  • Handle a More Navigation Controller in an Interface Builder based TabBar Application

    Hi, I'm still not clear on how and when to use interface builder. I have a tabbar-based application, in which I added 6 navigations controllers. Instead of having 6 tabs, I would like 3 plus a "More" tab which allows the user to configure the tabs he wants. Is there any way to do that with IB ? And if not, how can I move from IB to a code-based tabbar (provided I already set up a class TabBarController which handles shouldAutoRotate:) Thanks in advance !

  • Is having a 'home' navigation item on the home page negative to your sites SEO?

    My work colleague has recently had conversations with some SEO consultants and after those conversations she has come to the conclusion that having a link to the home page on the home page will have a negative effect on the websites SEO. And because of this we are now building websites that don't have a home link show until you are on any page other than the home page. If the above argument is true then surely then if we are on the about page of a website we shouldn't show a navigation item for the page we are on, and that would the case for any other page of the website... So my question is: Does having a home navigation item on the home page have a negative effect on the websites SEO? And if not: Why has my colleague come to the above conclusion? Could she be misunderstanding something more important about home links on the home page regarding SEO?

  • Key Navigation Not Working With SL3 Treeview

    I have a treeview in SL3 that is bound to a hierarchical list. Something has changed with regards to being able to navigate through the list using the up and down arrow keys. At one point, during the development of this application, I could start at the root process in the tree view, press the Enter key, and the root process would expand, showing all children processes. Some of the child processes are parent nodes for other processes. So, that functionality would work fine. Then, if I would navigate to a child node that is a parent, and press Enter, that node would expand. From that point, if I would navigate to a child node of the parent node, and then press the Up arrow key, it should select whatever item is directly above it, in this case, the corresponding parent node, but won't. It's like you can't navigate, using the UP Arrow key, to a child's parent, if you have selected the child. You can navigate down, just not UP, if the next item above it is a folder/parent node. I have no clue as to how this happened, as this functionality used to work fine, and now it doesn't. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Chris

    Hi, I'm trying to program an iphone app that will have several different (sub)apps. Ideally, I want to know how to make the main menu for this app look and behave like the iphone's own app menu, but I can't figure it out. If any one knows a package or library that does this, please let me know. Plan B is to mock one using UIButtons, and here is where I'm having problems. Basically, when I press a button that should push a new view, it calls the push method, but I still see the top view. in the app delegate, I have something like: AppViewController *viewController; App1ViewController *app1ViewController; UINavigationController *navController; and in didFinishLaunching method, something like: viewController = [ [ AppViewController alloc ] initWithAppDelegate: self ]; app1ViewController = [ [App1ViewController alloc ] initWithAppDelegate: self ]; navController = [ [ UINavigationController alloc ] initWithRootViewController:viewController]; [window addSubview:viewController.view]; and 2 methods -(void)app1{[ navController pushViewController: app1ViewController animated:YES ];} -(void)back{[ navController popViewControllerAnimated:YES ];} then I have 2 viewcontrollers in AppViewController.h @interface AppViewController : UIViewController { UINavigationController *navController; UIButton *appbtn1, *appbtn2, *appbtn3, *appbtn4; } -(id)initWithAppDelegate:(id)appDelegate; @end @interface App1ViewController : UIViewController { UITextView *textView; UINavigationController *navController; } -(id)initWithAppDelegate:(id)appDelegate; @end and define a loadView for each viewcontroller. However, when I press the app1 button and the app1 method gets called, it says the view hasa been pushed, but my view remains the buttons view, i.e. the root view. If I press the button again, it tells me I can't repush the app1view, the one I can't see. Any ideas? I can post the full code if that helps. Thank you for your time.

  • z-index has no effect in IE7 with Google Map and Navigation Sub-Menus

    I feel like the problem is extremely apparent. I'm working on an issue with a client's site, which actually happens on several of my clients' sites but this one is the most apparent. IE7 Is refusing to obey z-index rules. I've played around with differing values, particularly on the divs #mapWrapper and #map. Take a look here: http://thepaysongroup.com/wp-content/plugins/hq_idx/searchlistings.php I've done dozens of web searches and I can't find anything that resolves this issue. I also ready through Aleksandar Vacic's article on IE6/7 z-index discrepancies, but still nothing. Any assistance would be much appreciated, I'm tearing my hair out on this one.

