  • Execute code when loading an Eclipse perspective

    Hi, I'm creating an Eclipse plug-in which amongst other things creates a new perspective. I want to I execute some code when the perspective loads. Previously I was doing this through createInitialLayout of IPerspectiveFactory but then I realized that this is for defining the page layout only and is usually called when when launching the perspective for the first time only.   • Changing the height of an existing, visible TextView

    Hi I'd like to programatically increase the height allocated to a TextView, and have the activity layout redrawn accordingly (the text view has a maximum height until the user clicks it, then it takes up all height required, wrap_content). setHeight() isn't working, even coupled with invalidate() or postInvalidate(). I am able to change the contents of the TextBox with setText() but it isn't altering the existing specified height. Android 1.5 under the 1.6 SDK.

I have a pages controller with a few static pages, for the home page I simply have def home @title = 'Home and similar for contact pages etc. Then in my main layout file I have <body class="<%= @title %>"> and this works fine to set the correct css, but how do I set @title for my other controllers where there's more than one action?

    I'm working on a Red Hat Linux server. VNC server started to act weird (i.e. the sessions became Spartan). So I decided to reboot VNC server. I keep getting the following error message: "unable to start Xvnc, exiting" Does anyone know what this means? The best thing I could come up via Google was that some packages needed to be updated, but everything was already up to date.

  • Printer features don't work when printing to Canon Printers ir5185 and ir7095 in Snow Leopard

    Recently updated to iMac running Snow Leopard. Connected Canon printers ir7095 and ir5185 via ethernet and downloaded latest drivers from Canon website. Can print to both from InDesign CS3, however, when I select printer features such as heavy paper and printing to stack bypass, it prints but just defaults to plain paper in drawer 1. Also, when printing to ir7095, 0001 prints five times on sheet in background. Is there any way to get the printer features that are available to work?

However I didn't know how Sysprep worked before attempting this so it was a time-consuming nightmare (even after reviewing VMware vSphere ESXi 5's documentation)! I think I've figure out what I'm supposed to be doing, but it's still not working. The biggest problem at this point is that vSphere Client vCenter Customization Specification IP address information is not sticking when I load a Sysprep XML file with just 1 basic setting! This can only be a bug. Here is the process I'm using: PROCESS for Windows - vSphere Client Install Windows OS install VM Tools customize Windows (GPOs can be used to do this after deployment) install Applications (GPOs can be used to do this after deployment too) shutdown the VM convert the VM to a template create a custom Windows Sysprep XML answer file with desired customizations View Management Customization Specifications Manager create "New" Specification for "Target Virtual Machine OS" select Windows check "Use Custom Sysprep Answer File" (ADDS: Custom Sysprep File. KEEPS: Network (IP), Operating System Options (SID, Sysprep /generalize).   • cron doesn't execute it's commands

    I created an own small server with Debian. Last night i updated it. It created an error while generating the initrd and it didn't boot. Today i booted from another filesystem and did dpkg --configure -a with chroot. I also checked the filesystem. Now everything should be ok. But cron doesn't work:-( It is the same /etc/crontab-File but it doesn't work. I reinstalled cron and tried many things. Is there a way to see cron's log? I only readed about rsyslog, but i have not installed rsyslog, because the server is based on a minimal system (Freeagent Dockstar). Has someone an idea? Best regards Silvio Keller Update There is no file /var/log/syslog and dpkg -l|grep syslog gives me no output, so i think syslog is not installed. It is only a minimal system. cron -l gives: cron: can't lock /var/run/crond.pid, otherpid may be 687: Resource temporarily unavailable So i stopped cron with /etc/init.d/cron stop and executed cron -l again, this gives no output. At this moment i tried to start cron with /etc/init.d/cron start: Starting periodic command scheduler: cron failed! But there's no additional error info... But i see there's now in the background a proccess called cron -l which runs. If i stop it /etc/init.d/cron start works: Starting periodic command scheduler: cron. I used the crontab-file /etc/crontab, this worked for me always. Till i updated my kernel and the initrd it doesn't.   • How to tell if a freebsd jail is up to date?

    I've set up a "Service Jail" in FreeBSD 8.0 according to the FreeBSD Handbook (http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/jails-application.html). After upgrading the host to the latest patch level and then performed a jail-upgrade, freebsd-fetch still reports that there are files in need of an update in the jail. Is this expected? Then how do I know if a jail is up to date? This is what I've done in more detail: After the initial setup of the jail freebsd-update fetch reported that there were no updates available neither in the host system nor in the jail. This was expected. A while later freebsd-update fetch reported that the following files where in need of an update both in the host and in the jail. /usr/lib/libssl.a /usr/lib/libssl_p.a /usr/lib/libzpool.a /usr/lib32/libssl.a /usr/lib32/libssl_p.a /usr/lib32/libzpool.a I updated the host and followed the upgrade guide for the jail (http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/jails-application.html#JAILS-SERVICE-JAILS-UPGRADING). freebsd-update fetch now reports that there are no updates available in the host but the following is the output from freebsd-update fetch in the jail: [root@bb /]# freebsd-update fetch Looking up update.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 3 mirrors found.   • Bad motherboard / controller / HDs?

    On a leased server, I am running into some timing issues with an application that requires precise timing. Server is a Dual Xeon E5410 running on a Supermicro X7DVL-3 motherboard under CentOs 5.5 x64. The application I am running is timer sensitive and keeps sensing drift whether under load or at idle, but especially under load. I did some investigating with atop and dd and found some mind-blowing numbers. Mind you, I am no Linux guru but something sure seems out of whack. I ran: dd bs=4096 if=/dev/zero of=/bigtestfile to generate disk activity. Regardless whether I wrote it to sda or sdb my DSK value in atop would go over 100%, at one time peaking at 1700%. Again it does not matter if I am writing to sda or sdb.     I have an HP Mini 110 with Splashtop OS as an 'instant on' OS. I've updated to the newest version which has a Chromium browser...and not too much else You know what would be really cool? The newest Chromium/Chrome OS build on there instead Can someone in the know tel me if this is even possible? (just to be clear, I don't want to put Chrome OS on my hard drive or boot to a USB drive. I want Chrome OS installed in the same place that Splashtop is installed.)

  • How do I install newer python on CentOS with minimal effort?

    I would like to install Python 2.6 and mod_python on CentOS 5 (x64). The system is delivered with old python 2.4 and I want the new one with minimal maintenance effort (compiling and having a different installation seams to be suboptimal solution). Is there a solution for this, other than starting to recompile lots of packages? If not should I switch to Ubuntu? Please remember that I'm talking about x64 - I found a repository on net with updated packages but it is not x64.
