  • Indenting c++ in visual studio.

    I am using Visual Studio 2005 team edition. I come from a unix background using gvim. It would appear that formatting/indenting code seems to be a lot harder. Can anyone suggest a good option. VI with its autoindent/smartindent settings spoilt me. thanks

    I was looking to write/get a visual studio add in. I want to be able to write descriptive log calls at the top and bottom of a function. like this log.debug("TheClass.TheMethod(string TheStringParam ="+TheStringParam+") - in"); log.debug("TheClass.TheMethod(string TheStringParam ="+TheStringParam+") - out"); Is there an adin that does this? Is there source anywhere for an add in like Ghost Doc that does reflection(or whatever) to parse the parameters and such? Thanks, Eric-

    Hi! I've got a lot of xml files, and embedded in some elements there are json serialized objects. They are quite difficult to read and modify. So question is: Are there any Visual Studio addins availible that can take selected json-text in the editor, and visualize it (and maybe even allow for editing)? if not, if I must build it - are there any good starting points or samples availible?     I need to use IBM Informix for my project where I have point coordinates and I need to find which points are present in query rectangular region. Informix has spatial datablade module with ST_POINT and ST_POLYGON data objects. I know how to create, insert and create r-tree index on tables with such objects. But problem is how to do a SELECT statement, something which list all the points in a particular rectangular region.

    Hello - I am using the IBM RAD IDE and building a dynamic web project. When I build the project and attempt to add it to the server by selecting 'add or remove projects' I get the response that there are no projects to add or remove. Does this mean I will have to create a EAR file (J2EE Project) and add my web project to it in order to deploy to the local WAS? Might I be missing some essential configuration?

In case the variable is an object and not just a basic type, there's a + sign to expand and explore the object. It there a way to copy all that into the clipboard?

    I have a solution with just under 100 projects in it, a mix of C++ and C# (mostly C#). When working in VS2005, the working set of Visual Studio is considerably smaller than that of VS2010. I was wondering if there are some things that can be turned off, so I can develop in VS2010 under 32-bit OS without running out of memory.

    linq to sql visual studio Object-Relational designer generates C# entity class names same as the table names (except pluralizing it). so if the table name is authors it generates entity class with name "author". If the table name is Customers it generates class with name "Customer". Is there any option that can be set to make the designer generate entity class names as pascal cased. I am using VS 2010 if that makes any difference. Thanks.
