• How to configure a longer version Number in artifactory

  The version-numbers for our jars have to be longer them x.x.x. We would rather need x.x.x.x to integrate some old-fashioned self-made mechanism. This is, because we tag our software with x.x.x and as soon as we have a delivery to a customer one specific jar has to be build exactly at this point of time to fit to another backend, which communicates with our program. For that reason this one jar has the version 2.3.4.1, when generated and in next delivery of the same Version it is build and named 2.3.4.2. Now artifactory cannot handle this an doesn't save more than x.x.x.2 in some cases. So we thought of maybe edit the regular expression in the maven repository layout (see attached Screenshot) Because testing the path in the field below shows, that it cannot handle the version number. Of course for the rest of our jars still x.x.x has to work.. For Example here is the maven-metadata.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <metadata> <groupId>com.firm</groupId> <artifactId>someid</artifactId> <version>1.5.1</version> <versioning> <latest>1.5.1</latest> <release>1.5.1</release> <versions> <version>1.4.62</version> </versions> <lastUpdated>20120926073942</lastUpdated> </versioning> </metadata> The folder structure looks like: someid 1.4.62 1.4.62.1 1.4.62.2 1.4.62.3 If we deploy an new artifact version (1.4.62.1), the maven-metadata.xml contains the 1.4.62.1 version. But the artifactory overrides the version number (1.4.62.x) to (1.4.62) after an unspecified time. It seems that the artifactory only support major, minor and revision numbers, and deletes the buildnumber. Now we looking for a solution do disable this behavior. We use the JFrog Artifactory version 2.5.0 (rev. 13086). Any ideas, maybe? Thanks in andvance

I saw with NHProf the sql generating for a select and here's the problem it's generating all the sql correctly but for week datepart.. this is part of the SQL generated: ....Datepart(day, MyDate) ... ....Datepart(month, MyDate) ... ....Datepart(year, MyDate) ... ....Datepart(hour, MyDate) ... ....Datepart(minute, MyDate) ... ....Datepart(second, MyDate) ... ....Datepart(this_.week, MyDate) ... where this_ is the alias for the table that nhibernate uses. so it's treating the week keyword for the datepart stuff as a column or something like that.   I am looking for a way to format a floating point number dynamically in either standard decimal format or scientific notation, depending on the value of the number. For moderate magnitudes, the number should be formatted as a decimal with trailing zeros suppressed. If the floating point number is equal to an integral value, the decimal point should also be suppressed. For extreme magnitudes (very small or very large), the number should be expressed in scientific notation. Alternately stated, if the number of characters in the expression as standard decimal notation exceeds a certain threshold, switch to scientific notation. I should have control over the maximum number of digits of precision, but I don't want trailing zeros appended to express the minimum precision; all trailing zeros should be suppressed. Basically, it should optimize for compactness and readability. 2.80000 - 2.8 765.000000 - 765 0.0073943162953 - 0.00739432 (limit digits of precision—to 6 in this case) 0.0000073943162953 - 7.39432E-6 (switch to scientific notation if the magnitude is small enough—less than 1E-5 in this case) 7394316295300000 - 7.39432E+6 (switch to scientific notation if the magnitude is large enough—for example, when greater than 1E+10) 0.0000073900000000 - 7.39E-6 (strip trailing zeros from significand in scientific notation) 0.000007299998344 - 7.3E-6 (rounding from the 6-digit precision limit causes this number to have trailing zeros which are stripped) Here's what I've found so far: The .toString() method of the Number class does most of what I want, except it doesn't upconvert to integer representation when possible, and it will not express large integral magnitudes in scientific notation. Also, I'm not sure how to adjust the precision. The "%G" format string to the String.format(...) function allows me to express numbers in scientific notation with adjustable precision, but does not strip trailing zeros. I'm wondering if there's already some library function out there that meets these criteria. I guess the only stumbling block for writing this myself is having to strip the trailing zeros from the significand in scientific notation produced by %G.

• Sorting in Lua, counting number of items

  Two quick questions (I hope...) with the following code. The script below checks if a number is prime, and if not, returns all the factors for that number, otherwise it just returns that the number prime. Pay no attention to the zs. stuff in the script, for that is client specific and has no bearing on script functionality. The script itself works almost wonderfully, except for two minor details - the first being the factor list doesn't return itself sorted... that is, for 24, it'd return 1, 2, 12, 3, 8, 4, 6, and 24 instead of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24. I can't print it as a table, so it does need to be returned as a list. If it has to be sorted as a table first THEN turned into a list, I can deal with that. All that matters is the end result being the list. The other detail is that I need to check if there are only two numbers in the list or more. If there are only two numbers, it's a prime (1 and the number). The current way I have it does not work. Is there a way to accomplish this? • Adaptec 2420SA RAID 1 rebuild 66% after 1 week

  We're running a 500GB RAID 1 on an Adaptec 2420SA - 2x500GB Hitachi Drives. It suddenly crashed and required a rebuild -- was not even booting. It's only at 66% after about a week. Very frustrated. This is the second box with the same card and drives that has had issues with the RAID/drives. Another box had this happen twice. Both machines are Linux boxes. CentOS and Fedora. I dunno if it's the firmware -- which currently needs an update (any help doing this over PXE would be great- I have used UDA to do PXE boots in the past). Anyway, would love to hear about experiences with this card and firmware. I thinking of going google and just using cheap boxes no raid and have server redundancy instead.

