  • Who Uses Real Time Java?

    - by Jon
I noticed that Real Time Java 2.2 was released back in September, seems to have come a long way from when I last looked at it. However, does anybody know of any real world uses, commercial or academic to date? http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/realtime/index.jsp

  • time to run a program in C

    - by yCalleecharan
Hi, I would like to know what lines of C code to add to a program so that it tells me the total time that the program takes to run. I guess there should be counter initialization near the beginning of main and one after the main function ends. Is the right header clock.h? Thanks a lot...

  • Covert time format in php

    - by brandon14_99
How would I covert a date formatted like this Thu, 08 Jul 2010 15:51:01 into a date like this Thursday July 8th, 2010 3:51 pm. Also, how would I filter the first sting to not include time, so that it could look like this in the end Thursday July 8th, 2010

  • Using DateTime in PHP, generating bad unix epoch time from $foo->format('U')

    - by Jazzepi
I can't seem to get the correct Unix epoch time out of this PHP DateTime object. $startingDateTime = "2005/08/15 1:52:01 am"; $foo = new DateTime($startingDateTime, new DateTimeZone("America/New_York")); echo $foo-format('U'); which gives 1124085121 Which is Mon, 15 Aug 2005 00:52:01 GMT -500 (according to http://www.epochconverter.com/) but that's incorrect by an hour. It SHOULD be 1124088721 and spit back at me as Mon, 15 Aug 2005 01:52:01 GMT -500 Any help would be appreciated.

  • time calculation with awk

    - by vbd
    I've got a file, which looks like: Coding |2010-04-20 12:52|2010-04-20 14:11 Documentation|2010-04-20 22:56|2010-04-21 01:13 Coding |2010-04-21 09:51|2010-04-21 10:58 Coding |2010-04-21 13:11|2010-04-21 14:21 What's the best way - I'm thinking of awk - to do time calculations. As result I expect: 2010-04-20 Coding 69 2010-04-21 Documentation 137 2010-04-21 Coding 137 Can this be done with awk?

  • jQuery time picker

    - by Bernardo
I know there are a few plugins out there but I was wondering if anybody here had a preference for any particular one. I'm looking to fill a text input with a time that the user can choose in 15 minute intervals.

  • Synchronizing time between two Windows 7 machines connected with a LAN cable

    - by Markus Roth
I have a number laptops that run our application while connected to each other in pairs with an ethernet cable, but not connected to any external network or the internet. T I need the connected pair to synchronize their system times, but since every computer needs to be able to synch with any other computer, I can't define one computer to be a time-server and the other to be a client. Is there a way to do this with NTP? Or some other way?

  • How to reduce compile time with C++ templates

    - by Shane MacLaughlin
I'm in the process of changing part of my C++ app from using an older C type array to a templated C++ container class. See this question for details. While the solution is working very well, each minor change I make to the templated code causes a very large amount of recompilation to take place, and hence drastically slows build time. Is there any way of getting template code out of the header and back into a cpp file, so that minor implementation changes don't cause major rebuilds?

  • Measure time in minutes in C

    - by Mark Szymanski
I am writing a program that will need to measure time in minutes. To be exact, it will wait 10 minutes, execute some code, wait 2 minutes, execute more code and repeat this 5 times (anyone guess what I'm trying to do?) and I am wondering how to do the breaks. Thanks in advance! Oh, and by the way, I'm on Mac.

  • Time complexity of Sieve of Eratosthenes algorithm

    - by eSKay
From Wikipedia: The complexity of the algorithm is O(n(logn)(loglogn)) bit operations. How do you arrive at that? That the complexity includes the loglogn term tells me that there is a sqrt(n) somewhere. Suppose I am running the sieve on the first 100 numbers (n = 100), assuming that marking the numbers as composite takes constant time (array implementation), the number of times we use mark_composite() would be something like n/2 + n/3 + n/5 + n/7 + ... + n/97 = O(n) And to find the next prime number (for example to jump to 7 after crossing out all the numbers that are multiples of 5), the number of operations would be O(n). So, the complexity would be O(n^2). Do you agree?

  • Compile-time lookup array creation for ANSI-C?

    - by multiproximus
A previous programmer preferred to generate large lookup tables (arrays of constants) to save runtime CPU cycles rather than calculating values on the fly. He did this by creating custom Visual C++ projects that were unique for each individual lookup table... which generate array files that are then #included into a completely separate ANSI-C micro-controller (Renesas) project. This approach is fine for his original calculation assumptions, but has become tedious when the input parameters need to be modified, requiring me to recompile all of the Visual C++ projects and re-import those files into the ANSI-C project. What I would like to do is port the Visual C++ source directly into the ANSI-C microcontroller project and let the compiler create the array tables. So, my question is: Can ANSI-C compilers compute and generate lookup arrays during compile time? And if so, how should I go about it? Thanks in advance for your help!

  • JFormattedTextField : input time duration value

    - by bguiz
I want to use a JFormattedTextField to allow the user to input time duration values into a form. Sample valid values are: 2h 30m 72h 15m 6h 0h However I am having limited success with this. Can some one please suggest how this can be accomplished? I am OK if this result can be achieved using a JTextField as well. Thanks! If it is worth anything, here's my current attempt: mFormattedText.setFormatterFactory( new DefaultFormatterFactory( new DateFormatter( new SimpleDateFormat("H mm")))); This sorta works except that: I cannot get h and m to appear as plain text (I tried escaping) * The number of hours has a max *: See @nanda's answer

  • Table alias has an effect with execution time?

    - by RedFux227
    So I have this query : SELECT A.e_cd "INFLATE" , A.ccgpt "1" , ( SELECT J.comp FROM JBB J WHERE J.e_cd=A.e_cd AND emplo_RCD=:1 AND J.Dte = ( SELECT MAX(J1.Dte) FROM JBB J1 WHERE J.e_cd=J1.e_cd AND TO_CHAR(J1.Dte,'MM') <=A.mth_to AND TO_CHAR(J1.Dte,'YYYY') <=A.year ) AND J.seq = ( SELECT MAX(J2.seq) FROM PS_JOB J2 WHERE J2.e_cd=J.e_cd AND J2.Dte=J.Dte)) "Company" FROM PPS A WHERE orcd=:2 AND rcd=:3 AND tx_cd=:4 AND year=:5 With this one : SELECT A.e_cd "INFLATE" , A.ccgpt "1" , ( SELECT J.comp FROM JBB J WHERE J.e_cd=A.e_cd AND emplo_RCD=:1 AND J.Dte = ( SELECT MAX(J1.Dte) FROM JBB J1 WHERE J.e_cd=J1.e_cd AND TO_CHAR(J1.Dte,'MM') <=A.mth_to AND TO_CHAR(J1.Dte,'YYYY') <=A.year ) AND J.seq = ( SELECT MAX(J1.seq) **FROM PS_JOB J1 WHERE J1.e_cd=J.e_cd AND J1.Dte=J.Dte**)) "Company" FROM PPS A WHERE orcd=:2 AND rcd=:3 AND tx_cd=:4 AND year=:5 The 1st query run for about 3.20 sec with buffer gets 8,134 and for the 2nd query it run for about 1.73 sec with buffer gets 7,006. So, is the table alias somehow has an impact on the execution time / buffer gets? Thanks in advance!
