• Flex 4 - Highlight keywords in a block of text using TextLine

  I have a search and results page that I would like to highlight the keywords that were searched for, in the text of the results. It was suggested that I use TextLine for this, but I am having trouble figuring out how to make it work. • DataGrid Column names don't seem to be binding

When reset() is called on the dataSetLoader instance, the DataGrid empties the data in the cells, as expected, but leaves the column names, even though reset() calls _columnNames.removeAll(). Shouldn't the change in the collection trigger a change in the DataGrid?

• Checking for valid email addresses

  I'm running a website with more than 60 000 registered users. Every week notifications are send to these users via email, now I've noticed some of the mail addresses do not exists anymore eg. the domain address is valid but the email name en asdas@ is not valid anymore since person does not work at a company anymore etc. Now I'm looping through the database and doing some regular expression checks and checking if the MX records exist with the following two functions function verify_email($email){ if(!preg_match('/^[_A-z0-9-]+((\.|\+)[_A-z0-9-]+)*@[A-z0-9-]+(\.[A-z0-9-]+)*(\.[A-z]{2,4})$/',$email)){ return false; } else { return true; } } // Our function to verify the MX records function verify_email_dns($email){ list($name, $domain) = split('@',$email); if(!checkdnsrr($domain,'MX')){ return false; } else { return true; } } If the email address is in an invalid format or the domain does not exists I delete the users account. Are there any methods I could use to check if the email address still exists or not if the domain name is valid and the email address is in the correct format? For example [email protected] does not exist anymore but test.com is a valid domain name.

• Flex: Linebreak problem with spark.components.TextArea inside a MXDataGridItemRenderer

  Hi, I have a DataGrid that has a MXDataGridItemRenderer applied as an itemEditor to one of the columns. The editor includes a spark.components.TextArea control. By default, any text item editor of a datagrid closes itself when [enter] key is pressed.. • Choosing between instance methods and separate functions?

  Adding functionality to a class can be done by adding a method or by defining a function that takes an object as its first parameter. Most programmers that I know would choose for the solution of adding a instance method. However, I sometimes prefer to create a separate function. For example, in the example code below Area and Diagonal are defined as separate functions instead of methods. I find it better this way because I think these functions provide enhancements rather than core functionality. Is this considered a good/bad practice? • Center label instance inside VGroup in Flex

• The vps is running, but the domain name is down ?

  Hi, i created a vps on vps.net and installed CentOS 5.4 x64 LAMP , i choosed the root password and the server start running, i added my domain name in the vps domain section, also i added the two name servers on where i bought the domain name. the problem is that i still can't access the domain, so i think that's because a mistake in the DNS template that is created automatically by the vps provider, here is it : TYPE | NAME | TARGET | MX PRIORITY | ACTIONS ------------------------------------------------------------------- OA @ dns1.vps.net. NS @ dns1.vps.net. NS @ dns2.vps.net. • Emails forwarded via postfix get flagged as spam and forged in Gmail

  I'm trying to setup a forwarding only email server. I'm running into the problem where all messages forwarded via postfix are getting put into gmail's spam folder and getting flagged as forged. I'm testing a very similar setup on a cpanel box and their forwarded emails make it through without any problem.   I have my own email server in my house, on a static IP address. I have had business DSL for over a decade, but I also now have Comcast business Internet. I want to transition from the DSL to the Comcast, and I have some questions. I have a domain name, my own mail server, and a firewall (a PC with two network interfaces, running Devil-Linux). I need to make sure I understand how to set up the Comcast cable box, and how to set up my firewall. First, do I need to change any settings in the cable box? Currently I have only used the cable box by plugging in a laptop, with the laptop doing DHCP. I think I can leave the box alone but I would like to make sure. Second, I'm not sure I understand the instructions Comcast gave me for setting up the firewall. My DSL provider gave me the following information: static IP address, net mask, gateway, and two DNS servers. Comcast gave me: static IP address, routable static IP address, net mask, and two DNS servers, and told me to put the "static IP address" as the "gateway" on the firewall. Is this just Comcast-speak here? Does "routable static IP address" mean the same thing as "static IP address" in my DSL setup, the end-point address that I should publish in the DNS MX records for my email server? Or should I publish the "static IP address", and Comcast will then route all its traffic over the cable box? My plan is: first, I'm going to configure another firewall, so I have one firewall for the DSL and one for the Comcast (rather than madly editing settings to switch back and forth). Then I will publish the new Comcast static IP address as a backup email server address in the DNS MX records, wait a while to let it propagate, and then switch my home over from the DSL to the Comcast. Then I'll change DNS to make that the primary mail address and the DSL the secondary, let that go a while and make sure it seems reliable. Then I'll remove the DSL from the DNS MX records completely, and finally shut down the DSL service. (I thought about keeping the DSL as a backup, but the reason I'm leaving DSL is that it has become unreliable; and I have heard that Comcast business Internet is reliable.)   I have been using Dreamweaver for years, and have used Dreamweaver MX, Dreamweaver MX 2004, Dreamweaver 8 & Dreamweaver CS4. They all carry a common theme and were relatively easy to migrate to each other. I use, however, very few features of dreamweaver. Specifically: Syntax highlighting Telesense FTP management/site management The search/replace The idea I get from Aptana is its much more geared toward the web development/programmer side of things, have better visualizations of classes, etc., and handle everything else just as well. The problem is it is not at all clear to me. I managed to start a new project, but it didn't associate it with an FTP. So, I created an FTP, and it looks like I can have many FTPs for one project. My question then is, is there a tutorial or guide to migrating to Aptana from a Dreamweavor's perspective?

