  • Client / Server application for Video BroadCasting on LAN

    I m much of a newbie to client/server applications and networking.I am currently starting up a project in which we are planning to create an application or something like a website accessible only to clients in that LAN network.We want the server to upload videos so that the clients can view them whenever they want.Also the clients can upload videos.Also we want some kind of registration to provide authentication to avoid bogus videos.Also additional features that can be added on later like comment section,ratings,Groups etc. Basically what we want is to build mini-youtube but with one major difference , we want the application to be LAN based. This is the idea behind the project.But we dont know where to start from as we are new to this stuff and also we have like 1 year to work on the project.Please guide me as to what all softwares i'll be needing to get this working !

  • Asus RT-N66U forgets USB-Printer

    about a week ago I bought the new Asus RT-N66U as the new Router in our little company. There are about 5 clients and 2 printers. There's a USB-only printer as well, therefor we bougth a router with USB-printer sharing. The setup and everything works smooth, but then after one day, and I still haven't found out why, suddenly the printer dosen't show up in the list of connected devices in the routers webinterface anymore. Of course I loose the possibility of printig, even though the printer shows up as "online" in the system settings. Can anybody guess the reason for this problem? Thank you very much

  • Accessing localhost:8080 through local network

    I'm developing a Python WSGI website. I'm running a Paste development server on my Mac (OS X 10.7) on port 8080. I want to test the website on some other devices and OSs I have connected to the local network (Windows 7 VM, iPad, iPhone, etc.), but am having trouble. I turned on Web Sharing, and am able to access that (port 80) without a problem on all my devices. Port 8080 still doesn't work. An excerpt from my Paste configuration: [server:main] use = egg:waitress#main host = 127.0.0.1 port = 8080 The OS X firewall (Settings - Security - Firewall) is off. I have no other firewall software installed. My network is through a Linksys WRT160N router. I haven't done much with the settings, so most of them are at their defaults. I've been Googling all morning, but can't find a solution.

  • How to make your apache application accessible within network

    I have a Windows XP machine where I have installed WAMP and made a PHP based web application. I can access the web application from within this machine by using the browser and pointing to: http://localhost/myApp/ --- and the page loads fine. Now I want this site (http://localhost/myApp) to be accessible to all machines within the network (and may be later, to the general public as well). I am quite new to this, how do I make my site accessible to all machines within the network and to the general public in the internet? I tried modifying the httpd.conf file in Apache (WAMP) by changing Listen 80 to Listen 10.10.10.10:80 (where I replaced 10.10.10.10 with the actual IP of this windows xp machine). I also tried "Put Online" feature in WAMP. None seem to work though. How do I make it accessible?

    Hi, I have an web project in asp.net in one of my computers which are connected internally through LAN. The database is in Sql Server kept in another computer. The LAN is connected well. There is no connection error in my programming also. But sometimes in this particular system the page is taking long time to be open, sometime it is showing some exceptions(not everytime again and again). What can be the problem? How can it be solved? The same project is running good in other computers as well. My network seems ok, as I can acccess the computer hosting SQL server.

    Hey guys, I have 2 LANs in my own PC & 2 Routers (TP-Link WR941N each) with 2 internet accounts (512Kbps each) connected to the same ISP signal & company using NanoStation 5 from ubnt. As you know the connections work separately by default! (I use Windows 7 64bit) Can I merge them to get double speed (download/upload simultaneously) using regedit or special software or any other method?   • 1 Computer Pulls Wrong DNS Every Morning

    One of my users takes his laptop home, connects to his internal network fine. He brings it in every morning and since Monday - every morning it pulls the wrong DNS every time. It pulls 1 DNS: 192.168.1.1 which is the router. The DNS are external IPs. I have several users that take their laptops home and connect to other networks - what could cause this anomaly? He's booting up when he comes in the office and a simple ipconfig /release /renew fixes the issue.

