  • Programmatically disable WiredHeadset

    Hi, I have an HTC Hero with a major issue. It thinks that the headset/headphones are plugged in. I sent it to HTC and they said there is water damage so no fix. I have tried toggleheadset, toggleheadset2. I've rooted my device and installed the Android 2.1 ROM. Now I found out that AudioManager.setRouting and .setWiredHeadsetOn(bool) have been deprecated and subsequently removed. I read a post somewhere about how you can create a wrapper for the AudioSystem class as the setRouting is still available there. I as of yet have not been able to figure out how to go about doing this as the AudioSystem class is hidden in the SDK and the code makes use of native functions. Does anybody know of a way to go about creating and implementing a wrapper for AudioSystem or of another way to disable the headset? P.S. I've cleaned out the headset port so there is no dust or anything sending false signals to the mainboard. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tyrone

    Hey, I'm wondering how one can do that. Afaik there is BeanFactoryPostProcessor interface that let us use BeanDefinitionRegistry.registerBeanDefinition() method before beans within context are initialized. That method accepts only a class / definition. But usually one needs to register a bean that is already set with properties. Otherwise the bean definition registration itself is kinda useless. I don't want to set it up additionally after I get it from context then. When using singleton it's ok, but for prototypes I'd have to set the bean up for each getBean() .

    I noticed it is possible to set the value of a jQuery UI slider in the following way: $("#mySlider").slider("value", 42); This triggers the event handlers attached to the slider as expected. Now I'm trying to do the same trick using a button (toggle). There does not appear to be a nice way to do this in the API. I might just be missing something simple. I tried the following with no results: $("#myButton").button().click(); Any ideas how to handle that in this case are welcome. Note that it would be awesome to find a solution that applies for a buttonset as well.

    Hi all. I would like to programmaticaly determine the DPI of a user's display in order to show a web page at a precise number of units (centimeters/inches). I know it a weird request: it's for a visualization research project and it's kind of a control. We currently do it by having the user place a credit card to the screen and match a resizable div (via Mootools) to the real credit card, and voila we can get the DPI and display the page correctly. Can anyone think of a programmatic way to do this?

    I am trying to create a C# Winforms application that will automatically log me into a site and download data. Specifically, I want to have my application automatically log into my online banking site, log me in, and download my transaction history. I can do this manually by logging in through a web browser and downloading it. I am trying to automate this. I know I probably need to use HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse. Does anyone have an example of this or a framework of the steps I need to take to accomplish this? Keep in mind it will be secure site (https) and I will somehow have to collect session information and retain the session information for the duration of the session. Any thoughts?

    Hi there, here is the thing, I have to deploy a web app and the the log4j.properties file is created by the client so I dont have control over it. Their properties file is like this: log4j.rootCategory= FILE !-----------FILE--------------! log4j.category.FILE=DEBUG log4j.appender.FILE=org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender log4j.appender.FILE.File=${catalina.base}/logs/rcweb.log log4j.appender.FILE.MaxFileSize=1024KB log4j.appender.FILE.MaxBackupIndex=10 log4j.appender.FILE.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout log4j.appender.FILE.layout.ConversionPattern=%-2d{dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm:ss} [%t] %5p %c:%L - %m%n And in my classes I do something like this: private static final Logger LOG = Logger.getLogger(MaterialController.class); LOG.info("my log"); But the log file has never been created. I did the test and changed the log4j.properties file and deployed in my computer adding the following line: log4j.logger.br.com.golive.requisicaoCompras=DEBUG This works, but I cant use the file like this.     I have a table which I am manipulating with a tableViewController (no nib, and the controller is creating the table behind the scenes) I'm trying to delete a row from the table based on its row number; I can delete it from the array I use to create the cell in cellForRowAtIndexPath, but I get a strange error if I try to do the following, which is the same code as in tableView:commitEditingStyle:forRowAtIndexPath: where it works fine NSIndexPath *indexPath = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:i+1 inSection:1] [self.tableView deleteRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:indexPath] withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationFade]; It gives an error -[_WebSafeForwarder forwardInvocation:] and then jumps out of the method but does not crash the app Can anyone help?

(This enables use of SQL-92 syntax features) Upgrading is (relatively) easy. A call to the JRO.JetEngine object's CompactDatabase method (as described here) should do the trick, but before I do this I need to determine whether an upgrade is required. How do I determine the Jet OLEDB:Engine Type of an existing database? Can this be determined from an open OleDBConnection? Note: I'm talking about database versions, not Jet library versions. C# or .Net solution greatly appreciated.

  • Flex 3: Embedding MovieClip Symbol to Image Control programmatically

    I've reviewed all the documentation and Google results surrounding this and I think I have everything setup correctly. My problem is that the symbol is not appearing in my app. I have a MovieClip symbol that I've embedded to my Flex Component. I need to create a new Image control for each item from my dataProvider and assign this embedded symbol as the Image's source. I thought it was simple but apparently not. I think I understand from the drupal docs, that I am (maybe) looking at <div class="block block-menu_block" id="block-menu_block-1" ==> module := menu_block delta := 1 (?) regrettably, none of the suggested * block-[module]-[delta].tpl.php * block-[module].tpl.php * block-[region].tpl.php placed next to page.tpl.php has any impact (yes, I did clear the cache).

Exit is easy (just starting an intent) but the problem is I don't want my program to be launched again the next time the user click the Home button. I know that this can be done by going in the parameters / Applications / my app / erase default actions but I would like to do it from my program so that the user doesn't have to search this function. How can it be done ?

  • How to Programmatically Identify a PI Font (a Dingbat) under OS X

    There is a class of fonts called Pi fonts whose glyphs, under OS X, get mapped to the private Unicode space 0xF021-0xF0FF such that if you subtract 0xF000 from each unicode character to retrieve the 8-bit version of the character and be able to draw that character as if it were a standard Roman character. My question is how do I recognize these fonts? It's obvious the system can do so because there is a category on the Special Characters palette called "Pi Fonts" which apparently has the various such fonts installed on my system. In my case they are BookshelSymbolSeven, MSReferenceSpeciality, MT-Extras, Marlett, MonotypeSorts, Webdings, and various Wingdings. If I use the old fashioned QuickDraw routines to ask for the TextEncoding of these fonts, I get a value of 0x20000 which I do not see in the system header file TextCommon.h. Am I supposed to treat any font with a TextEncoding of 0x20000 as a Pi Font? And I'd rather not use any QuickDraw font handling routines for obvious reasons.

    Hi There, I currently have an iPhone app that reads data from an external XML file at start-up, and then writes this data to the database (it only reads/writes data that the user's app has not seen before, though) My concern is that there is going to be a back catalogue of data of several years, and that the first time the user runs the app it will have to read this in and be atrociously slow. Our proposed solution is to include this data "pre-built" into the applications database, so that it doesn't have to load in the archival data on first-load - that is already in the app when they purchase it. My question is whether there is a way to automatically populate this data with data from, say, an XML file or something. The database is in SQLite. I would populate it by hand, but obviously this will take a very long time, so I was just wondering if anybody had a more...programmatic solution...
