• How do I export a large table into 50 smaller csv files of 100,000 records each

  I am trying to export one field from a very large table - containing 5,000,000 records, for example - into a csv list - but not all together, rather, 100,000 records into each .csv file created - without duplication. How can I do this, please? I tried SELECT field_name FROM table_name WHERE certain_conditions_are_met INTO OUTFILE /tmp/name_of_export_file_for_first_100000_records.csv LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' LIMIT 0 , 100000 that gives the first 100000 records, but nothing I do has the other 4,900,000 records exported into 49 other files - and how do I specify the other 49 filenames? for example, I tried the following, but the SQL syntax is wrong: SELECT field_name FROM table_name WHERE certain_conditions_are_met INTO OUTFILE /home/user/Eddie/name_of_export_file_for_first_100000_records.csv LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' LIMIT 0 , 100000 INTO OUTFILE /home/user/Eddie/name_of_export_file_for_second_100000_records.csv LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' LIMIT 100001 , 200000 and that did not create the second file... what am I doing wrong, please, and is there a better way to do this? Should the LIMIT 0 , 100000 be put Before the first INTO OUTFILE statement, and then repeat the entire command from SELECT for the second 100,000 records, etc? Thanks for any help. Eddie

  I'm trying to get the Poll tutorial working at my Dreamhost account (I don't have any prior experience of deploying Django). I downloaded the script I found here (http://gabrielfalcao.com/2008/12/02/hosting-and-deploying-django-apps-on-dreamhost/) at my home directory and executed it. • CSS Rollover button bug

  Hi Everyone, I'm trying to create a drop down button and its almost working except one little bug. I have several big buttons that change background color when the user hovers over them and one of them, the language button, displays several suboptions inside itself when the user hovers over it. That all works fine except the language button doesn't change its background color when the user hovers over it. It does change its color if the cursor is just inside the button but not if it touches the 3 sub options. What i need is a technique or a rule that states that the button will change background color if user hovers over it or if the user hovers over one of its children elements. How do I achieve this?   Hello guys, I started with bitbucket and tried to use the wiki for my documentation. Therefore, i created a folder "documentation" unter the folder "wiki" (same level as home.wiki) and added some .wiki files. Now i'm trying to display all these contents of Documentation/ as table of contents. Therefore, i added the line: <<toc Documentation/ 2 >> After commit and push my home.wiki page really shows a TOC, but it contains only the first file stored in the folder Documentation/. • Accessing a file in Windows and Linux when working with JAVA+Eclipse.

  Hi there. I'm doing some JAVA coding at home and at work. At home i have Linux, work, Windows. The rootpath to X file in Windows is c:\Documents And Settings\User\My Documents\Dropbox\file.xxx and in Linux is something like /media/My Documents/Dropbox/file.xxx So, every time i edit in either system, i have to manually change the root of the file in a new File(FILEPATH) statement. Is there a workaround for this? I bet if the file root is relative to the project resource tree would do the trick, but that's an Eclipse based solution, not JAVA, i believe.

• External USB attached drive works in Windows XP but not in Windows 7. How to fix?

