  • svn using nginx Commit failed: path not found

    - by Alaa Alomari
    I have built svn server on my nginx webserver. my nginx configuration is server { listen 80; server_name svn.mysite.com; location / { access_log off; proxy_pass http://svn.mysite.com:81; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; } location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; include fastcgi_params; } } Now, i can svn co and svn up normally without having any problem and when i try to commit i get error: $svn up At revision 1285. $ svn info Path: . • Get svn revision without an appropriate svn binary installed

    - by Sridhar Ratnakumar
For some reason, we can't update the SVN in some build machines. Installed svn version is 1.3.x. But Hudson slave used 1.6 to create a checkout. This means we can't run "svn info" on those checkouts: $ svnversion subversion/libsvn_wc/questions.c:110: (apr_err=155021) svn: This client is too old to work with working copy '.'; please get a newer Subversion client $ svn info subversion/libsvn_wc/questions.c:110: (apr_err=155021) svn: This client is too old to work with working copy '.'; please get a newer Subversion client $ My question, is there a way to access the revision number without having to invoking the svn binary? You know, like trying to look into the .svn/ directory? Assume that the checkout is using latest svn version (1.6).

  • Can't create directory named "mysql" in subversion repository

    - by High Ball
    I have a particular problem with subversion. Environment: subversion (1.6.12dfsg-6), apache2 (2.2.16-6+squeeze7) + mod dav_svn. I can't create a directory named "mysql" or "testmysql" or add and commit a file named "mysql.txt" in my repository. There are many references to "subversion PROPSET 403 forbidden" problems in google and so on. But I can use all functions of subversion. I can also create a directory named "hugo" or "test". My repository works properly. Only "mysql" doesn't work. The following errors occur: The server encountered an unexpected return value (403 Forbidden) in response to the request for MKCOL »/svn/repository/!svn/wrk/8123484e-8890-412d-92ed-62ceabcd4189 /etc/mysql" returned /var/log/apache2/access.log 192.168.178.200 - - [time] "OPTIONS /svn/repository/etc HTTP/1.1" 401 6156 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "OPTIONS /svn/repository/etc HTTP/1.1" 200 1028 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "MKACTIVITY /svn/repository/!svn/act/6564e2e2-19be-4a09-bcb6-61a1cfb097e8 HTTP/1.1" 201 676 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "PROPFIND /svn/repository/etc HTTP/1.1" 207 676 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "CHECKOUT /svn/repository/!svn/vcc/default HTTP/1.1" 201 692 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "PROPPATCH /svn/repository/!svn/wbl/6564e2e2-19be-4a09-bcb6-61a1cfb097e8/157 HTTP/1.1" 207 580 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "PROPFIND /svn/repository/etc HTTP/1.1" 207 564 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "CHECKOUT /svn/repository/!svn/ver/157/etc HTTP/1.1" 201 692 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "MKCOL /svn/repository/!svn/wrk/6564e2e2-19be-4a09-bcb6-61a1cfb097e8/etc/mysql HTTP/1.1" 403 596 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" 192.168.178.200 - user1 [time] "DELETE /svn/repository/!svn/act/6564e2e2-19be-4a09-bcb6-61a1cfb097e8 HTTP/1.1" 204 165 "-" "SVN/1.6.12 (r955767) neon/0.29.3" Has anyone seen this before? • Git-svn refuses to create branch on svn repository error: "not in the same repository"

    - by Danny
I am attempting to create a svn branch using git-svn. The repository was created with --stdlayout. Unfortunately it generates an error stating the "Source and dest appear not to be in the same repository". The error appears to be the result of it not including the username in the source url. $ git svn branch foo-as-bar -m "Attempt to make Foo into Bar." Copying svn+ssh://my.foo.company/r/sandbox/foo/trunk at r1173 to svn+ssh://[email protected]/r/sandbox/foo/branches/foo-as-bar... Trying to use an unsupported feature: Source and dest appear not to be in the same repository (src: 'svn+ssh://my.foo.company/r/sandbox/foo/trunk'; dst: 'svn+ssh://[email protected]/r/sandbox/foo/branches/foo-as-bar') at /home/me/.install/git/libexec/git-core/git-svn line 610 I intially thought this was simply a configuration issue, examination of .git/config doesn't suggest anything incorrect. [svn-remote "svn"] url = svn+ssh://[email protected]/r fetch = sandbox/foo/trunk:refs/remotes/trunk branches = sandbox/foo/branches/*:refs/remotes/* tags = sandbox/foo/tags/*:refs/remotes/tags/* I am using git version 1.6.3.3. Can anyone shed any light on why this might be occuring, and how best to address it?

