  • PLS HLP Chrome & Internet Explorer won't connect after infected Fire Fox works.

    HI Guys Please Help I am pretty New Here. I'm having problems. Cannot connect with chrome or Internet Explorer. Fire Fox works fine. It seems it happens when I was infected by a "Trojan Horse Generic 17.BWIK" and a "Trojan Horse SHeur.UHL", when I reply to a post for a Thread I posted. I have removed the treat and got Fire Fox working, "so i think", but not G'Chrome or IE still cannot connect. I do not want to loose Chrome History so re-setting would be my last option and uninstall and install will be out of the question. Is there a way around this? I am using XP Pro on a desktop and DSL connection. Be aware from "Fake_Antispyware.FAH", which I had on my computer, I just found out while doing this, according to my AVG anti-virus security. Please can you direct me for a cure. Thank you in advance for your sincere willingness contributions.

  • .NET Framework 1.1 on IIS 7

    I have inherited a .NET Framework 1.1 web site that I must host with IIS 7 on Windows Server 2008. I'm having some trouble. 1. Installation I installed .NET Framework 1.1 following these instructions. The installation automatically created a new Application Pool "ASP.NET 1.1". I use that. 2. Trouble When I launch the web site I see web.config runtime errors: The tag contains an invalid value for the 'culture' attribute. I fix that one and then see: Child nodes are not allowed. I don't want to keep playing this whack-a-mole game. Something must be wrong. 3. Am I sure this is .NET 1.1? I examine the automatically created application pool. I see that it's 1.1. Advanced Settings... Basic Settings... This doesn't seem right. While 1.1 is set, it's not an option in the Advanced drop down selectors. And why in the Basic box is it just "v1.1" and not ".NET Framework v1.1.4322"? That would be more consistent. 4. I cannot create other .NET 1.1 App Pools I cannot select .NET Framework 1.1 for other application pools. It's not an option in the drop down selectors. What's up with that? What now? Why isn't v1.1 an option for all AppPools? How can I verify my application is in fact using .NET Framework 1.1? Why might I get these runtime errors?

I can't: Awaken it with the keyboard Awaken it with the mouse Soft power-off by pressing the power button I have to hold down the power button and shut it down that way, and this seems a little unreasonable. Is there a place I could look for more detail as to what's causing this? Is there a known quick-fix to this issue?

  • Linux Uninstalling errors

    I want to uninstall back-track 5 so I deleted the partitions for back-track os. After deleting the partition that used to be for back-track becomes free space as in picture. But I can't delete that partition nor creating a new partition. I used G-Parted from hiren boot cd but it says there is no partition table, you need to create a partition table. But actually I have 5 partitions already. And I thought of restarting might fix it. But after showing post screen my laptop show grub error. I don't know what to do, and I tried to install back-track again to fix the problem but it also says that i do not have any partitions. I can only boot windows by passing through hiren boot cd. But most of the time My computer is not recognizing the external dvd drive, nor the internal so i have to restart again and again, hoping to catch the time computer recognize the dvd drive. Can I change the boot loader to correct the grub error? SOLVED : I have solved the grub error by writing MBR again by using EasyBCD But I still have the format error.

  • unable to destroy windows 2008 r2 failover cluster after SAN rebuild

    I created a windows 2008 r2 failover cluster for a sql 2008 active/passive cluster. This two node cluster was using a SAN device for a quorum disk resource as well as MSDTC resource. Well....I decided to reconfigure the SAN device, but I didn't destroy the cluster first. Now that the quorum disk and mstdc disk are completely gone, the cluster is obviously not working. But, I can't even destroy the cluster and start again. I've tried from the Windows Clustering tool, as well as the command line. I was able to get the cluster service to start using the "/fixquorum" parameter. After doing this I was able to remove the passive node from the cluster, but it wouldn't let me destroy the cluster because the default resource group and msdtc are still attached as resources. I tried to delete these resources from both the GUI tool, as well as command line. It will either freeze for several minutes and crash the program, or once it even BSOD'd the server. Can someone advise on how to destroy this cluster so I can start over?

