  • iTunes COM interface on OS/X

    - by jldupont
Is the iTunes COM interface available on Mac OS/X? From the documentation I could find, it seems much more extensive than the Applescript interface I could expose through the Automator program. Disclaimer: absolute OS/X newbie here.

  • Calling COM Library From XBAP

    - by Benny
I am trying to call an old COM library from my XBAP and continue to receive the following exception: System.AccessViolationException was unhandled Message: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. I have tried adding the HKLM value for RunUnrestricted to no avail. I don't get anything else but this error when calling the library. Any ideas? (This library even works from a pure ASP.NET app)

Is the following possible in Silverlight when a button is clicked? An Excel template is downloaded from a remote server and saved to the local machine An instance of the template is then opened on the client A macro is then executed within the new Excel document I can do everything apart from saving the template to the local machine. I can save this in isolated storage but then I don’t know where this is when trying to open it from the Excel COM interop code. Has anyone any ideas or is this not possible?

  • Accessing underlying managed object through a COM interface

    - by mfeingold
I have a third party assembly with a public abstract class implementing a certain COM interface. Something to the effect of [ComVisible(true)] public abstract class SomeClass: ISomeInterface { .... public void Method1() {...} } The actual object is an internal object extending the SomeClass and is instantiated by the third party code Is there a way to access public methods of this class if all I have is the CCW to the ISomeInterface?

    - by Tao
I have a Delphi COM Add-in for Outlook (2000-2007) and am trying to find a way to register an event when an MailItem in Outlook is marked as read. I want to add an additional property to the item as/just after it is marked as read. Does anyone have any idea how to do this using the Outlook Object Model? I am also using Add-In-Express components to help get to additional properties events.

  • Registering a COM control during installation

    - by Curtis
One of our applications needs to register a COM control during installation. If a newer version of that control is already registered, we don't want to overwrite it with the older. What are the Windows MSI install conditions I would user to control this? Or is there some other 'best-practice' method I'm not aware of? Thanks

I have a third party COM component (they don't offer a .Net assy), that has the additional feature that it only works under x86 compile. Hey guys, I was wondering if there're any good sites that deal with learning C++/COM from the ground up? Looking for something like a crash course (two weeks, and not being hypothetical here). Assume knowledge in standard C/C++, or at least not a complete dummy.

hi i have added openid login with Yahoo! and Google in my site. it is ok and works fine. when users select for example Yahoo! to login to my site, they will be logged in in their yahoo mail account too. i think it is not secure because maybe they don't notice to this issue and leave computer while their email account is availble. what do you think about this and what is your solution for your own sites? as i notice the same story is for stackoverflow.com.
