  • Google Analytics Widget Tracking

    - by Kevin Lamb
Hello, I have a form that is generated on a customer's website (lets say customer.com) with javascript that a user fills out and it sends to my site (app.com). I would like to be able to provide information to the customer such as how effective their AdWords campaign was and what search engines users used to end up filling out the form. I have started looking at the multiple domain linking option but I am not sure this is the right way. Is there a way to query what search engine and key words they used and pass this along with the form?

  • Why has Google toolbar has stopped working in Firefox 3.6.8?

    - by DanM
Yesterday, I noticed that my Google Toolbar has stopped working. The toolbar is still there, but it is completely blank (no buttons or input fields, just a gray strip of nothing). In addition to this, tooltips have stopped working. If I disable the toolbar, the tooltips return to normal, so that particular problem definitely seems to be a side effect of the toolbar. I tried disabling all my other add-ons, but that made no difference. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Google Toolbar. That made no difference. I haven't tried reinstalling the browser, but I'm reluctant to do that unless absolutely necessary. Am I the only one having this problem? Any ideas how to fix? Note: I'm running Windows XP SP3. I'm using Google Toolbar version 7.1.20100723W.

  • Google Maps openInfoWindowHTML array problem

    - by user188791
    Could someone please help explain why I can't get this to work? I properly generates all the locations, however, it doesn't generate the info boxes. Why is this and can someone help me with it? var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); map.addControl(new GSmallMapControl()); map.addControl(new GMapTypeControl()); map.setCenter(new GLatLng(47.6062, -122.3321), 8); var wa_locations = new Array(new Array("Seattle", "47.6062", "-122.3321", "###-###-####", "###-###-####"), new Array("Bellevue", "47.6104", "-122.2007", "###-###-####", "###-###-####"), new Array("Tacoma", "47.2529", "-122.4443", "###-###-####", "###-###-####"), new Array("Everett", "47.9790", "-122.2021", "###-###-####", "###-###-####")); for(var i = 0; i < wa_locations.length; i++) { var point = new GLatLng(wa_locations[i][1], wa_locations[i][2]); map.addOverlay(new GMarker(point)); GEvent.addListener(point, "click", function() { point.openInfoWindowHtml("<b>" + wa_locations[i][0] + "</b><br/>Sales: " + wa_locations[i][3] + "<br/>Helpdesk: " + wa_locations[i][4] + ""); }); }

  • Google App Engine Memcache - Sliding expiration

    - by Keyur
Is there support for sliding expiration in the GAE MemcacheService? I can do a crude implementation where following every get() I do a put(). This will effectively reset the expiration time but this obviously is not an efficient solution. Any pointers on how I can implement this more efficiently? Thanks, Keyur

  • Google Sitemap and Robots.txt Issue

    - by Sarfaraz Soomro
Hi, We have a sitemap at our site, http://www.gamezebo.com/sitemap.xml Some of the urls in the sitemap, are being reported in the webmaster central as being blocked by our robots.txt, see, gamezebo.com/robots.txt ! Although these urls are not Disallowed in Robots.txt. There are other such urls aswell, for example, gamezebo.com/gamelinks is present in our sitemap, but it's being reported as "URL restricted by robots.txt". Also I have this parse result in the Webmaster Central that says, "Line 21: Crawl-delay: 10 Rule ignored by Googlebot". What does it mean? I appreciate your help, Thanks.

  • Using Javascript in Google Web Optimizer Page Sections

    - by Chris S
Is it possible to use Javascript in the content of a page section variation? I want different variations to make different Javascript function calls, so I have variation content like: Variation 1 <script type="text/javascript">my_func('abc');</script> Variation 2 <script type="text/javascript">my_func('def');</script> However, when I preview my page, I can't verify that my_func(content){ alert(content); } is actually being run. Does GWO not support JS content, or am I missing something?

  • Google Maps, marker info window won't show up ?