  • Best way to fork SVN project with Git

    - by Jeremy Thomerson
I have forked an SVN project using Git because I needed to add features that they didn't want. But at the same time, I wanted to be able to continue pulling in features or fixes that they added to the upstream version down into my fork (where they don't conflict). So, I have my Git project with the following branches: master - the branch I actually build and deploy from feature_* - feature branches where I work or have worked on new things, which I then merge to master when complete vendor-svn - my local-only git-svn branch that allows me to "git svn rebase" from their svn repo vendor - my local branch that i merge vendor-svn into. then i push this (vendor) branch to the public git repo (github) So, my flow is something like this: git checkout vendor-svn git svn rebase git checkout vendor git merge vendor-svn git push origin vendor Now, the question comes here: I need to review each commit that they made (preferably individually since at this point I'm about twenty commits behind them) before merging them into master. I know that I could run git checkout master; git merge vendor, but this would pull in all changes and commit them, without me being able to see if they conflict with what I need. So, what's the best way to do this? Git seems like a great tool for handling forks of projects since you can pull and push from multiple repos - I'm just not experienced with it enough to know the best way of doing this. Here's the original SVN project I'm talking about: https://appkonference.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/appkonference My fork is at github.com/jthomerson/AsteriskAudioKonf (sorry - I couldn't make it a link since I'm a new user here)

  • svn connection timeout

    - by Tom celic
I have Ubuntu 12.04 running in virtual box inside Windows 7. I have the network adapter set as NAT and everything networking wise seems to be running smoothly (internet / git ect.). However, for some reason, svn always times out when i.e michael@michael-VirtualBox:~/Documents/deleteme$ svn co svn://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/trunk/ svn: Can't connect to host 'svn.openwrt.org': Connection timed out Somebody suggested to me that I might need to change what ports svn uses. Does anybody have any idea how to diagnose / solve the problem? Thanks!

  • svn-based versioning tool, problem with network timeout

    - by Scarlet
My dev team was committed a versioning tool based on Subversion to run on Windows (our svn client is sliksvn). We're developing with Delphi XE2, should that matter. We're asked to implement a "check for updates availability" feature, which has to work as follows: Connect to the SVN repo via svn+ssh protocol; See if there are changes to receive and list them; Let the user decide if he wants to receive changes or not. We don't have a great knowledge on svn, so we thought to implement that thing client side by a certain number of CreateProcess calls that wrap directly proper svn commands. Anyways what we perceived is that if network problems should arise, such like a connection drop, svn client hangs forever waiting for the operation to close instead of failing for timeout. We know that CreateProcess can be given a timeout argument, but it wouldn't be correct to use it, as we can't know from outside how long will be the svn operation taking to complete. Is there any way to avoid that deadlock?

  • Tracking upstream svn changes with git-svn and github?

    - by Joseph Turian
How do I track upstream SVN changes using git-svn and github? I used git-svn to convert an SVN repo to git on github: $ git svn clone -s http://svn.osqa.net/svnroot/osqa/ osqa $ cd osqa $ git remote add origin [email protected]:turian/osqa.git $ git push origin master I then made a few changes in my git repo, committed, and pushed to github. Now, I am on a new machine. I want to take upstream SVN changes, merge them with my github repo, and push them to my github repo. This documentation says: "If you ever lose your local copy, just run the import again with the same settings, and you’ll get another working directory with all the necessary SVN metainfo." So I did the following. But none of the commands work as desired. How do I track upstream SVN changes using git-svn and github? What am I doing wrong? $ git svn clone -s http://svn.osqa.net/svnroot/osqa/ osqa $ cd osqa $ git remote add origin [email protected]:turian/osqa.git $ git push origin master To [email protected]:turian/osqa.git ! • Connect to SVN repository with Netbeans using SVN+SSH

    - by shuby_rocks
Hello all, I am trying to connect to a SVN server in order to import my project into it with svn+ssh authentication method. I am using the NetBeans IDE (6.8) with subversion plugin installed on Windows XP SP2. I have plink installed with its path set in the Windows PATH env variable. When I use the similar looking repository URL (XXXX and YYYY replaced with sensible things) svn+ssh://XXXX@YYYY/home/dce/svn/trunk along with this external tunnel command plink -l <myUserName> -i C:\\privateKey.ppk I keep getting this error: org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: Network connection closed unexpectedly I searched about it on the Internet and tried many things but didn't work out. Please help if anybody has some idea what may be going wrong. Thanks a lot in advance.

