  • How to configure a shortcut for an SSH connection through a SSH tunnel

    My company production servers (FOO, BAR...) are located behind two gateway servers (A, B). In order to connect to server FOO, I have to open a ssh connection with server A or B with my username JOHNDOE, then from A (or B) I can access any production server opening a SSH connection with a standard username (let's call it WEBBY). So, each time I have to do something like: ssh johndoe@a ... ssh webby@foo ... # now I can work on the server As you can imagine, this is a hassle when I need to use scp or if I need to quickly open multiple connections. I have configured a ssh key and also I'm using .ssh/config for some shortcuts. I was wondering if I can create some kind of ssh configuration in order to type ssh foo and let SSH open/forward all the connections for me. Is it possible?   • database on SSD: data only or the DBM program too?

    I plan on moving the data I use for statistical analysis (100-ish Gb) onto an SSD. The data is either sqlite single-file db's, or postgresql-managed data. The SSD is 240 Gb, 550 MB/s read and 520 MB/s write. Should I reserve that space for the data only, or would it be a good idea to install the operating system (Mac OS X) and the application directory (Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office and the like) on the SSD too? And would it make a substantial speed difference whether I also install the postgresql binaries on the SSD? I have plenty of other space (another 300Gb hard-drive, and a 1Tb one). Don't know the features of the non-SSD drives, though they're our standard equipment on all Macs, and they're definitely OK. Thanks.

    I just bought a dedicated server on online.net I have a public and a private ip. I installed esxi from their panel and I can connect successfully with my vsphere client. The problem is this: I want to create some instances and I want to give them different private ips. I also want to create some NAT rules to forward all users coming to my public ip port 80 to a specific instance. How can I do that? Thanks

    this is the current network that I have: UBUNTU: eth0: ip: 212.83.10.10 bcast: 212.83.10.10 netmask 255.255.255.255 gateway 62.x.x.x eth1: ip: 192.168.1.1 bcast: 192.168.1.255 netmask: 255.255.255.0 gateway ? CENTOS: eth0: ip: 192.168.1.2 bcast: 192.168.1.255 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 I basically want this: Make specific NAT rules from the internet to specific internal servers depending on the port: Connections incoming to port 80 must be redirected to 192.168.1.2:80 Connections incoming to port 3306 must be redirected to 192.168.1.3:3306 and so on... I also need one NAT rule to allow the servers in the subnet 192.168.1.x to browse the internet. I need to route the requests on eth0 to eth1 to be able to exit to internet. Can I do this on the UBUNTU machine with iptables? Thanks!

    I have an error in my GXT code on Internet Explorer (both Development Mode and not) when i try to attach a label to a panel. The error is "Unknown runtime error number: -2146827687" but this error in a GWT module is throws always, in other gwt modules with a label attached to the panel the error there isn't. The layout of panel is a GridFormLayout developed by me.     Hi, I'm experiencing performance inconsistencies with regards to build duration when building a VS2008 solution file with either devenv or msbuild from command line. My solution contains both C# and C++ projects, and I have these results: devenv.exe (either command line or within the ide): 7 minutes msbuild.exe: 14 minutes I tried tuning the msbuild switches passing /maxcpucount and /p:VCBuildAdditionalOptions=m# but with no luck so far. Any idea?

But, even if in the buffer there are 3 links and the regexp is compiled with the PCRE_CASELESS and PCRE_MULTILINE flags, i match only one element : Match : example_link_1 Note: I start the loop fro index 1 because the pcre library returns the string that matched (not the match itself) as the first element, and the matches follows. What's wrong with this code? The regexp itself i think it's correct (tried in PHP for instance).

I tried with \ just like macros but it does not seem to be accepted by flex :( PS: I don't want to split the rule in more sub-rules, but only split its regex in more lines to keep the code clearer.

    Just a stupid question . I have a std::vector<SomeClass *> v; in my code and i need to access its elements very often in the program, looping them forward and backward . Which is the fastest access type between those two ?     My project (an interpreted language) has a standard library composed by multiple files, each of them will be built into an .so dynamic library that the interpreter will load upon user request (with an import directive). Well, i really can't find any useful documentation online, or at least not the kind i need to implement this, so, how can i use those functions to push arguments onto the stack, call a generic function pointer, obtain the return value and then restore the registers?

    Let's say I have a first structure like this: typedef struct { int ivalue; char cvalue; } Foo; And a second one: typedef struct { int ivalue; char cvalue; unsigned char some_data_block[0xFF]; } Bar; Now let's say I do the following: Foo *pfoo; Bar *pbar; pbar = new Bar; pfoo = (Foo *)pbar; delete pfoo; Now, when I call the delete operator, how much memory does it free? sizeof(int) + sizeof(char) Or sizeof(int) + sizeof(char) + sizeof(char) * 0xFF ? And if it's the first case due to the casting, is there any way to prevent this memory leak from happening? Note: please don't answer "use C++ polymorphism" or similar, I am using this method for a reason.