    - by user296516
    Hi guys, I have written this code that loops through an array of lat/long coordinates and places a marker at each of the coordinate. Everything forks fine, exempt the info window won't appear once the marker is clicked. var ExpTowerIcon = new GIcon(); ExpTowerIcon.image = "tower.png"; ExpTowerIcon.iconSize = new GSize(75, 75); ExpTowerIcon.iconAnchor = new GPoint(37, 65); ExpTowerIcon.infoWindowAnchor = new GPoint(37, 20); var marker=new Array(); for ( i=0 ; i < lat.length ; i++ ) { var MarkerPoint = new GLatLng(lat[i],long[i]); marker[i] = new GMarker(MarkerPoint,{icon:ExpTowerIcon}) map.addOverlay( marker[i] ); GEvent.addListener( marker[i] , 'click', function() { marker[i].openInfoWindowHtml('Hello!') ; }); var polyline = new GPolyline([ new GLatLng(lat[i],long[i]) , new GLatLng(lat[i+1],long[i+1]) ], "#ff0000", 5); map.addOverlay(polyline); } Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Google Analytics - async tracking with two accounts

    - by MatW
I'm currently testing GAs new async code snippet using two different tracking codes on the same page; _gaq.push( ['_setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXXXX-1'], ['_trackPageview'], ['b._setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXXXX-2'], ['b._trackPageview'] ); Although both codes work, I've noticed that they present inconsistent results. Now, we aren't talking huge differences here, only 1 or 2 visits / day every now and then. However, this site is tiny and 1 or 2 visits equates to a 15% difference in figures. Now, the final site has much more traffic, but my concerns are; will this inconsistancy scale with traffic? assuming not, is a slight variation in recorded stats an accepted norm?

  • Google App Engine Needs Index Error

    - by Andrew Johnson
I am currently getting a needs index error on my app engine app: http://www.gaiagps.com/wiki/home. I believe this index should have been created automatically by my index.yaml file (see below). Googling a bit, I think I just need to wait for my index to be built. Is this correct, or do I need to do something manually? Is there some sort of index-building queue? My tables are very, very small right now. EDIT: I added the line "indexes:" to my app.yaml, and now app engine reports the index is building, so I think this is fixed. It's weird that this file was wrong considering I've never touched it. indexes: # AUTOGENERATED # This index.yaml is automatically updated whenever the dev_appserver # detects that a new type of query is run. If you want to manage the # index.yaml file manually, remove the above marker line (the line # saying "# AUTOGENERATED"). If you want to manage some indexes # manually, move them above the marker line. The index.yaml file is # automatically uploaded to the admin console when you next deploy # your application using appcfg.py. - kind: Revision properties: - name: name - name: created The app works on my dev server, but not in production. However, on my dev console, I have noticed this error (EDIT: THIS ERROR IS GONE NOW THAT I ADDED indexes: to the app.yaml file above): ERROR 2009-10-18 04:46:51,908 dev_appserver_index.py:176] Error parsing /gaiagps.com/index.yaml: 'NoneType' object is not callable in "<string>", line 13, column 3: - kind: Revision ^

  • Google Maps: How does Trulia create their custom InfoWIndows?

    - by NickT
I really like how Trulia.com has created their custom Google Map InfoWindows. What I like in particular about Trulia's implementation of the InfoWindow is: Extends beyond the map border: Google Maps InfoWindows are contained within the map border whereas Trulia's seems to be able to float on-top of the map Always displays InfoWindow near map Center: Google Maps InfoWindows always display the InfoWindow above the marker whereas Trulia InfoWindows always display the InfoWindow as close the center of the map as possible. For example, if the map marker icon is on the top of the map near the border, the Trulia InfoWindow is displayed below the map marker icon InfoWindow is displayed on mouse hover (not 'click'): With the default Google Maps InfoWindow, you have to 'click' the map marker icon to display the InfoWindow whereas Trulia InfoWindows are display simply by hovering over the map marker icon. I found the PdMarker, which is a 3rd party extension for Google Map InfoWindows that accomplishes most of the above bullets but not all. 1) It does not extend beyond the map border, 2) it does not work with Google Maps API version 3 (only version 2). Anyone know how Trulia is accomplishing their InfoWindow-like implementation on Google Maps API v3?