    Hi everyone , In my view this is one of the strangest problem i have ever come across in iPhone app development. Let me explain the scenario , i have main screen 'A' on which i have a Button that directs me to another Screen say 'B'. Now on Screen 'B' i have a feature in which user can send a mail to his friend for promotion purpose e.g a user wishes to tell a frnd about this app so i used MFMailComposeViewController and a view is generated where the user types the address and click send ( subject and body of mail is automatically generated ). After sending the mail a new view opens say screen 'C' and here i want to give the user the options . 1. Go to Screen 'A' ( which is main screen of the app ) 2. Go back to Screen 'B' ( from where the user requested to send a mail to his frnd ). Now the strange part i cannot declare the variables ( Screen 'A' and 'B' ) of both these files here at in header file of screen 'C' . Even when i declare the header file at the top it generates an error. The variables can be easily be declared and used for other screens but not for these 2 screens.   • Symfony + JQueryUI Tabs navigation menu question

    I'm trying to use the tabs purely as a navigational menu, loading my pages in the tabs, but being able to bookmark said tabs, and have the address bar correspond with the action I'm executing. So here is my simple nav partial: <div id='tabs'> <ul> <li id='home'><a href="<?php echo url_for('post/index') ?>" title="Home">Home</a></li> <li id='test'><a href="<?php echo url_for('post/test') ?>" title="Test">Test</a></li> </ul> </div> And the simple tabs intializer: $(document).ready(function() { $('#tabs').tabs({spinner: '' }); }); My layout just displays $sf_content. I want to display the content for the action I'm executing (currently home or test) in the tab, via ajax, and have the tab be bookmarkable. I've googled this like 4000 times and I can't find an example of what I'm trying to do. If anyone has a resource they know of, I can look it up, or if you can help, I would greatly appreciate it.   • Adding Parameters to Zend_Navigation

    I have a problem with Zend_Navigation that I am hoping for a little guidance on. I'm in the process of adding a Zend_Navigation to a legacy app as described [here on SO].1 The thing that I am not sure of is how to add parameters to the navigation menu after the data is loaded from the xml file. What I want to do is get 2 identifying parameters from the url and add them to the Zend_Navigation so that they are included in things such as the breadcrumb bar, so that if a user selects the previous item in the breadcrumb they are returned with the correct params in the url. The parameters, I believe need to be set at the Action level rather than the controller. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

  • IPhone XCode programming: view called from a navigation view doesn't set its IBOutlet attributes

    I created a view Called ProgrammaView that appears when a row of a table is clicked. This view has a UILabel, a UIImageView and a UITextView. Now. ProgrammaView's Outlets have to be changed by the parameter passed to a method of the view called iniz. in this image there is first the ProgrammaView.h and then the method iniz. The problem is that the label and other stuff doesn't change! I checked 3 million times that everything between the xib file and the controller is linked. The trick to call iniz in the other viewcontrollers works well in other part of the program so i think is not that the problem. Thank you in advance!

    I am using JSF 2.0 and PrimeFaces 3.0. I have uploaded the images and have to crop the image. The images are uploaded and successfully displayed in the upload pages. When I select the images and click the crop button the corresponding crop bean is not called. If I don't select the image and click the crop button the corresponding crop bean class is called but a NullPointerException occurred. What is the problem? By default, 3 blocks(Content 0,Content 1,Content 2) are coming. When is clicked then (Content 1,Content 2,Content 3) will come. For this, I hide content 0 block. But layout will disturb on << click. I know this is wrong way. I should set left position instead of hiding content but it is empty I tried to set left position but no luck. Let me know How the block can be moved one by one using javascript and what is the best approach to do this?

    Good Morning, I have a radiobuttonlist in my ASP.NET webforms application that is used as a voting tool. The concept is as follows: Users will vote for the blurb in the contentplaceholder using the radiobuttonlist. My list item values are 1 through 3 and my list item text is something like low, medium and high. Questions: 1. I want to save and accumulate votes for a given blurb. The blurb ID is referenced in a meta tag on the content page. How do I reference the meta tag in my SQL insert statement? 2. When the radiobuttonlist is used, can it cause the next content page to be loaded after the SQL insert is done? That is, I don't necessarily want the user to make the radiobuttonlist selection, then have to click a separate button to cast vote and move to next page. I want all that done in the radiobuttonlist.     Hi there, I've tried to ask this before, but nothing got answered. Basically, I would like someone to explain to me how to create a table, which when a cell is tapped, pushes the user to the next view for that cell. I have this so far: Click here to view what I have. I would further like to, say when CSS is tapped, it goes to a new view which has another table in it. This table would then take the user to a detail view, which is scrollable and you can switch pages through it. I would appreciate longer, more structured tutorials on how to do each and every bit to get it to work.     Hi, cmake advises to use out-of-source builds. While in general I like the idea I find it not comfortable to navigate from out-of-source sub directory to the corresponding source directory. I frequently need the code to perform some actions with code (e.g. grep, svn command etc.). Is there an easy way in shell to navigate from out-of-source sub directory to the corresponding source directory? Thanks Dima
