  • asp.net custom templated datalist - throws argument out of range (index) on button press

    - by MrTortoise
    I have a class BaseTemplate public abstract class BaseTemplate : ITemplate This adds the controls, and provides abstract methods to implement in the inheriting class. The inheriting class then adds its html according to its data source and manages the data binding. this all works fine - I get the control appearing with properly parsed html. the problem is that the base class adds controls into the template that have their own CommandName arguments ... the idea is that the class that implements the custom templated dataList will provide the logic of setting the Selected and Edit Indexes. This class also manages the data binding etc. It sets all of the templates ont he datalist in the Init method (which was another cause of this exception). the exception gets throw when i hit one of these buttons .. but after the ItemCommand event is being processed. The stack trace does not include any references to my methods or objects which is why i am so stuck. The Exception Details Exception Details: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. • passing an argument to a custom save() method

    - by Nick
    How do I pass an argument to my custom save method, preserving proper *args, **kwargs for passing to te super method? I was trying something like: form.save(my_value) and def save(self, my_value=None, *args, **kwargs): super(MyModel, self).save(*args, **kwargs) print my_value But this doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?

  • XCode: Function argument indentation

    - by user343317
    I was unable to find any solution of my specific issue. I'm using Xcode 3.2. I'd like to indent the next line of function argument just one step in from the previous line: somevariable = pow( a, b); However, Xcode's syntax-aware indenting insists on converting the above into: somevariable = pow( a, b); Where the arguments are aligned with opening parenthesis of the function. How can I make indenting be configured to match my preference?

  • Use subform record set as domain argument in DAvg()

    - by harto
    Is it possible to use a subform's 'current' record set as the domain argument to DAvg() (etc.)? Basically, I have a subform that displays a subset of records from a query. I would like to run DAvg() over this subset. This is how I've gotten around it: =DAvg([FieldToAvg], [SubformQuery], "ChildField=Forms.MasterForm.MasterField And FieldToAvg > 0") but what I actually want is something like: =DAvg([FieldToAvg], [SubformCurrentlyDisplayedData], "FieldToAvg > 0") Is this possible in Access 2007?

  • AbsoluteTime with an integer argument behaves strangely.

    - by dreeves
    This is strange: DateList@AbsoluteTime[596523] returns {2078, 7, 2, 2, 42, 9.7849} But DateList@AbsoluteTime[596524] returns {1942, 5, 26, 20, 28, 39.5596} The question: What's going on? Note that AbsoluteTime with an integer argument is undocumented. (I think I now know what it's doing but figured this is useful to have as a StackOverflow question for future reference; and I'm curious if there's some reason for that magic 596523 number.)

  • Razor - Unexpected "foreach" keyword after "@" character

    - by Jaco Pretorius
    I have a partial view done in razor. When I run it I get the following error - it seems like Razor gets stuck into thinking I'm writing code everywhere. Unexpected "foreach" keyword after "@" character. Once inside code, you do not need to prefix constructs like "foreach" with "@" Here is my view @model IEnumerable<SomeModel> <div> @using(Html.BeginForm("Update", "UserManagement", FormMethod.Post)) { @Html.Hidden("UserId", ViewBag.UserId) @foreach(var link in Model) { if(link.Linked) { <input type="checkbox" name="userLinks" value="@link.Id" checked="checked" />@link.Description<br /> } else { <input type="checkbox" name="userLinks" value="@link.Id" />@link.Description<br /> } } } </div>

  • Setting html attribute that is reserved keyword in Html.CheckBoxFor in ASP.NET MVC

    - by dormisher
    Hi, I am using the HtmlHelper to create a checkbox in my view like so: <%= Html.CheckBoxFor(model = model.SeatOnly, new { checked = "checked" })% However, an error is being thrown as checked is a reserved keyword. I have found a couple of people saying that you must use the 'reserved word prefix' and simply put an uderscore in front of the attribute like so: <%= Html.CheckBoxFor(model = model.SeatOnly, new { _checked = "checked" })% This does not generate an error but in the generated html the attribute is actually '_checked' which means it doesn't work (if I use firebug and remove the underscore the attribute then takes effect). Does anyone know a way around this while still using CheckBoxFor? Thanks

  • ruby super keyword

    - by ash34
    Hi, From what I understand, 'super' keyword invokes a method with the same name as the current method in the superclass of the current class. Below in the autoload method, there is a call to 'super'. I would like to know in which superclass I would find a method with the same name or what does the call to 'super' do module ActiveSupport module Autoload ... def autoload(const_name, path = @@at_path) full = [self.name, @@under_path, const_name.to_s, path].compact.join("::") location = path || Inflector.underscore(full) if @@eager_autoload @@autoloads[const_name] = location end super const_name, location end .... end end module ActiveRecord extend ActiveSupport::Autoload ... autoload :TestCase autoload :TestFixtures, 'active_record/fixtures' end This code is from the rails master branch. Thanks much.