  • Reducing video mode switching during Linux boot

    When I boot up my desktop computer, which only has Linux on it, the video mode and/or console font gets switched four times: When GRUB starts, it switches from 80x25 text to a graphical mode so it can draw a pretty background behind its menu; GRUB then goes back to 80x25 text after I pick something from the menu; When the KMS driver for my video card loads, it switches to a much higher-resolution text mode (I don't know if this is a hardware text mode or not); Finally X starts and it goes graphics and stays that way. I think this last switch does not change the resolution of the video mode, only the graphicalness. I'd like to get rid of as many of these mode switches as possible. Ideally, when GRUB takes over from the BIOS it would go directly to the same high-resolution text mode that the KMS driver selects, and the display would stay in that mode till X starts and brings up graphics. I am under the impression that this is possible by mucking with the kernel command line and/or the GRUB console module load parameters, but I don't know the details. GRUB 1.98+20100706, kernel 2.6.32.15 using Nouveau video drivers. Distro is Debian unstable. Please no answers that involve recompiling anything or cobbling together bleeding-edge kernel/driver combinations, I don't care enough about this to go to that much trouble. EDIT: Tobu suggests setting GRUB_GFXMODE to the full pixel resolution of the monitor, and GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep to avoid the mode switch after the menu goes away. This does part of what I want, but winds up being worse overall. There's no mode switch after the menu, but there's still a painfully-slow screen repaint (I should probably just give up on GRUB's gfxmode, it's waaaay too slow at 1920x1200). It will freeze for about a minute and then resume like normal for several more minutes before freezing again.     I cannot connect to the internet with Chrome or Internet Explorer. Firefox works fine.   • Pixelated PDF in Apple Preview slideshow mode, but not in regular window

    I have a PDF which is a presentation exported from OpenOffice. Two of the slides in this presentation have embedded .eps graphs. When I run the presentation using Preview's slideshow mode, the graphs are severely aliased and the axes are illegible. But when I just view the PDF in regular windowed mode, the graphs are properly antialiased and legible. Is there any way to get Preview to do the same display that it does in windowed mode, but in fullscreen (no window title, no menu bar)? (I don't want to just run the presentation from OpenOffice, because OpenOffice shows the same horrible aliasing effects plus it takes about 30 seconds to show the slide. I don't have, and don't want, Acrobat or MS Office. However, please do feel free to suggest other programs for doing PDF-based slideshows.)

    Acer service center created recovery discs for my acer laptop. And they also created a partition in which contains the data from recovery discs. I can see that partition from disk management only. But how do I boot from it? Some months ago I have linux os installed. So when the laptop boot up I can see that partition. But not Now. How to boot from it? I can't see that drive when i press F12. F2 = enter BIOS setup F8 = Boot in safe mode F12 = choose the boot drive

  • Automatically Connecting to Hidden SSID WiFi Network

    My MacBook Pro will not automatically connect to a Wireless network with a hidden SSID. It makes me select the "Join Other Network..." in the Airport menu (in the system tray), where I need to input the name of the network, then security type, password and wait for it to connect. This is becoming increasingly annoying to have to do every time I come back to my desk. I'm running Mac OS X 10.5 and there doesn't seem to be an option to connect to a specific network, but rather "Preferred Networks." The only network I have set as Preferred that's in range is my home network, and it still doesn't automatically connect. Making the network publicly visible isn't under my control, so I'm stuck with what's currently in place. Reader's Digest version: How do I make my MacBook Pro automatically connect to a WiFi Network with a hidden SSID without having to "configure" it every time I want to connect?

  • What is the difference between running a Windows service vs. running through shell?

