  • Is Windows Update deleting Sticky Notes (StikyNot.exe)?

    I got a Windows 7 computer for Christmas and I like the Sticky Notes application. But twice now, the sticky notes have disappeared after an automatic Windows Update. I managed to navigate system restore and recover them, but it was a pain. The update seems to be deleting StikyNot.exe, but I haven't been able to find any info on why. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas how to prevent it from happening again?

    I'm working on a site with a Sticky sidebar (fixed position under certain conditions, etc) that is working fine in Chrome & Safari, but breaks in Firefox.   • Fixing sticky keys without removing the keys?

    Hello, we had an E-Machine netbook brought in today that has sticky keys. (don't ask me why we said we'd fix it) Well, I've looked at a few howtos for fixing it, but they all require removing the keys. When I tried to remove the keys, I got the key to like a 45 degree angle and it still didn't budge, so I'm pretty sure the keys are non-removable. Is it common for places to even be able to find a replacement keyboard for netbooks and is there a way to fix sticky keys without removing the keys?

  • Where does Windows Vista's Notes gadget store your notes?

    I like to use the default notes gadget in Windows Vista, and I want to synchronize my notes between my PC and my laptop. I'm going to use Dropbox, so I just need to know where does the gadget store my notes. I looked inside the Appdata folder and couldn't find the actual notes (only configuration files). Where are they? They have to be stored somewhere, since they are saved even if you close the sidebar.

  • Outlook Notes replacement or alternatives?

    I save my notes in Outlook notes. However it's just a list of notes without any kind of categorization. I am looking for a replacement software where I can define my categories and I can place a note in one the categories. Plus the ability to search text across all the notes. I prefer an Outlook plugin but a small quick launch app will do.

    On September 14, 2012 ZDNet blogger Joe McKendrick published Why IT is a Profession in Flux, a short article in which he makes the observation that "IT professionals are under considerable pressure to deliver more value to the business, versus being good at coding and testing and deploying and integrating." I forwarded that article to my list of Usual Suspects (the nearly 40 people who have participated in the podcast over the last 3 years), along with a suggestion that I wanted to put together a panel discussion to further explore the issue. This podcast is the result. As it happened, three of the people who responded to my query were in San Francisco for Oracle OpenWorld, as was I, so I seized the rare opportunity for a face to face conversation.   • Lotus Notes "Format painter" or Quick access to fonts.

    I got Lotus Notes 7.0.3 at my job and I miss the "format painter" to copy the style in my mails. Does it exist? If not, the biggest problems I got are when I paste text form another program. The style is imported and I don't like that. I got to search for the "Default sans serif" font (witch is somewhere in the middle of the font list, another annoying thing). Basically, I use "Default sans serif" for text and "Default Monospace" for code. Is there a way to put them at the top of the font list of to get a quick access to them, or maybe in a toolbar or something?

  • Pfsense: Inbound Load Balancing https with sticky connection

    first of all I'm very sorry for my English... This is my scenario: Internet Firewall+LB: pfsense_1(Active) + pfsense_2(Passive) in CARP Pool servers: 3 x nginx(PHP5+HTTP+HTTPS) Pfsense 1 and 2 CARP configured with Virtual IP (pubblic). Nginx servers's ips are all private. I want to load balance inbound HTTP and HTTPS connections between the 3 nginx web servers. An importat thing is that the HTTPS connections must be "sticky connections": in HTTPS connections, after login by username and password, I setup a php session and therefore when a client starts a HTTPS connection it will be always redirected to the same nginx server, until it disconnects itself, it closes the page/browser or after a timeout (30minutes?) without activity. Is this possible whit the last release(2.0.1) of pfsense? thank you very much...

Also, in what way does your tool of choice store its data. All compact in some directory which can easily be moved from one computer to the other, or on the net, or spread out into thousands of files.