  • SVN help:: svn: invalid option: --trust-server-cert

    - by JP19
Hi, I want to bypass certificate checking. I tried using svn --trust-server-cert update, but I get an error, svn: invalid option: --trust-server-cert. I am on ubuntu and the svn version is 1.5.4. Is there any other way to bypass the certificate? Ubuntu won't automatically update my svn to 1.6.xx, which I think has this option. (In any case, I have heard that 1.6.xx has compatibility problems with some apache modules so is not fully safe to install?). Anyone with a suggestion? Thanks JP

  • Problems with apache svn server (403 Forbidden)

Iv recently setup a SVN server on my papache webserver. I installed USVN http://www.usvn.fr/ to help manage the repositories from a web interface. I have tested with changing file permissions and changing the configuration with no luck. Thanks in advance!

  • cannot commit svn with dav on ubuntu

So there are several similar questions on serverfault ... but the solution is still eluding me. I am running subversion on ubuntu 9.04 .. through apache2.2.x .... i get Commit failed (details follow): Can't make directory '/home/kirb/svn/dav/activities.d': Permission denied when i attempt to commit. It is deffinitely a permissions issue... but how to fix it is still eluding me. my repository is in /home/kirb/svn. http://serverfault.com/questions/61573/svn-commit-error says to chgrp .. but i dont seem to be able to. all the apache dav stuff seems to be working though. I can access my repository just fine through a browser. apologies if i am missing something simple here. • SVN Authentication with LDAP and Active Directory

    - by Alex Holsgrove
I am having a few problems getting SVN authentication to work with LDAP / Active Directory. My SVN installation works fine, but after enabling LDAP in my apache vhost, I just can't get my users to authenticate. I can use a selection of LDAP browsers to successfully connect to Active Directory, but just can't seem to get this to work. SVN is setup in /var/local/svn Server is svn.domain.local For testing, my repository is /var/local/svn/test My vhost file is as follows: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerAlias svn.domain.local ServerName svn.domain.local DocumentRoot /var/www/svn/ <Location /test> DAV svn #SVNListParentPath On SVNPath /var/local/svn/test AuthzSVNAccessFile /var/local/svn/svnaccess AuthzLDAPAuthoritative off AuthType Basic AuthName "SVN Server" AuthBasicProvider ldap AuthLDAPBindDN "CN=adminuser,OU=SBSAdmin Users,OU=Users,OU=MyBusiness,DC=domain,DC=local" AuthLDAPBindPassword "admin password" AuthLDAPURL "ldap://192.168.1.6:389/OU=SBSUsers,OU=Users,OU=MyBusiness,DC=domain,DC=local?sAMAccountName?sub?(objectClass=*)" Require valid-user </Location> CustomLog /var/log/apache2/svn/access.log combined ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/svn/error.log </VirtualHost> In my error.log, I don't seem to get any bind errors (should I be looking elsewhere?), but just the following: [Thu Jun 21 09:51:38 2012] [error] [client 192.168.1.142] user alex: authentication failure for "/test/": Password Mismatch, referer: http://svn.domain.local/test/ At the end of "AuthLDAPURL", I have seen people using TLS and NONE but neither seem to help in my case. I have the ldap modules loaded and have checked as much as I know, so any help would be most welcome. Thanks

  • svn 503 error when commit new files

    - by philipp
I am struggling with a strange error when I try to commit my repository. I have a V-server with webmin installed on it. Via Webmin I installed an svn module, created repositories and everything worked fine until three days ago. Trying to commit brings the following error: Commit failed (details follow): Server sent unexpected return value (503 Service unavailable) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/rle/!svn/wrk/a1f963a7-0a33-fa48-bfde-183ea06ab958/RLE/.htaccess' Server sent unexpected return value (503 Service unavailable) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/rle/RLE/.htaccess' I google everywhere and found only very few solutions. One indicated that a wrong error document is set, another one dealt about the problem that filenames might cause this error and last but not least a wrong proxy configuration in the local svn config could be the reason. After trying all of the solutions suggested I could not reach anything. Only after a server reboot there was a little difference in the error-message, telling me that the server was not able to move a temp file, because the operation was permitted. So I also controlled the permissions of the svn directory, but also with no success. An svn update than restored the "normal" error from above and nothing changed since then. The only change I made on the server, I guess that this could be the reason why svn does not work anymore, was to install the php5_mysql module for apache via apt-get install php5_mysql. Atg the moment I have totally no idea where I could search. I don't know if the problem is on my server or in my repository and I would be glad to get any hint to solve this. Thanks in advance Greetings philipp error log: [Tue Oct 25 19:23:02 2011] [error] [client 217.50.254.18] Could not create activity /svn/rle/!svn/act/d8dd436f-d014-f047-8e87-01baac46a593. I think this is part of the repository. So, I just just want to admit that i tried to reach the repository via Browser and i worked, I could see everything, so the error only occurs when I try to commit new files. I also created a second repository and tried to commit files in there, what gave me the same error.