  • Learning the Introspection API (used by FxCop)

    - by Anand Patel
Microsoft's FxCop tool uses the introspection API. This introspection API could be used to develop new code analysis tools. But the introspection api is not documented well. Additionally, I was not able to figure out any blogs which explains this API in breadth and depth of it. The knowledge gained by understanding the API can also be used for writing custom FxCop rules. Does anybody knows about any blog or resources which explains the same?

  • Types in Python - Google Appengine

    - by Chris M
Getting a bit peeved now; I have a model and a class thats just storing a get request in the database; basic tracking. class SearchRec(db.Model): WebSite = db.StringProperty()#required=True WebPage = db.StringProperty() CountryNM = db.StringProperty() PrefMailing = db.BooleanProperty() DateStamp = db.DateTimeProperty(auto_now_add=True) IP = db.StringProperty() class AddSearch(webapp.RequestHandler): def get(self): searchRec = SearchRec() searchRec.WebSite = self.request.get('WEBSITE') searchRec.WebPage = self.request.get('WEBPAGE') searchRec.CountryNM = self.request.get('COUNTRY') searchRec.PrefMailing = bool(self.request.get('MAIL')) searchRec.IP = self.request.get('IP') Bool has my biscuit; I thought that setting bool(self.reque....) would set the type of the string but no matter what I pass it it still stores it as TRUE in the database. I had the same issue with using required=True on strings for the model; the damn thing kept saying that nothing was being passed... but it had. Ta

  • Let multiple highcharts charts appear automatically from mysql data

    - by martini1993
I have the following problem. I want to make multiple Highcharts webcharts appear automatically based on the data from the database. Let's say we have the following database: ___________________________________________________________________ | | | | | | | | Year | Month | ID | Name User | Wins | Losses | |_______|___________|______|_______________|____________|__________| | 2013 1 21 Tony Stark 3 12 | | 2013 1 52 Bruce Wayne 5 4 | | 2013 1 76 Clark Kent 9 5 | |__________________________________________________________________| (This database is an example, there are a lot more rows in the real database.) And i have the following query: SELECT a.year AS year1, a.month AS month1, a.id AS id, a.name AS nameuser, a.wins AS wins, a.losses AS losses FROM Sales a WHERE a.month = 1 AND a.year = YEAR(NOW()) With this, it is very easy to hardcode a chart with Highcharts. But what I want is that there has to be a webchart per user. So instead of a single webchart with all the users in it, I want multiple charts next to each other based on the data from the database. So instead of this: http://jsfiddle.net/CWSb6/ I want this (But then next to each other): http://jsfiddle.net/DReMD/ It has to be generated automatically with php and mysql. So if there is a new user starting this month, and the new user is saved in the database, the page automatically displays the new user with the related web chart. I find this very hard to accomplish and I need some help to get to the right direction for the solution. Many thanks in advance! (Sorry for my bad english.)

