Hello, I am using MS Office 2007. Please let me know that how can I copy whole data from sheet one to sheet two. I want to copy the whole data from row 5 to onward in sheet two. The whole scenrio is given below in detail. Sheet one: Copy the data from column B and Row 3 Sheet Two: Paste the Copied Data in Column B and Row 3 Sheet One: Copy the whole data from Column B to Column G and Row 5 to onward Sheet Two: Paste whole copied data in sheet two from last filled row to onward Data dont overwrite on any row or column. FOX toolkit, file concatentation

I'm using the FOX Toolkit and C++ to develop a GUI. I'm Having an issue with the FXFile::concat(...) command. The method looks like: FXFile::concat(const FXString & srcfile1, const FXString & srcfile2, const FXString & dstfile, FXbool overwrite = false And when I call it with the srcfile1 and dstfile being the same thing (because I need to simply add to srcfile1), the method does not work. dstfile is empty. Anyone have experience with FOX and this concatentation problem? I'm open to other suggestions as well, including boost.

Flash, parameters, security

Hi, I have a question: In Flash, I have the ability to save certain info onto the server. Now the problem is the user needs to be authenticated as admin in order to do so. I can't use sessions, since if you work longer than 20 minutes in the Flash application, the session is gone. The way I see it, I have 2 possibilities: 1. passing a parameter (bIsAdmin) to Flash from the Website. 2. Launch a http-get request, to get this value (bIsAdmin) from an ashx handler on application startup, when the session has not yet exired. In my opinion, both possibilities are not really secure... So, Which one is safer, 1 or 2? Or does anybody have a better idea ? In my opinion, 1 is safer, because with 2, you can just switch a packet tamperer in between, and bang, you're admin, with permission to save (or overwrite, =delete) anything.

On Ubuntu, how do you install a newer version of python and keep the older python version?

Background: I am using Ubuntu The newer python version is not in the apt-get repository (or synaptic) I plan on keeping the old version as the default python when you call "python" from the command line I plan on calling the new python using pythonX.X (X.X is the new version). Given the background, how do you install a newer version of python and keep the older python version? I have downloaded from python.org the "install from source" *.tgz package. The readme is pretty simple and says "execute three commands: ./configure; make; make test; sudo make install;" If I do the above commands, will the installation overwrite the old version of python I have (I definitely need the old version)?

Locking NFS files in PHP

Part of my latest webapp needs to write to file a fair amount as part of its logging. One problem I've noticed is that if there are a few concurrent users, the writes can overwrite each other (instead of appending to file). I assume this is because of the destination file can be open in a number of places at the same time. flock(...) is usually superb but it doesn't appear to work on NFS... Which is a huge problem for me as the production server uses a NFS array. The closest thing I've seen to an actual solution involves trying to create a lock dir and waiting until it can be created. To say this lacks elegance is understatement of the year, possibly decade. Any better ideas? Edit: I should add that I don't have root on the server and doing the storage in another way isn't really feasible any time soon, not least within my deadline.

NFS Server in Java

I search an implementation of a network (or distributed) file system like NFS in Java. The goal is to extend it and do some research stuff with it. On the web I found some implementation e.g. DJ NFS, but the open question is how mature and fast they are. Can anyone purpose a good starting point, has anyone experience with such things? P.S. I know Hadoop DFS and I used it for some projects, but Hadoop is not a good fit for the things I want to do here. --EDIT-- Hadoop is really focused on highly scalable, high throughput computing without the possibilities to overwrite parts of a file and so an. The goal is you could use the filesystem e.g. for user home directories. --EDIT-- More Details: The idea is to modify such a implementation so that the files are not stored directly on a local filesystem, but to apply data de-duplication.

MySQL INTO OUTFILE overide existing file?

I've written a big sql script that creates a CSV file. I want to call a cronjob every night to create a fresh CSV file and have it available on the website. Say for example I'm store my file in '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' and my SQL is SELECT * INTO OUTFILE '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' FROM ( .... MySQL gives me an error when the file already exists File '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' already exists Is there a way to make MySQL overwrite the file? I could have PHP detect if the file exists and delete it before creating it again but it would be more succinct if I can do it directly in MySQL.

heroku using git branch is confusing!

