  i JUST PUT A asp:ScriptManager WITH IN MY LOGIN PAGE AND FOR THE USE OF A TAG CLOUD . AND AFTER LOGIN PROVIDING UNAME AND PWORD REDIRECT TO HOME PAGE. HOME PAGE CONSIST OF A MASTER PAGE AND I PUT A asp:ScriptManager WITH IN THE MASTER FILE. BUT WHEN THE HOME PAGE LOADING THE FOLLOWING ERROR APPEARS "The control with ID 'AutoCompleteExtender1' requires a ScriptManager on the page. The ScriptManager must appear before any controls that need it. " HOME PAGE HAVE SEVERAL CONTROLS USE WITH AJAX. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME ???

• h:graphicimage not working in c:foreach

  I have used c:forEach loop for display the list of images using h:graphicImage. But I can't display the images. I have the h:commandLink also in my page. The image have to be displayed at the time of form inititalization. But its not working. But after click the h:commandlink, the images are displayed properly. Before that it shows the image not found text (alt message). I have used h:graphicImage tag like below <c:forEach items="#{Sample.imageList}" var="images" varstatus="imageStatus"> <h:graphicimage id="image" url="#{images}" alt="Image Not Found"/> </c:forEach> What I do wrong in that and how can I achieve that?

• Web page with embedded .NET control in IBM WebSphere 6.1

  Hello, I have very simple web page with embedded .NET control in it via the <object> tag. The problem is that when I deploy it to an IIS server it works fine (the .NET control is shown). The same is for the Apache server. But when I deploy it to the WebSphere server I get the html but the .NET control does not appear. Probably it is some kind of a server configuration issue, but I cannot figure it out. I would appreciate any suggestions. Best regards!

• Setting a Global Doctype

  Is it possible using PHP (I was thinking may the phpinfo file or a php.ini file) or an .htaccess file to set a doctype for an entire subdirectory? Basically, in a nutshell, I'm using a software that uses XSL templates to output data to a set of HTML files. Modifying the xsl:output tag to include the doctype breaks the template and therefore, does not work. Just adding the doctype in the XSL file, breaks it as well. I need the proper doctypes in place for my CSS to function properly, cross-browser. I realize that I could add the doctype to the HTML files after export but, I'm really striving to automate this process. Any thoughts?

• jquery disable rule validation on a single field

  I am using mvc to create forms that are generated at runtime. For validation, I am trying my hand at the jquery validation library which is very convenient to use. I have the validation expression of each field in the cdata attribute of the tag <input type="text" name="xyz" id="xyz" class="defaultTextBox" cdata="{validate:{required:true, decimal:true, messages: {required:'Please enter an decimal value', decimal:'Please enter a valid decimal'}}}"> This works beautifully. Now one more requirement I have is that some fields are being shown and hidden according to the logic on the page and I need to disable the validation on the hidden fields such that they do not interfere with the form submission. Just toggling the required:true to false and back to true should be enough. Only i do not know how. Anyone has any experience with that?

• HtmlUnit doesn't load externally referenced javascript

  I have run into a problem while trying to test a web application with HtmlUnit. Please bear in mind that I haven't used HtmlUnit very long so I might be missing something trivial. For some reason externally referenced javascripts aren't being loaded. When I print the page as xml all i get is this: <script language="javascript" src="urltofile.js"> </script> As you can see the script tag is empty when it should contain the javascript. What am I missing? I have googled for a solution all morning but haven't found any relevant information. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• jQuery code works in Firebug, but not on its own

  I'm having quite the brainbuster of an issue right now. I am trying to change a link's hash tag at the end from "respond" to "comments" with jQuery. I have a simple script that should do this, however it does not work. The link does not change. However, Firebug shows no errors and when I run the code in Firebug's console, it works just as I intend. Why doesn't this work on its own? Does anybody have a solution, I'm at my wits edge with this one.   I am trying to search the "this" object in an ASP.NET MVC 2 for a string value. In a view, I set the partial view input tag prefix and am trying to figure out how to reference it in the partial view itself. For example: Html.EditorFor(m => m, "templateName", "fieldPrefix"); In the partial view, I would like to search the "this" object for my fieldPrefix string to see where the MVC folks decided to store it. Which videos have: For Title exact phrase will get 0.5 points For Description exact phrase will get 0.4 points For tags exact phrase will get 0.3 points For title all words will get 0.2 points For description all words will get 0.2 points For title one or more words will get 0.1 points For description one or more words will get 0.1 points And I will show these videos on basis of points. What will be the SQL Query for this? A LINQ query will be more better. If you know a better way to achieve this, please help.

  I am integrating WebKit (via Qt) into an application. Instead of having WebKit retrieve scripts, CSS files and images via URLs, I want my application to provide them (e.g. retrieved from a database). For example, a "regular" web page may contain this tag: <IMG src="photos/album1/123456.jpg"> Instead of WebKit fetching this image from a server or the file system, I would prefer some kind of callback that allows my application to provide this image. How can I accomplish this?

• Possible to bind an event listener to a (hypothetical) onChangeInnerHTML event?