  • SVN Export or Recursively Remove .SVN Folders

    - by Ben Griswold
I shared this script with a coworker yesterday. It doesn’t do much; it recursively deletes .svn folders from a source tree.  It comes in handy if you want to share your codebase or you get in a terrible spot with SVN and you just want to start all over. Just blow away all svn artifacts and use your mulligan. It’s true. You can nearly get the same result using the SVN export command which copies your source sans the .svn folders to an alternate location.  The catch is an export only includes those files/folders which exist under version control.  If you want a clean copy of your source – versioned or not – export just might not do. The contents of the .cmd file include the following: for /f "tokens=* delims=" %%i in (’dir /s /b /a:d *.svn’) do ( rd /s /q "%%i" ) Just download and drop the unzipped “SVN Cleanup.cmd” file into the root of the project, execute and away you go.  If you search around enough, I know you can find similar scripts and approaches elsewhere, but I’m still uploading my script for completeness and future reference. Download SVN Cleanup

  • SVN: Error validating server certificate for svn hook linux

The Post-Commit will update the web dir so the App in PHP can be executed with the newest version. It all works when done over shell. • Is SVN out of style?

    - by jitbit
It's been only several years since I migrated from Visual Source Safe to SVN. And SVN for me is still kinda "WOW! I can do so many things! SVN is so cool!" But many people around me keep saying "SVN? Really? Meh..." And there's so many of them that I'm worried. Should I move my team to Git / Mercurial or some other fancy thing? I know I sound ridiculous and the obvious answer would be "stay with what works for YOU". SVN does work for me... But every time I create a new project in my repository I keep asking myself - may be this was the time to move? So... Is SVN really that bad? Do I miss a huge opportunity by sticking with it?

  • SVN client too old after I used sshfs

    - by johnlai2004
I have a svn checked out web application on a shared hosting linux server. The linux server has an svn client that I can access via ssh. From my localhost, I did the following > sshfs [email protected]:webappdir/ /media/webapp > cd /media/webapp > svn update svn: Working copy '.' locked svn: run 'svn cleanup' to remove locks (type 'svn help cleanup' for details) > svn clean up It's been 15 minutes and the svn clean up still isn't finished. I think it may have froze. So then I did the following: > ssh [email protected] > cd webappdir > svn update svn: This client is too old to work with working copy '.'; please get a newer Subversion client So now I can't update my webappdir because my /media/webapp is stuck on svn clean up, and my shared hosting server's svn client is out of date. I don't have privileges to install a new svn client on the shared hosting server. How do I get my svn update to work?

  • Odd SVN Checkout failures occur frequenctly on VMWare virtual machines

    - by snowballhg
We've recently been experiencing seemingly random SVN checkout failures on our Hudson build system. Google search has failed me; I'm hoping the super user community can help me out :-) We are occasionally receiving the following SVN error when our Hudson build jobs checkout source via the Hudson Subversion plug-in (which uses svn kit): ERROR: Failed to check out http://server/svnroot/trunk org.tmatesoft.svn.core.SVNException: svn: Processing REPORT request response failed: XML document structures must start and end within the same entity. (/svnroot/!svn/vcc/default) svn: REPORT request failed on '/svnroot/!svn/vcc/default' This issue seems to only occur when checking out from our Virtual Machines (Windows XP, Fedora 9, Fedora 12) using Hudson's SVN Plug-in. Systems that use the traditional SVN client seem to work. SVN Server version: 1.6.6 Hudson version: 1.377 Hudson SVN Plugin Version: 1.17 Has anyone dealt with this issue, or have any suggestions? Thanks

  • Git-svn branch hoses dcommit when using an odd branch structure

    - by Chuck Vose
I had a boss, past-tense, who decided to put svn branches in the same folder as trunk. Normally, this wouldn't affect me that much but since I'm using git-svn things are going so well. After I did a fetch it created a folder for each branch in my root folder so I have three folders, drupal, trunk, and client. The drupal folder is git's master branch, client and trunk are the svn branches. Merging and committing works great, in fact everything git related is working superb. However dcommit is totally hosed, it's trying to commit a folder called client and one called trunk. I can't even imagine what havoc this would cause for svn later on. So my question is, what have I done wrong in my .git/config and is there anything I can do to fix this or am I going to have to suffer and go back to using svn? Please don't make me go back. I don't think I can take it anymore. Bastard boss knows how to leave a legacy. [svn-remote "svn"] url = https://svn.mydomain.com/svn/project_name fetch = trunk:refs/remotes/trunk branches = *:refs/remotes/* tags = tags/*:refs/remotes/tags/* Normally the branches line would look like this (when using --stdlayout): branches = branches/*:refs/remotes/branches/* ls output is thus: $ ls client/ docs/ drupal/ sql/ trunk/