I have a Hub and spoke network where the HUB is an ASA Firewall version 8.2 * I basicaly want to allow 2 spokes to be able to communicate with each other.   • PHP transfer files from server to server in LAN

    So, I have 5-6 pages of requirements. I'm trying to build this application in PHP based on the requirements. I want to transfer files from one server to the other server in LAN, and then send a shell command to the other server to find out if the file has been transferred successfully. In php, I can transfer files using FTP, and send shell commands using SSH. Using the methods above, I will need to open connection to the server first, but I don't know the ftp server name, domain name, ip address, or anything like that. I only know the the server ID (I'm not sure what this ID is, but I guess it is like the computer's name). An example of the server ID is: "c23bap234" How do I open a connection with just that server ID? These servers are in the same building, have LAN connection, don't have connection to the outside world. These machines have PHP, Apache, ... installed. I am drawing into a bitmap and than I set it to a pictureBox component. I have a hard time to decide how to send updates to each user, what is the best way to do it.     Hi, I am running Wamp on my computer (the host). I have set up several virtualhosts in apache and they are working fine when I access them from the same computer (host). I have installed Windows XPMode on my computer (which is running windows 7). XPMode (which uses Virtual PC) is set up to use a NAT network. The network in XPMode is working fine, and I can access the host PC via the IP address 192.168.1.5, just as I would if I was using any physical computer on the same network. I can view all the web pages at 192.168.1.5 and it's subdirectories. However, I cannot access any of the subdomains that are configured in the virtualhosts of the host computer. How can I access the subdomains? I don't think that the fact that I am using XPMode and am using a virtualized OS has anything to do with it, but I thought that it was worth mentioning.

    At the moment, I'm using Dropbox on my computer and Dropsync on my Android phone (over WiFi) to one-way sync the files (such as photos/app backups) on my phone to the Dropbox servers which are then synced to my computer. I like the features of Dropsync which can be set to sync only when the phone is charging and the WiFi is on. So everytime I charge my phone, i know my files are being backed up. Now I'm wondering if there's a similar app/program combo or something that can do what I'm currently doing but remove the middle-man (Dropbox servers)?

    I have a Windows 7 laptop accessing the internet through Verizon wireless MIFI configured as 192.168.1.1. It supports only 5 wireless connections, so I don't want to use up connections unnecessarily. That laptop has an ethernet nic which I have given a static IP of 192.168.0.5. Everything else on the 192.168.0.0 network acquires an address via DHCP from a DLink router whose address is 192.168.0.1. Also on that network are a printer, some network cameras, and a linux pc. The linux pc does not have a wireless card (and I don't want to buy one). The linux pc is located at 192.168.0.122. I can ping the linux pc from the windows pc. But I cannot access the internet from the linux pc. I can ping everything on the 192.168.0.0 network EXCEPT the ethernet card in the Windows PC. It seems as though my DLink router will not route requests to the 192.168.0.5 nic on the windows pc. My windows pc has a default route pointing to the 192.168.1.0 network. It also has a route telling it to route all traffic destined for the 192.168.0.0 network through the 192.168.0.5 interface. I have tried adding a default route to the linux pc to "gateway" 192.168.0.5, but that does not work. I have also tried adding a default route to the linux pc to the gateway 192.168.0.1 (the DLink router) but that will not give me internet access either (over the 192.168.1.0 network). I tried these two different routes at different times - I did not set them both at the same time. I suppose this is a simple problem to solve, but I cannot seem to solve it. How can I give internet access over the 192.168.1.1 MIFI to my linux pc on 192.168.0.122?     The WLC is a 2100 series and I have looked back and forth through the entire web interface. Originally the idea was that the gateway should be the DNS controler and the WLC pointed directly at the gateway. For some reason, random clients are having DNS specific issues when it comes to seeing certain shares around the network. The problems are also very intermittent. Aside from going to each box and implementing a static DNS is there ACTUALLY a DNS setting lodged into the WLC settings (and I am being a numpty and can't find them) or am I stuck with performing the config 1 by 1?

On the old router I had no problems accessing a laptop running Mint Linux over the network(SSH, FTP, and Shared Folders). However I am now not able to connect. I have verified the IP address of my Linux machine has not changed and I have no problems connecting to our NAS(WDMYCLOUD). The new router is a D-Link DIR-868L. PuTTY is giving me a Timed Out error(was giving me a EHOSTUNREACH before). Running Windows 8.1 the connecting laptop, but tried connecting using my phone via SSH did not work either.