  In my app, I have an OL tag whose contents are changed by various other dynamic events. Is there some way to put a listener on that OL so that I can execute a function whenever its contents are altered in any way? In this example I need to update a count of items in the list which appears in another spot in the interface. I am using jQuery if that helps. The contents of the OL are being changed with OL.append() and LI.remove(), in case those methods have some special events that I don't know about Thanks!

• Programatically opening an xml file in MS Word

  I'm opening an xml file in Microsoft Word 2007 using C#. I'm using an xsl file to define the layout which worked up to the point that I needed to include an image. I used the typical src html tag and the image displays when the xml is viewed in ie but not when it's opened in Word. I get the image place holder so I can only assume Word simply can't find the image. It's sitting next to both the xml file and xsl file but that doesn't make any difference. To open the document I'm passing the filenames for both the xml and xsl. I would imagine that as the src is in the xsl it would just look relative to one of these files. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. [EDIT] Apologies I lost track of this one. I fixed it in the end. I'll check what my solution was tomorrow and update this.

  Some of us here(or is it just me?) enjoy programming. Even if we're not being paid for it, and in some cases, even though the end result will not do anything for us. For example, many people do the Project Euler problems just for fun, and in the end nothing was really "accomplished" materially. What is it that makes us enjoy programming? How is programming different from another job? You don't see an accountant going home to do some accounting on their own time just for the pure joy of it. How are we different? (also, if anyone has some ideas on how to tag this, then please do correct it for me.. )

• Which video format(s) should a webapp serve?

  I need to put up a few videos on a Webapp and I'm a bit lost. My requirements are: DRM is not a concern at all it should work on the iPhone (and iPad) and on the main browsers (Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera). it is not a problem at all if the video doesn't play on Linux (because it's a video/screencast of a Windows/OS X software targetted at, well, Windows and OS X users) it is not a problem at all if it also works on Linux (I'm a Linux user myself) Can a unique format be served (like H.264) and play without any additional work on my part or do I need to convert the videos to different formats and have the webapp serve different video formats depending on the browser used? Should I use the "video" tag of HTML5 when I detect an HTML5 capable browser? What's the "safest" bet here? I take it that Flash is out of the equation seen that iPhone/iPad is a requirement.

  Many email clients don't like linked CSS stylesheets, or even the embedded <style> tag, but rather want the CSS to appear inline as style attributes on all your markup. BAD: <link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="/style.css"> BAD: <style type="text/css">...</style> WORKS: <h1 style="margin: 0">...</h1> However this inline style attribute approach is a right pain to manage. I've found tools for Ruby and PHP that will take a CSS file and some separate markup as input and return you the merged result - a single file of markup with all the CSS converted to style attributes. I'm looking for a Perl solution to this problem, but I've not found one on CPAN or by searching Google. Any pointers?   While working on an existing Drupal site I've noticed a strange glitch that causes any PHP operator with in it to act like a ? tag. This is happening in in Drupal pages that I create that have a 'Input Format' of 'PHP code'. • How to determine the inner context node within an XSLT select

  Hi there! I'm trying to determine a subset of nodes stored in the variable objs by using a user defined function cube:is_active: <xsl:variable name="active_cubes" select="$objs[cube:is_active(XXX) = 'TRUE']"/ Since the function does not allow a local context I'm required to pass it as a parameter (denoted by XXX). However, the usual suspects "." or "current()" do not work since they refer to context node of the surrounding block and NOT to the current element of objs which is evaluated. The only solution so far which DOES work is: XXX=SOME_CHILD_TAG/.. But this is really ugly since it depends on the existence of the child tag for the parent node to work correctly. Is there any other way? Thanks!

• How to count new lines in Internet Explorer?

  Hey, all. I'm doing my own syntax highlighter for Javascript and CSS, and I've run into an issue with Internet Explorer (big surprise). I grab all the contents of a code.block tag (example below) using innerHTML, and .split("\n") that result to get each line by itself. This works wonderfully except in IE. I have tried using innerText and .split("\r\n") also without success. Can anyone recommend a solution? • How to use GWT on mobile devices?

  hi I have a fairly large web application developed with GWT (and EJB). However on mobile devices (like windows mobile, black berry and such) the GWT start page remains simply white. I'm using GWT 1.6 and also tried 1.7 but nothing helps. It seems that the java script isn't executing and also isn't the noscript tag. Do you know how to make it working without rewriting the whole application in e.g. PHP?? I think it may be a general prob with GWT apps and not with my specific app. thx

• Permissions error for a signed Java applet when including external JAR files

  I have a signed Java applet. And it works fine. But now I have to integrate some 3rd party JAR files with it. When I test it from Eclipse, the whole thing works correctly. But when I test it as an applet, it gives me a FilePermission error. I thought this was because those 3rd party JAR files don't have a java.policy.applet within them. But manually adding the policy file doesn't get rid of the error. What am I missing? Thanks! ============================ All the 3rd party JAR files sit on the server filesystem like so: A.jar, B.jar, C.jar.