• Domain of sender address does not resolve (in reply to MAIL FROM command)

  When sending out emails with postfix I sometimes get this error: 451 #4.1.8 Domain of sender address <[email protected]> does not resolve (in reply to MAIL FROM command) The domain mydomain.tld is resolvable though, meaning A, MX, PTR records are set properly. However, the sending server does have a different domain anotherdomain.tld but it is allowed to send emails from mydomain.tld since I set the MX records of mydomain.tld to anotherdomain.tld. The envelope from of the problematic emails is [email protected]. Is there some other dns entry I have to set? Or how else could I solve the problem? (I would like to keep the server structure though)

• Attempting to migrate to Aptana from Dreamweaver - how to?

  I have been using Dreamweaver for years, and have used Dreamweaver MX, Dreamweaver MX 2004, Dreamweaver 8 & Dreamweaver CS4. They all carry a common theme and were relatively easy to migrate to each other. I use, however, very few features of dreamweaver. Specifically: Syntax highlighting Telesense FTP management/site management The search/replace The idea I get from Aptana is its much more geared toward the web development/programmer side of things, have better visualizations of classes, etc., and handle everything else just as well. The problem is it is not at all clear to me. I managed to start a new project, but it didn't associate it with an FTP. So, I created an FTP, and it looks like I can have many FTPs for one project. My question then is, is there a tutorial or guide to migrating to Aptana from a Dreamweavor's perspective?

Now I'll be sending alot of emails from my web app to people and this works fine. What I also want is for people to be able to send us email. Please point me in the right direction.   I currently have an SPF record with a hostname of @ that is: v=spf1 mx ip4:x.x.x.243/32 include:_spf.google.com include:amazonses.com ~all I also have another record of" spf2.0/pra mx ip4:x.x.x.243/32 include:_spf.google.com include:amazonses.com ~all We have had a lot of email being bounced back because of spam and now when I go to http://www.kitterman.com/spf/validate.html? and check the "Does my domain already have an SPF record? What is it? Is it valid?" it says no spf record exists. However, when I send an email using our Amazon SES script and check the headers it says it passes the SPF test. Is there something I am missing? Do I need to place that text in quotes ""? Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

• Why is Denic not accepting my nameservers?

  I'm currently in the process of moving all of our domains to our own nameservers. Which wasn't an issue until I hit our own .de domain. I (think I) understand the implications of having the NS inside it's own domain, hence the need for glue records. Either way, they're avoiding my questions in regards to what this error means. They just tell me Your nameserver has to return your own nameservers as the default resolver. • Why does my mail get marked as spam?

  I Have the server "afspraakmanager.be". It matches everything not to be a spam server.(it isn't by the way): it has reverse dns, spf,dkim,... . But hotmail marks it as spam. • Exchange 2007 and migrating only some users under a shared domain name

  I'm in the process of moving two law firms to hosted Exchange 2007, a service that the consulting company I work for offers. Let's call these two firms Crane Law and Poole Law. These two firms were ONE firm just six months ago, but split. So they have three email domains: Old Firm: craneandpoole.com New Firm 1: cranelaw.com New Firm 2: poolelaw.com Both Firm 1 & Firm 2 use craneandpoole.com email addresses, as for the other two domains, only people who work at the respective firm use that firm's domain name, natch. Currently these two firms are still using the same pre-split internal Exchange 2007 server, where MX records for all three domains point. Here's the problem. I'm not moving both companies at the same time. I'm moving Crane Law two weeks before Poole Law. During this two weeks, both companies need to be able to: Continue to receive emails addressed to craneandpoole.com Send emails between firms, using cranelaw.com and poolelaw.com accounts I also have a third problem: I'd like to setup all three domains in my hosting infrastructure way ahead of time, to make my own life easier What would solve all my problems would be, if there is some way I can tell Exchange 2007, even though this domain exists locally forward on the message to the outside world using public MX record as a basis for where to send it (or if I could somehow create a route for it statically that would work too). If this doesn't work, to address points #1 when I migrate Crane Law, I will delete all references locally to cranelaw.com on their current Exchange server, and setup individual forwards for each of their craneandpool.com mailboxes to forward to our hosted exchange server. This will also take care of point #2, since the cranelaw.com won't be there locally, when poolelaw.com tries to send to cranelaw.com, public MX records will be used for mail routing decisions and go to my hosted exchange. The bummer of that though is, I won't be able to setup poolelaw.com ahead of time in hosted Exchange, will have to wait to do it day of :( Sorry for the long and confusing post. Just wondering if there is a better or simpler way to do what I want? Three tier forests and that kind of thing are out, this is just a two week window where they won't be in the same place.