  • Large Y-axis tickInterval in high charts does not work

    - by ckovacs
I have a chart at this JSFiddle to demonstrate a problem where our charts are not respecting the y-axis tick interval for large values: http://jsfiddle.net/z2cDu/1/ var plots = {"usBytePlots":[[1362009600000,143663192997],[1362096000000,110184848742],[1362182400000,97694974247],[1362268800000,90764690805],[1362355200000,112436517747],[1362441600000,113563368701],[1362528000000,139579327454],[1362614400000,118406594506],[1362700800000,125366899935],[1362787200000,134189435596],[1362873600000,132873135854],[1362960000000,121002328604],[1363046400000,123138222001],[1363132800000,115667785553],[1363219200000,103746172138],[1363305600000,108602633473],[1363392000000,89133998142],[1363478400000,92170701458],[1363564800000,86696922873],[1363651200000,80980159054],[1363737600000,97604615694],[1363824000000,108011666339],[1363910400000,124419138381],[1363996800000,121704988344],[1364083200000,124337959109],[1364169600000,137495512348],[1364256000000,136017103319],[1364342400000,60867510427]],"dsBytePlots":[[1362009600000,1734982247336],[1362096000000,1471928923201],[1362182400000,1453869593201],[1362268800000,1411787942581],[1362355200000,1460252447519],[1362441600000,1595590020177],[1362528000000,1658007074783],[1362614400000,1411941908699],[1362700800000,1447659369450],[1362787200000,1643008799861],[1362873600000,1792357973023],[1362960000000,1575173242169],[1363046400000,1565139003978],[1363132800000,1549211975554],[1363219200000,1438411448469],[1363305600000,1380445413578],[1363392000000,1298319283929],[1363478400000,1194578344720],[1363564800000,1211409679299],[1363651200000,1142416351471],[1363737600000,1223822672626],[1363824000000,1267692136487],[1363910400000,1384335759541],[1363996800000,1577205919828],[1364083200000,1675715948928],[1364169600000,1517593781592],[1364256000000,1562183018457],[1364342400000,681007264598]],"aggregatedTotalBytes":43476367948896,"aggregatedUsBytes":3150320403841,"aggregatedDsBytes":40326047545055,"maxTotalBytes":328186292129,"maxTotalBitsPerSecond":30387619.641574074} ; $('#container').highcharts({ yAxis: { tickInterval: 53687091200 // 500 gigabytes. The chart has a maximum value of about 1.8TB. We set the y-axis tick interval to exactly 500GB but the rendered y-axis ticks don't make any sense for the given interval.

  • django search and filter in Google App Engine

    - by alexarsh
Hi, I'm trying to add filter and search to my site. It's exactly the same code as in another working django project. The difference is that this time I do it with app engine. my views: http://slexy.org/view/s21GMw2sh1 I have 2 problems: 1.) I get error: "'Query' object has no attribute 'all'" on line 59 in views. As I understand it's something to do with the fact that GAE queryset is different from django queryset. How can I fix that? 2.) If I have 'search' in my request.GET I also fall on line 54 in my views. This is because I can't search by Q object in GAE, I guess. How can I fix that? Thanks, Alex A.

  • Need Help with Consolidating RoR Google Map Results

    - by Kevin
I have a project that returns geocoded results within 20 miles of the user. I want these results grouped on the map by zip code, then within the info window show the individual results. The code posted below works, but for some reason it only displays the 1.png rather than looking at the results and using the correct .png icon associated with the number. When I look at the infowindows, it displays the correct png like "/images/2.png" or "/images/5.png" but the actual image is always 1. @ziptickets = Ticket.find(:all, :origin => coords, :select => 'DISTINCT zip, lat, lng', :within => @user.distance_to_travel, :conditions => "status_id = 1") for t in @ziptickets zips = Ticket.find(:all, :conditions => ["zip = ?", t.zip]) currentzip = t.zip.to_s tixinzip = zips.size.to_s imagelocation = "/images/" + tixinzip + ".png" shadowlocation = "/images/" + tixinzip + "s.png" @map.icon_global_init(GIcon.new(:image => imagelocation, :shadow => shadowlocation, :shadow_size => GSize.new(60,40), :icon_anchor => GPoint.new(20,20), :info_window_anchor => GPoint.new(9,2)), "test") newicon = Variable.new("test") new_marker = GMarker.new([t.lat, t.lng], :icon => newicon, :title => imagelocation, :info_window => currentzip) @map.overlay_init(new_marker) end I tried changing the last part of the mapicon from: :info_window_anchor => GPoint.new(9,2)), "test") newicon = Variable.new("test") to: :info_window_anchor => GPoint.new(9,2)), currentzip) newicon = Variable.new(currentzip) but the strangest thing is that any string that has numbers in it causes the map to fail to render in the view and just show a blank screen... same if I replace it with :info_window_anchor => GPoint.new(9,2)), "123") newicon = Variable.new("123") Any advice would be helpful... also it runs a bit slower than my previous code which just set up 4 standard icons and used them outside of the loop so any hints as to speed up execution would be appreciated greatly. Thanks!