Ok, so I have a big github project that i'm not supposed to merge my little Stacia branch into. However, it seems like Heroku only takes pushing MASTER seriously. It looks like I pushed my branch, but for example if I only have my branch, it even acts like there's no code on the server. I can't even get my gems installed since the .gems file is on my branch. Basically I don't even want Heroku to know there's a master. I just want to use my test Stacia branch. But it keeps ignoring my local branch. Is there a way to do this? And again, I don't want to overwrite anything on the main Github repository (eeek!) but it would be ok probably if I had both master and my branch on heroku and merged them there. I am a total git novice (on windows no less) so please bear with me.

Maven Release Plugin with JAXB issues

Hiya, We've got a project set up to use the Maven Release Plugin which includes a phase that unpacks a JAR of XML schemas pulled from Artifactory and a phase that generates XJC classes. We're on maven release 2.2.1. Unfortunately the latter phase is executing before the former which means that it isn't generating the XJC classes for the schema. [StructureMap] Xml configuration or Configuration through code?

I personally like the option to configure StructureMap from C# code. From what I understand, one of the advantages of DI, is that we can easily swap in a new concrete instance. But, if the configuration is defined in code, then the concrete instances are hardcoded in the dll. So, practically, its as good as having hard coded the dependencies, right? I know, during testing it makes life easier... My point is, wouldnt it be better to use xml configuration instead? you want to plugin a new concrete instance? simply have your installer overwrite the structuremap.config file with the new one. So, what is the preferred way to configure StructureMap? Extra: Am forced to use C# configuration for the time being because I dont know how to pass the connection string to instance. I can write the connectionstring in the config file, but i would like to reuse the connectionstring defined in app.config.

Saving a "project"-type document (containing sub-documents)

I'm trying to create a "project"-like document, in that it contains subdocuments in a specified directory. I'd like a brand new save of a document to set up that directory with appropriate subdirectories. I'd like a "Save As" to copy all those subdirectories and any files within them to the new location. But I'd like a "Save" to only update certain data files and (of course) not overwrite all the subdocuments! What's the "safe" way to do this? I tried keeping track of the file's location in my document, and checking to see if it was the same or different than the save location, but it feels messy, and I'm worried that Apple is doing something behind the scenes that will make this direct URL-to-URL comparison fail in some circumstances. Is there a standard way to do something like this?

Hello, I have an associative array, however when I add values to it using the below function it seems to overwrite the same keys. Is there a way to have multiple of the same keys with different values? Or is there another form of array that has the same format? Is there a name for a language feature that allows assignment/creation?

This is a bit hard for me to articulate, but in PHP you can say something like: $myArray['someindex'] = "my string"; and if there is no index named that, it will create/assign the value, and if there IS an index, it will overwrite the existing value. Compare this to Javascript where today I had to do checks like so: if (!myObject[key]) myObject[key] = "value"; I know this may be a bit of a picky point, but is there a name for the ability of PHP (and many other languages) to do these checks on their own as opposed to the more verbose (read: PITA) method of Javascript?

Loading an OverlayView from XIB -vs- programmatically for use with UIImagePickerController

I am currently making a camera app for iPhone and I have a strange phenomenon that I can't figure out. I would appreciate some help understanding. When recreating an overlay view for passing to UIImagePickerController, I have been successfully been able to create the view programmatically. What I haven't been able to do is create the view with/without controller in IB, load it and pass it to the overlay pointer successfully. If I do it via IB, the view is not opaque and obscures the view of the camera completely. I can not figure out why. I was thinking that the normal view pointer might be assigned when loading from XIB and therefore overwrite the camera's view, but I have an example programmatically where view and overlayView are set equal in the controller class. Perhaps the load order is overwriting a pointer? Help would be appreciated... kind regards.

Does Apache need to be stopped to edit "/etc/apache2/sites-available/default"?

I am attempting to edit the "default" file located at .. "/etc/apache2/sites-available/default" on my Ubuntu machine running Apache 2.2.8. I want to do this in order to enable the use of .htaccess files. I have downloaded the "default" file and edited it and now I am trying to upload it back to the server via SFTP. I keep getting permission denied errors. Could it be because Apache is running and making use of the file? I am an admin on the machine so I would expect to be able to overwrite the file. Thanks for any assistance.

Modifying all HTTP requests on iPhoneOS with MobileSubstrate?