  Earlier this week I purchased this "N52300 EZQuest Pro" external hard drive enclosure from here. I can connect the enclosure using USB 2.0 and access the files in both NTFS partitions on the MBR partitioned drive when I use either Windows XP (SP3) or Mac OS X 10.6. So it works as expected in XP & Snow Leopard. However, the enclosure does not work in Windows 7 (Home Premium) either 64-bit or 32-bit or in Ubuntu 10.04 (kernel 2.6.32-23-generic). I'm thinking this must be a Windows 7 driver problem because the enclosure works in XP & Snow Leopard. I do know that no special drivers are required to use this enclosure. It is supported using the USB mass storage drivers included with XP and OS X. It should also work fine using the mass storage support in Windows 7, no? FWIW, I have also tried using 32-bit Windows 7 on both my desktop, a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 with a Pentium Dual-Core E6500 @ 2.93GHz, and on my early 2008 MacBook. I see the same failure in both cases that I see with 64-bit Windows 7. So it doesn't appear to be specific to one hardware platform. I'm hoping someone out there can help me either get the enclosure to work in Windows 7 or convince me that the enclosure hardware is bad and should be RMAed. At the moment though an RMA seems pointless since this appears to be a (Windows 7) device driver problem. I have tried to track down any updates to the mass storage drivers included with Windows 7 but have so far come up empty. Heck, I can't even figure out how to place a bug report with Microsoft since apparently the grace period for Windows 7 email support is only a few months. I came across a link to some USB troubleshooting steps in another question. I haven't had a chance to look over the suggestions on that site or try them yet. Maybe tomorrow if I have time ... ;-) I'll finish up with some more details about the problem. When I connect the enclosure using USB to Windows 7 at first it appears everything worked. Windows detects the drive and installs a driver for it. Looking in Device Manager there is an entry under the Hard Drives section with the title, Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 USB Device. When you open Windows Disk Management the first time after the enclosure has been attached the drive appears as "Not initialize" and I'm prompted to initialize it. This is bogus. After all, the drive worked fine in XP so I know it has already been initialized, partitioned, and formatted. So of course I never try to initialize it "again". (It's a 1 GB drive and I don't want to lose the data on it). Except for this first time, the drive never shows up in Disk Management again unless I uninstall the Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 USB Device entry under Hard Drives, unplug, and then replug the enclosure. If I do that then the process in the previous paragraph repeats. In Ubuntu the enclosure never shows up at all at the file system level. Below are an excerpt from kern.log and an excerpt from the result of lsusb -v after attaching the enclosure. It appears that Ubuntu at first recongnizes the enclosure and is attempting to attach it, but encounters errors which prevent it from doing so. Today I recieved a 1394b 9 pin to 1394a 6 pin cable which allowed me to connect the "EZQuest Pro" via Firewire. Everything works. When I use Firewire I can connect whether I'm using Windows 7 or Ubuntu 10.04. I even tried booting my Gigabyte desktop as an OS X 10.6.3 Hackintosh and it worked there as well. (Though if I recall correctly, it also worked when using USB 2.0 and booting OS X on the desktop. Certainly it works with USB 2.0 and my MacBook.)   Hello, I have a square grid, for a turn based game ( grid is similar to the chess board ), but the moves in the games are different based on whether you have lapped your opponent pawn at least once or not. i.e if you have not lapped (beaten any of the opponents pawns) in the outer most grid as below if you have lapped your opponent pawn once at least, then you get to reach home,this way.Any player having all his pawns reaching "home" first wins. The ones in yellow are safe-houses, i.e both the opponent pawn and the player's pawn get to stay in the same grid, this is not considered to be lapping ( the opponent ).The lapped pawn will return to its start point. Now the question is, what is the effective way to store the paths for the all the pawns.we will have 4 pawns for the player and 4 opponent pawns. I have a following Kohana setup: All my files are placed under 'public_html/koh' My js files are placed under 'public_html/koh/media/js/' I use html::script helper to include those javascript files which generates me following html code: In my js I access one of controllers like 'json/getsomething' (which is http://localhost/koh/json/getsomething). It works OK as long as I'm staying in top of the controller: http://localhost/koh/home When I go to 'http://localhost/koh/home/index' it renders the same page of course but 'json/getsomething' is not accessible from Javascript anymore. How can I solve this problem? Include Javascript using absolute path? Create a variable in js like var fullPath = 'http://localhost/koh/'? What is the best practice to do it? Leonti

  I was quite hesitant about whether I should post this question here on "StackOverflow" or on "SuperUser", but finally decided to post it here as Python is more a programming language rather than a piece of software. I've been recently using Python 2.5.4 that is installed on my computer, but at the moment I am not at home (and won't be for about two weeks from now), so I need to install the same version of Python on another computer. This computer has Windows XP installed – just like the one that I have at home. The reason why I need Python 2.5.4 is because I am using “Google App Engine”, and I was told that it only supports Python 2.5 However, when I went to the official Python page for the download, I discovered that certain things have changed, and I don’t quite remember where exactly from that site I had downloaded Python 2.5.4 on my computer at home.   Hi, I'm using ASP.NET WebForms. I'm using the standard sitemap provider. Home User Account Entry Going to the home page should have a user selection screen. Clicking on a user should list out the user's accounts with options to edit, delete, add accounts. Selecting an account should list out all the user's account's entries with options to edit delete and add entries. How do you normally pass this information between pages? I could use the query string, but then, the sitemap doesn't work. The sitemap only has the exact page without the query string and therefore loses the information. /User/Account/List.aspx?User=123 /User/Account/Entry/List.aspx?User=123&Account=322 I could use a session variable, but this seems overkill. Thoughts and suggestions very appreciated. Thanks!

  I've recently upgraded my computer from Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've re-installed VS 2008 web express, and re-installed all the silver light sdk's, tools, etc. But now when I want to add a Silverlight Navigation Page, it is not avialble to me in the list of items that can be added. The navigation dll is installed, as my project existed before the OS upgrade. The program still runs just fine as is, but I want to add another navigation page item to the project, and I'm stumped for how to do it. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve

• mpicc hangs when called from makefile; runs fine as single command

  i'm trying to compile WRF (doubt that's relevant) and am having a problem where mpicc will hang when run w/ the compile script. icc and mpif90 have no issues. the compile script is executed w/ #!/bin/csh -f just to be verbose, here's an example. i run the script and get here make[3]: Entering directory `/home/jason/wrf/wrf3.5/external/RSL_LITE' mpicc -DMPI2_SUPPORT -DMPI2_THREAD_SUPPORT -DFSEEKO64_OK -w -O3 -DDM_PARALLEL -DMAX_HISTORY=25 -DNMM_CORE=0 -c rsl_bcast.c and hang. so then i run that line by itself jason@server:~/wrf/wrf3.5$ cd /home/jason/wrf/wrf3.5/external/RSL_LITE jason@server:wrf3.5/external/RSL_LITE$ mpicc -DMPI2_SUPPORT -DMPI2_THREAD_SUPPORT -DFSEEKO64_OK -w -O3 -DDM_PARALLEL -DMAX_HISTORY=25 -DNMM_CORE=0 -c rsl_bcast.c jason@server:wrf3.5/external/RSL_LITE$ compiles instantly. starting the compile script again does the exact same thing but on the next file. i have no idea what to do, and this is basically impossible to google for.