  • "TypeError: draw() takes exactly 1 non-keyword argument (3 given)"

    - by Amorack
    I wrote this code to open a window with Pyglet in Python... import pyglet from pyglet import window class Window(pyglet.window.Window): def __init__(self): super(Window, self).__init__() myLabel = pyglet.text.Label("Prototype") windowText = myLabel.draw(Window, "Hello World", font_name = "Times New Roman", font_size = 36, color = (193, 205, 193, 255)) def on_draw(self): self.clear() self.label.draw() if __name__ == '__main__': window = Window() pyglet.app.run() however every time I run it I get this error: TypeError: draw() takes exactly 1 non-keyword argument (3 given) AFAIK the "(3 given)" means the problem is with the font_size or color arguments but I'm not sure. Could someone explain what's wrong and help me make this work?

  • LISP: Keyword parameters, supplied-p

    - by echox
    At the moment I'm working through "Practical Common Lisp" from Peter Seibel. In the chapter "Practical: A Simple Database" (http://www.gigamonkeys.com/book/practical-a-simple-database.html) Seibel explains keyword parameters and the usage of a supplied-parameter with the following example: (defun foo (&key a (b 20) (c 30 c-p)) (list a b c c-p)) Results: (foo :a 1 :b 2 :c 3) ==> (1 2 3 T) (foo :c 3 :b 2 :a 1) ==> (1 2 3 T) (foo :a 1 :c 3) ==> (1 20 3 T) (foo) ==> (NIL 20 30 NIL) So if I use &key at the beginning of my parameter list, I have the possibility to use a list of 3 parameters name, default value and the third if the parameter as been supplied or not. Ok. But looking at the code in the above example: (list a b c c-p) How does the lisp interpreter know that c-p is my "supplied parameter"?

  • JavaScript function binding (this keyword) is lost after assignment

    - by Ding
    this is one of most mystery feature in JavaScript, after assigning the object method to other variable, the binding (this keyword) is lost var john = { name: 'John', greet: function(person) { alert("Hi " + person + ", my name is " + this.name); } }; john.greet("Mark"); // Hi Mark, my name is John var fx = john.greet; fx("Mark"); // Hi Mark, my name is my question is: 1) what is happening behind the assignment? var fx = john.greet; is this copy by value or copy by reference? fx and john.greet point to two diferent function, right? 2) since fx is a global method, the scope chain contains only global object. what is the value of this property in Variable object?

  • MySQL to SQL Server - Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'mictest'

    - by Champi Ardon
    First, I tried to migrate my databases with SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySql and it worked fine. But now, I have some problems with my code. I had this line on MYSQL version : $fct="SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE `USER` LIKE CONVERT( _utf8 '$LOGIN' USING latin1 ) COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci AND `PASS` LIKE CONVERT( _utf8 '$PASS'USING latin1 ) COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci"; This line worked fine but when i try to put this on my SQL Version i get : Error : SQLSTATE[42000]: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax with the keyword 'mictest'. (which is my $LOGIN) I though it was a problem with "quotes" so I also tried this but it is not working : $fct="SELECT * FROM users WHERE USER LIKE CONVERT( _utf8 '$LOGIN' USING latin1 ) COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci AND PASS LIKE CONVERT( _utf8 '$PASS' USING latin1 ) COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci";

  • Using a ref Parameter with the this Keyword?

    - by grefly
    Is there a way to force the this keyword to act as a ref argument? I would like to pass in a visitor that modifies multiple properties on the object, but this only wants to act like a value parameter. Code in Object: public void Accept(Visitor<MyObject> visitor) { visitor.Visit(this); } Code in Visitor: public void Visit(ref Visitor<MyObject> receiver) { receiver.Property = new PropertyValue(); receiver.Property2 = new PropertyValue(); }