    I am trying to troubleshoot an issue on a Windows 2008 server where running attempting to connect to a "Timberline Data Source" ODBC driver crashes if the call is in a "service" context, but succeeds if the call is initiated manually in a Remote Desktop session. I have set the service to run as my user. I'm wondering if, all else being equal (user, machine, etc), are there any fundamental security/environment differences between running a process as a service vs manually? --- Implementation Details --- In case it is helpful for anyone, I had a system that started as an attempt to connect to a Timberline Database using ODBC and a Python CGI script called via IIS 7. The script itself works fine, however, as soon as I attempt to perform the ODBC connect function, the script crashes without throwing an exception. The script was able to connect fine when executed via command line. The same thing happened when using a C#/.net service, attempting to run via Apache, Windows Scheduler or even a 3rd party scheduling tool. With the last option (the 3rd party scheduling tool, pycron) I set the service up log in as my user and had the same issue (I confirmed via Task Manager that the process running user was, in fact, me). It just doesn't make sense to me why a service, which should be running as my user, appears to still be operating in a different security context or environment. Also, if it's important, the Timberline database is referenced by computer name on the network ("\\timberline-server\Timberline Office\Accounts\AT" or something to that effect) I also realized that, as Joel pointed out, the server DOES have a mapped drive ("Y:" which is mapped to "\\timberline-server\Timberline Office") The DSN is set up at the "System DSN" level which, according to the ODBC Administration Tool, means that the DSN is available to users and services Since I'm not allowed to answer this question yet, I'll post the solution that I arrived on: As Joel Coel mentioned, there actually was a mapped drive scenario. I didn't realize this because the DSN specified a path using UNC. However, it seems as though the actual Timberline Driver referred to a mapped drive. Since services don't start with the mapped drive, I was forced to add the drive mapping code into my service. Since it was written in python, I used code from a Stackoverflow answer that was able to map the drive on the fly.

Is there a way to "ban" a program from this list so that--no matter how much I use it--it will never pop in there again?

    What's wrong with this code? It works in IE and FireFox, but Chrome does not work. The idea is that the function fnTimeOut will be triggered in 5 seconds after onmousemove. It´s ok. But when, in Chrome, I click on the button "ok" to function fnAlert is triggered instantly.     Am facing a bit of trouble getting the 'combined fragment' to sit above an activation (in a sequence diagram). On adding a 'combined fragment' (loop/alt/opt etc) to a section of the sequence diagram, the label and the guard condition appear 'under' the activation block and hence is obscured. Any idea how to fix this?

    I'm using a class that extends BytecodeScanningDetector to check for some problematic fields in a class. After detecting whether the field is problematic, I add it to the bug report like below: Once I run findbugs, it identifies the bug, lists it in the left pane, but does not highlight the corresponding source line.   • Carrier Wave not completing upload to Rackspace Cloud Files

    Hello, I have been attempting to get file uploads to Rackspace Cloud Files online all night, and finally tried the Carrierwave Plugin. Although the plugin worked right away, when I tried viewing the file uploaded (an image) it was broken. Upon further testing, I found out that files would upload to Cloud Files, however were just a fraction of their original size.   • the MVCC effect on migration from oracle to db2

    I have a simple (actually simplified :) ) scenario that is possibly the cause for the headache I've been having for the last few days... My current application (that serves 100's of users) currently uses Oracle as the database. I have no stored procs (I wish actually). Now, I've been asked if the product will work if I migrate to IBM DB2 as the database. So, after taking Oracle for granted all this while.... and having re-read Tom's article on MVCC (Multiversion Concurrency Control) and going through this post stating that DB2 is not 'on the list' or 'just tip-toeing in the area' as it were... I know I can't be sure that the product will work with DB2 as is. Is there no hope.. or is there a nice disclaimer I could use.. ?

    Hello, I am working on a jQuery-based todo list interface, and have hit a bit of a wall. For reference, thereason I have alerts in the jQuery is for debugging. The reason I can tell the code isn't working is because I am not getting these alerts. Thanks.
