.setContentPane(getJFSPanel()); gd.setFullScreenWindow(window); return window; } /** * This method initializes jFSPanel * * @return javax.swing.JPanel */ private JPanel getJFSPanel() { if (jFSPanel == null) { jLabel = new JLabel(); jLabel.setBounds(new Rectangle(18, 19, 500, 66)); jLabel.setText("Hello !
