• Favicon on gmail has changed from the envelope to a black gun. How do i change it back and why did i

  I think my gmail account might have been hacked because I've recently noticed a change in the favicon displayed in the url and the tab, when I logged onto my gmail account. It used to be the common red and white envelope and now it's a black gun. Can anyone tell if this is enough to conclude that my account has been hacked or tampered with? I know someone that would be capable and most probably willing to cause problems to my account among other things. This would be my opsessive ex who's best friend is a hacker. Can anyone help? I need to know if someone has reigns to my computer. And how do I change the favicon back to its orginial image? The black gun really bothers me. Thanks everyone!!!

• Why does my computer show a black screen when booting into Windows Vista?

  Today, I removed some old software from dad's vista, and installed SP1. After which the computer restarted and it went into a "black" screen. I left it running for a few hours, and the laptop was really hot. I tried to get into safemode, start from last known good start up, but nothing seemed to work. i know it stops after loading \windows\system32\drivers\cplir.sys what's going on and how can I fix his computer? Update I'm still unable to fix my install. Repair and restoring the OS fail. The laptop has the vista partition built into it. I can't boot through a USB, and my other computer doesn't have a cd/dvd writer Update 2 I tried chkdisk /f and although it fixed some errors, I still get the black screen of death.

When testing on a Nexus One, when scrolling down to read through the text, a black highlight appears over the text and makes it unreadable. However any notifications I receive from notify-osd (including pidgin, notify-send etc) are sent to the top-most part of the right monitor screen, which results it in being invisible. And here's a pic of my monitor preferences : I'd earlier used the Wallpaper plugin in compiz to stitch my desktops, and then uninstalled compiz-extras. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 in classic mode.

  I have a ViewSonic VA912b 19" display I use as a secondary monitor. When I turn it on, the power light is green for a few seconds, and then switches to blinking green. The display stays black. Windows thinks the monitor is on, as it shows up in the control panel as a second monitor. If I unplug the DVI cable, it displays a "No Signal" message and the power light goes to amber, which means it went to sleep.

They are quite simply light grey buttons with a slightly darker outer border: input.button { background: #eee; border: 1px solid #ccc; } This looks just right in Firefox, Safari and Opera. The problem is with Internet Explorer, both 6 and 7. Since the form is the first one on the page, it's counted as the main form - and thus active from the get go. The first submit button in the active form receives a solid black border in IE, to mark it as the main action. If I turn off borders, then the black extra border in IE goes away too. I am looking for a way to keep my normal borders, but remove the outline.

  Hi I am using a BlacX Duet HDD Docking Station to connect a 1TB WD Caviar Black SATA HDD (WD10000LSRTL) and a HITACHI SATA DESKSTAR (0S00163) to my G51VX (BestBuy) laptop via the eSATA port. When I plug in both HDDs in to the Docking Station, connect the docking station to my laptop and start Windows 7 (64-bit Ultimate), only the HDD in the first drive in the port actually shows up in My Computer and Disk Management. If I swap the drives positions I can get them both to work, but never at the same time. I also checked in the bios settings on the laptop, under Advanced-IDE Configuration-SATA Operation Mode, and it displays: SATA Operation Mode: [Enhanced] AHCI Port0 [Hard Disk] Device: Hard Disk Vendor: ST9320421AS LBA Mode: Supported S.M.A.R.T.: Supported AHCI Port5 [Hard Disk] Device: Hard Disk Vendor: Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 Size: 100.00 GB LBA Mode: Supported S.M.A.R.T.: Supported There should be a third drive, but I'm not certain why it is not being picked up. Additionally, before I played around with the settings in the IDE configuration, it used to display the DVD as well.

  I've got two monitors. When I play a full screen game in my primary monitor, the second monitor still shows the Windows desktop. How can I black out the second monitor so that it doesn't show anything at all? My graphics card is from ATI. I'm running Windows 7 in Boot Camp on an iMac. The color controls do not allow you to make Window borders display in black. Is there some other way to set the window border color in Windows 8? Edit 1: Clearly the standard way does not work in Windows 8. The question is, is there another way? Perhaps through the registry for example? Edit 2: I tried copying the values in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM from my Win7 system to the Win8 system without success (killing the 2 DWM processes after each change - they are automatically restarted and do use the new values).

• HP Pavillion dv6 laptop - 15 beeps on startup and a black screen?

  Usual story - girlfriend's step-brother's laptop is broken. I don't know a huge amount about what occurred before it broke, but I do know the following: When you try to turn the laptop on, it beeps 15 times exactly. The screen remains black. The LED on the Caps Lock key flashes continuously. If left on, the laptop never boots - as far as I can see. If left on, on a stable surface with decent ventilation for a relatively short period of time, the laptop (below keyboard, but not where the RAM/HDD are) gets very hot. I've tried doing what most websites appear to recommend for similar problems, which is to disconnect AC and battery then hold the power button down for a minute before reconnecting the AC and trying to turn the laptop on - no difference. EDIT I've also tried re-seating the RAM, to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks in advance,