  We're running unattended-upgrades on debian squeeze, and would like it to run once a week, only on a Wednesday morning. To attempt this, we have set: APT::Periodic::Unattended-Upgrade "7" in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades And then touched the /var/lib/apt/periodic/update-stamp to set the timestamp to a Wednesday, for instance: touch -t 201211280000 /var/lib/apt/periodic/update-stamp Running: stamp=$(date --date=$(date -r /var/lib/apt/periodic/update-stamp --iso-8601) +%s 2/dev/null) date -u --date="1970-01-01 $stamp sec GMT" Gives the correct timestamp: Wed Nov 28 00:00:00 UTC 2012 However, unattended-upgrades then seems to ignore this, and run the updates on a Saturday morning. Could anyone enlighten me as to how this parameter works, and how to set up upgrades to run on a Wednesday?

• Microsoft Outlook: show multi-day appointments as boxes in calendar day and week view

  I would like to show appointments spanning several days the same way as appintments within a single day. Single day appointments are shown with a white or colored box, covering the day horizontally. Multi-day appointments are shown in the day/week header and are indicated blue or purple on the left side of a day. This happens even if a multi-day appointment is not an all-day appointment (i.e. checkbox is off) and I have a start and end time. I frequently have a hard time seeing appointment overlaps wenn acceping single day appointments. Therefore I am looking for multi-day appointments shown the same way as single day appointments. I am on Outlook 2003.

• New Kingson SSD drive fails after 1 week

  I upgraded the hard disk in my notebook to a 128GB Kingston SSD V100. Everything worked fine for about a week then out of the blue the notebook would not boot up any more. A black dos-like screen was shown with the options to try and boot normally or attempt to repair windows. Neither option would do anything. When I removed the drive and tested it in an external usb case no other computers are able to access the drive either. Is there anything I can try to fix it myself? The drive is partitioned into three drives and when it's connected through an external usb case to another computer I can see the partitions, just can't access anything on them. Does this mean the drive might be recoverable?

• Java - Tile engine changing number in array not changing texture

  I draw my map from a txt file. Would I have to write to the text file to notice the changes I made? Right now it changes the number in the array but the tile texture doesn't change. I have the typical 2 functions of list records and show total number of records (using the page as an alternative). The problem is that they are rather large.   When I was using subversion for the code for an application, I could append a period and the result of svnversion to the version number to create a unique and monotone-increasing version number and also be guaranteed that any check-out of the same revision of the code would generate the same version number. In Mercurial, because revision numbers are not necessarily consistent across clones, the local revision number is not suitable. The hash is appropriately unique and consistent, but does not create a number that is monotone-increasing. How can I generate a suitable number to append to the version number based on the Mercurial repository commits?

  I am developing an application for a medical channelling centre where multiple users reserve bookings for doctors with JSF and JPA. A sequence number is unique to the Doctor, Date and Session. I tried to get a unique sequence number from counting the previous bookings and add one, but if two requests comes at the same time, two bookings get the same number causing trouble to functionality. How can I get unique number in this case? Can I use an application wide bean to generate it? (I thought it is not practicle to get the unique number from the database sequence number as there are several doctors, sessions and daily they have to have different booking number.)

The different values can be slightly different or more than double.   About 30 Oct I ran recent updates for 12.04 64bit. No errors occurred. Next day when I booted computer most apps would not start or if started (eg Chrome) other app windows do not appear. Trying a command line start on most apps gives this message: "Maximum number of clients reachedError: cannot open display: :0" The 'error' part of message not always the same. Have tried to find solution on Ubuntu forums and other Linux web sites, but cannot find a solution. HELP please.

  I recently figured out, that the web site of my phone provider (mobile) mysteriously identifies me and automatically logs me into my account when I'm accessing with my android phone, as if it knew my phone number. (I used several browsers. When I'm using the phone as WLAN hotspot and access the same site from another device that doesn't happen.) How does my phone provider do that? On the one hand, as a programmer, I'd like to be able to do that too, but on the other hand, as a user, I'm kind of scared. What information do they have, such that they (believe they) are able to identify me just by my device? I hope this question isn't completely inappropriate for this site; feel free to add better tags — it's hard to find the right ones without knowing the Webmasters site at all.

  OK, I feel stupid asking this - but in Jeff's article: Getting the Interview Phone Screen Right and originally stated in the 5 essential phone screen questions: They shouldn't stare blankly at you when you ask with 2^16 is. It's a special number. They should know it. I've been a developer\software engineer\code monkey\whatever for a little while now, and I don't think I've ever come across this. I mean, I can certainly count binary values do basic operations on them, etc, etc. But I don't see what is "special" about this value.