I want to write a MobileSubstrate (http://www.iphonedevwiki.net/index.php/MobileSubstrate) addon that takes every HTTP request and modifies the URL. (The reason is very complicated and would take a while to explain, so just trust me that there's not an alternative). Basically, I need to know what's the best Objective-C message or C function that I should overwrite to intercept any HTTP request, modify the URL, and send the request back to the original function (this shouldn't be just the first request sent by an application, but any redirects too). I think it may be in NSURL or CFNetwork, but am not sure where exactly. This function should, when replaced, work with any apps and the OS itself.

How can I write a file on an ftps-server with PHP?

What I have to do is to generate a XML-string (that works) an save that directly into a file on an ftps-server. So far, so good... I used the following code with ftp and it works to, but not with ftps. So I either need another options-configuration for the stream or a different way to solve that task. deny iframe javascript to scroll parent window

I've a site with banner ads, loaded using iframes. The banner ads always scroll the parent window when the banner doesn't complety fit into the visible region. This is really annoying and I'd like to deny the javascript of the iframes to scroll the main window. Here is what I already tried: Move the iframe src code to another domain. Normally js from another domain should not be allowed to access the parent window, is it?! This doesn't work. Overwrite window.moveTo, window.scrollTo, window.scrollBy in parent with my own functions. This doesn't seem to work neither, as none of these functions seems to be called. :-( Any help would be really great :-)

This is pure just for interest question, any sort of questions are welcome. So is it possible to create thread-safe collections without any locks? By locks I mean any thread synchronization mechanisms, including Mutex, Semaphore, and even Interlocked, all of them. Is it possible at user level, without calling system functions? Ok, may be implementation is not effective, i am interested in theoretical possibility. If not what is the minimum means to do it? EDIT: Why immutable collections don't work. This of class Stack with methods Add that returns another Stack. Now here is program: Stack stack = new ...; ThreadedMethod() { loop { //Do the loop stack = stack.Add(element); } } this expression stack = stack.Add(element) is not atomic, and you can overwrite new stack from other thread. I am attempting to write a Genetic Algorithm based on techniques I had picked up from the book "AI Techniques for Game Programmers" that uses a binary encoding and fitness proportionate selection (also known as roulette wheel selection) on the genes of the population that are randomly generated within the program in a two-dimensional array. I recently came across a piece of pseudocode and have tried to implement it, but have come across some problems with the specifics of what I need to be doing. I've checked a number of books and some open-source code and am still struggling to progress. I understand that I have to get the sum of the total fitness of the population, pick a random number between the sum and zero, then if the number is greater than the parents to overwrite it, but I am struggling with the implementation of these ideas. Any help in the implementation of these ideas would be very much appreciated as my Java is rusty.

Git subtree workflow

In my current project I'm using an open source forum (https://github.com/vanillaforums/Garden.git). I was planning on doing something like this : git remote add vanilla_remote https://github.com/vanillaforums/Garden.git git checkout -b vanilla vanilla_remote/master git checkout master git read-tree --prefix=vanilla -u vanilla This way I can make change into the vanilla folder (like changing config) and commit it to my master branch and I can also switch into my vanilla branch to fetch updates. My problem is when I try to merge the branch together git checkout vanilla git pull git checkout master git merge --squash -s subtree --no-commit vanilla The problem is that the "update commit" goes on top of my commits and "overwrite" my change. I would rather like to have my commits replay on top of the update. Is there a simple way to do that? I'm not very good in git so maybe this is the wrong approach. Also, I really don't want to mix my history with the vanilla history.

I have a default properties file, and some deployment specific properties files that override certain settings from the default, based on deployment environment. I would like my Ant build script to merge the two properties files (overwriting default values with deployment specific values), and then output the resulting properties to a new file. How to keep plug-in manifest version and pom version in sync in Maven with Tycho

I am using Maven with Tycho to build an eclipse plugin. Tycho generates the pom.xml file for Maven by inspecting the manifest file of the plugin. Now both the manifest file and the pom file have the version of the plugin and they need to be kept in sync manually. This is because I have done some customization in the generated pom file and cannot overwrite it every time I change the version in the manifest. My question here is, is there a way to keep these versions in sync automatically using Tycho?

Pre-processing data before showing it in AdvancedDataGrid

Hi guys, I want to extend AdvancedDataGrid to show a Waterfall Chart in one of its columns. To do that I already created custom cell render that shows bars as I need. Now I have a little challenge: I have to pre-process data to show my Waterfall Chart properly. I have to do it before my grid is show. So, I assume that I have to extends AdvancedDataGrid and overwrite some methods. Does anybody know where I have to start? Any examples?
