    What do I do so that I could launch firefox on windows 7 if it is installed on windows xp. I tried going to the drive where it is installed. And launch firefox from there but the firefox that is installed on windows 7 keeps on launching. I even changed the firefox.exe into something different and cleaned the registry using tune up utilites but still don't work. what do I do.

    How do I granularly increase the various fast-forward/rewind speed/rate for each of the speed settings for skipping through commercials? The current defaults go from barely faster than playback, too fast for unexpectedly short commercials, to omfg its so fast I can't see what is happening. Do people suffer with these defaults, or is there some better setting in the registry, or elsewhere?

    I have a script that uses ftp_connect() among other FTP PHP functions for uploading a file. ftp_connect() works when executed on my local development server for connecting to a remote FTP server. The same script, when executed on the remote server does not work for connecting to the exact same FTP server. Could somebody please point me in the right direction? Thanks!     Hi all, I have a windows service responsible for running processes on a remote machine with capturing the output, I googled for that and read a lot of articles and threads, I found two ways: 1) using WMI for call the remote process like this example: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/EverythingInWmi02.aspx 2) using the PsExec tool by System.Diagnostic.Process class ever way of these has many problems, the WMI doesn't support returning the output and doesn't support "WaitingToExit" It just call the process and return the PId, and the PsExec couldn't capture the output programmatically by System.Diagnostic.Process in a clear way, I found only workarounds like redirect the output to a file then read the redirected file..etc, I need a real solution please

I have given the strong name for this dll and its dependent dll’s When I access the method of this dll through localhost or if I add the reference to the client project the method are executed successfully. Simply if I access the dll from the same machine with the reference it is working. So I think there is no problem with the way I deployed in the COM +. I don't know why this is not working with only Competitor model.

"Permission denied (publickey). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly" I vaguely remember following some sshgen steps I took when I created my 1st github repository but I have forgotten what it was. I have read the answers in this question but if it's possible I'd rather not resort to start a third party program like insomnia every time I want to listen to music.     Whenever I drag or resize a window near any edge or corner of either monitor, Windows wants to maximize or resize the window for me in several different ways: dragging a window near a corner offers resize to full-screen dragging directly to the corner offers half-screen maximize resizing to top or bottom edges offers a vertical maximize (one long strip from top to bottom) Actually, now that I think about it the 3rd one isn't so bad, its just the full and half-screen maximize features that drives me mad. Is there a registry hack to disable these settings, preferably independently?

    Hi everyone, I am currently having a hard time on getting the mobile broadband connection running on ubuntu 10.04(lucid lynx). I am using a USB modem and used wvdial to connect to the web It went like: Sending ATZ ... OK sending some more flags OK modem initialized connecting Local IP x.x.x.x Remote IP y.y.y.y Primary DNS z.z.z.z Secondary DNS a.a.a.a (Some more output) I tested this with invalid username to make sure it is really connected and i think it was connected as connection failed with invalid usernames. Now when I do a remote ping say 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS servers), the ping says unreachable I think this might be because the system may be using the ethernet to send packets which was indeed disconnected. So can anyone help me out with this. How can I select ppp as the interface to send packets or is there some other problem. A command line solution will be appreciated as my network manager applet doesnt works correctly. Any help is much much appreciated. -- thx

    Skype an other applications running under windows 7 Ultimate are presenting the video captured from the laptop built-in webcam upside down. I've tried many solution that I was able to find regarding issues like this, but to no avail. Some of the most relevant are discussed here: From Skype Support Network, the thread why is my video image of myself upside-down??? From ASUSTek Forums, the thread Built-in camera upside down Both present several potential solutions to this issue, but I've been unable to fix it for the laptop ASUS U6S. What I've already tried: Changing Drivers The driver that works must be the one from Windows, all others available from ASUS drivers either don't install or install but the webcam doesn't provide any video feed. This disallows all options that concern using an older driver or editing the .inf file as to manually adjust the settings. ASUS does not provide drivers for Windows 7, so I've used drivers from Windows Vista 32 Bit. Using the application manycam This application actually solves the issue (temporarily), but creates new ones: If I use the application to flip the video feed, Skype video call cease to work. This application doesn't save the settings, at least I wasn't able to find any way to save the settings I've used to flip the video feed. A computer restart brings all back to how it was, video feed upside down and if the application is still installed, Skype continues to fail on video calls. Regedit I've searched thru Windows Registry Editor as to find any reference to the webcam settings, hopping to find a key with the Flip parameter, since it's up to the driver to flip the image (by what I could ascertain from this problem). Couldn't find any reference to such settings, either they actually don't exist within the Windows Registry or they use some weird name that I could think off. System Configuration I was able to access the webcam system settings from the Windows Device Manager, but the tab that actually has the Image Rotation setting is always disabled. The same goes for the settings available from the Skype webcam options (that essentially is presenting the same settings as Windows Device Manager, just within a custom Skype pop-up). Question: How can I flip the video feed from the laptop's built-in webcam, as to properly see and broadcast the video?

    Can the utility "Installation Monitor" from the Windows 2000 Resource Kit Tools for administrative tasks be used on newer OS's, specifically, Windows Server 2008 R2. The main thing I am concerned about is it may error will not track things correctly without letting me know that that it errored due to how Windows has changed between 2000 and today. If that is not the correct tool to use to monitor what a application is writing to the hard drive and registry, can you recommend me what I should use instead?

    A company I used to work for was plagued with build breakages. So they made a tool that would zip up a developers local changes (which it detected from SCM) and send them to a remote server for a test build. The remote server would update its copy of the source with the repository and then apply the changes it received from the developer. It would then build and test the changes. We actually targeted multiple platforms so it would do the above for each of those platforms. When it was done, if everything was green, the developer was reasonable confident they could submit the change without breaking the "real" build. Are there any tools out there that do something similar?

    Dragging a (Windows) scrollbar only works as long as the cursor is not too far away from the scrollbar itself. How can I 'fix' this bevaviour? Is there some kind of threshold in the registry? Tip: to see this behavior: click on a scrollbar (dont' release the mouse button) and move up/down. This works, as long as you don't move too much to the left.

    I create Jenkins jobs using hudson.cli.CLI jar. I have selected "Archive the artifacts" option in the "Post-build steps" section. It archives the artifacts on each succesfull build. I am using jenkins remote access api http://localhost:8080/job/job_name/api/json to get details about jobs. and http://localhost:8080/job/job_name/job_number/api/json to get details about builds. When I delete a build corresponding archived artifacts are not deleted. I'd like to make sure that they are deleted. When I use jenkins remote access api http://localhost:8080/job/[job_name]/[job_number]/api/json for a build, it returns json data which contains all previously archived artifacts (other successful builds artifacts) with this (running build) build artifact. How do I get related artifact of a build (a successful build should return its artifact, not all previous successfull artifacts). Any suggestions or ideas ?
